From what I have read and listened to Sorcery does not really fit into combat but for a few spells. Still the Sorcery is pretty neat. I am tempted to purchase the Lunar book and see what options are there, shapechangers are fun and all, but I am going to build out my Twilight and see how they come out before doing that.
There are a small number of combat-based spells in the books, but they do exist. There are a few spells listed in the Dragon Blooded and Lunar books that you might wish to look at. If you wish, I can copy/paste over the text of the spells that are in the Lunar book since you don't have it, and I can do that with the DB book, too.

I started building, question, is there an online or app character builder for 3e?

I must confess that I am debating changing my sheet around a bit by dropping the Martial Art style and just instead focus solely on Melee as my Supernal ability. I'd get the four Merit points back to put somewhere else, and can then shift the MA Charms to Melee ones. But I do like the style that I have now. I'm torn. Any thoughts on this dilemma before we get started in on the game?

In my opinion, there are upsides and downsides to each approach. The MA style has fewer Charms to be had to max it out, while Melee has more Charms and variety of abilities to go with it. The MA style also has the second initiative track for the sword that goes with the Form Charm, and that is nice, if expensive to keep putting in Essence to fuel Excellency expenditures on it.

Basically, what do you wish to do? You still have time to make changes to your sheet, so you can experiment and see how a change works out for you.

I do not have the Arms of the Chosen, are there any good artifact weapons for a solar with a sorcerous bent? Preferably a dagger or pair of daggers or a ritual knife? I am good to spend up to 5 points on the merit for this if need be.

I'll take a look in my books later this morning. I have a school thing to go to for my nine year old daughter first.

No worries I work 8 to 5 (Healthcare Data Analyst) and have two teenagers. I completely understand ;-)

Zelator in Arms of the chosen is somewhat of a fit. It's a four dot Orichalcum Direlance, and while most of it's themes are around fighting sorcerers, it's also got abilities relevant to use as a sorcerer. Specfically there's an Essence 3 evocation for flurrying attacks with shape sorcery actions. This is one will definitely come across as a weapon for a warrior that dabbles in sorcery or for a sorcerer that is comfortable in close-quarters combat or even mounted combat.

Aside from that, there's a Soulsteel Goremaul in Arms of the Chosen that might suit your purposes better. Asphodel is basically a weapon that has the soul of an ancient sorcerer sealed into it. This sorcerer can be bargained with for knowledge (lore, training, etc.) as well as favors like lending his "retainers" like a spectral steed or mortwight. Its evocations brush against necromancy and is useful for fighting the dead.

I'm sure there's more but those are the most memorable examples of artifacts that have uses for sorcerers.

You're going to get much better charms much faster with that style than any splat will with native charms. Native melee might save some merit points and maybe even an ability dot or two, but to fight at the same level would take a much steeper xp investment if only because of prerequisites. However, Melee will to some degree let you prioritize and customize your fighting style based on which charms you want to take first or which charms you want to avoid.

Here, I'd probably go for rule of cool provided I can afford the point cost without breaking my concept too much. Defense charms are easy to pick up, and the best damage boosters are in Athletics anyway. Those being Thunderbolt Attack Prana and Leaping Tiger Technique.

I am being tempted into taking a Martial Arts, Particularly Single Point Shinng into the Void, which gives me two actions in a fight (the Sword and the character), that and its just really, really cool. Is there a good Reaper Daiklave out there in one of the books that is worth while?

EDIT: NEVER MIND ON THIS QUESTION, I realized that others in the circle have this form and I do not want to steal their thunder. Do not worry about this question. I want to have a group that all has unique and fun things, I do not just want to ooh and aw you all, but I want to be oohed and ahhed by all of you. =-)

That's the same style I currently have. It's pretty good.

Shining Ice Mirror from the core book is a decent 3 dot Reaper Daiklave. Its on pg 618

Sherwood Sherwood I literally just noticed that your character had that form, and edited my original question. It is a cool form.

A good martial style with swords is the dual wield one called Steel Devil Style. Its in the core book, pg 461.

Yes and no. Stormcaller is a very overwhelming artifact that despite being one of the only reaper daiklaves written up, was not written to be compatible with SPSitV because of how sheathing and unsheathing the sword interacts with it's main gimmick, which is the rampaging storm demon sealed in the blade.

An honorable mention is the ReaVer Daiklave Mistweaver, that if our ST allows you to take as a ReaPer Daiklave could be nice. It's basically Zabuza's fighting style if you're familiar with that character. Generates a veil of mist, leverages the concealment to attack from within the mists it generates.

Been a long time since I've seen anything Naruto related. Definitely haven't forgotten Zabuza charging through a small army of thugs with nothing but a kunai in his mouth though.

I would be willing to make a change like that since it makes no real difference in the stats or damage of the weapon. As a matter of fact, Sherwood's blade was normally a Short Daiklave that I allowed him to tweak into a Reaver Daikalve instead for use in the MA style.

I can't help but suspect he was the inspiration for the weapon, especially since his weapon is a textbook example of what a Reaver Daiklave would be like.

Psychie Psychie I think I've wrapped up what I can unless I missed something. Intimacies, conflict stats and such have been filled in. Hope the backstory is something you can work with. Let me know if it needs any adjustment.

Only canon Dailkave I could find (and afford) in the core book and Arms of the Chosen to fit a character like this was Adorei, but I'm open to suggestions for a 3-4 dot Daiklave for a spirit hunting adventurer. Otherwise, I think this is perfectly fine as is. Hope I can scrounge up enough points to get some proper armor and a hearthstone or two later on.

Gah, I hate cutting down plausible Charm lists. There's always too much to fit into a character, and I haven't even picked any of the bread-and-butter Dodge or Melee "don't die" charms yet!

I feel your pain. This is why I rarely get to invest enough charms in a supernal to get much past E1 or E2.

It is always a toss-up between being ok in a bunch of things or being an expert on just one or two things. Never an easy choice to make.

I just hate how the Martial Arts Merit is required in order to be able to buy MA Charms. Those four Merit points could go somewhere else so easily.
