—Year: mid-2200’s

—————

When Party B was seven years old, he dreamed of becoming an astronomer once

he matured; however, that goal changed into something bigger when his father

brought home a vintage blueprint and a model of a mecha.

—————

Tatsuya(Party B), 19, male.

Fuyuko(Party A), 18, female.

Best friends since they were in diapers(I’m so sorry[not]), Tatsuya, despite of the age difference, has always been the childish and immature of the two; whilst Fuyuko had always been mature and, consequently, the one to pull him out of fights when they were younger. Ever since she had showed this side of her—ironically, when she had started a fight—, he has been failing to admit that he’s in love with her. So finally, finally, he’s decided that today, on New Year’s Eve, he’ll confess. Their favorite ‘childhood place’ is right on top of the Uni Hills(yes, I did just make that up), but while the two friends were climbing up the steep side, Fuyuko made a misstep. Tatsuya caught her just in time; however, the ground below him started to crumble.

The last thing he heard was Fuyuko’s scream.

—————

You’re(Tatsuya) still falling, but why? Shouldn’t you be dead? Suddenly, you feel something terribly hard as you stop falling; but it’s not the ground, it’s the ocean. You slowly begin to lose consciousness, but you feel yourself being pulled out of the water before you do. When you wake up, you’re in unfamiliar, yet gentle, arms. A girl is looming over you with eyes as big as saucers and she’s screaming out your name.

You look around, but Fuyuko isn’t anywhere to be found, there’s a giant, menacing mecha-thing right behind you, you’re in a friggen’ astronaut costume, and worst of all, you seem to be in a completely different era!?

Where exactly are you?

(The names can be changed, don't worry~)

Name: Tatsuya Oshiro

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Party: B

Personality: Mischievous, playful, secretive, analytical, intelligent, caring, quick-tempered, loyal

Hobbies: Star-gazing, tinking with things, trying out new foods, exploring

Talents: Track, building/tinkering with things, cooking

Quirks: Tatsuya is a hard-worker, though he never advertises it. As such, his classmates have complained that he was one of those naturally-talented-but-lazy geniuses. He always had a playful demeanor around others, but in the privacy of his own room, there was no harder worker than Tatsuya.

History: It was his dad who first introduced him to space. During a camping trip, Tatsuya's father had taken him out to look at the starry skies. His father told him of strange worlds unlike Earth. These worlds existed far away from them, on what was known as planets. His father had given him a locket, which contained a small piece of moon-rock inside. It intrigued the young boy, and as if by fate, he made a wish on a shooting star that he would someday visit one of those exotic worlds. While it was a childish commitment, the idea of becoming an astronomer carried Tatsuya throughout most of his life. Yet, not everyone believed in his dream. Others would often tease him about it during school, and Tatsuya got into fights with them. Eventually, Tatsuya began to fight for the sake of fighting. It was only because of his childhood friend, Fuyuko, that he was taken out of some of those fights. Why did he let her stop him? What was so... special about her? Tatsuya found the answer in late November. He had barely been paying attention to the teacher's lectures, but couldn't help but to take his eyes off of Fuyuko. Perhaps it was just some stupid teenage crush. Whatever it was, Tatsuya always kept that thought in the back of his head. The two graduated, and it was time to move on. Tatsuya aimed to go to Erlenmay University, which was huge on astronomy. Fuyuko on the other hand... was headed elsewhere. Would the two ever talk again? Would their college lives, coupled together with new friends and experiences, change them? Tatsuya feared being separated from her - to be forgotten. After a few nerve-wrecking months, Tatsuya finally decided that he was going to confess to her.

Personality: Kind • Alert • Captivating • Focused • Hard-working • Modest • Orderly/Organized • Unpredictable • Secretive • Embarrassed easily

Likes: Bottling up her emotions, visiting the planetarium, etc.

Short Bio: Lamia actually has no memory. Amnesia, you could call it; however, she does remember one thing: Tatsuya's name and face. As that was the only thing she could recall, when Tatsuya suddenly fell out of the sky, the girl decided she had no choice but to rescue him in order to get some answers.

A promise was made on Uni Hills. It was not between a man and a woman, but rather a man to himself. Tatsuya promised himself that he would confess to his best friend. He would've, too. The two were climbing a ledge towads Uni Hills (it was their secret shortcut), when a misstep caused his best friend to tumble. Luckily, he had caught her. "A-are you okay?" Tatsuya asked. His heart raced as he held her in his arms. He gently squeezed her body as he stared longingly into her eyes. His lips parted, but before he could speak, the earth trembled. It violently shook, sending the boy and girl downwards. He cried out to his friend, desperately calling out her name.

"Fuyuko!"

Then, the darkness came.

---

The smell of ashes loomed over the area, overriding his other senses. He could not touch, nor see anything. All Tatsuya could see was darkness. Ash- symbolic of death and destruction. Did that mean he was dead? What... about Fuyuko? The thought of his crush caused Tatsuya to stir.

His fingers twitched for a moment, and his eyes slowly opened. The light was blinding initially. His eyes gradually adjusted, and he saw a young girl looking over him. he couldn't quite make out her face, though she seemed to resemble Fuyuko in some ways. Tatsuya raised his hand, gently cupping the girl's face. No- something was off.

"Who... are you?"

((*panicking* Oh shoot, you figured it out! qwq"" ))

You know that feeling you get when you're awake but you don't realize it just yet? Yah, that's how Lamia felt.

Lamia blinked. Once, twice, then thrice. 'Wait.. where am I? How did I get here...?' she wondered, looking around the somewhat isolated area. Surrounded by water, she squinted, spotting an island in the far off distance. Suddenly, Lamia heard a loud, thundering noise behind her. Turning towards the commotion, she noticed a large blob(pfft) in the sky, falling. Her eyes widened, because as it neared earth, she also caught sight of a person.

At the sight of them, her head started to throb with pain and she squeezed her eyes shut, dizzied for a moment. "Tat...suya.." she whispered. Realizing she had a connection to this person, she jumped into the water, hoping to save him.

It was dark, and not to mention cold, but she pressed on. She heard a light splash at first, then the sound of something landing(on the tiny land she was on) behind her. Lamia swam towards the first noise and finally felt a body. Grabbing hold of Tatsuya's arm, she pulled him onto the land she was previously on and gasped for air.

"Wake up! Wake up, Tatsuya!" she urged him to open his eyes, hoping he wasn't dead. Suddenly, she found herself staring into emerald-green orbs. "Thank goodness," she said, followed by an exasperated sigh. When he touched her cheek, however, she stared at him confusingly. Somehow, the action seemed familiar. She didn't know how, though. At his first words, she lifted both her eyebrows in surprise. "I-I don't know," she stammered.

((Wait wut. Nuuhhh! It wasn't even intentional! I think I know what you're talking about, but don't spoil it for me just in case!))

A voice suddenly boomed over the area, so loud that it seemed deafening. Someone was calling his name. Tetsuya weakly reached out to the voice, holding his hand up. At first he believed it to be Fuyuko, though it didn't seem so. He pursed his lips when he received his answer. "You're saying you don't know who you are?" He pressed a hand against the wet soil and forced himself onto his feet. Tetsuya checked for any wounds on his body, only to find something else. He no longer was wearing his dark green jacket, or dark jeans. Rather, he was in some sort of space suit. The man instinctively turned his head around. There was no city in sight. They were surrounded by water, with a large mechanical robot behind the girl.

Tetsuya pinched his forehead and paced back and forth. What was the last thing that happened? It was the day before New Years' and... he was going to confess to Fuyuko! He turned over to the dark-haired girl and walked over her. It was clear that he was angry, scared and above all, confused. "How did you find me?" Tetsuya asked accusingly, "You called me by my name. What else do you know about me?"

((m-meep.. =w= ))

Lamia jumped back at his words, saying,"N-no, I don't." She got up, watching him pace around and try to piece the puzzles together. At his outburst, her eyes widened slightly and she shook her head. "I don't know how I know your name. My head hurts whenever I try to think of anything.." she said, pausing to rub her forehead a little,"All I remember is your face and name."

Tetsuya was quick to shut the girl down. Was he wrong to do so? He almost had the guts to confess to his best friend, and now he was on some unknown island with some unknown girl. "Well, I don't remember you." He said bluntly, rubbing his forehead. The young man approached the giant machine behind them, gently rubbing at its base. "I guess this isn't yours, then." Tetsuya began to climb the giant machine, finding a cockpit in it. Well, it wasn't like he even knew how to pilot this thing. He jumped down, gesturing to the girl apathetically. "Come on, let's explore this place. Maybe we're in Briton or something..."

Lamia turned to the mech. "I thought it was yours..?" she said, looking back at him in confusion. Things were starting to get stranger and stranger by the minute. "There's not much to explore. This lone land can barely be called an island, let alone land, and there's an island far off in the distance. It would take ages to get there—" suddenly, the giant machine moved. Its eyes lit up, and its head turned to Lamia. Lamia jumped, surprised at the sudden movement. "Lamia Duru, switched, age nineteen," the AI spoke, then turned its head to Tatsuya. "Tatsuya Oshiro, switched, age ninteen," it spoke again, confirming their identities and ages. "..My name is Lamia?" she wondered, studying the mech.

Tetsuya shook his head. "I don't know how I got here, or why I'm even in this suit. I... had something important I wanted to do, so I'd love to return home." His eyes loomed over the island. It was true- there was practically no land to move on. Neither of them appeared to be ready to swim for miles, so perhaps the machine was their best chance in getting off the island? The man jumped when the machine turned on. "H-hey!" He jumped forward, taking Lamia to the ground and covered her from the robot in case it decided to attack them. "Are you alright?" Tetsuya asked, before growing silent as it scanned the both of them. He cautiously stretched his arm, gently rubbing the cold metal with his hands. He gently caressed the machine, seeing that it wasn't going to attack either of them. Tetsuya breathed a sigh of relief.

He stood up, looking up at it. All of this seemed so foreign... yet Tetsuya's urge of tinkering told him to climb the machine. Sure, it was a stupid idea, but it was the only idea he could think about. After climbing on top of it, Tetsuya spotted two empty pilot seats. He glanced back and began to climb halfway down the mecha, before holding his hand out to the girl. "Looks like we can get into this... thing. Let's get out of here, Lamia."

Tetsuya hoped that they could transverse through a few islands before getting home. He needed to see Fuyuko... to confirm his feelings, and to confirm whether or not she survived the earthquake. He prayed that she was still alive, waiting for him.

All of a sudden, Lamia was pushed to the ground by Tatsuya. "Eep!" she shrieked lightly, holding her breath as he pulled her up. "Y-yah, I'm okay," she replied, dusting off her clothes. She looked up at the menacing figure, the mech, and found herself strangely allured by it. "It's not going to hurt us.." she blurted, touching the smooth, cold metal of its leg. Nodding her agreement at Tatsuya's next words, she took his hand and pulled herself up. "Do you think we'll be able to fly it? Or does it have autopilot.." she wondered, staring into the cockpit.

Tetsuya helped Lamia into the cockpit, into the back seat. He was pretty good with gadget things and the like, so he figured it would be better to be in front. Once seated, he pushed a button. The surrounding sky was replaced by darkness, with small screens, charts, and maps taking its place. "This looks complicated..." He muttered before looking around at all of his options. There were countless of buttons and switches- some of which Tetsuya didn't understand. "Good call. If I flew this thing we'd be dead in a second." Once Lamia mentioned the autopilot, Tetsuya started to look for such an option. It took him a few minutes, but eventually he flipped the autopilot switch. A large map came up, revealing an unknown landmass, and their current location. He did a double-take on the map. "T-this doesn't look like Earth..." Tetsuya selected the closest city to them. The mech rumbled for a few moments, lifting off the ground. It began to fly to the destination Tetsuya selected.

"This is weird... so very weird..."

Lamia's eyes widened as the scenery around her changed into maps, screens, and the like. "W-wow.." she said, shocked and amazed as she stared at it. "You're probably right," she responded, still looking around the cockpit. When the mech started to move, however, she sat back, buckling herself in with what looked like a seat belt.

Tetsuya looked over the switches and buttons, slowly familiarizing himself with them. He would ocassionally turn off the autopilot to experiment with what some of the buttons did. Some were for maneuvering, while others fired rockets. Luckily... no one was around. He spun his seat around to face Lamia. The man stared deeply into his eyes, folding his hands on his lap. "If this thing crashes, I'm going to blame you." Tetsuya smiled slightly. The longer he gazed at the girl, the more he realized how cute she was. He bit his bottom lip. No! Thinking about other girls is wrong, especially when he hadn't confessed to Fuyuko yet!

((OOC: So, who's handling the world-building then? I'd be more than willing to help out, though I don't want to detract from what you envisioned with the plot/setting))

((OOC: Of course you can help out~ I don't know exactly what the island sould look like. Maybe a mix of rural/urban areas with high tech? px ))

Lamia glared at him, blushing slightly. "You were the one who suggested hopping into this thing in the first place.." she mumbled, looking away before he could see her blush any longer. Suddenly, Lamia's eyes widened as she stared at something..

"Fuyuko, you didn't need to drag me out of there, you know! I—"

Fuyko snorted at his words, interrupting the boy. "Yah, I did have to, Tatsuya," she said, ruffling up his hair.

Annoyed, Tatsuya walked away. "Come on, we'll be late.." he said, already ahead of her..

After the flashback was over, Lamia looked back at Tatsuya. "So, are we almost there, Captain?" she asked once she regained her composure.

Frankly, Tetsuya couldn't tell what was going through Lamia's mind. When she turned away from him, he did the same and tried to focus on the controls. Minutes passed, and his mind began to wander. Memories of Fuyuko flooded back into his mind. He reached up, firmly grasping the locket. Tetsuya opened it, revealing the small moon rock. He had wished to visit other worlds as a child, and here he was. But the dream seemed more like a nightmare. He closed his eyes for a few moments before closing it. He resumed his usual demeanor, hoping to hide his thoughts from the girl behind him. "We're almost there. Radar says the town's called Dehli." He said.

A town soon came into view. The buildings were often colored tan, and had relatively smooth surfaces. Pipes ran alongside the walls of these buildings, and above the streets. Some street signs were hung up on the pipes, and it appeared as if the town itself were built around the pipes. Wheel-less cars glided across a magnetic road. Even the people who looked at the mecha didn't bat a second eye at it, as though it were normal. Tetsuya flipped the switch and allowed the machine to descend in front of the town. He opened the cockpit and hopped out.

Tetsuya approached a few people in town, asking them if they knew of a place called Earth. Many shook their heads, or gave him weird looks.

Lamia jumped down from the cockpit as well. Seeing they were in a busy, busy town, Lamia reached forward and grabbed his sleeve lightly. She started to walk, following him to who knows where. "I don't think anyone knows about Earth.." she paused, thinking for a moment. Her eyes lit up for a moment, and she smiled, saying,"What if we were to go to a planetarium?" It seemed reasonable to go to one, since they'd probably have better luck finding their answers there. However, she had no idea where one would be.

Tetsuya looked over his shoulder to see Lamia clinging onto him. Though he wouldn't have allowed in under ordinary circumstances, the girl had lost her memory. He would overlook this just once. "Hm? So you're from Earth too?" The man asked. He nodded at her suggestion, believing that it was a good idea. They walked through the town aimlessly. "My dad was an astronaut. He used to take me out camping when I was little. We'd stargaze, and under a shooting star, I wished that I would explore new worlds like him. Though, I didn't know I'd be visiting other worlds like this." Tetsuya was ranting a little bit, but by the time he was finished, they approached a large building with golden spheres on the roof- they looked like planets.

"Well, there's your planetarium."

Lamia nodded. "Y-yah.. I think I'm getting bits of my memories back," she told him with a warm smile. Her eyebrows shot up momentarily when he started talking about his dad. "Really? That's cool!" she told him, adding a small laugh once he finished. "Well, that explains it.." she joked, then stopped once the planetarium was in front of them. "Wow... it looks so.. big.." she said, looking up at it in awe.

Tetsuya raised his eyebrow. "Are you now?" He had his doubts about Lamia. She had just conveniently been there to save him, and conveniently had amnesia. He'd have to watch his back. And if it wasn't Lamia who arranged this situation, then it was someone's ploy to bring them together- which meant they wanted to separate him from Fuyuko!

He snickered as soon as she commented on its size. "That's what she said!" He walked ahead of her, as if he were proud of the comment. They entered into the planetarium, and there were plenty of people scurrying about, working on who knew what. They approached one of the men, "H-Hello, I had a question I was hoping you could answer," Tetsuya took a deep breath. "Have you ever heard of a place called... Earth?"
