Realistic or Modern Just Survive Somehow (A zombie rp)

Catharsis

Too Far Gone

In the beginning, there was no hope for anyone. Zombies were everywhere. Every time you turned your head for a brief second, you risked your life. This was until a man and his two children discovered Brason Elementary School.

I know, school doesn't seem like the ideal place to be during a zombie apocalypse, however the large 15 foot metal fence may make you believe otherwise. You see, Brason Elementary was a private school built in the late 1970's. This school provided shelter, education, and meals for all students who paid tuition. The large metal fences were built in the early 2000's after a student on campus was kidnapped.

The school now holds 435 classrooms, and two separate dorm sections which each hold 100 rooms each. In front of the building, near the west wing there is a large playground which was built for the children who attended. On the east wing, there is a outside food court. Sounds almost to good to be true right?

Now, the only problem is keeping the so called sanctuary safe from walkers, or y'know.. a little human competition.

Sam woke to the sound of rain pouring down outside. She slipped out of her covers and tiptoed to the large glass window that hung the the wall near her. From the classroom that her family shared, she could see the garden quite well. She watched as rain water brought up the mud that the plants were buried in and smiled. She hadn't seen rain in a very long time. Behind her, she heard a small voice "What are you doing?" Hope asked sounding tired and irritated. "Be quiet or you'll wake mom and Jace." Sam hissed back before going on "Come here.". Hope wiggled out of the sheets that she used for blankets and walked over as she stretched her small arms.

As Hope looked out the window she felt a bout of excitement wash over her and smiled. "It's really raining." she cheered quietly. Her older sister began to smile more as well. "I know. It's amazing." Sam said back putting her arm around the girl's shoulder. Hope continued to smile as she looked over at the garden. Just last week, her teacher had taken her and her classmates there as a field trip. They planted flowers around the garden's exterior. "Viola" as her teacher called it. Hope's face sunk into a frown as she looked on, "Do you think maybe my flowers made it?" she asked, but knew Sam had no clue what she was talking about. Sam never listened to her. Instead of waiting for her reply Hope turned around and looked at the clock on the wall; she had learned how to read time just a week after getting here, so she knew now that it was almost 7 A.M. The day started at 8, so it was time to wake her brother and mommy.

3 Hours Later

Jace stuck his hands deep into the mud that was now his garden and made an effort to straighten his tomato stake. The rain had stopped about an hour ago and now he had to fix up his garden. There wasn't much damage, and luckily two hours of rain didn't drown his plants. He hoped the community would be as lucky next time, but knew it was unlikely. He looked to Emmeline, one of the only other gardeners there were and leaned up, his hands covered in mud. "Do you mind straightening the other 4 stakes for me? I want to got to Mom and see if the kids are going to help out today." he asked politely. Usually the two worked in shifts, but today they needed to work together to make sure that the crops would be okay. (@WhisperSweetNothings )

Lisa handed out copies of "To Kill a Mockingbird" to each of her students. She had a whole plan revolving around the book, and she was excited to actually have a lesson thought out. "From here on out, we'll be reading this book everyday." she said smiling. She loved teaching literature because it was one of the only things she actually knew well. She rarely taught science or math, but history and literature were taught almost everyday. Her kids may not ever be able to balance an equation, but at least they'll know how to comprehend writing, and that's more than what most kids these days got to learn.

Artorias had woken up early just like he normally does, he needed some time to run maintenance on his leg; he and the rest of his Navy mates occupied the nurses office and a couple nearby classrooms for the infirmary. Although right now he was in the garage where all the school maintenance equipment was. He had detached his leg and had it on the work bench, running through the list in his head of all the things he needed to check, from the gyroscope mechanism, axles in the knee to the rotator cuffs in the tibia\fibula component, and most importantly the attachement point on his leg that allowed the leg to be connected in the first place. "This gyroscope is off by a few degrees, my leg will start bending at the wrong time if i dont recalibrate it," he muttered to himself. "After this I need to go find a scavenger and give him a list of things that I need, I just hope he can find me a functioning car battery." He had finally finished his maintenance and reattached his leg. "And to think I still love sharks," the very same thing he tells himself every morning. "MEOW!" his feline companion was up, already begging for its breakfast. "Hey Mew! Have a good nights rest? You want your breakfast?? You gotta wait till its actually breakfast time buddy." He bent down and petted Mew, the cat rubbed up against his hand and purred loudly. "Alright buddy, hop on" He pulled out a customized quiver that he modified to hold his cat, which Mew happily jumped in to. He strapped his quiver on and went in search of a scavenger to handle his 'grocery list.'

ROMANOVA RIDERS

23 hunter outgoing

Romanova's Caribbean optics snaked over the zombie infested landscape, the world seemed to be crumbling apart but it was just as beautiful as it was before, even with the blood. Leaning down, the female peeked through the Sniper scope, examining the borders with care before stepping back to sling the gun's strap over one shoulder to secure it. Every morning she had climbed upon the school's roof, it was a simple bliss that she had enjoyed each day, and after the rain everything seemed to be enhanced in beauty. Tearing her eyes away from the view, she got to her feet. Getting on top of the roof was easy, but getting down was another story! Exhaling, the former Air Force pilot leaped down, her battle scared hands gripping a sturdy storm pipe that was bent outwards, allowing her to swing herself down to the ground. Smiling slightly, Romanova spotted Atorias, his feline friend upon his quiver as he was in search of a Scavenger. "Atorias!" Romanova called out as she made her way towards him, as he was the first she had spotted all morning.

Artorias jumped at hearing his name, he turned around and was greeted by Rome, one of the scavengers of Sanctuary. He smiled, "Well good morning Rome, taking in the view as usual?" Mew leaned out of his quiver and rested upon Artorias shoulders, "Meow!" purred the fluff ball happily. Mew pretty much loved just about everyone in Sanctuary, there wasn't a single person he couldn't get along with. Artorias laughed, "Thats his version of a good morning...I think, but I have a favor to ask if you're interested in gathering the materials for me that is." He pulled out a list from his lab coat pocket, it was a small list, but the contents were important to him.

Trap list:

x2 Iron rods

x2 long copper or iron wire

x1 Car battery

A large amount of table salt (about 1 lb would be appreciated)

Blake Tract

8:10 A.M.

Blake awoke to the sound of people walking down the hallways and the quiet voices outside. He rolled over to kiss Alyssa good morning, but she was gone. As Blake looked up at the clock, he realized he overslept a little.

Alyssa has to be on her morning walk as always, she usually wakes up around seven anyway, Blake thought in his head. He stretched his arms and grabbed his hoodie and backpack and made his way down the hallway. He caught Alyssa walking in the building as he turned the corner.

"Good Morning beautiful" he said as he hugged her, "how was your walk?"

Alyssa Brown

6:56 A.M.

Alyssa woke up to the sound of the rain pounding against the window. She looked over at Blake that was sound asleep. She thought to herself, How could anybody sleep with this much noise outside. She shook her head and got up from the bed. She looked at the clock as her vision cleared and saw they she got up four minutes before she usually does. She grabbed her bag and looked for a rain coat that she brought and never took out. She finally found it by rummaging through her bag. As she left the classroom she looked at her bow that she has been working on and smiled at it. Almost done she thought.

She left the building and put up her hood while the rain started to die down. Alyssa walks the same route every day and nothing changed that today. She made her way around the whole building, checking for any impurities in the fence that could be a danger. She couldn't find any and kept going around the school. She smiled as she sat down in her favorite spot to listen to the nature. Usually every morning Blake gets up with her but she wanted him to get rest. As an hour passes Alyssa decides to go back and wake up Blake. She does this every morning to calm her stress levels and get rid of any anxiety. She didn't want to end up like her dad.

As she walks back she starts to hear the voices of the community waking up. She looks at Blake's watch that she put on before leaving and she sees it's past 8. She walks into the building and sees Blake rounding the corner. Alyssa smiled as she always does when shes with him and replied

"It was great, I'm sad that you couldn't get up to go with me though" she said sarcastically, "I was actually just going to kick you out of bed if you were still sleeping"

They both laughed and smiled at each other. After their conversation, they walked out of the school with each other. Blake saw Romonova and Artorias talking right outside the building and waved to them. Both Blake and Alyssa walked up to them.

"In about a half hour I'm going to get some regular supplies, you guys need any help?" Blake said, "I could go with one of you"

"I'm also going to go hunting in a bit to get some food for the community, I would appreciate any help if you can afford it" Alyssa said with a smile, "We just both have to grab our weapons from the armory."

ROMANOVA RIDERS

23 Hunter Outgoing

"Hey," Romanova greeting with a small smile, a slight laugh escaping her lips as she watched the furry animal crawl upon his shoulders. Brushing the brunette locks from her face, her eyes snaked from the cats own pair of twinkling orbs to his own. "Yeah, no problem," Romanova answered, as she longed to get out of the camp, and strangely enough; she craved her daily dose of Zombie bloodshed. Taking the list from Atorias's hands, she glanced at it, shrugging as she scanned it thoroughly "should be easy enough, although, collecting one pound of salt might be difficult but I'm sure I can come up with something," the female stated, winking with amusement, as she could always get her hands on something.

Romanova tilted her dark cranium slightly as she thought, a deserted restaurant or pub in town would surely have enough salt and everything else was quite easy to collect. And her fellow canine friend, Darke, a well rounded German Shepherd, would be happy to stretch his legs, as he had been cooped up in the school for several days. Darke was Romanova's dog, a canine she had found huddled in the corner of a near by store.
"So, what do you plan on making, anyways?" She asked with sudden curiosity.

Logan Moir.

25.

The day was just getting started and Logan was already getting frustrated. Laying underneath an old battled and bruised Jeep Wrangler he grasped the wrench on the floor next to him, attempting to hit something although to his surprise it was solid and the wrench came slipping from his grasp and fell to strike him on the jaw. Alarmed by the sudden pain, Logan jumped in surprise an ended up clashing his forehead with the sub frame of the jeep. Groaning softly he rolled himself out from underneath the vehicle an placed a hand on his head "Damn it" his deep husky toned voice rang out through the small garage that was set up next to the school. Logan had a very deep tone of voice with a slight country twang to it. Grumbling as he stood up he moved to the front of the Jeep to take a look at the wiring.

Logan had always been an early riser an enjoyed having his hands into a few projects at once. That probably explained why he had more than just the jeep to work with. Logan had built his own truck from scratch before the outbreak of zombies and he had to admit there wasnt much his truck couldnt accomplish, however he was making runs to gas stations with jerry cans quite frequently. Over the past few weeks, Logan had been able to collect 15 Jerry cans full for his own vehicle, but he did have about 20 jerry cans of regular fuel set aside in the shop for everyone else. Luckily for Logan his truck was a diesel. Wearing his truck keys around his neck on a thick chain was the only way he had ever been able to keep the keys, knowing very well if he hadnt had them around his neck that he would of lost them. The rain outside batted against the roof of the shop noisily but Logan didnt seem to mind as his hands searched for any unconnected or lose wires.

As he searched he happened to hear a grunt of some sort as he frowned, curiously moving around the jeep he raised an eyebrow at his companion lying on the cold floor, although the pet did have a thick flannel coat to lay on so he wasnt totally lost. The large pure black great dane lifted his head an tilted it slightly as he saw his new found master looking at him. Logan shook his head slightly an smirked "Tank, stop moping we will go out for a cruise soon"

Logan had been out searching for vehicle fuel about a month ago when he stumbled upon the large brute at the gas station, locked away in the managers office. Logan had saved him and ransacked the store of all its remaining dog food. Sure having a pet in these conditions was difficult but he wasnt going to leave the poor guy. Logan named the dog Tank because of his massive size. The dane groaned an flopped onto his side lazily, he did enjoy truck rides an being a dog of his size, jumping up in the lifted vehicle was no issue.

Artorias smiled at having to explain his scientific idea to Rome, "well you see sodium is highly volatile if it comes in contact with water, I need table salt, aka sodium chloride. What I plan on doing is heating the salt to a molten form and then through electrolysis I'm going to evaporate the chlorine from the salt so I'm left with nothing but sodium! A home made explosive for traps around Sanctuary and maybe some hand made grenades for you guys as well if I can figure out how to make a two chamber system for such devices." Artorias kept going on about his science project when Blake and Alyssa showed up. "Good morning you two, have a good nights rest?" Again Mew turned to the couple and greeted them in his own way. "Meow!!" Said the fur ball happily, he began purring loudly and rubbing his head up against Artorias face. "I'm good Blake, Rome here is going to handle my shopping list, although if you happen to find any table salt while you're out there, please bring me as much as you can, this experiment I'm hoping will help us save ammo every time a herd comes by....Oh an balloons! And some potting clay! I just got an idea." And with that Artorias set off to propose his idea about the traps to the leader, as he turned around, Mew looked back and gave one final "Meow!" before settling back into Artorias' quiver.

Ace Santana

Waking up groggy as ever ace was trying not to think of the past in the military as he tries to stay awake as he never gets enough sleep because of his nightmares. He gets up from bed and begins to dress himself and is about to put his rings on but starts to have a flashback of his family and the day he found them dead and is soon rocked back in reality when someone yells at him to get ready its late. So he finishes up and goes out and walks around the school to clear his mind of the memories soon he ends up outside and feels the humid air hit his face as he thinks of how the day will end up. He never liked humid air because of how uncomfortable it made him feel so he just began to collect some stones for his machete to sharpen it so its ready for him when he goes hunting. He always liked to go hunting outside of the sanctuary seeing the animals and nature for it is as it really never changes so quiet and tranquail that is until he has to break the silence by shooting his gun and bag his trophy to bring back to the sanctuary. Mostly deer and smaller animals like Squirrels, rabbits and birds he would bring a meduim size sled and some rope t to carry the deer as they were usually to big to carry all the way back to the sanctuary. After collecting all the stones he needed he sat down and began to sharpen his machete only to be hit by another flashback of a man sharpening a clever and was about to cut wat looked like an arm, Ace was rubbing the rock harder and harder on the machete the more he thought about the man only for the rock to split in to and break causing him to cut his hand and cause to to bleed out as he held his hand in pain. He began to get up and rushed himself to the infirmary to get it treated.

Alex had woken up a lot later than usual. He was surprised that no one had woken him, the group had proven that they did not mind doing so.

He rolled off of his mattress and on to the floor. He looked around his dorm, and groaned. He had to have the smallest dorm in the whole school, and it didn't help that even months after the world ended it still smelled like weed. He covered his nose with the collar of his shirt and pulled on his pants. He pulled his black beanie over his head , making no effort to look stylish, and bolted out of his room. When he did so, his chest rammed into some one else's and he jumped back. He took a moment to look at the victim and relaxed. "What do you want Sam?" he asked with a sigh as he pulled the door shut.

"I was told to wake your lazy ass up." she said smirking as she pulled at her jacket. Alex pushed her aside, and began walking down the empty corridor. "Well unfortunately for them, this lazy ass got itself out of bed." he replied somewhat annoyed.

It seemed like everyone in the community made a job of babysitting him, even the ones younger than him. He didn't really mind Sam, but that was probably only because the two had been together a few times.. if you catch my drift. He was used to her sarcasm. Alex pushed open the metal doors to the dorm complex and walked outside. The sun was shining down hard today, and that was a relief. Before, it had been freezing cold but now it seemed summer was making its way back round. Alex trudged over to his van and overheard a few people talking. He turned around to see Artorias and Romanova talking about supplies.

He pulled open his van door and marched over to the two with his hands in his pockets. He saw Artorias hand Romanova a list and he grabbed it out of her hands. "May I remind you that you're a hunter. Not a supply runner. That's my job." he said looking to Romanova. He scanned over the list for a moment before raising an eyebrow at Artorias. "What the hell are you planning on making with this? A bomb? You gonna bomb us?" he said laughing before tossing the list back. "I hope that list has been approved by leader. You know hunter's aren't allowed to go looking for supplies." he added before turning back to his van and getting in. He began pulling out and once he was sure he was out of site, opened his glove box and pulled out a medicine bottle. His hands shook as he pulled out three tiny pills and put them in his mouth. This was bound to be a good day.

ROMANOVA RIDERS

23 hunter outgoing

The former pilot nodded with amusement, as the man's words seemed so foreign to her, and they were. Science seemed to be an entirely new language! She had recalled learning about it in High School, but the lessons she was taught seemed to have floated from her mind like a cloud in the sky.But who cared, if he managed to make something nifty, she was in! And the fact that she would have a chance to blow stuff up was just the sugar on top. "Sounds like a plan, Atorias," Romanova replied before he headed off with Mew upon his quiver.

Looking up, she spotted Blake and Alyssa who approached, waving. Rome welcomed them with a half wave back before her hand returned to her side, where her fingers caressed the handle of her knife. She had no intention to draw the weapon. but it seemed to be a habit of hers now that war was at every twist and turn. Hearing the sound of footsteps from afar, Rome glanced over her shoulder to spot Alex. He was a good guy, yet Romanova always seemed to tease him the most. She wasn't quite sure why, maybe it was the fact that he was younger than she, or it was a possibility that he had a certain character trait that caused Romanova's sarcasm to reveal itself.

Raising an eyebrow at Aex's words, she frowned, "Who lit the fuse on your tampon, Alex?" Romanova replied sarcastically, a smirk lining her lips. The guy was right, after all, she was a hunter, not a supply runner! But Romanova always seemed to jump at the first opportunity that opened up to get out of camp. There was something about getting out of the school, freedom, maybe? Or the adrenalin rush and excitement that she received each time she managed to go hunting. But don't get her wrong, she loved the school, it was a safe heaven, it was home. Biting her lip, Romanova turned to Blake and Alyssa, smiling slightly, as they were always friendly faces. In fact, everyone in the camp wasn't too bad, but she rarely knew anyone, other than their basic information. "Great, Alyssa, you and me can go out and it looks like Blake and Alex can go out for supplies, sound good?" Romanova asked, tilting her head as she tossed the list back to Alex.

Emmeline was one of the few survivors to wake up early, but on this particular day, the rain soothed her aching nerves enough to leave the woman in a deep slumber. The smell of mildew and worms crept through her cracked window, causing Emmeline to wake up with drooping eyes. She rubbed at them with the back of her hand, blue irises examining the grey skies and low clouds passing by. The drift of a cool breeze from the window made the scrawny woman shiver. Several footsteps and voices could be heard outside of the school, her head leaning closer to the window to confirm her hearing. "Shoot." She mumbled to herself and lazily got up from her position, sloppily making the bed by throwing the large blanket atop other layers of bed sheets. She was for the first time late on her shift. Her hair cascaded down to her chest like golden tendrils, a few strands sticking out from the top due to her sleep. The blonde woman hid her untidy bed head by capping on a turquoise beanie. Emmeline pulled on a pair of dirtied jeans and shrugged on her olive green Patagonia Prarie Dawn jacket. The hem of the outdoor jacket gently flapped over her knees after she dug her tiny feet into rain boots. This was her go-to outfit whenever the day called for rain or snow. Emmeline stealthily made her way out of the building and towards the garden, spotting Jace there. She slightly blushed for being late on her shift and chewed on her lower lip, walking around the crops cautiously to stand by his side. "Hey, and yeah, of course." Emmeline nonchalantly replied as to hide her embarrassment, her lithe hands reaching down to grab at one of the stakes. The mud stuck to the edges of her boots as she stumbled around to place the stake in the wet and soft soil. She bent down to examine the tomato plant, delicate fingers feeling the crisp edges of the leaves. Emmeline would wave her hand at Jace to signal a goodbye before watching him leave, feeling a pang of sadness overwhelm her steady heart. She liked the company as she worked on the garden, no matter how fine she seemed by herself. Emmeline shook her head from these peculiar thoughts and went back to placing the stakes into the dirt, passing by each plant to see if they were okay after the impact of the harsh rain earlier that day.

Ellette "Ellie" Jaunai

Ellie shivered as she awoke in her darkened dorm room, the forgotten open windows along the back wall allowing the chill from the air outside to seep into the usual warmth of the school. She was tempted to burrow into the mounds of blankets that currently surrounded her, if only to offset the cold, but decided against the urge and instead pushed them off, standing up with a stretch. Once the window was closed, Ellie routinely got changed into some weather appropriate attire, finishing the haphazard look off with a pair of beige gloves and a messy ponytail. She stashed her knives alongside her belt, made sure everything was in place, and headed towards the door.

"Piper! C'mon, girl. It's time to get up." The auburn haired female called out to the dog resting along the floor. She couldn't help the little laugh that escaped from between her lips as the aforementioned dog let out a whine of utter loathing, looking as if she was taking her sweet time to actually get to the door. But, once she was out, Ellie closed the wooden divider and trudged her way outdoors, Piper tagging along right beside.

Upon the first steps out from the inside of the school grounds, Ellie could tell that it had rained. The ground was damp with water, and puddles littered the area. On a normal day, she would be positively ecstatic that the weather consisted of dark clouds and a veil of rain, but not so much as of today. She was supposed to go on a supply run later when the sun was higher up, and with the ground currently saturated, it is going to be a bit more rough to navigate and explore. Especially if it started to rain,
again.

Ellie shook her head in disdain, hoping for only the best to come out of the run. As she continued walking, making sure to glance down every few minutes to confirm that Piper was still by her side, she saw quite a bit of residents already up and doing their own things. She probably should've waved, or at least of acknowledged someone, but she just kept on walking. After all, she barely even knows these people, let alone trusts them. It's pretty unnerving that she has to put her faith in strangers while on a supply route, as well as to guard the safe house from threats. Who knew what these people were capable of, or what they themselves have done throughout the current five months it's been since this whole shit storm began. Of course, the same could be said for herself. And she's done some pretty dark and regrettable things ever since the dead started living again.

Pushing the looming thoughts and memories threatening to come forth away, Ellie picked up the pace for her quest to the armory, hoping to get her duel pistols back for her run. The only thing she should be worrying about right now is the day ahead of her, not the months behind.

(Hey, look at that, I finally posted something!)

Callum looked at Lazuli with puppy dog eyes. "Pleeeeaaase can I tag along? I wanna come with just this once, LuLu!" Lazuli shook her head and tried not to laugh. "Just this once? Cal, we both know full well that you shall continue your persistence even if I do allow you to accompany me on my supply run." He got up and walked over to his adoptive sister and put his arm on her shoulder. "You know you wanna let me, you know you do. And I'm sick of being stuck behind the fence. I wanna go back into the world and have a little fun. There are only a few spots within the premises to be able to train, and my freerunning abilities are getting rusty!"

Lazuli shook her head in annoyance. "Trust me, you are supposed to stay in school and that does happen to include today. No you may not accompany me, Cal." He took his arm off of his sister and made a pouty face that made him look like a little kid about to have a temper tantrum. "But why? I'm not stupid and I keep up on my studies pretty well!" "However true that may be, you must stay in school. If you would like it, I could bring back a gift for you to compensate, I suppose." Callum's face returned to normal and the corners of his mouth lifted ever so slightly in a small smile. "Okay LuLu, but only if that gift is Dragonball Z manga, k?" Lazuli nodded sharply in acknowledgement.

Jace smiled and thanked Emmeline. Before walking away, he rubbed the dirt off his hands onto his jeans and made an effort to look at least a little clean before going to his mother. She was a freak when it came to their cleanliness. " I'll see you in a minute then. " he said to Emmeline and waved. He began to walk back towards the school, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he did so. He could see many people were getting ready to depart for their usual routine and felt a pang of sadness. His job did not give him authorization to leave the community. It wasn't like he couldn't go out, but if he wanted to he would have to make a break in leader's busy schedule in order to do so. Then he would have to get a buddy. The whole buddy system was what killed the idea off, he wasn't in kindergarten, plus he would rather have that time to himself. Supply runners and hunters were really the only ones who could leave alone anytime. Once he was inside the school, he took a right turn into his mother's class. He didn't really bother to knock and saw that his mom was giving instruction. "Sorry to interrupt, but I need to know if me and Emmeline should expect the kids at the garden today." he heard his mom let out a sigh as she looked to the calendar on the wall. "Jace, they just helped yesterday. You know that." she replied sounding slightly annoyed. Jace rolled his eyes and turned back around "Alright. See you guys Tuesday I guess." he said as he began to walk out. His mother called out behind him, "Get back to work, and if you see Sam or Cal tell them they need to come to class or i'll assign extra work.". Jace laughed at his mothers request and continued out the building. He knew Sam well enough to know that she wouldn't care even if he asked. He also didn't know who Cal was. So he just walked back to the garden quietly and got back to work. "They aren't coming." he said once seeing Emmeline.

( @WhisperSweetNothings @AndroidEighteen )

Sam continued to walk around the men's dorms even after Alex had left. Her plan was to stay there until class was over, or until Alex came back so she would have someone to hang out with. She knew it would be another couple hours before Alex got back or class ended, but she didn't mind the wait, she knew nobody would be coming to their dorms for a while anyways. Sam got bored just walking and pulled out her key to Alex's dorm and pushed inside. The place was a rathole. She sighed and threw herself back on his bed. She began digging through Alex's bedside and found some pretty interesting stuff: The holy bible, Playboy magazine, a pack of gum ( she pocketed this ), 4x empty pill bottles, oh yeah and condoms. She laughed, just going through his nightstand proved he was a complete loser.

Alex stopped what he was doing and hid the pills in his pocket before rolling down his side window and looking at Romanova, "He's not coming with me. Let's make that clear right now." he said slightly annoyed. He had enough on his plate without becoming Blake's driver. Besides, he already had plans for today that certainly didn't involve him. ( @electra @LolitsJames )

Hope laid her head down on her desk in frustration. The teacher had been gone for what seemed like hours. She had no friends in her class to talk to so she had nothing better to do than sleep. She sorta wished she was a big kid, because that would've meant she would have mommy as a teacher, and she would be old enough to work in the garden, something her brother and sister could already do. Hope turned her head and looked out the window and watched rain drip off the roof of the school and slide down the window. She wished it would rain again.

Lazuli gave a teasing smile. "Cal, you had better arrive at class relatively soon or I am going to have to drag you there myself." She laughed and Cal stuck out his tongue. "Fine, but find me a Dragonball Z manga on one of your supply runs or I'll have to tell you my favorite jokes. See ya LuLu!" He slung his backpack over his left shoulder and ducked out of the sizable dorm room that Lazuli and he shared. Lazuli simply shook her head, laughing as she grabbed her own larger backpack and started out of the building.

Callum rushed to the school building and into his classroom. He went over to the empty desk at the far back of the classroom and slid into the chair, emptying his backpack onto the desk. He slouched and tried to seem invisible, but of course it didn't work. Practically everyone was staring at him. He hesitantly spoke, figuring that at least a few people would make fun of his heavy Australian accent. "Sorry I'm late." He put his hand to his face and brushed his blonde curls to the side in annoyance. There was always one curl that always fell in front of his face that he could never fix without cutting it off, but he didn't care for haircuts anymore.

Lazuli headed towards the fence, knowing her supply run was to find some books for the school's future literature once they finished To Kill a Mockingbird, and to find some blankets since the whole community wasn't well equipped for the upcoming winter. She exited the community and started off in the direction of Southwest, knowing there was an industrialist kind of city that way that would definitely have what she needed- and possibly the Dragonball Z manga Callum wanted.

Artorias continued to walk along the building exterior trying to find the leader, "Hmmm I'm gonna need a lot of salt Mew one pound is enough for an experiment but it would be best to start having mass quantities so I can make more sodium grenades." Mew climbed out onto Artorias' shoulders and meowed questioningly, "Mrow?" Artorias scratched under his chin, "I should talk to more scavs and have as much of them bring me salt, more people gathering salt means more more salt for my experiment. More salt means more sodium, more sodium means more explosives." "Mew!" Mew licked Artorias' cheek once and lowered himself back into the quiver. Artorias kept walking and saw the others starting to get up, "I'm gonna need to get back to the infirmary soon, I'll have to talk to the leader another time." It was then he saw Lazuli heading towards the gate, he perked up immediately, "good, another scav, she can get me some salt as well!" He immediately sprinted towards her, with every stride of his right mechanical leg propulsing him into the air. "Lazuli!!" He yelled hoping to get her attention, he started slowing down, the pnuematics beneath the tibial rotator cuff above his ankle makes him run fast but makes it hard for him to come to a complete stop without risking of bursting the air tank within his leg. "Lazuli!" He yelled again, not sure if she heard him the first time.

Lazuli jerked her head towards the sound of someone calling her name- and by the sounds of it, it was Artorias. She stopped and looked back at him, retracing her steps a little until she was a few feet from him and his little companion. "Yes Artorias, what is it? Are you asking for a favor of some sort?" Lazuli personally loved the way her voice seemed precise and the way she worded things. She tilted her head slightly and looked at him with an expression of curiosity. Not many people in the community cared to speak to her that often, so anytime someone did, she was always caught slightly off-guard.

Artorias came to an acceptable stop and was about to tell Lazuli what he needed, but was interupted by a "Meow!" Mew came out again and greeted Lazuli. "Really Mew must you always interrupt me?" He started rubbing the cats head and turned his attention to Lazuli, "Yes i actually do have a favor, its a small dont worry, I just need you to bring me as much table salt as you can. You see im gonna invent some devices that involve the salt, and well...It'll help with ammo conservation and also allow for distractions if need be, along with the fact that itll blow the undead into pieces. I plan on making traps with em as well along the perimeter of Sanctuary. Im also gonna need some modeling clay if you can find any, though regular clay could also work." He finished explaining what he needed to explain, "Meow," Mew was staring at her intently with his blue eyes. Artorias liked to think he was friends with everybody in Sanctuary, even that pain in the ass Alex.

Lazuli laughed as Artorias' little furry companion interrupted him with an adorable meow. She listened intently, curious of how the leader was going to think of his invention. "Acceptable. I am relatively curious as to how you'd make explosives with salt, but that is not my department of expertise, so you can see how I would question it. Either way, I'm sure I can spare some time in my supply run to acquire some table salt for you. Good day." She gave a sharp nod as she turned and continued Southwest with a bit of a smile on her face. As she walked along, she spoke to herself about many things, telling her feelings to thin air as she continued Southwest.

Emmeline fell on her rump as her legs gave way from squatting for too long. "Dammit..." She cursed beneath her breath, contracting her brows in a sullen manner to scowl for her weak figure. Although she was a farmer's daughter and tirelessly cultivated acres of crops, Emmeline was born with fragility. Her willowy physique could cut and bruise easily from a simple fall. Every waking moment, Emmeline questions her purpose surviving the apocalypse when she was without a doubt fodder for the creepy crawlers. Digging up a handful of soil in her palm, Emmeline crushed the dirt in her hand and observed water streaming out from it. She hastily got up from where she stood, feeling a small wave of nausea from the quick movement. Emmeline took large strides towards the garden shed and swung the wooden door wide open, inhaling the strong stench of manure. Peering through the dense atmosphere of the sultry potting shed, the female went in and found what she was searching for: compost. With a strained grunt, Emmeline carried a large bag of the organic matter and hustled out of the shed, nearly falling forwards as she set the putrid sac down by the garden. She wiped her sweaty forehead with her stretched sleeve, a huff escaping her pursed lips. Emmeline noticed Jace exiting the school from her peripheral vision and flashed a small smile his way. She frowned once Jace notified her that the children were not coming here today. "Oh, that's a bummer. There's always next time. I'm just about finished. You can relax more if you'd want. I'm sorry I was late today by the way." She would look up at him with eyes that were like unending seas of gunmetal blue. Emmeline's honeyed-words hung in the air as she equipped herself a tiller and loosened the soil, working the compost into the ground. She then proceeded to fix the garden by smoothing the surface with a rake, fixing the base of her beanie every time she leaned over the plants to gently examine their vitality. Adding the compost would improve the drainage, or so she hoped. While the rain did not entirely harm the garden, a few plants were left slanted and uprooted. The weather would soon brighten and rejuvenate the plants to full health. Emmeline rocked back against her heels as she stared up at the dull sky, the shadowed clouds casting a solemn expression on her face. "Jace, do you think that we can sneak out of here?" She questioned out of curiosity and boredom.

Artorias turned around and started making his way back to his infirmary, "Lazuli has a very proper speech pattern Mew, its interesting, but its nice to talk to someone with such formality." He walked into the school, making his way to the Nurses office. He would wave to the others as he made his way, he felt that as the head doctor he needs to be nice to everyone, which he didnt mind, he liked talking with the others. Being locked away at the black tape site made him long for people to talk to, the other researchers are good friends of his, but even he gets annoyed just talking about science and weaponization of the sh... He paused when he got to the infirmary and saw Ace just sitting there with a bleeding hand. "Ace? What the hell did you do? Now im gonna need to disinfect and stitch that up."

Blake looked at Alex as he made a remark that startled him.

"Alright dude" Blake said holding up his hands like he was under arrest, "I'll just go alone, don't worry about it"

Alyssa laughed at Blake's remark and then nodded back at Romanova.

"Yeah sure, I'll just have to go get my hunting weapons at the armory. How about we meet at the gate entrance in less than ten minutes?"

@electra

Blake and Alyssa both gave a wave to the group and started off to the armory. The air was humid because of the storm that just passed and they could point out many wet puddles around the community. Blake made a joke about jumping in a puddle next to Alyssa and she pushed him away. They both laughed and walked inside the school. The school was hallways were empty and they could hear the classes being prepared with the kids inside. The teacher's voice could be heard while they were walking down the hallway, echoing every step they took. They finally reached the armory and entered the room.

The room had Armory written on the chalkboard and it was apparent that the armory had massive amounts of weapons. There was a guard sitting on one of the armory crates that had some guns in it and he looked up when they walked in. There usually is a guard on duty in the armory at all times because the kids might sneak off and find the Armory, something bad could really happen. Alyssa went first and asked for her crossbow that she got as a gift from her father. The crossbow had a wooden frame with a black handle. Alyssa's full name was written on a piece of white painter's tape that was losing it's grip. Alyssa put her pressure on it as to keep it from falling off. She also asked for more than enough arrows for her crossbow so she could successfully hunt without being in danger of running out. The guard gave her enough and she backed off and started to load her bag the arrows. She looked in her bag and looked at her contents: Three knives, around seven arrows, a granola bar, and two bottles of water.

Blake walked up to the guard and asked for his hand gun that he brought to the community. The guard grabbed the hand gun and some ammo, as well as his machete. Blake smiled,

"You know me to well" he said as both the guard and him laughed.

Blake loaded his bag too and checked if he was missing anything. His bag included: A knife, a granola bar, some ammo.

"All damn, I forgot to grab a wate--" Blake got interrupted as Alyssa threw him a bottle.

"Thanks" Blake said and they both smiled.

"You want your baseball bat too?" the guard said as they were leaving.

"No it's okay, not today" Blake exclaimed turning the corner.

Leaving the maze of hallways in the school once more, they both headed to the gate. Nearing the gate, they looked around the community and saw how great it looked. They both rather be here than somewhere else.

Alyssa hugged Blake goodbye, "You be safe, okay?" she said, "I'm going to wait here for Romanova".

Blake nodded his head and said the same thing. Now that he knows nobody's coming with him, he's going to grab necessary supplies in his run. Any canned food, any school supplies for the kids, and if he could get anything that Artorias wanted. He didn't want to be weighed down by anything, so a car battery would not really work out. He will still look out for salt though, because Blake woudn't mind having some hand-held explosives. He started out the gate and turned East down a road that he's never been before.

Time to explore, he thought in his head.

Alyssa stayed back at the gate watching Blake walk down the road knowing he would be safe. She walked back to a bicycle rack and leaned on it waiting for Romanova.

Jace had begun to pull a few ripe tomatoes of their vines and sat them in his wheelbarrow. They looked nice, and he knew the community would be glad for a few fresh vegetables after a long winter of canned produce. He thought about the winter and how harsh it had been on him and his family. It was rare they came upon food, and when they did Jace and his mother sacrificed their meals for Hope and Sam. He felt a sudden pride in his job at that moment, thanks to him and the other gardeners, no one in this community would ever feel a hunger pain again. The leader and him had even discussed plans to build a spot where they they could place farm animals. Now all the group had to wait for were the supply runners to come across a bit of livestock that they could haul back to the sanctuary. Jace was deep in his thoughts when Emmeline began talking, so it took him a moment before replying. "Oh it's no problem. I kinda like to be alone sometimes." he replied feeling slightly embarrassed for his late reply. He stepped out of the garden and grabbed his water bottle. The weather was beginning to get hotter, and Jace felt that by the end of the month he would have to spend his days in the garden shirtless to avoid a heat stroke. He sat down on the wet grass and listened to Emmeline as she spoke. Her question caught her off guard a bit. He had never thought about it before. " Maybe. It would sorta depend on how you planned on doing that. " he replied taking a second to pause and think, "If we wanted to we'd have to get the code to open the gates. Could probably get it from Alex, AKA captain asswipe." he finished with a smirk. ( @WhisperSweetNothings )

Alex shot a thumbs up at Blake and began to pull out again. He was almost to the gate when he realized he forgot his water and a gun. He sighed and jumped out his van, running to the armory. Once he got there he got permission from the guard and went in. Alex didn't have a gun of his own, so he had to use a gun from the armory that didn't belong to anyone. Today he picked up a pistol that wasn't marked and walked out. He smiled at the guard and yelled "I'm feeling lucky!", but the guard simply gave him a shove and told him to keep moving. His next stop was back to his dorm, he had a few waters in there that he could take. When he got there, he saw Sam asleep in his bed and his magazines scattered throughout the floor. He gave sam a hard kick in her ass to wake her up. The girl jumped up immediately "What the fuck Alex? What time is it? Are you already done?" she asked and rubbed her eyes. Alex grabbed her arm and shoved her out his dorm and grabbed his water before going out after her. "Why were you in my room Sam?" "I was waiting on you." she said grabbing at his water and opening it. He snatched it back and closed it, "You can't just go through my stuff." he replied blushing a little. "Nice stash you got by the way." she said as she began walking down the hall. "Screw you." he said before pausing. He suddenly remembered the pills in his pocket and began walking behind her. " You should come with me today. " he added looking to her. "Okay." she replied and pushed the door open for him, "Just cover me.". Alex nodded and began to drag Sam quickly to his van. He opened the door for her and pushed her in before going to his seat, and driving the van outside the walls. Once out of sight, Sam sat up and leaned into her seat. "Hope you don't mind the mess." he said pushing a plastic bag away from the console.
