YEON JUN-SEOK.
Getting So-Min out of his arms and into the arms of her carer was no issue what so ever. Man, why couldn’t she have been like this when he first started to drop her off at daycare? Instead she spent the time screaming and making him feel like the worst person for dropping her off with some strangers. Well, I suppose Olivia wasn’t a stranger to So-Min anymore. From the way she clung onto the girl’s clothing so tightly, and had practically leapt out of her own father’s arms, Jun was convinced that So-Min had built a bond that he was going to have to challenge one day when picking her up from day care.

Hearing that baby voice had his hair stand on the back of his neck and shiver to run down his spine. It wasn’t one of those ‘oh my gosh, that is so horrible’ type of reactions. But rather a… he didn’t know how to pinpoint it. Whenever his wife used to do aegyo to him to try and convince him to buy something, he would feel the same way. Wait. No. Jun had to mentally drag him away from the thought of it. Did he just compare how much he loved and adored his wife’s antics to Olivia’s baby voice? Not to mention, did his body react to it too?

Clearing his throat lightly, he brought his attention back to his child, praying that his face wasn’t showing any signs of being flushed. Now that she was happy in the arms of her beloved educator, So-Min was finally letting him check the tags on her clothing. His hand travelled to the back of So-Min’s neckline, pulling lightly on the piece of clothing to see the tag. Okay, he had the size. Now it was just time to see if there were any clothes that would fit her in this section.

Hearing Olivia’s question, Jun raised a brow and gazed at her with a soft ‘mmh?’ slipping past his lips. “Oh… yeah. She uh… seems to be going through a growth spurt.” he responded, tucking the tag back in before turning to look at the clothing rack. Oh, man… he was way over his head. Looking at all the different combinations of clothing and colours, he didn’t know where to start. His fingers lightly hovered over the hangers as he inspected the various pieces. To any random person walking by, it would seem that Jun knew exactly was he was looking for.

He, in fact, had no freaking clue what he was doing.

Seeing the size that he was after, he took hold of the yellow and red patterned shirt with a small ‘ah-hah!’. He then was quick to notice that there was a pair of shorts right nearby with the same size number. Quick hands reached for the shorts before he stood with the shirt up higher than the shorts to create an ‘outfit’ before his very eyes. Dear lord. There was going to have to be someone out there that was going to tell him that a yellow and red patterned shirt didn’t mesh well with pink and purple patterned shorts.

Turning to Olivia, he showed her the outfit he had created for his daughter. Well, he needed an opinion. This was his first time doing this on his own, after all. “Honest opinion time.” he said to her as he held the clothes together “Good outfit combo?

Olivia happily held onto So-Min as Jun checked the tags on the back of her clothes for sizes. Holding onto So-Min was always a nice feeling. Working with children in general was a nice feeling, one she loved a lot, and one she hoped to experience personally with the birth of her own child.

That all went out the window in a rather unfortunate incident, and as much as Olivia tried not to think about it, it was hard not to, especially when there was this child, this beautiful baby girl, who seemed to have grown so attached to her somehow. Olivia briefly wondered if she should be distancing herself from both So-Min and her father because it bordered a line she couldn't really cross, ethically. As So-Min's educator, she was obligated to be just that and nothing more, but it was hard to remain uninvested when various things kept bringing her back to both father and daughter.

For now, she just focused on clothes shopping. There was nothing wrong with helping out, and it's not like they sought one another out either. Liv just happened to notice Jun in the same shop, and it would have been rude not to go up and say hello, especially since it wasn't like they were total strangers or anything.

Olivia nodded when Jun explained that So_min seemed to be having a growth spurt, which warranted the new clothes. Jun seemed to know what he was looking for, so Olivia stood patiently, occasionally cooing at So-Min and enjoying the happily gurgling she received in response. When Jun exclaimed, Olivia shifted her attention from daughter to father, quickly spotting the bright garment he'd picked up. While the shirt in itself wasn't so bad, paired with the shorts he'd picked out... well, Olivia could only make a face that was half polite, and half unsure of his decision.

"Honest opinion?" She asked, smiling a little awkwardly because how was she supposed to be up front about the fact that he seemed to have terrible taste when it came to shopping for baby clothes. "Uh... well, those are... interesting," she said, not wanting to be too blunt. "But I don't think they really go well together, for So-Min," she explained, before quickly following it up with, "or for anyone."

A small chuckle escaped her lips. "Here, how about..." Olivia faltered as she inched closer to inspect the same rack while gently bouncing So-Min in her arms. She spotted a frilly white top that looked really cute, and a pair of dark blue shorts that could be matched with it. "How about these?" She smiled at Jun and held them out before glancing at So-Min with a wider grin. "You like that?"

YEON JUN-SEOK.
Olivia called them interesting. Okay, well, that was good, right? A smile was about to form on his face, rather impressed by his combination. However, he heard that word. But. There was a classic saying that if you say ‘but’ in a sentence, everything before it was either false or not important. And then she explained how it really didn’t go well together for So-Min. Ah, okay then. Well, maybe he could keep the outfit combination in the back of his mind if he ever had to buy it for his cousins children or something? And then she added in her last bit advice; For anyone.

That one caught him by surprise, causing him to release a snort of laughter. Wow. That sass. Was it odd to say that he liked to see this side of Olivia? A smile began to grow upon his face as he heard her chuckle and she moved over to the rack. Watching the girl gently bounce So-Min in her arms while inspecting the rack was… well, he didn’t know how to explain it. For a moment, it felt like he was looking at So-Jin. This was how Jun had always imagined their weekends would be like together. They would go shopping for baby clothes together and So-Jin would give him sass for his combinations; after all, it was what they had done when they first found out they were inspecting.

Jun knew he wasn’t good at picking out clothes – So-Jin had always made a point of it and teased him for anything that he brought her way. Man, why was he feeling so nostalgic lately? Releasing a soft sigh, his attention was brought back to Olivia as she held up a white top and a pair of shorts to match. His brows raised slightly, reaching over to hold onto the hangers which Olivia was holding onto. “Wow. You really are good at that” he said in awe before looking at So-Min. His daughter was beginning to reach out and tug onto the clothes. “I think she might like it” he chuckled lightly before taking the clothes from Olivia’s hands so he could carry them.

Do you think you could maybe help me look for another… uh… let’s say four outfits?” He asked her “I’ll shout you a coffee or tea afterwards? But no stress if you’re busy.” Jun added in on the offer. After all, it was Olivia’s time off. He didn’t want the girl to feel like she had to help him. She probably had a thousand of other things she had – and would rather- to do.

Olivia waited for some kind of response from either Jun or So-Min and when she got positive reactions from both — especially So-Min who was already reaching out to try and grab it — Olivia's grin only widened. "I think so too," she said, nodding in agreement with Jun's deduction.

Olivia had come there to do a bit of shopping for herself since it was long overdue, especially since she hadn't taken a break to do that since moving from the UK, but when Jun asked if she'd be willing to help him find a few more outfits for his daughter, Olivia found herself not wanting to do anything else. She didn't really mind, and truthfully she may be just a little attached to So-Min already. She knew that wasn't really a good idea, especially considering everything she went through before the big move to another country, but helping Jun find some clothes for his daughter couldn't really do much harm, could it?

Plus, he could really use the help because what he picked out so far was... not great. Convincing herself that it was for the sake of So-Min not coming into daycare looking like the clown from McDonalds with those striking colours, Olivia could only nod. "Sure," she answered, her expression softening a bit as she continued to bounce So-Min ever so gently against the side of her hip. "It was going to be a lazy day for me today anyway so I don't mind." And quite frankly, it was something she'd looked forward to ever since she learned she was expecting. She never got to go through with it, of course, and while it pained her, she was more than happy to be a little selfish and indulge in it now — solely to help, and nothing else. Definitely not for anything else.

"Come on," she nodded with her head to another direction so he'd follow. "I think there are some nicer shades over by that other rack."

And sure enough, a little while later, Olivia had helped him pick out five outfits that could be mixed and matched since the colours all complimented one another. They were pretty cute too, and Olivia always looked to So-Min for a little approval as well figuring she recognised her favourite colours at this point with how much she enjoyed painting.

"I think that's about it, unless you want to get a few more sets?" Olivia turned to Jun once they'd picked up the last outfit. So-Min had a nice new wardrobe now and Olivia had, quite frankly, enjoyed the little shopping session a bit more than she probably should have. Jun was a nice guy though, and both he and So-Min were good company. How could Olivia pass that up when the only close friend she currently had in the city was her brother?

YEON JUN-SEOK.
Olivia really knew what she was doing. The girl was in her zone while Jun just practically stood there in complete awe, allowing himself to become another rack for the female to hang the new items off of him. He didn’t mind it, of course. He had never been one for fashion; So-Jin was the one who helped to pick out all his clothes for work. If he had his way, he would probably go to work in some sweatpants and scrub shirt or something. After all, the hospital had said that scrubs were okay to wear as they were doctors. However, So-Jin demanded that he should get some proper business attire. She helped to pick out all his button up shirts, matching them with the pants and shoes. She taught him how to tie a tie, and what to stay away from so he wouldn’t make some sort of fashion disaster and bring shame to the family name. And it was the same with So-Min’s clothing while she was pregnant. She had the whole nursery organised with all the newborn clothing and shoes. Heck, she even had So-Min’s first traditional hanbok ready for her 100-day celebration and Chuseok. Two things which Jun didn’t have the change to celebrate with his daughter or his family.

Hearing Olivia’s voice, Jun turned around to the girl with slightly widened eyes. They had managed to grab another five or so outfits; that seemed like enough, right? That was at least one outfit for every day at daycare. He nodded as he gazed down at the clothes in his hands “Seems like so,” he agreed, rearranging the items to have a better grasp on them. “I’ll go up and pay for them. I- uh…” Jun paused for a moment, his eyes darting up to So-Min who was happily snuggling in Olivia’s arms. “Are you okay if you hold onto her while I pay for these things? Actually… if you want… Did you want to wear the carrier? It’s a lot easier to hold her in it and better for your posture” Ah, there it was. Doctor Yeon coming out; after all, he was a physiotherapist for a Private Hospital. Do you think he could hold his tongue when it came to matters like this?

Without even waiting for an answer, he placed the items in his hands on top of a clothing rack to place aside before taking hold of the baby carrier fabric that he had slung over his shoulder previously. Silently, he began to fold the fabric in half and prepared it. “Here,” he said to Olivia before beginning his move to assist with the fabric wrap. Honestly, when So-Min was a newborn, he had opted for the carriers with buckles and such. But over time, he found it really awkward to have this massive carrier with him whenever he put her down or didn’t want her in the carrier while they were out in public. So-Jin had been the one to purchase the fabric carrier and Jun had been way too scared to try and figure it out. It was his Umma who had eventually caught him how to use it and I tell you what – it was a thousand times easier than the big old carriers.

Focusing on placing the fabric around Olivia, he frowned slightly as he realised that it was a heck of a lot harder to wrap someone else in one of these after being so used to wrapping himself with So-Min. It took him a few moments of complete silence, only occasionally muttering to himself in Korean as he tried to sort out the carrier, it seemed as if it was a success. He finally got So-Min tucked in and the baby girl cooed in delight being so close to her favourite educator. “Does that feel alright?” he asked her, moving back a step or so to try and identify if there were any areas of the carrier that he may have messed up or needed adjusting.

Olivia nodded when Jun said he'd head off to pay — however, when he paused and then asked if she wouldn't mind holding So-Min while he did what he needed to do, she smiled a bit, ready to assure him that she had no problems with that at all. What she didn't expect was him to offer the carrier.

Olivia didn't have much of a say in it because Jun was already keeping the clothes aside and getting the carrier off of his frame so he could help her with it. She didn't protest because she really didn't mind, though the entire time, her mind strayed toward the darker side of her thoughts — Was this appropriate? How did it really make her feel, given her experience with her own pregnancy a while ago? There were a lot of mixed feelings, though Olivia could only settle on one once the carrier was secured and So-Min was properly held within it.

For a moment, she didn't hear Jun when he asked if she was okay. All she could focus on were the few memories she'd clung onto from the past. The feeling she'd had when she knew she'd been so close to doing this with her own child. The feeling right now was bittersweet. It was a huge reminder of what she'd lost, but it also felt nice because for a while there, this was something she'd really wanted. It had been the only thing she wanted, till something came up and took it away from her, in an almost cruel way.

Jerking herself back to reality, she remembered that Jun had asked her something, and she took an extra moment to try and recall what that was. "Huh? Oh, yeah." She nodded. "It feels fine," she assured him, offering a small smile. Perhaps not as genuine, but her troubled past wasn't something she needed to discuss with anyone, especially not the parent of the child she was teaching. Already she felt like this whole interaction was crossing some hard-drawn lines but she was convincing herself in her head that she was just helping, and Jun needed it. It's not like this was going to become a regular thing.

"Go pay," she told him, nodding toward the counter. "I'll wait over here with her." So-Min seemed more than happy in her new position, and despite what it reminded her of, Olivia couldn't deny that it just felt natural to be cradling a child in her arms this way.

YEON JUN-SEOK.
Nodding slightly, Jun took hold of the clothing before making his way over to the counter (well, not before quickly checking once again that he had strapped So-Min in properly). With no one waiting in line, he was able to quickly make his purchases. As the cashier began to scan his items, he couldn’t help but look over his shoulder to look at Olivia and his daughter. There was a warmth in his chest beginning to grow. How could he explain it? Well, it was a wholesome feeling. However, it was cut short as he began to feel… guilty. Guilty that his wife never had the opportunity like Olivia was having right now.

As the cashier told him the price, Jun shook himself out of it. Okay. He needed to focus. Turning back around, he quickly paid the lady using his EFTPOS card and waited for the machine to accept his card. With the transaction complete and the items into a plastic bag, he thanked the worker as he took hold of the bag and began his way back over to Olivia. As he approached the girl, he saw something that made his heart melt like butter; So-Min beginning to fall asleep. Her cheek pressed up against Olivia’s torso, her lips slightly parted, and her eyes drooping in and out.

You are seriously a baby whisperer” he chuckled softly, not wanting his voice to be the reason So-Min didn’t fall asleep there and then. Quickly opening his plastic bag in his hands, he looked into it to ensure that he had taken the receipt for his shopping. That’s when something strange happened. Someone actually approached him to make a comment about his child. This was… different. A new experience for him.

Oh, isn’t she precious?” a voice softly cooed. Jun gazed up from the plastic bag to see an older lady standing before them. While there was a part of him that was absolutely smitten and overjoyed that someone had pointed out how cute his daughter was, there was caution in the air also. After all, he was protective of her. Had Olivia been any other person, he wouldn’t have dared to ask her to hold So-Min. However, he was finding Olivia to be quite… useful? No, that wasn’t the word he was looking for. Well, So-Min had taken a liking to her and Olivia also didn’t seem like the girl who would spend her weekends smoking pot and drinking alcohol. So, she seemed very trustworthy, I suppose.

The older lady smiled warmly as she gazed at the now sleeping So-Min who rested her rest so peacefully against Olivia’s torso. “Oh, what an angel” she cooed softly before looking up at Jun “Is this your first child? How old is she?” she questioned him.

Nodding softly, Jun offered the older woman a small smile “Yes, first child. She’s six months old” he responded politely, still trying to figure out if he should trust this woman or not. At his response, the woman’s face lit up and she placed a hand upon his arm, giving it a soft squeeze.

Oh, bless,” she said with warmth, before looking at Olivia. She then placed her other hand upon Olivia’s arm and looked back and forth from the pair of them, keeping a light hold. “You are both doing such a beautiful and wonderful job” she said to the pair of them with a bright smile “I saw you two picking out clothes for her before. She is very lucky to have a mummy and daddy like you two

Wait. What?
