Carmilla Verlosser is an aristocrat by birth, with an old dutch family wedded into an even older French family. The result of this is a young girl in the center of France, raised mostly by her nannies and the characters in her books.

What happens when a small trip to one of her father's stores introduces her to an employee?

Name: Carmilla Verlosser

Age: Nineteen

Sex: Female

Orientation: Lesbian

Height: 5"8

Weight: 146

Personality: Carmilla has been practically trained to be cool and collected at all times, but unlike her parents she doesn't quite enjoy the extravagant balls as much as they do. She prefers concerts and hole in the wall eat-outs much more to them. But for her parent's sake she only goes out when she isn't at classes, out on work ventures with her father, or at "Mandatory Social gatherings" In general she is easy to get along with, acting cocky at time to draw attention to her positive attributes, so she doesn't have to be upfront or honest about her flaws like educational issues with dyslexia and issues with her parents.

Adeline is a employee for one of the many Verlosser Family stores, where she was hired out of pure sympathy. She snuck away from home at a young age due to an arguent of her sexuality and has been in poverty ever since. She lives alone in a one room studio apartment that's barely holding together. She try's her best to not to be upset by these things, and she's actually infact quite used to it. She's never had much for intertainment, and often goes overtime at her job.

But could that work in her favor when the daughter of the company pays a visit?

Name: Adeline

Age: 20

Sex: Female

Orientation: Lesbian

Height: 4'11

Weight: 96

Personality: Due to poverty and lack of parents, she's always been very quiet with those who don't know her. She's devoloped a way of talking people into helping her since she was young, but she never has taken advantage of it. Her childlike voice and constant use of fluffy oversize clothes, combined with her very short height, just gave it to her. Despite her height, when she actually was in school, she was too of the class in most of her studies, but still failed at physical education. She hasnt gone any farther in school, and although she was told she could've gotten a schoolarship, but she's never been one to bring light to her good grades, nor was she ever one to show off.

Carmilla had her head resting against the seat, legs crossed and eyes closed when her father started explaining what today's trip was about.

"We've got to make appearances at our shops, even the smallest chain establishments at least every once in a while. We must enstill a trust with our managers." He rambled, going on about how running a business as big as theirs isn't all about statistics and money but about saving face and worker quality.

"Bien, bien, Père. I understand. I'll be on my best behavior. You know I know I how to act." She assured, sitting up straight again and grabbing the door handle as the car came to a stop. Carmilla hated having the chauffeur let her out like she was a princess. She had muscles in her hand that she was more than happy to use in opening her own door.

"Carmilla, cher, just don't run off again." He urged, referring to their last outing. She had met some kind locals and went out swimming with them without telling anyone where she was.

"No promises."

With that they walked inside and greeted the store and district managers, exchanging smiles and business information. When they all went into the front of the store, she could feel people's eyes on them. They stood so much more out. Her father in his tux, and her in her black dress and heels. She had been originally told to be dressed for meetings all day. This was not what she had expected.

Though Carmilla didn't mind it. Some of their employees were awefully cute.

One of those employees stood out slightly more than others. Most of the girls had the same basic features, tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, great clothes, but there was a few that weren't. Normally being a redhead was normal in Northern Europe, Adeline however was in central France. To keep from blending in even more, she's somehow an early adult, yet barely 5 feet tall. The clothes too, which was just an oversized wool jacket she bought at flea market, didn't seem very appealing to the eye. Yet with all that, Adeline was still the one staring most intently at the bosses daughter.

Carmilla could see her father's gaze lingering on some of the employees. She was almost certain she heard a comment from his assistant, but wasn't entirely sure. She knew it was him that said whatever it was for sure though, as his thick american accent was distinguishable among the rest.

Carmilla walked away from the group and scanned the aisle, searching for something to keep her busy. It wasn't long until she spotted a short red head, seemingly bundled up in big clothes against a tiny frame.

"Bonjour, mon cher." She said, smiling to her, "do you know where I could find the candy?"

Carmilla had a sweet tooth bigger than Australia, and wherever she went she was sure to fullfill it.

The red head was surprised to be the first one she asked. After all, how often do dreams come true? She did however, know where the sweets were, from all the times she was supposed to be handing them out to costumers. Since she could speak while chewing on the tip of the sweater sleeve, she used her other hand to point in the direction of the register, where both the costumer mints, and the 100 euro gum were.

"Thanks, uhm, Adeline." She said, taking a quick glance to the girls name tag. She walked over to the register and picked a pack of gum from the shelving, along with a few lollies. Setting them on the counter Carmilla drew the estimate amount of change due out and set it onto the money tray, waiting for someone to come take it.

She turned around to the small redhead and raised an eyebrow, her way of asking for her to be the one to ring her out before anyone else noticed it must be done.

Adeline pointed to herself in question, but walked over to the register anyway before the other participant could make it into a conversation. When she got behind the counter, she pulled a small stool from under it, though her chin still barely stood lower the top of register she did the calculations in her head and waited for the money

Her body was able to manage 3 words from itself, though very childly pitched

"4 euros madam"

Carmilla added an extra euro to the tray, and smiled to Adeline.

"How long have you worked around here?" She asked, hoping to stir up conversation with the girl. Carmilla wouldn't be able to sleep if she didn't at the least get to tell the girl she was pretty before the day was done. She would be here a while, so might as well make friends in the mean time as well.

Girl look at the extra euro and then up bosses daughter, who in turn had an innocent smile on her.

"1 month" Adeline said this with a sharper tone than what she's used to, and also while looking at to the side of her, seemingly avoiding eye contact, afraid to blush if she the other girls smile again.

"I should've come here a month again. I've missed out on speaking to a pretty girl for so long." Carmilla said.

She could tell the girl wasn't used to being spoken to directly, and didn't want to make her uncomfortable. But she tends to forget who she can speak to like that.

"You seem like a very hard worker."

The red head, with new matching cheeks from the blush, started to enjoy the conversation from that point out. She couldn't work that day even if she wanted to, considering the manager is going to be talking to Carmilla's father from earlier, so she decided to take this chance to further your conversation

"Is it alright to be like that with an employee?" She asks, looking to get other side this time. "Not that I'm against it, it's just that..." Adeline never had to carry a conversation for this long, and can't seem to get the right words in order

"Technically, you're not my employee." She smirked, leaning on the counter.

"Even if it wasn't, I'd take the risk for you."

Carmilla gave her another smile before glancing around, making sure she wasn't in anyone's way or obstructing the stores flow. Seeing that it had slowed down a little in her area, Carm was satisfied and turned to the read head.

"But if you're father finds out..." The red head moves back in attempt to not get fired

"I'm not saying you're not beautiful it ju-" before she could fully complete her sentence the red head trips over her over sized sweater, and falls speechlessly spread eagle on her back

Carmillas eyes opened up wide, and immediately she swung to around the counter to help her up. She pushed a brunette lock of hair out of her face and behind her ear, and held a hand out for her to grab.

"Are you suggesting there's something for him to find out about?" She teased, giggling a little bit before absentmindedly checking once again the girl wasn't in danger of falling again.

"Not that I wouldn't mind if there was." She hummed, "he'd probably warn me against it, but he'd never threaten your job for me flirting with you. One look at you and hed surely understand why I couldn't contain myself."

Carmilla had to mentally stop herself from talking, as she realized she might be walking all over this girl. And that wasn't what she wanted at all.

She took the girls hand and used to it stabilize herself while pushing up with her other hand

"Well even the lady of business say so, not everyone is so excepting of my liking girls, at least not as much as you" the red head says blushing and dusting her self off

"Also I really do need this job, you see? I have no degree and there are no other propriétaire who would be willing to hire me" she sighs taking a scarf out of her pocket and wrap it around her face habitually

"I promise that if anything were to come of us meeting, I shall make sure you keep your job, madame." Carmilla said, bowing slightly to the girl. She could see jealous glances of co-workers, mostly the males, but she could care less.

"You may call me by Carmilla, by the way, mor cher." She said, hoping to ease Adeline's worries by offering her name. It wasn't something she often did, but Carm felt as if now was the time to.

"Ad-Adeline" girl said finally, but she still had a few questions "Mademoiselle Carmilla? I now understand that you will defend me if you get me fired, but you wouldn't do anything that could get me fired, correct?" The short one asked, looking at jealous men, and the adoring women.

"I stand out enough in central France" she says raising her arms to show that the sleeves go a couple inches past her hands

"Never on purpose, my

Dear." Carmilla said. Her voice of smooth and practiced. Wowing people wasn't knew to her. But impressing someone she actually had an interest in was.

"Maybe that's why you stood out to me."

Carmilla leaned against the counter again, and wiped her palms on her dress. "Do not be as afraid of the future. It takes away from now. Planning is good, and fear keeps us safe. But just like anything in too large of doses is can become deadly."

Adeline always had a thing for women, especially those who were sweet talkers. Adeline's vocabulary was nearly never put to flirting however, due to her shy manner, and the fact that her short build often attracts attention periodically, even without trying.but something about this girl was different

"You're very good at poetry... I really like that" the short girl whispered attempting to show to return at least one show of affection , against her own better judgement.

Carmilla smiled wide this time, but composed herself when she realized she was probably looking like a maniac, and settled for a smaller smile instead. "Do you like poetry?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Carm wanted nothing more than to make the girl smile at this point. Not to claim her as her own or even to just flirt for fun. Just a genuine smile would make a Carmilla happy for days.

The girl closed her eyes in order to search through her memories to find the right words. She wanted to impress another girl, not kiss her, or get her number, but make a memory that might last through the week. She eventually decided nothing could have the full effect she was looking for and instead decided to summarize a poem about poems.

"A poem should not mean but be..." She recited Ars Poetica

by Archibald MacLeish, from start to finish, ending with a small lift of satisfaction at the each end of her lip

Carmilla sat and watched in wonder, amazed that the girl had memorized the whole poem. It was astonishing, and even more so that she had such a good taste in works.

"Mr. MacLeish was worldly. You have a far better taste in literature than I do im sure."

Carmilla ran a hand through her hair and sighed. She could hear her father's steps becoming faster and the clicking of his pen through the emptiness of the store. He was becoming bored of a sorts, and would probably wish to return home soon to deal with whatever books needed to be dealt.

"If you would allow, may I ask what time you get off of work, Madame? I would love to continue our conversation. Perhaps you could tell me more about poetry."
