History: Piper Elizabeth Rhodes was born by a 16 year old mom. Until her mom was out of school she was watched by her loving, caring grandmother. Once her mom finished high school she immediately got into a band and began to tour around the United States. Piper came with her mom and quickly learned what it means to be apart of a group, and she also fell in love with alternative rock during that time.


When Piper was 16 her mom dropped out of the band and moved back home to their home town. Since at her school Piper has auditioned for many musicals and starred in them and plays gigs all around her town.

Background: A bad chemistry final in high school made her dislike chemistry for years, so the 6'2", 200 lbs woman turned to physics. She became an once-promising soft condensed matter virtuoso in the meantime. At the end of undergrad, Janick chose to attend Columbia for her PhD, but she ended up cutting short her stay in graduate school as a result of treating graduate school as if it was one long study abroad, despite physics not being a field where cultural immersion was a prerequisite for research effectiveness. However, in the classroom, she was simply brilliant and she often lashed out at mathematical issues with the material, to the point she could be termed a "resident mathematician". She ended up being ineffectual as a researcher and her tenure in New York City lasted two short years. Also, as a proficient card counter, she led Columbia to victory in the Ivy League poker championship both years she made the team. Her lack of effectiveness as a researcher made her bemoan her fate, all the while playing in the casinos as if it was her day job.


Personality: In an attempt to stabilize her life, she took up to teaching high school math and physics - she felt well-qualified to do both. She likes to think that she has the knowledge and intellect necessary to teach college-level courses, but she can find it difficult not to get over high schoolers' heads. She is also famous for her usage of "vector grades" whereby the grades are handed out as two-dimensional vectors for homework (she does not give any tests whatsoever) or four-dimensional vectors for lab reports. Finally, she knows she is brilliant and makes no effort of hiding it but avoids rubbing it in people's faces.

Background: Arsenic had a rather tough childhood. His father died in combat while reporting in Iraq when he was six years old. His mom started dating again, and time after time her boyfriends would despise Arsenic. The man she eventually married was a drunkard who dealt his mom marijuana and crack. Arsenic never once touched a single drug because of it. His step-father gets angry at Arsenic all the time, and often beats the kid up for talking back or even looking at his step-father the wrong way.

However, the few friends Alden had know they can be dedicated, brutally honest and with an insatiable taste for adventure that can constantly gets them and those they drag along in trouble. He doesn't really get to talk to his parents all that often, and currently he is still living with his relatives. His parents visit him whenever they can and they always do something fun. Personality: Ekko avoids conflict like it were the plague. He doesn't like to talk to people, he's polite, and he often finds himself quietly observing everyone around him without participating much.


Background: Ekko comes from a poor family that often found themselves homeless. His mother got pregnant often, but only kept the two boy babies she had, Nick and Ekko. The two boys never met their father, and have two different fathers. His mother is a prostitute that spends most of her money on cocaine and heroine, leaving the two boys to fend for themselves. It was too hard for Nick. When Ekko was 12 and Nick was 17, Nick turned to marijuana and alcohol to drown his sorrows. He would come back to their apartment drunk, and when Nick is drunk he's angry. He'd lose his temper on Ekko and beat him to a pulp. That started Ekko's introversion. In seventh grade, kids at school would beat him up and bully him. He became suicidal, and almost acted on it once. Then he ran away. He was caught, of course, but was put into the foster system. Wherever he went, he was bullied and picked one and beaten, but it always seemed at least a little better than being with his mom and brother. He hasn't been adopted, and he probably never will be.

Unable to be leashed or chained, Alice can't be tied down to anyone or anything. She hates being told what to do, and likes to be in charge of her own actions--her own life.


Background:


Growing up, she didn't have much of a mother figure, nor a father figure. Her mom walked out on their family when Alice had turned six, and her father, who loved her mom dearly, drowned himself in alcohol to rid of his pains and sufferings. A year later, at age seven, her dad died in a car accident after being intoxicated one night. At such a young age, she had lost both her parents. None of her relatives were willing to take her, and she had been put into the foster system. Escaping when she was just ten, she lived wherever she could. A strong girl she was, so she learned to survive and took on jobs a normal twelve-year-old wouldn't be able to handle. By thirteen, she started living by herself in an apartment which she was paying for herself. With no one to regulate her activities, she easily started walking down a slightly twisted path, although not completely veering off in the wrong direction. Without a purpose, a dream, or a goal, she spends her nights partying, yet still attends school.
