Dice Kazragun - OOC

I could have sworn that he has access to a cantrip that would do just fine...

For escaping alive and actually keeping the door somewhat intact, you'll get 700 exp. each.

The tone of voice, the arrogant attitude, the spiders, yeah she's a drow. Izz sounds like a name a drow would use when talking to non-drow. Had to get that off my head since Veskassdak has never met any drow before and wouldn't know the difference.

First of all, I'm happy to hear that the drow is seemingly recognizable as one - would have been real bad if I had messed that up completely :)

As for the roll: Hard to say without knowing what exactly your guess would be - first idea would have been Knowledge - local, but feel free to roll whatever seems to be the most appropriate from your point of view. Clockwork Syringe Clockwork Syringe

Hmm... I suppose an acrane check could potentially work, though you'd have to roll pretty well to get something meaningful out of it. Give me a post and the roll, and I'll see if I can tell you something relevant.

It would be better than Veskassdak doing it and mucking it up with his unique speech pattern. Go for it!

Blame Baird! Or if not, blame the healer! It's always the healer's fault, right?

I've been slightly busy over the last few days, but I'll probably move things forward tomorrow.

Hi there, just thought about this rp for a while and thought it'd be a good idea to get some input. Thus the following, bluntly-asked questions, feel free to share your thoughts :)

- First of all, still interested? There's no lack of ideas on this side of the screen, but I'd consider a fresh start if you feel like the current state doesn't allow you to get the optimal experience out of your characters.
- If you are still interested: Things you'd like to see less, or more of? I've got different paths in mind that could lead you to different kinds of adventures, so I'd love to get some input on which one of those to choose.
- Anything additional thoughts you'd like to share?

Apart from that: At the end of October/ beginning of November, I'll be less active on this site for a while. Shouldn't make too much of a difference, given the pace we're moving in right now, but I'll warn you anyway in case that it shows.

Yes I am still interested. Even though Veskassdak is s combat monster, he also is trying to learn more about the mammalian way of thinking. He still trusts his instincts more than any plan he could come up with, but he is starting to learn to think strategically.

More treasure and maybe a little faster experience point rewarding. I can't really remember the last time we were given XP before the spider encounter. Come to think of it, did we get any XP for escaping the spiders?

Anything additional thoughts you'd like to share?

Well like I wrote earlier, Veskassdak is a combat monster. Since our only dedicated healer is Renna, perhaps a stash of cure wounds potions (light or moderate) would go a long way to helping our characters to survive without having to rely on Renna. Perhaps even a NPC tag-a-long cleric or alchemist, hell even a bard, could aid us in the healing department. Now that I think of it, having a bard would also allow us to grow in reputation since he or she would be able to relay stories about our adventures in whatever tavern we come across.

Aside from this, I am having a blast playing Veskassdak and really want to see where he winds up. If nothing else, I have a Lizard King NPC for my own games I run readily available.

I am still very much interested in playing Baird due to the synergy he has with the party being able to speak multiple languages and all. I also love the side story of Baird's Dragon Ancestor coming into play every now and then to give helpful hints too. I also look forward to what Baird can really do once he hits higher levels.

I am with Dicer on having a tag-a-long bard/cleric in our party and getting more treasure. I would also like to see more opportunities for all of our party members' backstories to shine. We got a significant one in Baird as well as Wren, but I do not remember if Veskassdak got any time or Renna did as well.

Not at the moment, but I will let you know if it something comes up.

First of all, thanks for the quick responses, both of you - glad to hear that the interest is still there. Thought I'd already pick up a few of your points and let you know what I think.

First of all: XP.
For escaping alive and actually keeping the door somewhat intact, you'll get 700 exp. each.
This probably got lost somewhere when notifications didn't do their proper job, so I'll repeat it for convenience's sake. You're certainly correct in that I give those experience points out too infrequently. One thing I considered to deal with that was to switch over to the fast exp track instead - of course in some way that doesn't completely change your current level. Maybe just giving out more exp will do the trick already, though, I'll think about that a little more.

Second: Loot and treasure...

... whoops...

That's certainly a flaw in the way I come up with encounters and the like - I rarely come up with a scenario where it'd make sense to find remarkable things of value, at least from my point of view. I'll do my best to work on that, and the upcoming scenarios should favor a better supply with awesome stuff.

Third: NPC characters capable of healing.

I actually removed Io from the squad to make space for a character that suits the group's needs better than a ranger - having a healer aboard would certainly free up Renna to do more of the "smash evil"-part she excels at. You're not in the typical area to hire a cleric or the like, but I'll keep that in mind for the very near future.

Forth: Background stories

That's a very good point, actually, and one that's actually in my mind for some time. For some reason, Renna actually feels like the more complicated one of the two, at least for me. I've got something in mind for Veskassdak that should hopefully come into play soon-ish, dependent on how things continue from here - and Renna might actually like one of the next few encounters I've planned, we'll see. If not, I'll try again and again until I hit the mark.

I think that's mostly it for now, looking forward to hear more thoughts.

I am very much interested in continuing. This game has been very fun so far, and I want to see it continue. I could add more, but everyone else has done a good job of summing things up for me as well. Let us please go on.
