Carmen frowned some and listened to her explain that the girl had been chatting about Christmas and how excited she was to have her Christmas with her family and she wouldn’t stop talking so Lyla had turned and punched her in the face. She sighed heavily and glanced over at Angel. “Let’s get you to the yard, take a ride.” She suggested quietly. “It’ll clear your head pumpkin.”

Coco went to grab a couple things from downstairs and just sighed heavily as he went through the jobs list he’d been given to pick from from the higher ups that he half answered to.

Angel gave a heavy sigh and felt guilt wash over him. He felt awful that he couldnt give her that kind of big Christmas everyone usually had. As they got to the yard he got Lyla to her favorite horse helping her set it up

Max came down and went through the kitchen giving a heavy sigh "We need to make a grocery run soon babe, food is scarce." She said softly

He just nodded and frowned some lost in his thoughts. Things were starting to get bad again and he was stuck between wanting to make max go home and get away from them and keeping her with him. He didn’t want to lose her but the idea that it was his fault she was stuck in this life upset him. A lot.

Carmen stood back while they sorted it out and she went to chat to someone in the office, waiting until they came out onto the yard and she went to grab marmite to take with them.

Max pulled her hair back taking a deep breath feeling a wave of nauosea hit her hard stumbling and catching herself on the counter "Johnny.." she said quietly trying to catch her breath some

Angel rode next to Lyla giving a small sigh "I miss them too sweetheart, its going to be okay though I promise." He said quietly to her

He frowned some glancing over at her and saw her looking pale, grabbing a chair and pulling it closer for her, getting her to sit down. “Hey, you alright?” He mumbled taking her hands gently and crouching in front of her.

Carmen sighed a little while she trailed behind a little bit just staying quiet and watching them for the most part until they got back and her and Lyla finished up with their horses, waiting by the truck with her, hugging her close to soothe her.

Max shook her head some closing her eyes tight "Im...Im really light headed...and feel sick." She whispered to him squeezing his hand some

Lyla hugged Carmen tight and cried softly "He doesnt get it." She whimpered "I just....I just want my mom and dad."

“Oh I know sweetheart I know.” She murmured softly and rocked her gently. “But you know your uncle loves you so so so much and he’s doing everything he can to be there and support you. He doesn’t want to replace your mom and dad like they were never there but he wants you to be happy.” She assured her still swaying with her a little and trying to comfort her.

Coco frowned just helping her up carefully, lifting her up and carrying her back up to bed, setting her down and stayed there with her after getting her a bowl and some water.

Lyla nodded softly wiping her eyes "I know....did you know he went to jail once?" She asked quietly having looked up her uncle's name once.

Max gave him a soft smile and kissed his hand gently "I love you Coco." She whispered sipping her water a bit

She shook her head. “No, we talked about him not always being on the right path but not about jail.... what are you doing googling people?” She giggled and ruffled her hair when angel got back to the truck and she left in her car as well, meeting them at home, heading straight in with angel to go lay down in bed for a bit.

“I love you too.... you doing okay? That came on kinda sudden.” He mumbled frowning still worried about her.

Max gave a small nod "Yeah not sure what happened." She said softly tugging on his arm wanting him to lay with her "Lay with me." She murmured

Angel got home with her and held her close to him as they layed there in bed "You alright babe?" He asked noticing how she was quiet the whole ride back

She frowned some and shrugged a bit, pulling back to see him better “What were you in prison for?” She asked him quietly. “Lyla knows. She told me at the car earlier.” She mumbled.

He nodded and pulled his shirt off, cuddling her close to him while he lay with his arms around her protectively. “Are you sure.... that you want to be here?” He asked her quietly.

Angel frowned some and sighed heavily looking at her "It was right before she was born....I was with the wrong group of people pulling bad crimes and I got caught. Got out on good behavior and changed after that. Got my job and just tried to make shit right. Ez didnt want me around Lyla for the first few years until we finally had a talk and made up." He explained

Max cuddled into him and frowned softly "Yes. I want to be here with you and if it means this life then so be it." She said quietly

She nodded a little and moved to be snuggled in closer. “What did you go to prison for?” She asked him quietly and played with his hands gently just yawning some and resting her head against his chest.

He frowned and made her look at him gently. “I... are you completely sure?” He asked her quietly. “We can’t ever have kids max.” He pointed out.

Angel gave a heavy sigh "We killed someone....robbery gone bad, I was the one who was caught even though I didnt pull the trigger they put me with manslaughter."

Max frowned for a moment and gave a small nod "I understand...I didnt really expect to have more kids." She admits quietly

She frowned as she lay there playing with his fingers. “The important thing is that you do better now.” She murmured softly, tilting her head and kissing under his chin, yawning some. “We all make mistakes and learn from them.” She mumbled.

He frowned some and sighed heavily just nodding as he pulled her into him , resting his chin on top of her head. “Alright.” He mumbled, kissing her cheek before he heard his phone ringing frowning while he answered it

Angel nodded some and held her close to him "I jusy hope that life never finds me again." He murmured softly giving a heavy sigh

Max cuddled close into him frowning as his phone went off "Who is it?" She asked

She nodded and smiled at him. “I love you.” She murmured softly to him, kissing him and moving to lay next to him rather than squished on top. “Get some sleep papí.” She murmured rubbing his chest gently while she flicked the lights off.

He frowned some and waved his hand at her to tell her shut up as he answered. “Coco..... yeah... uh huh.... yes sir, you have the number.... I’ll make sure it gets done.” He said, “Jon is released this week... I will sir. No problem.” He told him then hung up and sighed heavily rubbing his face.

Max frowned more looking at him as he threw the phone on the bed "Babe? Whats wrong? What happened?" She asked rubbing his shoulders some

Angel woke up the next morning yawning big and sighing heavily as he looked down at Carmen. He didnt really want his past to come out like that but it was a weight off his shoulders for sure

She frowned a little in her sleep and rolled over clinging to him and nestling her head onto his shoulder while she mumbled in her dream.

He frowned some sighing heavily. “I got a job coming up in a couple days.... I was hoping it was gonna come to it.... I’m gonna take Christine.” He told her quietly.

Max frowned softly and massaged his shoulders some more "You think I can't handle it?" She asked quietly thinking it must be something really bad if he was taking Christine. He usually took her on all his runs if he needed a female.

Angel smiled softly at her and pushed some hair from her face giving a happy sigh as he watched her. He could definitely get used to this everyday that was for sure.

Coco just nodded and frowned “I’m not putting you on this job and that’s the last I’m gonna hear of it you understand?” He asked her frowning, rubbing his face.

Carmen started waking up a little and grumbled a bit seeing the time on the alarm clock. “Five more minutes.” She slurred, curling in closer and burying her face into his chest.

Max gave a small nod and peppered kisses on his shoulders some "Alright...just...be very careful." She said softly to him before she wrapped her arms around him.

Angel gave a small chuckle stroking her face gently "Alright alright." He whispered glancing at the door when he heard a small knock "Come in." He said smiling again as Lyla came in "Good Morning kiddo."

“Yes ma’am.” He murmured and sighed a little, keeping her close to him. He still wasn’t one hundred percent comfortable with her being stuck in that life with him but he at least had a small reassurance from her for now.

Carmen grumbled and pulled a pillow over her head trying to stay asleep but when Lyla started climbing on the bed she eventually gave up and lay there grumpily.

Angel smiled some and looked over at Carmen taking Lyla in his arms "Come on, lets get you some breakfast." He murmured kissing the top of her head as he carried her downstairs

Max held him close to her and kissed him gently "I love you Coco." She whispered stroking his cheek gently

Lyla yawned some going to get some juice. “How come you don’t got a dog uncle angel.” She asked him and sighed a little, she was always asking if they could get pets and she was sure she was close to wearing him down enough.

Coco smiled and kissed her softly. “Mmm I love you too.” He murmured and pulled her in close to his arms. “You wanna head out? Go get some lunch?”
