I mean, the other characters could still input their feelings, first impressions, reactions, and the necessary dialogue. I left a lot of spaces for people, like the part where I wrote “he processed their information in no particular order” or something along those lines ? Should I delete the latter half?

Ya’ll let me know if you want me to delete the paragraph where Kane mentally processes everyone’s info. I’ll delete that, but I’ll probably keep the part that starts with “Ah” and afterwards

Edit: actually I’ll go ahead and delete that paragraph because the post still flows pretty well

koala koala I didn't see the original version, but the way the post is now is perfectly fine with me. :)

On another note: I had a bit of a 'time discontinuity' in my post since I described what Tamara/Macaria (I'll keep her 'normal' name until she herself feels more like she blends with her character, probably one or two more posts at most) did before introductions started, even though they have been going on for 2-3 posts - should I take that out or is it fine as is? I know some people don't like it and some don't mind at all, so that's why I thought I'd best ask.

I personally don't mind it. I didn't know people didn't like time discontinuity. It makes a lot more sense to include that stuff?? The more information/detail = the better, amirite?

Okay, great! I personally agree with you. I don't know how common disliking it is, either, but in the two times the topic came up in my prior RPs it was split one for it/neutral and one against it, so I wasn't really sure.

Yeah, that's just really strange in my opinion. Haha. xD I mean, it's not like the time between your last post and your next post is nonexistent so to completely ignore that might mean leaving out important details. Even when there's a time skip, I at least talk about what occurred during the passed time so people can know what happened during my character's side of things.

So, um, since contributing to world building was encouraged, I tried to come up with a little something. It's an inn/pub, and while it doesn't have to be the one where the main quest starts, I thought it might be nice to use it as a 'default' location for characters to rest or take on sidequests.

I'll put what I have so far in a spoiler below this text:

The Waystone:

Situated along the street connecting the town plaza with the gate, it provides both an inn and a pub to weary or just thirsty travellers. It isn't the most striking building, blending in with the other timber-framed houses in the street save for the colourful sign above the door and the fact that it is at least two stories taller.

The inside is fairly comfortable and welcoming, furnished with wooden tables and seats as well as the standard tavern and pub equipment. From the array of bottles behind the counter, the contents of the barrels in the cellar to the selection of food, desserts, juices and hot drinks from the kitchen, there isn't any culinary wish the Waystone can't cater to in some form.

In the back of the room, there's the reception counter for the inn, right next to the stairs leading to the upper floors where the bedrooms are located. While the building can't possibly be taller than four or five stories and each floor could not possibly hold more than ten rooms, for some miraculous reason the Waystone manages to never have to turn anyone away (unless they cannot pay), even with the recent influx of adventurers.

Aside from its recreational facilities, the Waystone is also a good place for travelers to gather and exchange information, and to take on jobs: More often than not, locals will visit the pub to request help from adventurers, be it monster extermination, collecting rare items in distant places or delivering messages over perilous roads.

I tried to find an image to go with the text that matched the style of the town on the lore page, but I don't know if it's all that good. As with the details, if you think something would be better if changed, feel free to say so; after all, this is just an idea yet.
About the 'endless' room part: I'm not insisting on that either, but unless there are several inns, a lot of players won't have anywhere to sleep for the first few days, haha. Which might be an interesting problem to have in the RP anyway, I don't know. I just remembered there was a sort of mathematical paradoxon on an infinite hotel and took it as a basis. I looked it up now, and it's apparently called Hilbert's Hotel, so the name of the inn could be changed to Hilbert's too, if we incorporate that, haha.

I love how just about everyone can code their posts and then there’s my stuff looking like a potato xD

Coding isn't difficult, especially on RPN, which has the most hand-holding BBCode I have ever seen. It just takes lots of practice, memorization, and trial-and-error.

You can use this if you want. It's just on the smaller side but it is mobile friendly too.
