Yea I got decent amounts of lore already drafted but I’m very malleable with factions involving main team members and will change the lore so the main cast and their chosen story arcs can fit right in

Okay I'm gonna go back to the first post and add some really basic rules, some tips and tricks, and the three starting missions to choose from (after a really quick IC training course) and I also want to hear suggestions. You guys gave a lot of good input on factions or characters that might be interesting to see down the line, but I also want to hear any ideas for missions you guys have.

I am so, so, so on board for the first mission.
Vampires, wraiths, ghuls + getting to go to France? Count me in! >]
I realize the 2nd mission involves Belial but, since it's more about espionage than going in guns blazing (which is exactly what Mel would want to do), I think he would be more likely to blow the mission and get himself (and his teammates) killed ^^"
Do all the characters get to know about the three potential missions IC?
'cause if so I could picture a fun scene where Mel rages that he wants to go up against Belial, and whoever's in charge tells him to cool his head and sends him to Lyon instead ;P
Oh also, where do they start? Meaning, where's the I.I. HQ/base/training facility?

Aziza will definitely choose mission three. As long as her lamp is back at headquarters where he can’t grab her.

I think Crowfather would be useful for any of the missions, in one way or another, but he'd definitely go for either Mission 1 or 3. Mission 1, because that's exactly the type of place he'd usually be and, thus a situation he'd be comfortable with, and Mission 3 due to his association with Aziza and some desire to see the Inquisitorial Knight be brought to justice.
Plus, his abilities are be well-suited to keeping lookout or scouting, both of which would be essential to these missions, in my estimation.

Oh no i just saw this threas
Hey, don't worry about it, this is pretty new, and not a whole lot's gone down yet.

As for where the Intervention base itself is, it's a wonderful little place I like to call an unnamed pocket dimension. Like, there's field offices in like Atlanta, New York, Dublin, Toronto, London, Tel Aviv, Osaka, whatever, but it's hard for any one nation to claim jurisdiction when you're in a pocket of space.

As for where the RP begins, the first one began with people stepping through portals to their main headquarters, where the director of operations (who may be a retired Greek war god) handed out dossiers and showed them to their rooms. I've decided that's kind of a lame way to begin a tactical RP, so we're going to start it up a different way. You're all still in the Intervention base, but your first order of business is to go through a surprise training exercise that'll test your abilities and recreate a mission from an earlier Intervention Team's recorded operations, a la HITMAN 2016.

Now, the thing is all three of these missions are still going to be doable, it's just a matter of which one deserves to be the very first mission versus which ones we can wait a while to do. Ayama Ayama He could definitely hear about scouts reporting on Belial's casino and realize that his asshole of a child-killing dad is one of Intervention's current points of interest, that is something that could happen. It'll all be down to what most people want to do by the time everyone gives their two cents.

Mkay guys, just looked over the character sheets again to get an idea of how things are likely to go between them and Mel.
Let me know if these sound good to you and I'll add 'em to his sheet ^^

GumGumChomp GumGumChomp I think Mel and Rachel would get along like a house on fire (and probably, together, would actually set more than one house actually on fire xD )
Nastarial Nastarial Mel and Amelia would probably get along fine, I think?
Eliasdagood Eliasdagood Mel and Aziza would make for good conversation partners, I believe, as they can discuss all things demonic :3
adrian_ adrian_ I honestly have no clue what the relationship between Mel and Divan would be like ^^"
Sylvio Sylvio Same with Johan- don't really have a clue :/
Stikes Stikes I believe the two would get along relatively pleasantly~
St. Boethius St. Boethius CaptainSully CaptainSully I expect Jacob and Leo to at least mistrust (if not hate him outright), at the outset. It'll be interesting to see how those relationships develop >]

Personality

Mel's fiercest trait is his loyalty. He believes in defending his team and his friends, no matter what (in fact, he can sometimes take this to absurd extremes). He can be a little socially awkward, but is always delighted to be included as part of a team and in any group or one-on-one interactions. His background makes him a little insecure and, for a demon, he's surprisingly sensitive. But his true nature also gives him a more ruthless side, and there's no denying that he takes pleasure in being powerful, crushing his enemies, and having the upper hand in a fight.

History

As the son of the Greater Demon, Belial, Mel is sort of like demonic royalty, essentially born into the upper echelons of the Infernal Empire. He was expected to do as he was told by his father, and never to question it, so that was what he did. But it always felt to him as if something was... off, or missing. One day, he met a girl- a simple human. She didn't seem to care that he was half-demon, or who his father was; she simply saw him as a boy. The two became friends and, for the first time, Mel understood what it was to be happy. It changed things for him- made him resent the expectations his father had of him. He didn't see the point, or correctness, in the demonic way of doing things, and he realized he had a choice- he didn't have to do as he was expected to, he didn't have to be a 'bad guy'.

Of course, when presented with his son's new point of view, his father became quite furious. He lashed out against Mel but, in spite of the pain and the threats, his son refused to budge. Out of rage, he took his feelings out on Mel's friend, whom he viewed as the source. Enraged and blinded by grief, Mel attacked his father. Belial was so surprised at the attack that Mel was even able to wound him, though he paid for it dearly. He was captured and repeatedly tortured, first as punishment, then to attempt to change his mind back, but he kept the image of his friend close and never gave in. He was eventually released in the course of an Infernal Intervention raid and, after his rescue, chose to join their side. He now fights against those who would do harm, and plans to one day take Belial down as well.

Fun Facts

He really, really loves candy. He's nearly always eating some, and can easily be 'bought' with it.

Placement

Combat - Defense - Stealth

Magical skills

-Demon physiology: Being half-demon gives Mel a few choice traits that are quite useful in combat situations. Funnily enough, his horns, wings and tail are not part of these traits, as they are merely physical representations of his origins, and are only helpful if he needs to command minor demons or imps who will defer to his rank. Far more useful are the traits that result in his having enhanced speed, agility, strength, and durability. He can react twice as fast as normal humans and is naturally gifted with a grace matching a that of a professional circus performer or Olympic gymnast. He's strong enough to lift a car or crush a man's skull in his first (which he quite enjoys), and it takes a whole lot of bullet wounds to bring him down.

-Shadow Magic: He rarely uses this power, as it is unpredictable and his control over it is limited. Since it comes from his father, it also gives Belial a way of tracking him down, so he really only uses it in emergencies. If he does use it, it gives him the ability to control shadows, making them defend or attack for him on command. They can also cloak or transport him, and grant him additional power if he needs it.

Mundane skills

(Most of these are a direct result of his demon half)

-Aggression: Though usually considered a personality trait rather than a skill, it essentially defines Mel's combat style. He's normally a very mellow person but, in a fight, all of his demonic energy surfaces. His teammates call him Dozer (short for 'bulldozer') or 'The Tank', because he charges in headfirst to any fight. His strength, resistance and disposition make him ideally suited to being the front-runner in any offensive move, tearing into enemy forces before they even really know what's hit them.

-Protection: His speed, aggression and resistance also make him an ideal protector or defender, able to take hits for his teammates they might not see coming or be able to withstand. This is especially useful when one of their casters needs time to prepare or cast a spell and is vulnerable while doing so.

-Discretion: Though not necessarily his go-to role, Mel can be quiet and sneaky when called upon to do so. This can make him effective when spying or surveillance is needed, as he's able to get to and stay in places that wouldn't be feasible for most people, such as hanging upside-down from the edge of a rooftop for an extended time, perfectly silent and perfectly still.

Relationships

[WIP]

ZacksQuest ZacksQuest is there any chance you can delete the posts on the character sheet page that aren't actually character sheets? Just awkward to flick between the different characters.

Amelia would feel more useful in 2 or 3, since general combat isn't something she's had much experience with, and her abilities are better suited to recon and the like. The aspect of having kids in danger in mission 1, however, would leave a bad taste in her mouth and push her more towards the one she isn't as useful in.
Guilt being the main driving force there, per her incident at her fam's academy.

I think Rachel would lean towards mission 3, plus it would be interesting to have her nerfed right after the training mission bc of a lack of water.

Hey man that ain't Shaddai, that's Jesus. He's just a peaceful hippie harbinger that walks on water and can turn water into a glock.

CaptainSully CaptainSully I started removing some of the posts, but I want to see if everyone's okay with me removing their inbetween posts before I start getting rid of all of them.

Also it sounds like Mission 1 would have its fair share or psychological ghost children and real ghost children.

So, after counting all the missions people mentioned they'd want to do, Mission 1 and Mission 3 are tied with Mission 2 way behind. I think it all comes down to what St. Boethius St. Boethius votes for, since he's the only one who hasn't.

Honestly it’s a toss up between Mission 1 and 3. Mission 3 would be like a very personal matter that St Jacob would want to take care. It would also mechanically be great for him since he could easily put some of his men in the escort mission to beef up his abilities, or at least cancel out the negative influence of being in ‘hostile territory.’
on the other hand mission1 is basically what his standing orders were for the majority of his career: THE UNHOLY SPAWN OF THE DARK ONE HAS INVADED THIS POOR TOWN.PURGE THEM AND SAVE THE CIVILIANS.DEUS VULT.
given his current more passive mindset and attempting to turn over a new leaf I’m going to say he would prioritize cleaning house with mission 3

also what is Heavenly Host’s thought on the Holy Trinity?

Anyways, what are y’alls thoughts on getting a discord? Trust me, this page is going to start getting very long very fast, so a discord would probably help

Shaddai is the God of Gods of the pantheon; higher angels are technically deities, he actually has children who are also gods, and Saints and Harbingers are basically ascended humans, but he's at the top because the only gods of greater than him are mostly unable to leave their home universe at all or lurk in the void. There are only like four gods that talk to humanity that are part of the same generation as him, and already one of them is confirmed dead.

Jesus was a Harbinger of Shaddai's will, who was chosen and looked over before his birth and was elevated to the status of prophet and Harbinger to bring about a sort of public image change from a vicious, jealous, "blind and nuke Soddom and make his faithful celebrate with incest" one to a very peaceful, all-loving, "the only people I disdain are the ones that abuse the common people" one. He's still around, you might meet him, and the circumstances of his creation and ascension may actually go into a much larger story arc.

The Holy Spirit is the pure force of will created by every single soul Shaddai has claimed and purified with his powers and not yet used. It is sapient, and to say it's powerful, even by the standard of a top angel, is an understatement.

Also yee I'm down for a Discord if everyone else is.

As a Catholic I find this both an interesting take and vaguely concerning. Good to go! The more I know and ask questions the less I put my own theology in a beautifully crafted universe.

I don't mind if you leave up the one about Belial and his lore~
