Fantasy Katta & Lexa's fairytales

As things had now begun to cool down, Soren took some steps back. He didn't know what had just happened, just that he was lucky to be alive. He wondered what the hell he was doing here, and how to get out of this damn deathtrap of a forest. He didn't know who to trust, so while Varg and Kel spoke, distracted by the other, he glided off into the forest. Not straying far, but far enough to feel the silence and clear his thoughts.
Varg had noticed just after he was gone, but he let him go. His scent was not far, and he couldn't sense more danger nearby.
"Know me? I wouldn't say so. But I'm flattered you recognoze me."
He took some steps towards Kel, not breaking eyecontact. There was a strange, dark smoke trailing him, and his eyes seemed almost glowing.
"I know you, on the other hand. You are quite the entertainment."

Kel hissed at Varg, feeling threatened when the other came closer. Though that did not go well with his wound. It was painful, his breath was short and strained, since the movement of inhaling and exhaling caused more pain. Kel's jaw clenched and he glared at Varg. A warning to stop.

Somehow an enemy you knew was safer than one you didn't. And he didn't really know this man. It came as no surprise that the other man knew him, as he had long felt him watching... If this was that presence. But he wasn't sure of his intentions. So his primitive side quickly took over.

Varg showed his palms, a gesture showing he meant no harm. "You should take care of that," he said, pointing to the small pool of blood in the dirt next to Kel.

Kel hesitated before his shoulders relaxed a bit, letting his guard down. He shook his head slowly "There's something else, first."

Two wolfs came out of and slowly walked over to Kel. Kel recognised the two from before Kane attacked. He knelt down and held his palm out towards them, which one of them touched with his snout. Kel studied them, and knew something was wrong with the third. He frowned and got up.

The wolf furthest away made gestures wanting them to follow. Kel assumed it was the mate of the one hurt.

Varg watched with amusement. This was one of his favorite things about Kel, the moments he showed genuine compassion. It was mostly well hidden behind his wild and playful nature, but it shone through when he tended to the animals and plants of the forest.
Varg had seen how he threw the wolf before, and heard its ribs crack when it hit the trunk of and old oak nearby. He had felt its pain. It was attacking Soren, and he understood that, but it was only the nature of a hungry wolf, not a sin. Soren didn't belong here after all, and was fair game.
They followed the wolves to the old oak where the first lay, breathing slowly, and in obvious pain.

Kel sat down next to and petted him comfortingly. "I'm sorry" He said quietly before he closed his eyes and concentrated on the wounds and the broken bones. It took a lot to heal him, since he hadn't much to go on. He used up all the strengths he had, feeling himself slip. Just as the last wound closed, Kel dropped to the side, laying in the grass on his side unconscious.

The wolf that Kel had healed got up and licked Kel's cheek

Varg, who had kept some distance, leaning on a tree nearby, looked as the wolf got up, stretched and started licking Kel's face and wagging it's tail. He walked over, picked up the unconcious man, and carried him with what seemed like ease.
He smelled the air; the boy was close.

Soren, who had sat down by a bush of blue flowers to process what was going on, didn't know where he was. Nor what he was going to do. He felt he had placed himself in the mercy of Kel, and although he had seen a good side in him, he had also seen a darker one. Which one was true?
He heard rustling from the bush behind him, and shot of the ground.
A small, winged creature flew out, circling Soren a couple of times before it stood still in the air at eyes hight. It looked almost like a tiny human, except... Well, except a lot of things. It's skin was dark, with a green shimmer, and its six eyes large and insect-like. In its three-fingered left hand, it carried a fine, white spear, and it's wings moved so fast they could hardly be seen.
As it opened its mouth, he saw a row of sharp, white teeth - "Fool," it said, and pointed its spear at him. It laughed, and started circling him again, before landing on his shoulder and whispering in his ear; "The wolf is coming, and so is the war. Sweet dreams, fool."
As it flew away, a branch cracked behind him, and he turned. It was that man again standing just behind him, and he held Kel in his arms. But before Soren had time to react, Varg put his hand on his forehead, and it all went black.

The wolfs followed Varg.

Kel was stable and breathing evenly, but painfully. He dreamt about a long forgotten past. His past. Faces he knew but couldn't connect to whom it really was. But the hollowing pain in his chest ran deeper and more contagious with one man he saw. His power was ancient and overwhelming. But Kel only felt sorrow, and guilt. He tossed and turned as he slept. Hunted by nightmares.

Soren woke to the sound of running water, opened his eyes and looked around. He was in a valley, or on second look - perhaps inside a mountain. There was a large opening in the roof, where the first light of day shone down on a green and fertile landscape, between roaring walls of stone. He noticed Kel lying nearby, beneath a blossoming tree by the water. He was still asleep.
Soren got up, and took a glance at his reflection in the pond. He felt different, but other than a small scratch on his cheek and some leaves in his hair, he looked the same.
This world was so different from everything he had ever known. Even the water looked different, it was exceptionally clear, and had a certain blue glow to it. Just looking reminded him of how thirsty he was, and so he kneeled by the edge, and drank from his palms.

Kel sat quietly up. "don't drink Soren" he warned and took out the blade. He got up with some strain. "excuse me.." he said, mostly for Soren's sake as he began to undress. "I'll show you where to drink afterwards."

Kel walked into the water and didn't stop until it reached his chin. "I'm sorry your introduction to this world had to be like this." he said and turned around, looking directly at the boy.

He had also noticed Varg wasn't there. He was a bit disappointed by that fact.

Soren couldn't help blushing as Kel started undressing. He quickly noticed a big scar across his chest.
"Uhm... Well, I didn't really plan on being introduced to so many in so little time."

Kel smiled. "Any other day, you might just have gotten a scare with the wolfs or by seeing a troll.. nothing as dramatic as this. I imagine you might be confused about a few things. Anything I can help explain?" Kel asked, though he still was tired as hell, he wanted to smooth things over with Soren "Oh and don't feel shy, or ashamed... I really don't mind"

Soren had sat down by the tree, and fiddled with the grass as he wondered where to begin.
"Those people... Who were they?"
He looked around, suddenly realizing something else as well; "and how did I get here?"

Kel sight "an ex... And his companion?" he told Soren. "and I'm not sure.. I think that guy brought us here. It's my home though." Kel said as he walked out of the water, the wound being healed "I'm just gonna go and get dressed"

"So that guy who stabbed you was your... Wow. Okay."
Soren looked at the missing wound.
"Wait a minute -" he said, and got up to approach Kel.
"What was that? What did you do?"
He reached out to touch Kel's skin, where he had seen the knife penetrate his skin. There was no trace, nothing.

Kel stood still, a bit amused. He wondered if Soren would touch him, or realise what he was doing first. "I healed. This water helps me. But it doesn't work like that on everyone" Kel told him softly

Soren's fingers were but an inch away from the sun-kissed skin of the other, when he looked up, into Kels eyes. They seemed almost enchanting, and he allowed his palm to rest on his chest for a second, before, and not without some self-discipline, he pulled away.
"You healed, huh. Could you heal me if I got hurt?"
He looked at Kel, with a playful glimpse.

Kel enjoyed the moment of contact. He looked into Soren's eyes and couldn't help but to smirk "Yes, but not if you do it on purpose" of course he actually could, he just wouldn't waist powers and energy on something self inflicted. Not if it wasn't fatal. Kel touched Soren's shoulder gently, where Varg had gripped him. He imagined there might be a bruse there. He used his power just a little "any better?"

Surprised, Soren pulled his shirt down from over his shoulder, and gave a baffled laugh. "It's gone! It's been aching all morning, that guy was a real piece of work."
He moved his shoulder, and smiled at Kel. His fascination was somewhat academic, he knew so little about these creatures, and he wanted to know everything. Kel was a magnificent example. But he had to admit, there was something else as well. He had an aura around him, and it was difficult not to get drawn in. Soren wondered if that too was one of Kel's powers.
"I think he saved my life though. You said you've met him before, didn't you?"

Kel thought for a while "well... It's been mostly one sided. He's the one that's been seeing me... But I always noticed he was there. What can I say? I like him." Kel smiled and took a step back "I'm going to find some clothes." he informed and walked into a tree shaped like a kind of cottage.

In the village, Soren was an outstanding apprentice, with a growing expertise for local plants and herbs. He now started noticing something he hadn't quite been able put his finger on earlier. There were plants here that he had never seen before. And the hut Kel was on his way to, had to have been made with some kind of magic. Trees doesn't grow like that, not for any man at least.
He wandered back to the water, again feeling the urge to drink it. Probably a bad idea. At the other side of the dam, he saw a dark figure, like a shadow, disappearing before the moment had even passed. A trick of the eyes? Possibly. He decided not to think more of it.

Kel found some clothes and began dressing. At least Soren didn't seem to spooked, maybe he would stay for a little bit? The idea amused him. Kel never really cared if people were expirenced or innocent, but he did think Soren was the latter. It was a bit... Cute and amusing to watch. Though he did have great self-control.

Kel also wondered about Varg, was he going to take a form again, and would it look and sound the same?

Soren sat down by the water, and thought of his family. Perhaps he should make his way home, they were surely worried. His sisters, at least. Reyon, his stepfather, was probably just preparing his punishment. Thinking of that, Soren decided that there was no hurry to get back.
A heavy thump was heard, as something dropped to the ground. They both turned towards the sound and saw Varg, with three dead rabbits by his feet.
He stood there for a moment, before he walked to the edge of the water. He had a serious look on his face, and a almost military attitude.
He didn't seem like a threat, but he certainly seemed... Strange.

Kel came out fully dressed and studied Varg. "you're differed" he stated. Not a lot, but a little bit, it was hard to point on exactly what it was. Though the more he studied the more he saw. Regardless he really did like the appearance anyway. Which was a nice surprise.

Kel turned to Soren. "you can drink from the smallest pond. It's the purest." he said as he walked over to it, showing Soren. "try not to drink from any other" he told him before he walked over to Varg.

"I've waited a long time for this" he pointed out as he stopped by his side
