Carmen kept smiling tiredly and just played with Clay's fingers "Oh sweetie, she probably feels a bit funny cause Daddy isn't around and she's confused too. If you ask Giulia real nice she might help you give Mittens a couple treats to bring her to your room.... And you know that Alana gets a little grumpy when she's sad, try not to argue with your siblings right now okay? Sweetie mommy needs to go so that I can sleep and come home quicker okay? I love you, get cuddles from abuela from me okay?"

Jon smiled and pulled them both down onto the new bed, tickling Matthew's tummy and watched him squeal happily, "Daddy's missed you both." He smiled at him, pulling Max in closer, "I love you." He murmured to her. "You ever want more?" He asked

Bea gave a small nod and sniffled a bit "Okay mommy. Mommy you're gonna come right?" She asked softly

Max smiled happily and kissed him gently "I love you too." She said softly before looking at Matthew and nodded "I'd love more...maybe 2 more."

He smiled tiredly and nodded, "I can do 2 more." He smiled, cuddling her and MAtthew to him, falling asleep without meaning to, not having been this relaxed in a long time and all three dogs eventually came to join them in the room.

She smilred and nodded "Yeah baby I'm coming home, soon as I can." She promised her, "I love you, I'll call you tomorrow okay?" She murmured, eventually getting her to hang up and just looked over at Clay "She must have been so scared bless her." She mumbled, reaching for him. "Here... come lay down, you look exhausted baby."

Max smiled softly when she noticed both her boys had fallen asleep. She soon started to fall asleep as well once the dogs came in. She groaned softly when she woke up to Matthew tapping her face gently and Jon encouraging him.

Clay moved to lay with her and sighed heavily kissing the top of her head "I love you...I hope they're doing okay." He said softly yawning a bit before starting to fall asleep

It was another two weeks before Carmen was allowed to leave the area and travel back home but she was excited to get home to the kids finally and get on the mend after what felt like a decade of being sick. She had noticed though that the past couple days leading up to them going home Clay had been more and more on edge. Originally she'd put that down to him being worried about the travel but he was still touchy by the time they pulled into the drive and she barely had time ot ask him what was wrong when the front door opened and the kids came running out.

Jon was laying there wartchig Matthew get bored and gently nudged him towards Max to get him to wake her up, smiling at her some "You wanna get pizza tonight?" He asked her quietly

Clay had been on edge the entire time Carmen had been on the mend. Leticia was pissed but thankfully stayed away for the most part, it was Giullia that scared him. She was beyond pissed at him and he worried that she would tell Carmen of his fuck up. He got out of the car as they finally arrived home smiling happily as the kids all rushed out to greet Carmen, his mind not thinking in over drive for that small moment.

Max opened her eyes and smiled happily seeing Matthew's face staring at her "Well hello there little one." She said happily before. She sat up some and looked at Jon "Mmm Pizza sounds great, make sure to get the cheesy sticks I love."

She smiled as she listened to all of them chatting at her and trying to tell her what they’d been doing, taking Jarvis hand and following them all inside. “Oh boy sounds like you guys have been really busy. Javi why are you suddenly taller?” She smiled, going to sit in the lounge with them all. “Where’s Giulia?”

Jon smiled tiredly and nodded, getting up carefully and starting to head down to get the menus, limping a little as he went.

Max frowned softly when she noticed his limp"Jon wait...are you okay?" She asked worriedly as she got up with Matthew and made her way towards him.

Javi giggled as held his mom's hand happily walking inside with her "She is upstairs studying, she says she has a big huge test next week." He explained

He nodded a little. “Yeah. Just didn’t heal very well with the leg. Still aches.” He told her, pecking her cheek and headed downstairs.

Carmen frowned and kissed his head. “Go put the kettle on baby I’m gonna go see her okay?” She murmured, heading up to her room and knocked before going in. “Hey. Your brother seems to think you have a test…. In the middle of summer… after you’ve graduated… what’s going on?” She asked her, sitting next to her and hugged her tightly.

Max gave a small nod and smiled a bit "Alright handsome." She murmured before following him downstairs. She placed Matthew in his little play area and went to look over the menu with Jon.

Giullia looked at her mom as she came in and gave a heavy sigh "I was studying for a college class. Trying to get ahead." She said softly keeping her eyes adverted from her now.

He frowned a little and sat down, leaning on the counter while he read through the menu with her. “You pick. I don’t really mind.” He mumbled, pulling her in close to him.

She nodded and kissed her head. “Do you have any idea how proud me and your dad are of you? And you know that if you need anything, we will do everything we can to help you out okay?” She murmured, frowning when she told her to sit down. “What’s going on?” She frowned giving her hand a squeeze.

Max nodded softly as she looked over everything "Hmm okay let me call it in, I know what to get." she said happily before she pulled her phone out and dialed the pizza place.

Giullia gave a small nod before she took a deep breath and let a few tears fall "Mom...you need to sit down, I gotta tell you something." she said softly before taking a shaky breath "You uh...you know my friend Mary right? And her sister Leticia? Well a few weeks ago when you and dad were gone, Leticia popped up on my instagram for people you might know. So I clicked on her profile right? And....shit...I...I found this photo front and center." she said quietly before handing her phone over to her mom showing a photo she had taken of Clay driving with his hand on her thigh "I went digging deeper and...and it looks like its been happening for six months or so...Mom I'm so sorry!" she said before bursting into tears "This is all my fault...had I not known Mary or let Leticia drive us around all the time.." she sobbed holding onto her mom tightly

Carmen felt her stomach drop as she looked through the photos this girl had been posting, eventually putting the phone down and kissed Giulias cheek. “Hey. You listen to me right now. This is not your fault. You have done absolutely nothing wrong baby.” She murmured, “it’s alright.” She soothed her then got up and headed downstairs, finding clay in the lounge with the kids. “Get up. Get over here.” She spat at him. “Kids. Outside. Now.” She snapped a bit, watching them scurry off quickly then turned her wrath to her husband. “What the fuck is wrong with you?! You are gonna pack your shit and get the fuck outta here tonight. I know all about Leticia…. So get the fuck out.” She spat at him.

Jon nodded tiredly, not sure why he was quite so worn down but he was definitely not up to par as he went to lay on the couch, picking up Matthew on the way. “You wanna come snuggle with daddy?” He asked him, putting the cartoons on for him.

Clay frowned as saw the enraged look in Carmen's eyes, he hadn't seen that look in a long time. He stood up and frowned shaking his head some "Carmen no...don't do this please.. I fucked up...I was so lost with everything, please don't do this." he begged stepping closer to her but frowned as she stepped away from him

Max smiled happily as she heard Matthew squeal 'Dada!' as she made their order. She joined them shortly after and smiled wide making sure to take a photo of the two of them cuddled up on the couch "My two perfect guys."

She frowned and glared at him, raising her hand. “Don’t. Don’t even try that shit with me. I told you that if you ever fucking did it again that we were done. And I still mean it.” She told him seriously. “And the worst part Clay?! Giulia is upstairs crying because she thinks this is her fault! If you were gonna go fuck a 20-something did it have to be someone she knows?!” She snapped at him. “Pack your shit. Get out of my house. Now.” She snapped at him, going to go lay down in the den while he did it.

Jon smiled tiredly and watched her. “Sorry. I don’t know what’s come over me. I just don’t feel good all of a sudden.” He frowned some and reached for her to join them. “Maybe I’m getting too old to be staying up that late like I did.” He smiled tiredly.

Max gave him a small smile as sat beside him on the floor while he laid down "Its alright handsome, don't worry about it." she said before giving a small laugh "Yeah we aren't really spring chickens anymore huh?"

Clay frowned as he listened to her and gave a small nod "Alright....but I want to see my kids when I can Carmen....please don't keep them from me." he said quietly before he made his way upstairs and got his things together.

She lay there crying for what felt like hours until the kids came in and she composed herself a little. “Hey guys, you wanna get pizza for dinner? Daddy’s gonna go stay with your abuela for a little while…. But I’m home and I’m not going anywhere okay?” She frowned, cuddling them all close.

Jon just nodded a little and frowned. “I guess.” He mumbled, giving her hand a squeeze.

Alana frowned some and gave a small nod "You promised Javi BBQ next time we ate out....why is dad staying at Abuela's?" She asked getting a bit concerned. With the way Giullia had been acting and now her dad gone she knew something bad had happened.

Max squeezed his hand back and felt his forehead when she noticed that he seemed a little pale "If you aren't feeling better by tomorrow lets go to the doctor okay? You might have a cold, the weather has been up and down lately."

He just grumbled a response and gave her hand a squeeze. “Alright. Is he asleep?” He asked as Matthew had gone really quiet and was curled up to Jon. “I’ll go out him down for a nap.” He smiled, taking him up to his new room and got him settled in his bed before joining max on the couch again, pulling her in close.

she frowned and shook her head “I did. Javi go get the menu baby. Your fad has done something that’s hurt me very much. But no matter what he loves you kids more than anything. That’s a promise.” She assured them.

Max cuddled up close to him when he came back and smiled softly at him "Can you believe we've almost been together for 2 years now?" She said before giving him a quick peck on the lips.

Alana frowned more "But....that doesn't make any sense....why would he hurt you? He loves you too." She said getting even more confused about everything

She frowned and shook her head. “I don’t know baby. I don’t know.” She frowned some trying not to cry.

He smiled and kissed her head. “Technically a year and a half.” He murmured. “I love you.” He told her, frowning as he started getting a headache.

Alana frowned more and gave a small nod "Okay...I'll go get Giullia." She murmured before she ran upstairs to get her sister to get her order.

Max rolled her eyes some "Fine year and a half." She murmured before frowning when she saw his pained face "Here lay down babe, you want some tylenol?"

He frowned and nodded, "Yeah, just got a headache comin' on... I think I'm just gonna do the treadmill tomorrow at the gym. I'm not gonna go crazy. HAve a few light days." He mumbled.

Carmen frowned some, watching her kids once the food arived an hour later, picking at some bits, just feeling a little numb after that bombshell, eventually going to bed with Bea joining her soon after to make sure she wasn't going to leave them again but Carmen wasn't going to complain about the intrusion that night.

Max gave a small nod "Okay don't push yourself too hard babe, even if its just the tredmill." She murmured kissing his cheek before she got him some tylenol and water.

Bea cuddled up close to her mom as they got to bed later that night "Mommy...is daddy gone forever now?" She asked quietly

He mumbled a response and just curled up on the couch thinking he was coming down with something. He ended up sleeping through the rest of the night with one quick trip to get into his actual bed later on and woke up late into the morning. The note on his nightstand saying max had taken the dogs and Matthew for a walk while he got up and got dressed to head out.

She shook her head, running her fingers through Beas hair “No baby. He’s gone to stay with abuela for a while at least. But he’s gonna see you kids as much as he can. You know how important you all are to him.” She murmured, kissing her head.
