Kel walked through the woods and down to the water. He dived in and with some time he fetched a fish. Killing the fish, he swam ashore and ate it raw. It had been a while since he had a meal, So it didn't bother him to much. He pushed his red locks away from his face, finished eating, lent back and relaxed.

The singing of a local folk song was heard from the woods, along with the breaking of small branches. His voice was unperfect, but kind to the ears. He was approaching the water.

Kel heard the singing and began to dress. He didn't mind much being nude, or others watching, but he knew some found it distracting. He watched the shadow approach nearby, not seeing the person clearly yet "Who fares there, human?" He asked, not sensing any magical presence yet.

Kel was a bit cranky from having a rough week. Though he shook it of, assuming the person was a human. He doubt he was wrong about that. And if he was right, he was in need to have some fun. He pictured the assumed human to be a part of that, in one way or another "tell me, is it something I could assist you with?" He asked with a sudden kindness and a bright smile as he finished buckling his top tightly enough. Kel shifted his gaze and looked straight at the stranger, his eyes glittering of mischief.

Soren, who had now stopped singing, reacted at first with fright, then admiration. There was an overwhelming beauty to the man by the water, one that wasn't limited to his earthly appearance. Soren could hardly look away. Captivated, he struggled to find his words.
"I was... I just came to fetch some seaweed. I work for the herbalist. I didn't mean to bother you."

Kel hummed in amusement "No no, it's fine. Come here, will you?" He asked and made a gesture with his hand for the other to step closer "What is your name?" Kel didn't really care about what this guy was named. But it served a purpose to make people feel somewhat important. All the while he spoke, he never took his eyes of off the other. Fully having his entire attention on the human. He rarely saw humans around these parts. So he did indeed find it interesting.

Unsure if he should approach, Soren kept his ground and told his name, and nothing more. However intriguing the man seemed, there was something about him that felt dangerous and unpredictable. Still, he didn't want to leave. He could feel those eyes looking straight at him, to his very core, and no matter how he tried to act calm and confident, he had the feeling that the other saw straight through his facades.

Kel sight and walked up close to Soren. He grabbed his shirt and pulled him up face to face "can't you see I am trying to be nice. So Soren... You should be grateful I am offering you anything. After all you're in my territory, boy" Kel didn't look old, but he certainly was much older than this man. Though his plan to play with Soren, pretending to be a friend, was probably up in smoke now because of his sudden change of approach. He just couldn't help it. He was used to mere humans flinging themselves after him and his every wish by simply giving them a little smile. So this man. This Soren... Must have some potential. May it be by his own devices, or in his blood. There still was a spark in him, Kel believed. Present in the mans resolve. Of course Kel could be wrong. It was only something he speculated on, without proof yet. And yes he did see that Soren was putting on a tougher facade than what the boy really felt. Still, trying was something unusual for him.

Thrown off by the sudden act, as well as the intensity and power in his eyes, Soren reacted in a way that surprised even himself; he laid his hand on the hand gripping his shirt, took a deep breath, and tried to keep his voice from shaking. "Please. I meant no harm, and I didn't know this place was yours. I could leave if you'd like me to."

Kel looked deeply into Soren's eyes and used a while to decide. He nodded first but stayed silent and still. After a moment he smiled and loosened his grip. "Look. You might not know much. But what you're doing right now... Not many could even stand up in your position. You're interesting. I like you. But here's one thing you ought to know. Never come here after sunset, and leave here way before." Kel looked at the sun before he looked back at Soren "So Soren, if you find strength enough to find me, on purpose, I can ignite that spark in you." Kel stroked Soren's cheek almost caring. "I bet you can't manage to just leave your precious world today." Kel stepped away from the man and turned his back. He would let this man leave. "If you wish to have a safe, happy human life. Never return to these woods." It was a warning, Kel wished the other to ignore. It wouldn't be fun that way.

It was that one moment as Kel gazed towards the sun, that would haunt Soren the following days. That, and the feeling of his hand stroking his face. He wanted that moment back. Their short, but powerful meeting would play on repeat in his head as he did his work back in the village, collecting and categorizing plants for the herbalist, and working the fields for the man he had learned to call Father.
Soren wasn't born in this village, and he didn't share his name with the family. His adoptive mother died from disease only two winters past, and left her husband even colder and more distant than he had already been. He believed that only through hardship, does men become men.
Sorens two older sisters seemed to him spoiled and often cruel, but they could also be gentle, and he loved them still.

After visiting the herbalist on the third day after his meeting with Kel, who seemed to him now almost a dream, Soren couldn't wait any longer. Instead of walking home, he suddenly turned towards the forest, and didn't slow down until he was deep enough not to change his mind.
As he began to hear the sound of water, he suddenly realized that the sun was already setting, although, not quite set yet. But before he could reconsider, he saw Kel.

Kel was just setting fire to a huge bonefire, by using his magic. He had been fighting a lot lately against creatures who taught they could do just as they please, or even the once that figure they might stand a chance against him.. attacking and hunting him. There had been a few close calls. But still he was experienced and skilled when it came to battling, and that was what kept him alive. Not his raw power.

Kel was tired. And therefore not so dangerous as he could have been another day. He was driven by impulses. His moods changed quickly and he acted on it, not thinking it to be a problem. Hench he was a lot more calmer and remorseful when he was tired. And it took a bit more to anger him.

Kel had prepared meat to have on the bonfire, from his last hunting trip. Though he sensed Soren's presence and sight. "Back already boy? And so late at that." Kel looked at Soren "Come"

Soren's suspicions had been confirmed. He was truly magic. It was no surprise, but Soren had only seen such things once or twice in his life. He had about as much experience with the mystical beings of the forest as he had with the wolves who also roamed here. Stories were told, sheep and the occasional villager would go missing, but none of the stories were about friendship. Since he was little, he had been taught to be wary.
Yet, he walked towards the bonfire, and enjoyed the beauty of it, of the evening and of the man he came to visit. He wondered if it was only in his head, but Kel's glances towards him seemed softer, and his movements less predatory.
"You know my name," Soren said, and gave away the hint of a smile. "Could I know yours?"

Kel began cooking the meat. He couldn't wait, he needed his food. "funny thing name's. I have been called plenty. But you can use Kel, if you like." He replied and sat down.
"I did warn you to not come after sunset. Didn't I? Yet you're here so close to it that you can't possibly make it back before it's dark... Why?" He asked a bit tired and began healing a few wounds that would hinder him in a battle, he left the small scratches be. Sparing his energy. "and be truthful" Kel told him and smiled, making room next to him for Soren to sit.
He did find it amusing that the humans usually did the opposite of what he had asked them to. Except for when he asked for favors in a very charming way. On the other hand he also knew there was little chances for Soren to return to his family and friends as the same man he had left. If at all. The night was dangerous. That's when all the predators comes out to hunt.

Soren struggled to find the right words, he had hardly even thought of Kel's warning for the last three days. His mind had been at war, trying to decide wether to go back, or to forget the man in the woods. Threatening as he was, he knew it would have been the wise choice. Yet, he had said something else... Something about a spark. And there was something about him.
When Soren had made his choice, it was impulsive, he simply looked towards the forest and it was as if something called for him. Without hesitation, without second thought, (until he noticed the sunset) he had set out to find Kel. Finding this hard to explain, he then said, very simply, "I... I didn't really notice."
He paused for a second, wondering if he should elaborate. Instead, he asked the obvious question.
"What happens at sunset?"

Kel nodded and stroked some hair away from Soren's eyes. He knew most of the reasons why the other might have done as he did. And he didn't really mind it. He had no real connection to this human. It might be a pity if the man died so soon... But he couldn't say he would grief over it.
"I become this nasty monster." He lied, dead serious. He waited a second before he smiled "no. That's a lie." Kel assured him before he got up and took the meat off the bonfire.
"It gets dark, obviously. And when it's dark, it's dangerous. Everything that sleeps during the day wakes. Nothing more complicated than that." He smiled, sat down and began to eat.
Kel offered some of it to Soren "tell me about yourself. Will you?" He asked and studied Soren with interest. Usually people used much longer to come back, but Soren had only taken three days.
Kel might want Soren, even if the other didn't notice. But he knew Soren was young, and he guessed inexperienced. Of course he didn't mind that. It was usual to him to have to teach his partners a few moves. The problem was that Soren was a human, and therefore have prejudice against two men being together. Kel did think Soren might have a attraction to him, but he was unsure he the boy admitted such things to himself. It didn't matter much. Kel had all the time he needed to wait and see. He wouldn't do anything if Soren didn't take the initiative.
He thought he might as well just train him some, and see what happens. Maybe the human could develop great skills, and rarely, but not impossible, abilities.

Soren looked at the sunset, which gave the sky that red flare, in these last moments before dark. It was more beautiful than usual, yet, he didn't look to admire it. He was nervous.
Why had he been so stupid? He knew well that the woods were dangerous at night, but having walked these woods during daytime hundreds of times, he had become so used to them. So used to them that the scary stories he grew up with and still heard people speak of, weren't quite as scary anymore.
But now they were. He realized that this was the first time he had ever been in these forests soon to be, after dark.
Soren accepted the meat and found that it somehow helped on his stress. He felt more grounded. To answer Kel's question, he said "I work for the herbalist. You knew that, I guess. Uhm... I have two sisters. My name is Blackword. It's from my first mom. My other mom died."
There was a piercing silence after this, so he continued. "Have you ever been there? To the village?"
Although Kel seemed almost human, Soren knew that if he had gone there, all eyes would be on him. He was taller, stronger and more beautiful than most, and there was something about his eyes that was definitely not human.

Kel smiled and stroked Soren's cheek. "of course I have. A long time ago." He looked at the fire and thought about those days. It was a long time ago. But the times were different. People had a better understanding, and humans was kinder. Though he wouldn't label himself as a good person, nor proclaim that he was better. But it had been much more fun, and much freedom in it. That time was maybe one of the only times in his life he loved and enjoyed just being alive. At least that he could remember.

Kel got up and put out the fire, before pulling Soren up. "come on. We got to get a move on." he told the other and handed him a knife. "If anything comes towards you. Stab it." Kel ordered him, but in a low tone. "we got some ground to cover" he informed and smiled. "take it easy. It would be fine." He assured believably. Though he knew it would be a slightly up to fate as well.

Kel began to move as he thought about that name Soren had said. Had he heard it before? He was certain he had. But where and when?
A Wolf's howl was heard form a hill top, and Kel grabbed Soren's hand and began to run. Time was of the essence.

They moved through the woods, and Soren struggled to keep up with the other. It was getting dark, and while Kel moved with perfect grace, Soren did not. He glanced at the knife in his hand - a dagger, with a silver shaft. There were some details, but it was difficult to tell.
Kels words rang in his head. "If anything comes towards you, stab it."
He could hear something moving in the woods beside him as he passed.
They had been walking for a bit when the last rays of red light disappeared behind the mountains. There was that feeling you get when you are so used to a certain sound that you can't even tell it's there. When it's gone, the silence is overwhelming. In this case, also terrifying.

Kel stopped and prepared himself for an attack. No use of running when the wolfs jumped at them. It was safer to be ready. But the wolfs wasn't Kel's greatest concern. There was something else lurking there. Something much more dangerous. He could feel it in his bones. This was going to be a long and hard night. If nothing else, painful. Part of him wanted to just give up. But he couldn't. He knew there was something he needed to do.

The wolfs sprang out form behind the bushes. Snaring at them and circling around them. And then, one of them attacked, jumping right at Soren. Kel grabbed it and flung it away, as he hissed at all three of them. Partly because he didn't want the wolfs wounded to badly. It was to one of his beloved animals. Though something had made them attack, animals usually didn't attack him.

The wolfs growled unsure. The two of them glanced at their friend, who was just getting up, making pained sounds. Kel hissed more angrily and charged at them. The wolfs backed away and made sorry sounds, before they turned and ran away.

Kel cursed and sight, where was the real threat? He hunched down and put his fingers against the ground, trying to feel any movement or dangerous energy. Just as he realized what it was. It was to late. "Soren RUN!" Kel yelled and shielded himself as a dark matter launched at him and flung him into a tree. Kel growled in pain. It hurt. He would have fallen over, hadn't it been for the tight grip around his wrists, holding him up and pinning him against the tree. Imprisoning him, Kel thought.

He glared into the demons eyes. Beautiful lilac eyes. His glare softened a little bit, without him realizing it. "What do you want from me?" He asked spitefully.

"You, just you." The demon replied and stroked Kel's cheek. Which Kel didn't like to admit he enjoyed. "It's been so long, Kel."

Kel laughed and lent his head back against the tree. "Oh love, when are you going to realize that I can't and wont belong to anyone?" It was a rhetorical question. But before the other could realize what was going on, Kel lent in and kissed him deeply. Confused the demon kissed him back at first. But then he realized what Kel was actually doing. He flung Kel away as he growled at him.
"Stealing my energy? You fucking whore."

Kel smirked "Kane, I thought this was what you wanted." he teased, though he shouldn't feed his anger.

"You're going to regret everything" Kane told him almost with a bit of hatred in his voice. But he wouldn't regret it. Looking at the demon, he didn't regret a second he had spent with him in the past, even though it ended so badly. "Lux kill the boy." Kane ordered and attacked Kel.

Lux came out of a huge tree a little further away, and sprinted after Soren.

Soren took a step back, and felt a hand on his shoulder. "I would rethink that decision if I were you, Kane."
The hand belonged to a man with long, ravenblack hair and a calming, yet cold energy.
He turned his attention to Lux. "He's not yours to kill, child."

Kane was too late to stop his attack, and Kel turned away to look at Varg as he spoke. The blade dug deeply into Kel’s shoulder, and his face flashed in pain. But he didn’t make a sound.

There was something about the new man standing there. He felt familiar. Yet he had never seen his face. Though Kel felt drawn toward him, something about the coldness in his aura that felt appealing for Kel. He wondered if it had anything to do about the presence that had followed him around. Maybe it was. But he didn’t want to draw conclusions yet.

Lux had stopped and looked at Kane for guidens, she would do what he told her to.

Kel looked at Kane again, frowning, and took a step away, holding fingers on either side of the blade, so it stayed in place without moving.

Kane looked at the wound, and for a second, just a second, pity and regret flashed in his eyes. He hadn’t meant to do that. Yes, he wanted Kel to suffer, but not to badly. Mostly he wanted him to regret his actions. At least to be honest to why, and maybe, in the distant future, come back to him. A part of him would always love Kel. Though the other part of him hated him.

Kanes eyes were on Kel and he grabbed the others arm gently as he spoke to Varg. “Why are you interfering? I thought you stayed out of peoples’ fates, or at least stayed passive.”

As the blade had struck Kel, Soren heard a low growling sound from the man, like that of a dog - or a wolf. He gripped Sorens shoulder to the brink of pain, before he let go, and took a step forward, addressing Kane.
"This human has no business here. And your pathetic attempt of vengeance is not fate, but folly."
He looked at Kel, whose eyes did at impressing job at hiding the pain. There was a glimpse in Vargs eyes. He was amused to be seen, after all this time. Not quite what he had planned, but so be it. Years of unspoken friendship, at least the closest he had been to friendship with a two-legged being since before he came to these woods.
"I try to stay out of your way Kane. You bring nothing but destruction. But it seems you are in my way this time."

Kel gritted his teeth and looked at Soren. He wanted him safe, and at the moment everyone was a threat. "I'm fine. And don't argue-" He gave Kane a pointed look "-I will see you later, another day. You should know when. Just leave." Kel made a rune with his blood with his free hand, on the back of the hand that was holding the blade. Knowing Kane would understand that it was a promise not to be broken. Right now he just needed him out of the way, without any bloodshed. Damn the consequences.

Kane studied Kel and the run, thinking before he left taking Lux with him.

Kel cursed. And looked at Soren. He was afraid of what the human thought after all this. He knew there wasn't many options. Kel thought the boy would want to go home, no matter what options there was.

The pain in his shoulder was agonising. He should take care of it quickly. But there was something more important to him, that had happened earlier this evening, he needed to fix.

Kel whistled a signal out in the nature. And fixed a hard gaze on the newcomer "I know you. Don't I?" It wasn't really a question as Kel was sure he did. He was rude, and he was well aware. But for him it was just a defense. He was wounded and soon very vulnerable. This man he sort of knew, but didn't. He wasn't someone he let his guard down on yet.

And yet he wanted to. A part of him was ready to give up and let this new man be in charge of what would happen. A part of him didn't want to fight him.
