Two days travel take them to the edge of the vast desert land, a river cuts through the parched dunes like a lifeline to the city nestled on its edge. Zerzura is the shining gem of the Sand Seas, ruled by a wise and kind empress by the name of Scheherazade. Our heroes dock in the river harbour and begin exploring the exotic Arabian metropolis when not moments after they arrive the river begins to fail!
They are taken immediately to the empress who asks for their help. There is a place deep within the desert called the Chaos Dunes and it is there the trouble begun. It is now guarded ruthlessly by the undead that attack carvans and terrorize the villages nearby. Many people have fled to the capital city now. Scheherazade fears that the disappearance of the water is the latest disaster to come out of that area and our heroes are given one night's rest at the magnificent desert palace before they must begin the perilous journey into the sands to find the source of the terrible occurrences and put an end to them.

The morning they are due to set out the heroes have gathered for an exotic meal in the dining hall of Scheherazade's great palace.
The previous night Achyls began to feel that the setting of the desert was somehow familiar to her while Kallin's night was fitful, filled with strange dreams and the ache of the chaos magic pulling at his physical body.
Out in the desert they will find answers to many questions it seems, and not all pertain to the magical relic that will help them defeat Caraboss, nor to the vanishing water and the army of undead.

The morning brought them to the edge of the city where Scheherazade herself came to send them off. First however she introduced them to their desert guide, none other than Sinbad the Sailor. Meril seemed to have had run-ins with the rough-mannered sailor before and he delighted in teasing her. A final gift from the empress sped them on their way; the swiftest Arabian horses were saddled for the heroes and together with Sinbad they struck out for the heart of the trouble in the Sand Seas.
It was not long before trouble found them however as not half a day's ride out they were attacked by desert wyverns. Giant winged snakes with two clawed feet. The heroes fought off the nest of mythic vipers, Leia and Luness getting seriously injured in the process, but with the healing powers of Nyr, Leandra and Leo the two were put right enough to make it to their first stop.
Now they are camped at an oasis as the night wears on. Just before our heroes went to sleep however they were approached by a mysterious figure..Morgrim is his name though that he is doing in the desert remains unknown for now.

As the night went on, some of the group began getting to know the new member Morgrim, while other simply sat by the fire and recalled tales of their adventure so far. The night drifted on and the hero's all rested peacefully. By morning light however, that piece was interrupted by the appearance of two Djinn, Marius and Aliphas. The two mythical creatures take hold of Kallin and attempt to hold him hostage in exchange for the hero's to aid them in reclaiming their lost temple. Though pinned, the heroes turned the tide on the Djinn thanks to Luness and the others, sending the Djinn onto the defensive. Though they never intended to harm the hero's, they are still watched closely. All the while, the Djinn begin to speak to Achyls as if they know something about her but refuse to speak saying it was a tale for their king to tell. After the group has saddled up and on the move again, they find themselves in a rocky gorge where they are met with a guardian of the desert air, The Roc. The great bird immediately grabs hold of Leandra and takes flight. While those with the ability try to go after her, the attack startle the horse and sends them into a stampeding panic. While Quincy and Otto chase down the horses, the rest of the group attempt to free Leandra only to have her dropped from the Roc's talons mid flight. Instead of plummeting to the ground, another of Leandra's abilities blossom's in the form of a pair of wings out of her back. Once Leandra is landed safely on the ground once again, Sinbad gives the order to try and bring the Roc down to the ground after throwing a rope around its leg. While the others pile onto the rope trying to bring the Roc to the ground; Takeo, Malachi and Nyr go on the offensive to attempt and subdue the Roc by force.

With the added weight of Banba, Bob and the two djinn the heroes manage to bring the great beast to the ground only to have it speak into their minds. It explained how an evil sorceress (who could only have been Caraboss) passed through not long ago and killed three of the roc's clan after they refused to join her.
The roc agreed to help them after they explained they were there to defeat Caraboss and gave Vinter a feather to fashion into a whistle to call him with.
After they said their farewells the djinn guides Merias and Aliphas led them to the djinn camp, an old kingdom built into canyon walls.
Now our heroes are resting and exploring the town, waiting for the king for the djinn to see them and give them more information on the temple and to explain the mystery behind Achyls past....
