Ithos Archipelago [Chat - D&D]

@Miz @Kagura @The Dark Wizard @Inquisitor @Shura @Musician @JayTee @DamagedGlasses @Morridan

I have started planning for the first session, I need to know if you will be there for not (saturday - 2pm est). I'm planning for some encounters to showcase battle mechanics, and planning situations where players can use their skills, etc... I just need to know whose there that I should plan for.

The first session may have some railroading and outright dice ignoring - this will be rare after a session or two. This is only to ensure mechanics can be shown. (I have to make sure the enemies live long enough to show case what can be done in a fight.)

I believe that the following players have already expressed their absence this week: Kagura, Musician.

As a side note (for Jaytee mainly, but effects you all) the rules for scrolls can be found in the mechanics page.

If it's going to be on Saturday, I will be able to make this weeks session. :3

I have D&D on friday night so: @The Dark Wizard and @Inquisitor - if you want to play, the character needs to be finished before friday! That is tonight or Thursday. I won't be helping a person make a character or learn how to use the spreadsheet while trying to play the game on Saturday - so connect with me before then or I wont be allowing you in the first session.

I got the shift off!

Praise Kagu!

So we got some mad swag booty this session, and we should discuss how to handle it.

We got:

500 gp reward from turning in the merchant who wanted us to find the crates 'cause he was smuggling shark scale armor.

60 gp bounty from turning in the smugglers who STOLE the crates

and 16 gp, 25 sp, 69 cp from the pockets of the thief smugglers.

This totals in a haul of 576 gp, 25 sp, and 69 cp.

What do we do with all this swag? How do we split it, and what portion goes to the captain so he can distribute it between the crew and financing the ship?

Personally, I am of the opinion that any money we make officially goes to the captain to be invested in the ship/crew, and any money we find on the job from beating people up and taking their stuff is split evenly among the party.

In this case, 500 gp would go to the captain, and the 76 gp, 25 sp, and 69 cp would be split evenly among the party, as the bounties were an "on the job" find, in my view.

Thoughts?

I support the thought of the "Officia Gold" being given to the captain, the rest distributed. On a side note, we should probably indicate / rule out what IS and IS NOT "Official Gold"...

Official:

Rewards from Clients

Rewards from Officials as "Good Citizen Rewards" ((Snitching))

Rewards from "Side-Quests"

Unofficial Gold:

Mugging people / stealing goods

"Looting" Corpses

Selling the weapons / trinkets / gear of those we defeat

Selling the ships we have... liberated... from their previous owners / stripping it of its supplies

Completing Bounties the captain has not ordered us to complete / bounties that were not picked up from the bounty-board

Receiving payment for favors that are unrelated to the job while on an assignment

Suggestions?? Changes??

I like it, Official Gold is likely to have larger amounts tagged to it, so having the Unofficial Gold side have more qualifiers means that the party has a better chance increase their own personal coffers and buy items for themselves without having to draw from the communal pot.

Plus, the things with the bigger bounties attached them (Official Gold) will go towards thing that are likely to cost a lot, like fixing and upgrading the ship.

I will edit the list when the need arises, adding to each when the situation calls for it I suppose. Ooooor- Pineapple could could put a list on the mechanics page based on the changes we decide on?
