Fantasy Into The Shadows (Scorpiodragon)

Kage|Human + Wolf Form
Multi-day Race

The next several days were ones of tough hardships and not only physical challenges, but also mentally challenging. He was tested with stamina as a man and wolf, using both forms to his advantage, canoeing, mountain climbing, foraging for himself, even finding shelter. Most nights when he found shelter, he'd stay in his wolf form to stay warm and stare at the fire that he'd built, thinking and reminiscing his old pack. With a huff, he would curl himself up and close his eyes, resting until the next morning, to complete the next challenge.

When he finally got to the mountaineering portion, he used his rope, grappling hook, and harness to climb up for an extensive amount of time; the brute would rest on ledges, his wolf keeping him company while he'd stare out at the beautiful mountain ranges and the clouds adorning their peaks. Then, after an hours rest, he would continue upwards until finally reaching the top and having to hang-glide down. Once on the ground, he had to go through multiple more strenuous activities, having to use the stars as a guide.

He was beginning to near the end, the sound of paw steps behind the worn omega; with a heavy breath, he continued on, barreling through the forest before stopping a few times to look at the stars. He would then turn in the correct direction and start moving that way, the scent of the Alpha filling his nostrils; that was a big indicator he was going the right way. After the long trek to the end point, the male finally dropped and panted, his ears flattened against his head as he shook himself.

Thanatos
Alpha|Human
End of Multi-Day Race
Thanatos had spent the last eleven days at the finishing line, the alien omega being sent on a run that pups took when they were ten and had been purposely made rough and difficult with the intention of keeping the alien from the omega Adam, at the request of his father. His beta and gamma had run relays behind the wolf and taken turns taking care of the pack, a few guards with the alpha to protect him from any attacks. The alpha was sitting on the ground when Kage finally appeared before him, panting from his run. He looked to the wolves behind him, Adam's uncle appearing and nodding to the alpha. "Well?"

"He survived," said Patrick. "Didn't use anything but the tools given to him and did rather well from reports from my brother and myself, as well as the guards sent to follow him," said Patrick.

"In that case...you have passed this test. Your next to last test will be to steal a horn from a pronghorn without killing or hurting the pronghorn at all and bringing it back to the Sun Den

by sundown. Your test will start at dawn on the third day and as usual there will be guards watching your movements to testify against or for you. Until your testing is complete...you will remain here."

He dismissed his wolves and turned to leave, the guards following their alpha back to the heart of the territory.

Adam|Omega|Human
Void Den

Adam had not seen Kage since the hour before his departure for the multi-day race. The omega continued his training as he was able to and took care of his werewolf mother through her pregnancy, his mother having returned to his father and his wolf mates in their den. The wolf did chores as he was asked, helped with the elders and pups and mothers. The teen was slowly getting permission to leave the den for short stretches to tie boredom due his progress but wasn't completely free which only contributed to the teen being antsy and anxious.

Kage
Werewolf
Start of Last Task

The male was given a task that nearly seemed impossible, to gather a horn from a pronghorn. Kage was beginning to see the bigger picture as each task continued to get hard; they were keeping him from joining, which caused him to think maybe, just maybe, they were going to kill him if he completed this challenge. Shifting, his large wolf form shook itself and yawned, his large tongue licking his chops. After having been fed, he set off to complete this last task of gathering the horn. On the way to the designated grounds, the brute wondered how exactly he would manage this. "Find the weakest, more elderly pronghorns then somehow get it down to the ground and find a way to carefully break it." Nodding at his mental plan, he moved into a large area of grass, his body blending perfectly. Creeping forward with a sense of caution, the male eyed the herd that was now in front of him; there were younger ones, adults, and a single elder. His hues narrowed and he finally decided to dart from his hiding place. His powerful haunches shoved him forward at a fast pace. Shooting out of the brush, the pronghorns were startled and soon took off. Kage snarled and locked his sight on the target that was hobbling along, trying to catch up to the rest of the heard. Moving quickly, the male used a hunting tactic to separate it from the herd that just kept running. Circling the elderly pronghorn, he noticed a crack in one of the horns, which would make this a lot easier for him. Carefully grabbing ahold of the pronghorn, he pressed the beast down with his body weight, seeing how it was still quite a big animal. Grabbing a hold of his horn with his teeth, he cautiously wiggled it back and forth awkwardly with his jaw until it finally snapped off, leaving a small stump upon its head. Quickly pulling back, he let the pronghorn unscathed and in the same health it was when he'd grabbed a hold of it. He took the horn and made his way back to the designated den he was supposed to meet the Alpha and overseers at.

Thanatos & Overseers

Having retreated to the Sun Den after assigning the last task to the alien wolf, even if the alien was the child of an alpha, Thanatos wasn't expecting much. The multi-day race was a challenge even for the pups of the pack to gain their branding, let alone for the few rare aliens they allowed into the pack and those were only when the alpha knew fresh blood was needed to keep the pack from sickness. Patrick calmly watched Thanatos pacing in front of the den, a few other members for the pack sitting around and waiting for the results of the alien, he thought back to his nephew's training. The boy was doing well, if not a bit skittish around his father still. Considering it was his father training him most of the time, the boy had a right to be skittish...any fuckups on Adam's part would probably get him killed. He had talked to Heather and his brother, getting Adam off of training for the day...Adam's own assessment would come soon enough but the alpha had relented to it happening before the pack's migration to the Moon Den on the other side of the territory in a moon's time.

When the alien did arrive, the few pack members could see the alien had managed to achieve and pass the test. This got the attention of the overseers and the alpha, all whom turned to look at the group. The alpha watched as the two guards who had been positioned to watch the attack broke apart and slid up to the alpha and overseers, speaking quietly to them in barks, the trio looking at each other and then Thanatos spoke. "You've passed...and are a member of the pack."

"You can go see Adam," spoke up Patrick. "I got him off training with my brother today."

Kage
Human to Wolf
The male set the horn down and listened nervously, his eyes flickering between the large group of wolves and humans before they broke apart and he was accepted in. Kage excitedly dipped his head in respect, barking a thank you, before darting off in the direction of Adam's scent. His large form launched itself forward with excitement and joy, his entire body consumed with a tingling feeling of pride and accomplishment. The brute's eyes surveyed the area before he spotted Adam and another male, his tail wagging like crazy as he moved forward. He whined softly when he got near them, his body not shifting from his wolf form; he'd grown more accustom to this form over the past few weeks. The male barked that he made it in and managed to get the horn, then dipped his head in respect towards the older male.

Adam
Adam and his father turned their attention to the barking as a wolf appeared before them, Adam whining only to be silenced by a rumbling growl from his father. His ears went against his head as he watched though perked up as he heard that Adam was in the pack and passed the last test before glancing at his sire who rumbled thoughtfully before huffing in response. Turning to his son, he barked for several minutes as Adam turned his attention fully to the General before whining and barking in return, the wolf then turning and heading off away from the den. Once his father had disappeared, footsteps disappearing, he turned back to Adam and let out a joyful bark of congratulations. "Father says I have to remember I have assessment before migration," he spoke, "and to show you the path that will be taken."
