Jewels of France (AnnaAxle+Ayezombie)

Adeline was astonished. No one has ever even taken interest in poetry before, at least not at the same time as taking interest in Adeline. Seeing that girl smiled was irreplaceable to her, and she would be more than happy to see it again

"I don't have any important jobs here, and I doubt the would even notice if I left, but usually I have to stay overtime to pay rent." She seemed to have gotten sadder when the words finally left her mouth

"I know a good cafe that stays open late. My treat."

Carmilla impulsively grabbed the girls hand and cupped it in her own, hoping she would say yes. Seeing the joy fall from Adeline's face pained her and Carmilla wanted to make it better.

"I can pick you up and walk with you there. And if you are too tired than I can walk you home, and we may go out another time if you wish." She said. Carmilla didn't want to overstep her boundaries, but she felt the need to at least offer.

"It's not that, I would be more than happy to, but I can't afford cafés unless I save a few days in advance, I that would require overtime" She couldn't bare to reject the girl while looking at her face, so hers felt more pulled to the ground than the rest of her "Also my house is a bit, out of the way" she mentioned

"My treat. I'll pay for you. You work hard and deserve a break, even if only for a few moments. "

Carmilla sat back a moment, and bit her lip trying to think her words through carefully.

"I'll show up dressed in hiking boots if I must." She said, trying to get Adeline to smile again. "If you do not wish me to walk you home, then I will not over step myself."

"You mustn't wear hiking boots for my sake." She says but she gives a small giggle to the idea of a dress and boots. Especially with a girl as wonderfully beautiful as the one who suggested. But after that she go's serious again, continuing the conversation "if I won't be a hassle, I will accompany you on a date" the short girl says, trying to sound prim and proper, even though she doesn't know the complete situation

"Then I'll see you here when you get off." She smiled. It wasn't for a moment that she realized her hand was still in Adeline's, and she drew it back to gather her things.

"I'll have the prettiest girl in France on my arm tonight."

Carmilla took out a pen and wrote her number on her receipt from earlier, and slid it into Adeline's hand.

"Just incase." She added, before blowing the red head a kiss and going to follow her father out of the store.

Adeline was quick to blush, not used to being the center of attraction. It wasn't long before she her hair matched her face in collor, but she still intended to go.

"I-I-ll see you tonight" she said, waving the paper to her over her head

And for the rest of her work day, it was spent mostly fascinating over the slip of paper in the corner of the ware house

Carmilla got into the car with a smile wider than the pacific on her face, and her father took quick notice.

"I assume you're going out tonight?" He asked, leaning back in his seat.

"Yes sir."

"Just be safe."

Her father had learned a long time ago that if he banned her from something, she's usually find some other way to get it.

When they arrived home Carmilla started planning the night out, not wanting to mess it up in the slightest.

Half and hour before the date, Adeline started to get a bit worried. She's never had to try to impress any girls, not that she really wanted to until now. For a while now, her past girlfriends have only been into having a small girl in they're house, they didn't go on many dates so to speak of. But when the time came close to 20 minutes she decided that she'll try her best to impress her in her current clothes, baggy pants, xlarge sweater, and her favorite scarf. Which she spent the last 10 minutes adjusting to look cuter.

How about now?

(Now it's showing! (^.^))

Carmilla pulled on a light jacket as she walked out the door. Her boots clicked on concrete, and for some reason the sound of them gave her confidence. It was something about wearing leather with combat boots that could make anyone stand tall. She left through the back door, trying to avoid confrontation with their families main hand, Charlotte. She was an old bugger, but truly did look out for Carm's saftey when her parents weren't around.

Once she got off the property, she hailed a cab and headed to the small store, and ended up sitting on a bench out front. She was afraid to walk inside and draw attention to Adeline again, or risk embarrassing her.

When the predestined time arrived, Adeline was still working overtime. When she saw the clock, she didn't realize that she was going to be late if she didn't check out then. She talked to manager about her hours, saying she was leaving earlier out of a request of the Verlosser family, in which the manager said she can get off with pay. Now she had nothing to worry about and could go on her date without looking back.

When she saw a mature looking women sitting on the bench in a light leather jacket and combat boots, she decided she'd sit next to her and wait for Carmilla to arrive.

Carmilla had her hair parted so as to act like a curtain, so she wasn't too surprised when the tiny redhead didn't recognize her. She wanted to surprise her, but not scare her. But what to do?

In a fit of racking her brain, Carmilla remembered her bag. In her purse was a single flower, that she had planned to give to her when Adeline set on home from the cafe.

"I hope you like white." She hummed, pulling it out and handing it delicately to the girl. Carmilla had a hand through her hair, moving it from her own face.

"Thanks but I think I'm here on a d-" she didn't realize who the girl was until she moved her hair out of the way "Carmilla? I thought you would be here with an escort of the sort" she asked her, shocked "Are you sure you wanted it to be just us?" She covered her blushing face with one hand, but took the white rose from her with the other

"I wouldn't want to share a night with you accompanied with anyone else." She said, bowing her head a little. She stood up, and held a hand out for Adeline to stand with. The red head looked absolutely gorgeous when she blushed, not that she didn't look absolutely perfect any other time.

"Do you still wish to go with me even though it's just us, Amor?" She asked, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.

The little red head leaned forward to grab her hand, but she could only fit her small hands around her index and middle finger, but that was enough to support what little weight she had "I'm actually..." She paused, biting nervously her wool sweater "... I'm really glad it's just us, especially since I thought we might have someone have to accompany you" she said, following behind Charmilla with her eyes close happily, as she lead the way to wherever they were going

"Good," She smiled, "I'm really happy you could come."

Carmilla rounded to corner with Adeline in pull, arriving to the small cafe. They had some tables with closed umbrellas outfront, surrounded by a short wrought iron fence. As she opened the door, Carmilla greeted some people walking out. "Bonne nuit." She nodded, letting Adeline in and the others out. Once they'd all passed she found a window seat for them, pulling a chair out for her date, and waiting for her to sit to push it in.

Adeline took her in on her offer, and climbed onto the chair. She was still getting used to the scenery, the smell of fresh bread and warm drinks filled her head, she wasn't used to such fancy food. When the waitress came to take their order, she was a bit overwelhmed and just asked for what Carmilla was having, searchinf through her pocket to see if she had enough money "3 and a half euros is enough right?" She asked the waitress, intending to buy her own drinks

Carmilla smiled to the waitress, having been a frequent here. She took Adeline's hand and nodded, and the lady knew exactly what to say. Carmilla would be paying the full tab after, she wasn't exactly planning on letting her date pay for a single thing. Just her company was enough.

"Actually madame, you meal has already been paid for. Drinks?" she said, and jotted a few things down onto her pad for the register, already knowing most of it.

Carmilla smiled, excited for her to see what her usual was. It wasn't anything fancy, infact it was often considered a peasant's dish. But it was delicious. It was a thick vegetable soup, with a piece of bread cut to eat it with. Simply named on the menu, "pain végétale"

As for their drinks, Carmilla usually just got water. But she didn't want to assume that much for Adeline.

"I think I'll have a Pepsi" she smiled, assuming that they have that. When the waitress informed her differently, she wasn't too quick to catch on "in that case I'll have a coke" she suggested instead.

"I'm sorry mademoiselle, but this is a caffe" the watress replied. She was used to much more prestigious costumers, but had no intention of kicking out the friend of a regular. "I'll get you sugared bubble water, it is the closet thing we have" she said while writing the order down. "I won't charge you for the drinks" she said, winking at Carmilla

Carmilla rolled her eyes at the girl after she walked away, laughing at how she had acted. "My apologies for that. It's always tedious just trying to get something simple. It's always gotta have a fancy name. Except for what we're having. It's my favorite." She said, trying to make her smile.

Rei did smile at whatever Carmilla says, whether intentional or not, but it's mostly because Carmilla was always smiling around her. "If I knew that you liked vegetable soup so much, its one of the few foods I eat that can be considered a dish" she said, making jokes at her own poverty before eating the soup directly from the bowl, saving the bread cuts for its own separate meal "the stuff I use is just scraps and crust though, so it's not quite as good" she said after her first sip, getting a bit of the soup on her cheek

"It's really good. No matter what's used for it. Scraps or first picks." She said, soaking a peice of bread in the bowl before taking a bite of it.

"So Adeline, tell me something about yourself." Carmilla asked, "You seem a very interesting lady."

Carm Sat up a little straighter, curious to hear anything that Adeline could have to say. The red head could recite the dictionary and Carmilla would listen to every word of it the banter.
