"Wait, wait, slow down here! 100 meters for the six shot grouping? I thought we were doing 50 meters! But if you want to do 100, I'm okay with that. Let's see... 100 is how many yards...? 109 yards. Whew, alrighty then, I can do that, sure thing."
Kristi stepped over for a minute to look at her rifle. It had standard iron sights on it, no sort of fancy optic to help with longer range shooting. Not only would this prove to be a challenge, one she looked forward to, but it would be even more difficult, as she hadn't known if the sights were correctly sighted in.
"Hold on one second, I'll time you with my phone, just let me sight my rifle in so I know where it shoots," said Kristi as she sat down at her bench.
Grabbing her rifle she chose, she slid a magazine in, then pulled the charging handle back and let go. The bolt went forward, picking up a round and chambering it. It locked forward with a satisfying noise. Next, she took her rifle and aimed down range at the fifty meter paper target. Luckily, they had the targets that are black, yet turn yellow when shot. This would help her see where her shots were landing.
With the rifle chambered and ready, Kristi flipped the safety off. Lining up her sights with the target, she squeezed the trigger, and a round went off. After she shot, she lifted her head up and looked for a yellow bullet hole. She immediately saw the rifle was shooting low and the the left, around the 8 o'clock position on the circular target. Whenever she shot long range and had someone spot for her, she loved when they would say where the rounds landed by using the positions of a clock. At first, it confused her. But the more she did it, the easier it became.
Seeing it shot low and to the left, Kristi began adjusting her rear sights accordingly. When she was satisfied with her adjustments, she went to shoot again. This time, she shot five rounds to see where the grouping was. Since she was on a bench rest, her grouping was going to be better than offhand shooting. She was going for the best precision she could get at the moment, and test the rifle and ammunition's accuracy. Since it wasn't ammunition that was great she was using, she'd figured it would be somewhat decent. When she was done, she called a ceased fire, and tapped a cease fire light on the range, even though Kristi and Marco were the only ones there at the time. Walking up to her target, she was rather impressed by her accuracy. It looked to be under just a three-quarter inch grouping, which did surprise her. She thought she'd be shooting at least an inch or more at this distance with standard iron sights and ammunition that wasn't too great.
She made her way back to her rifle. It's left and right measurements were perfect. She needed to bring up the sight a couple of clicks and she was perfect. Doing the adjustment on her rifle, she then cleared the weapon and made sure it was safe.
"Alright, military dude, you're up first. I want to see your skills first. But thanks for being gentlemanly and asking me to go first. ," she said, pulling out her phone and opening a timer app. "Shooter ready? Go," she said as she started the timer.
Marco clutched his rifle tight, his finger slowly squeezing the trigger. The first round gets sent to its target. Marco aimed dead center mass the round hit a little high. 2 to 3 inches up and to the left at about 10 O clock.
Marco adjusted seamlessly. He was a big proponent of Kentucky Windage and simply adjusted his aim instead of his sights. Too keep his grouping tight he kept his aim dead center. Making all six rounds hit the target in the upper left section. After the last round was sent Marco brought his rifle down, switching on the safety.
"That wasn't bad,I hope you don't embarrass me too bad. " Marco laughed as he nudged Kristi.
"I'll time you next and then we'll move to the back engage drill." Marco said as he began to pull out his phone and selecting the stop watch feature.
He like Kristi she was a solid shooter, knew her info and had looks to match. That combination was certainly rare to find.
"What's my time?"Marco asked
He didn't really care for the challenge at this point. He was enjoying his time so much that to be honest he didn't care anymore.

Kristi watched as Marco shouldered his rifle and started firing. She noticed the first shot landed a little high and to the left, somewhere around the 10 o'clock position. He didn't take the time to sight his gun in, so it didn't surprise her that it didn't hit near the center. She watched as he fired his next five shots, seeing them all land in the same general area. Once she counted the sixth shot go off, she stopped her timer. She checked the time, and it wasn't bad.
"Not bad, military," she said before he responded and nudged her. She laughed back.
"Your time was 13:85. Not bad, not bad. Well it's my turn. I am based more off speed in these drills than accuracy. But I'll make the exception today for accuracy. Let's see who wins this first challenge. Oh, and nice use of Kentucky windage. I was keeping track of it. I notice those little things. Now it's my turn."
I am slightly impressed by Marco. He's not a bad shot, and he's pretty cool, too. I think I've found myself a friend here.
Kristi walked over to her table, grabbed her AR and a magazine. She then walked over to her place, or station, as she liked to think of it, to shoot. She put the mag inside of the gun and then pulling the charging handle. The gun was ready to fire. She positioned herself in a position she was all too familiar with.
"I'm locked and loaded, ready on your go," she said, focusing on her target downrange.
This was something she was something she was also familiar with, because of her competitions.
Bry stood up and walked to his dorm. He swung the door open and walked in before slamming it. He was angry at everything; the school, that girl, his Mom, Aiden, Aiden's lackies. Everything. He lie face down on his bed and cried more before falling asleep.
Marco smiled and nodded. He was happy with his grouping. He was excited to see what Kristi had to offer.
Grabbing his phone he stepped next to Kristi. "Ok,shooter ready?" He paused of her to nod. "Engage." Marco exclaimed as he began the time simulatenously.
Leonard blinked with surprise at the suggestion, but soon it turned into a smile as he nodded and looked down at Joel.
"She would love that,Joel. I will make sure to let her know that I wanna see her, let's make it a surprise. But what about your brother? Will I ever meet him?"

As soon as she heard the word "engage," she brought he rifle up with one fast and fluent motion. Since she would have to switch guns often in competitions, she was used to having to quickly shoulder and aim her weapon.
It seemed like little to no time pasted before Kristi fired her first shot. She saw it hit slightly left at the 9 o'clock position. Since she was dealing with accuracy here more than just hitting her target, she quickly lined up her sights where she did when she first shot. The followed by quickly shooting all five remaining shots. Kristi knew she had speed on her side, but the fact that she was going more for a better grouping size was the challenge. She hoped she could get a decent grouping.
When the last shot fired, she smiled.
That was so nice to finally be able to do again. Man have I missed that. It makes me think of back home. Man, do I miss that.
Putting the gun on safety, she walked back to the table and took her magazine out of it.
"So how'd I do," she asked Marco, curious of if she did okay on both the speed and accuracy aspects.
Marco smiled and nodded in acceptance. It was fast, solid and accurate.
"Alot faster than me. You clocked in at 9.56. That's blazing speed, your grouping however is solid but not as tight as mine." Marco chuckled and showed his timer to Kristi verifying it indeed was 9.56 seconds.
"I think it's safe to say your alot faster than me but I'm slightly more accurate." Marco smiled and pointed at the target again while grabbing his rifle.
"Time for the back engage.I'll wait on you. "
Marco did a 180 having his back face the target. He was slightly hunched over with his rifle shouldered but lowered. His breathes became deep. He was in the zone he was ready. With his right hand on the trigger and the left on the mag well from support he nodded at Kristi @Jennifer Shotain

"Faster but a little less accuracy? Darn, that's what I had expected. I train for speed and hitting the target, not getting a tight grouping size. Oh well."
Kristi took out her phone and got it ready to time for Marco. He got into his stance and was ready to do the back engage drill.
With the app open, she hovered her finger over the "start" button.
"Shooter ready? Engage," she said as she hit the timer.
Leonard chuckled, detecting the obvious affection in Joel's tone.
"It's really nice that your brother is part of your life, specially in something that matters so much for you." He hesitated for second, looking into Joel's eyes. "Do you think he might not approve of us? Because I'm a guy,I mean."
Marco shifted effortlessly from a resting position to a firing position. He elegantly pivoted, making a 180 causing him to face the target. He knew already the projected path of where his rounds would go based of the previous exercise. Muscle memory kicked in,his arms almost as if possessed moved, his finger squeezed the trigger the same way someone blinks.
Pop,pop,pop,pop,pop,pop
All 6 rounds hit the target. He aimed to the right shoulder, the rounds hitting the upper center chest, lower through the area. The grouping could be no bigger than a teacher cups plate.
Marco swiftly switched his weapons safety on. His arms slowly dropped as he cooked his head left and right scanning his surroundings. He dropped his arms, the rifle hanging from its stop, he smiled and looked at Kristi.
"How'd I do partner?" Asked Marco, again in his worst Texan accent.
Leonard smiled brightly to the newcomer, shaking his hand as he walked towards him. He could already see some physical resemblance between Joel and his older brother.
"It's really good to meet you. Your brother is a great guy,and he surely knows how to make people fall for him."
A smile played in his eyes as he looked up at Joel.
"He told me you are also part of his band. I really need to go to a concert eventually."
Daevon was rolling into school late, on his first flipping day of school. God was he pissed. When he woke up, he realized he forgot to set his alarm clock the night before. He was too busy playing basketball and when he came home he just plopped himself on the couch. He began to rush around the house, after all they did give him a scholarship to their school.
Daevon ran to the bathroom, took a cold shower, brushed his teeth, and dealt with any bladder issues he might've had. He then ran over to his kitchen where he had laid his uniform yesterday morning. He quickly began to wear it, and put some sunglasses on; just in case he got high at school.
He ran over to his room, packed his bag with books, his Macbook Pro that the school provided him with, and a bunch of joints placed gently in a zip lock bag. Daevon had traveled all the way from Jamaica and now he finally got to come to this elite school, he was really excited; despite him being late. He closed the hotel room door, handed in the keys in the lobby, and walked out of the hotel with his backpack on his back and his luggage at his side. His luggage contained all sorts of stuff, mostly for his room. He didn't even know if he had a roommate or not. He did look forward to it. He smiled as he finally called a taxi and would make his way to school.
After class, Amira quickly packed up her things. She lingered for a moment to talk to some of her classmates; many of them had seemed interesting, and she gravitated to those who had seemed as focused on the lesson as she was.
She then left the building and headed towards the girls' dorm to change. Getting some dance practice in sounded great; she hadn't danced since leaving Utrecht. With so much novelty around her, the familiarity of one of her old ballet routines seemed welcoming.
As she neared the entrance, she saw a boy making his way in. He had a backpack on his back and some luggage with him-- a latecomer? Amira remembered being slightly cowed at the sheer size of this place a couple of days ago, and all the time she had spent looking at maps and just finding her way around. Maybe he needed some help. And even if he didn't, it wouldn't hurt to say hi.
"Hello," she said as she got closer, a natural smile on her face, "Did you just get here?"
Daevon was looking down as a girl, that was now smiled, asked him if he just got here. Daevon sighed just before he looked up at her, and he tried not to gasp. Damn, she was hot and cute, he thought. He couldn't resist but talk to her. He wasn't that cool really, he was kind of clumsy really. He light blushed and smiled, "Hi. My name is Daevon Perry, more formally known as King Daevon, Baby. Yeah, I just came here, on a Basketball Scholarship. Do you have ask? Or a phone number? Actually, both. I'd like them both." He was still wearing his glasses, alongside his uniform. He felt cool, but he wasn't sure how cool he actually was.
Amira chuckled; this guy was forward, that was for sure. King Daevon, huh? Amira considered herself a pharaoh in training, as all of her social media advertised. Surely royalty attracted royalty, even if he was here on scholarship. Clearly he was talented; he had to be. Kingsgrove didn't hand out scholarships to the undeserving. Daevon was handsome, and seemed confident.
"Shouldn't you at least know my name before asking for my number or social media?" she teased, "I'm Amira. Amira Klerksen. It's nice to meet you, Daevon."

Kristi watched as Marco fired his six shots at the target during the drill. She was surprised at how easy it was for him. As soon as the sixth round was fired, she stopped the timer.
"Well, look at you. You got all six shots on target in 9:46. I'm rather impressed by that, but not impressed by your Texas accent. It's really bad. It could use some more work," she said with a laugh back to him.
Just as Kristi was about to put her phone away, she heard it go off. Curious, she looked at it. There was a new message from a blocked number.
Oh no, not them...
Kristi wrestled with the idea of what she would do, be it open the message or not now. God knows what could be said on it. However, after much internal debate, she decided to open it and see what kind of empty threat this time.
Unlocking her phone, her messages app open up. It took a second to load, but before she knew it, there was the message. And a picture.
A picture of her from minutes earlier firing on the range.
Her face turned white like she had seen a ghost.
She looked at the message.
Not only a message, but a picture.
Blocked Number
them
Enjoying your time at the range? Feel safe in your closed off school with a bunch of rich snobs? You fit right in with them. But you're not just a rich snob, but a stupid fucking whore and slut and bitch. We warned you we would be here last night. We are here. You won't escape us. We are here, we are in your school, we are everywhere you go; we are everywhere. There isn't a dark corner on this Earth where you could hide from us. What you did to him will make you pay. And we will make sure we do for him. Look out, you never know who we are. It could be that guy you're shooting with now. Go ahead and run. We are watching.
Kristi's heart sank. It began to pound. Fear rang throughout her body with every beat of her heart.
No... No, no, no, no, no, no, no! What... the... fuck...? How the fuck, where the fuck, who the fuck, what the fuck just happened? Has that asshole gone so mad that he is hiring people down to track me and hurt me or something? What the fuck is going on...? I need to get back to my dorm. Now.
"I... I have to go...," Kristi said as if she saw a ghost. "Just, put my things back, I've got to go."
Kristi ran to the front desk. Adam wasn't there, She quickly signed out and did what she needed to when she signed out. Walking out of the range, she ran down the sidewalk and to her dormitory. Once there, she made it to her room. In her room, she closed her door, making sure to lock it, then walked over to her windows, shut them, and dropped the blinds.
What do I do?! What the fuck do I do?! Fuck!
Kristi tried to calm herself down. She needed to regain her composure.
