[Labyrinth Land] LL Questions and Concerns

Well, depending on what is in the mountains... if we clear that out, we can expand there, although I'm not sure we'll need to do that soon.

Do we know how strong ogrekin and the other things mentioned in the mountains are?

As a player (not the King) I'm interested in building the buildings that increase the Kingdom stats (Farm, Citadel, School etc.), increasing population... all the basic goals.

I'm having trouble figuring out how we can generate lots of MG... although I haven't finished reading the entire book yet.

You want to know the strength of the Ogrekin Tribes, Harpy Nests, and various other dens of Demihumans? That is unknown by HFB as of present. You'd have to send scouts to look into it.

From what I've seen that sort of thing comes down to how lucky you are in the dungeon. Since Varna is our ninja/scout he would be the one to scan that during the kingdom phase. As for acquiring the mountains, it's a chain of them. With 56 citizens we probably won't get much more than a single mine set up. The idea for establishing the basics is solid. Still figuring out what skill group to volunteer for the guild.

I believe you have the choice of item or dungeon if I'm reading for it. If you want to mass produce monies, though, I 'd assume item guilds would be more your speed.

Since Powgow brought it up, what about the religions mentioned in the book's background?

You were raised by very devout parents. Roll 1D6 to determine your religion: 1-Calamitists; 2-Triumphant; 3-Travelers; 4-Faith of the Gear; 5-Learned Ones; 6-Mad Feasters. Your mission is to build a Level 5 Temple in your Kingdom.

Compared to everything else. Since Varna has faith of the gear.

Since we now have the character line up down. Rolling for relationships.

1. Rouge

2. Doc

3. Emprah

Storm of loyalty for the young king apparently.

To clarify, the Six are the six deities mentioned in the Hexatheion Heresy. Their worship isn't really supported or even encouraged, as it's not entirely sure if they even exist or not. Thus, the Suns are the chief deities worshiped, even if the Tome of the Shining Wanderer seems to worm its way into even the most casual book collector's works.

The Faith of the Gear and various others, as you described from the book, are all present, and live side by side with one another. There is no dearth of gods or higher powers in the Labyrinth. Heck, the Fuuma clan is said to call upon dangerous spirits from the Deeper Down (The depths of the Labyrinth) themselves.

So, with Powgow's character, we seem to be all set. However, the last pieces we need are where our guild is (And what type of guild it is) along with relationships for the PCs.

Going over the list and characters I'd think either dungeon or item skills would be the most useful starting out. Since our ninja has dungeon as one of his job's learnable skills, I'd vote we start with item. As we level the guild up we can increase the spread of learnable skill groups. As for location, I'd suggest the NE corner of the kingdom by the gate. Since item guild easily accessible to travelers entering the kingdom.

Ah, gotcha. Well I was mostly asking that because I was thinking of rolling an Oracle but that wasn't the case so I'll just keep this in mind for now.

EDIT: And yeah, that suggestion sounds good.

There's nothing from stopping you from rolling an Oracle of the Six, or even one of them (Something nice might happen if you do) but, you're going to get no end of weird looks if you did.

Also, robot maids are fine, too.

Since we seemed to all be more or less complete save for relationships, I went ahead and began the kingdom phase. I have numerous appeals to pique your interest, or you can ignore them and do your own thing.

I also have updated the map thread according to your thoughts.

I think a majordomo is someone who tends to the affairs of a castle, but I might be getting mixed up with another word.

Relationship Roll

1. Rouge

2. Docta

3. Sir East

I am apparently reciprocally loyal to Sir East. I wonder why?

It's a mystery. And ignore my last question. Looked it up. It's the chief steward.

Indeed. Sorry for any confusion about the term; I love using big words :) . Sebastian was indeed supposed to be a butler, until I realized that that would be horning in on Rouge's schtick, so I shifted his character over to the dutiful vizier. If you'd like to know, he is a eunuch/vizier job/class character.

Well he could be the Head Butler to Rouge's Chief Maid. It's feasible for the Royal Family to have more than one head servants too. Our followers can be the ordinary maids/servants.

Oh, and my relationship rolls.

Apparently she's the Ninja's Robot Maid. Sounds legit.
