Indelible (For Caspen)

Trevor:

The fight went rather quickly, with Fenris winning quickly. After Fenris had forced Kevin to leave, Trevor stayed hidden in the bushes. He was shaking heavily, still terrified. He had been crying a bit as he sat there, his arms wrapped around his legs.

Fenris-

When I was sure he was gone, I locked the doors again, even the gate to the yard, then went back to Trevor and knelt next to him, pulling him into my arms. "It's okay," I said, softly and urgently, a hand running over his hair, "it's okay. He's gone. You're okay. You're safe." If I'd been anyone but me, perhaps I would've let him take Trevor, or perhaps I would've simply beaten the man into the ground. But I'd let him walk away with just a broken nose, and if he ever came back, I would just have to rectify that.

Trevor:

When he first saw Fenris next to him, he backed up, still worried. After Fenris spoke to him, he launched forward to grab Fenris. He held onto him tightly, burring his face in Fenris' chest, still crying softly. He was so relieved but still shaken from the incident.

Fenris-

"Shhh," I cooed softly fingers running through his hair over and over as I tried to soothe him, "it's all right. I'm here. Come on," I picked him up off the ground and into my arms, just carrying him back towards the house. "Let's go back inside, all right? Ill make you hot chocolate, and we'll read a book or watch tv." There was plenty to do inside. I just wanted him to be able to stop crying. I just wanted him to stop feeling afraid.

Trevor:

Nodding, Trevor clung tightly to the man, not ready to let go. The crying subsided after a little bit. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry."

Fenris

"It's okay," I said gently, setting him down on a chair in the kitchen where he could see me still. "It's all right," I cupped his cheek in a hand, wiped the tears carefully away with a thumb, and tilted his chin down a bit to place a gentle kiss on top of his head. "You don't have to be sorry. I'll get that hot chocolate, and then we can settle in."

Trevor:

"Okay, " Trevor spoke in an almost whisper. He chewed his lip as the man made the hot chocolate, his knees pulled to his chest.

Fenris

When it was done, I walked over to him and took his arm, helping him to his feet and pulling him with me to the living room. I drew the curtains and settled us on the couch, sitting close together with him leaning on me, and set the mug in his hands. "Careful." I said as I reached for the remote, "It's still hot."

Trevor:

Leaning on Fenris with his head on his shoulder, Trevor sipped the drink quietly. He was thankful to be there with Fenris and couldn't think of a better place to be.

Fenris

Once I'd settled on a decent channel, I just leaned my head atop his and sighed softly, trying to relax the rest of the way. I was happy he wasn't crying anymore, but the faint tremors in his hands told me he was either still afraid or still hurt - or both - and neither option was good to me.

Trevor:

He watched him carefully, biting his lip, "Thank you Fenris....For.... wanting to keep me." Trevor set his head back down on Fenris' shoulder, relaxing against Fenris' body.

Fenris

I looked down at him, torn with that feeling of hurt I'd had when I'd first learned the extent of his injuries, and just wrapped my arms around him, fingers curled gently but possessively in his hair. "You're safe, Trevor," I said quietly. "I won't let anyone take you." And if they tried, I would made sure I beat them nice and hard before I called the police and had them arrested for assault, breaking and entering, and attempted theft.

Trevor:

Trevor held to Fenris tightly, clinging to him and nodded. He wanted to just stay like that for a long time, just the two of them. He kissed Fenris' cheek gently, but kept his face close to Fenris'.

Fenris

I looked at him, briefly, and pushed away a few thoughts that weren't exactly appropriate, instead pushing his head a bit down to press a kiss to his forehead. "Just rest now. . . It's okay." I wanted him to feel safe, but I didn't want some sort of hero's glory affecting the way he thought. I'd bought him for Christ's sake, I couldn't go around thinking I wanted to kiss him. It felt wrong.

Trevor:

A bit confused, Trevor let his head rest on Fenris' chest. He closed his eyes as he held onto him. Reaching to find Fenris' hand, Trevor took it, realizing his hand was much smaller than Fenris'.

Fenris

I curled my fingers through and around his and sighed quietly, running a hand over and over through his hair to soothe him. If we could stay and just watch mindless tv a while, I thought maybe we could both calm down. Meanwhile, I would keep a lookout for anyone suspicious around, and if I saw anything I'd call the police. That man wasn't coming back here again without serious consequences.

Trevor:

With the sounds of the TV droning on in the background, Trevor let his mind wonder. He tried not to let it wonder too far, as he knew all too well that would lead to a panic attack.

((Hmmm. Trying to decide what to do next. We're sort of drifting into boring territory here lol))

Fenris

I watched the tv without really seeing it much, keeping an arm around him and idly making those soothing motions still. It would probably be best if I invested in a security system, wouldn't it? Maybe Trevor would like having a dog. . .

Trevor:

Stretching as he looked up at Fenris, Trevor yawned while making a little whimpering sound.

(( Yeah, any ideas?? ))

((Hooray! Puppy! :3))

Fenris

For a day or two, things were settled down, and I ordered the best security system I could find, but felt I should do something until it got here to make Trevor feel better. He'd mostly moved on but was still shaken and worried, I knew, so I took him out and told him we were just going to walk around in the part of town with all the shops. Instead of doing that, though, I took his hand immediately after getting out of the car, took him along with me into a pet store, and showed him the large pen with all the little, fluffy puppies inside. ". . . You can pick one."

Trevor:

Smiling down at the little puppies in the pin, Trevor looked up at Fenris, " Really?" He smiled widely and pulled up one of the puppies from the pin, a black and white spotted one. It licked his face and he giggled quietly, scratching it's ear.

Fenris

"Already?" I laughed lightly and picked up another puppy, giving her head a rub and running my fingers through her soft fur as I scratched her back. "You should see which one you like best. You can step inside if you like." They were all small puppies, so the wall was short enough. They were supposed to be here to socialize so people could choose, so it was all right to see them all at once.

Trevor:

Stepping into the pin, Trevor sat on a bench in the pin. Many puppies crowded around his feet and he patted them gently, smiling widely.
