  Louis is a tad erratic. This mostly has to do with his vampire impulses, which he still has very little control of, but also because of his own conflicting feelings about being a vampire. While the physical abilities part of it is nice, Louis really just misses being human. He left a lot of people behind when he was turned, all against his will. So, as a result, he's become a tad lonely and sad, stuck in his past life with no visible way out of it.
  
  A little of the old Louis remains, however. Though he lashes out and displaces his anger right now, there is still some part of the sweet boy who had his whole life ahead of him before he was turned. There is still a smile behind the fangs and clenched fists. It just may take him a while to find it... especially considering he's unsure if he was the one responsible for the murder or not.
  
  It wouldn't be the first time.

  Fears: Louis fears that he'll never get a handle on his vampire impulses like the others have. He also fears (and, deep down, hopes) that he'll be hunted down by angry humans and killed.
  
  BackgroundHistory:
  There was a time when Louis had no care in the world, possibly because he chose not to care about much. He coasted through life as if he had nothing to lose, probably because he hadn't realized he actually had a lot to lose. So he spent most of his life getting in trouble, causing a scene, what have you. And parties? Those were his favorite.
  
  Somehow, Louis found a way to graduate, which was, of course, a surprise to everyone, but he didn't go to college. Why would he willingly put himself through more school? His closest friends, however, did put themselves through that particular hell, so Louis stuck around to keep the fun in their lives.
  
  At some point, he met her. Katarina. She was the type of girl who was very much out of his league, but somehow he wooed her. His friends were surprised to see him so serious about something, but Katarina was something worth being serious about. There was no other way to describe it except he loved her. A lot. More than a lot.
  
  Louis began to do something really crazy then: he stopped partying. Well, not completely, especially since he was always taking Katarina out to said parties, but he stopped enough to get a steady job. It wasn't enough to get by on necessarily, but it was enough that after a couple years, he'd saved enough to buy her a ring.
  
  The night he was proposed was ironically the worst night of his life.
  
  It wasn't so bad at first. He'd proposed to Katarina, and she'd said yes. They and his friends celebrated at a party, and they all had a great time. But Louis made the mistake of leaving the dancefloor to go to the bathroom. (He really should've just held it, but alas.)
  
  He wouldn't realize it yet, but while he was wobbly and drunk on life and alcohol, he was bitten by a vampire. Of course, there was very little way of realizing this had happened, but it was enough that he passed out soon after.
  
  The next few days were hell. He was very physically ill, and he couldn't explain why. Katarina was there to take care of him, but Louis tried to get her to go to her classes. It wasn't long before he'd stumbled to the bathroom and discovered he had a set of fangs and realized what had happened to him.
  
  He tried to keep his friends away, and most of all, he tried to find excuses for Katarina to not see him. She couldn't possibly love a monster like him, even if he knew it wasn't his fault. But Katarina was stubborn, and she came to see him anyway.
  
  Unfortunately, encountering blood so soon after his transformation was... not ideal. Louis pounced on Katarina, sinking his teeth into her neck, and for the first time in days, he felt complete. But when her body went limp, he snapped out of his trance, and he was horrified to realize he'd murdered his fiancée.
  
  So he ran.
  
  He ran and ran until he was far enough away that nobody recognized him or knew where he was. It was hard, traveling by foot and only at night, but he somehow managed to survive without killing anyone else. Eventually, he came upon the manor hidden in the forest beside Clair de Lune, and he took this chance to find refuge. Little did he realize that other vampires lived there, and though they were reluctant to take in such a fledgling vampire, they also couldn't risk exposing their presence. So they begrudgingly welcomed him into their pseudo-coven.
  
  And there he has remained, missing the life he had that was ruined and the blessings he'd taken for granted.

  Demetria has always been the type to work hard. She's very focused on her goals and tends to pass up fun in favor of working or school. So, yeah, she's a bit of a "stick in the mud," but she doesn't want to be. She's just trying to get herself out of her sticky family situation at the end of the day, but it's not like she can easily explain that to her friends. The last thing Demetria wants to do is disappoint them, but she has to until she graduates. It's the only way to live securely.
  
  There is definitely a part of Demetria that wants to let loose. She is exhausted from working so hard, but for a long time, it's been the only thing she knows. In some ways, becoming trapped in a mansion full of vampires is a relief. It's an excuse to relax, unlike the party, which she was forced to attend by her friends. Friends that are now miles away from her.

  BackgroundHistory:
  Demetria's parents erred towards laziness. It didn't help that they were alcoholics and spent most of their time at the local club, messing around. This convinced Demetria from a very young age that she needed to work hard to get anywhere in life. So even back in elementary school, she was studying and doing the best she could in school, because if she had anything to say about it, she was going to live a financially secure life away from her parents.
  
  Though she probably should have lived in a different household, Demetria learned to take care of herself instead. So she avoided her parents every moment she could while also keeping up with her studies. Sometime in middle school, she decided she wanted to become a nurse, and she began making a plan to do so.
  
  Through her hard work, she began learning how to better take care of her often unconscious parents, but she also had no time for fun. Her friends lamented that she was no fun, but she couldn't possibly tell them that she was trying her damnedest not to become like her parents.
  
  Thankfully, Demetria's hard work paid off, and she earned a significant scholarship to her first-choice college. Unfortunately, this meant more hard work, which dismayed those friends she made every time she said she had studying to do.
  
  Somehow, they convinced her (more like forced her) to take a break and go to a big party that was held in the forest every year. Demetria had her reservations, but she figured her friends would leave her alone if she went along.
  
  She had no way of knowing she wasn't coming back.

  History:
  Aleigha Beck was born to Zach and Mariah Beck, a lawyer and a veterinarian who made good money, and cared about their paychecks more than they cared about their own daughter. In all actuality, they would have been fine never having children, but one tiny slip up and Mariah got pregnant. Being pro-life, Mariah never even thought to end the pregnancy, and as time went on, they decided to keep baby Aleigha.
  
  Growing up, little Leah had everything that she could have ever asked for, except the love and attention of her parents. Well, they said they loved her, but work was always their number one priority. Leah was practically raised by Cleo, the nanny her parents hired when she was an infant. The Spanish woman gave Leah more affection than her real mom ever did, and is probably the reason that Leah is such a sensitive girl now.
  
  For some reason, Leah never really fit in with the kids of her parents friends, except one. Most of them were the rich and snobby type, and Leah just wasn't like them. Because she didn't fit in and because kids are cruel, she was constantly made fun of and tormented for being different. The only adult that cared was Cleo, and Leah cried to her many nights, but she did have one friend through all of this: Winter Morrano.
  
  That girl was a spitfire, brave and beautiful. Basically everything Leah felt that she wasn't. They became close as kids because their fathers worked for the same firm, and even though her mother wasn't crazy about "that Morrano girl", their fathers were close so he never said anything. As they got older they became practically inseparable. After high school, Winter convinced Leah to take a year off from school and they grabbed a bunch of money and went on a road trip. That's how they ended up at the party.

  History:
  Leo is the product of an incubus and a vampire, which was bound to be an interesting dynamic from the very beginning. Born a hybrid, Leo has dealt with the snide remarks, weird looks and whispers from birth. They only became more noticeable as he grew up. His mother never really sheltered him from what was going on around him. Instead, she pointed the whispers and looks out to him, because she wanted him to notice, so that he could learn to ignore them and become better than anyone ever expected.
  
  Some would say his mother lived a life beyond her means. Despite being a vampire, or perhaps because of, she had a taste for the finer things in life. Money was extremely important to her, but whatever she couldn't get with money, she could get with her compulsion powers. They lived in an extremely nice house, had all the material things they could need or want, and belonged to a society of upperclass people, both vampires and humans.
  
  Leo developed a taste much like his mothers, especially as he got older. She taught him how to be refined and elegant, and to fight down the monster that lived inside of him, which is definitely something he can thank her for. But what he didn't know was the anger she harbored towards his father, the incubus that helped create him. She groomed her son his entire life to hate him as well, all so that one day, she could lead an attack against him and kill him.
  
  Only when that day came, she was not as ready as she thought she was. She and her entire coven were slain; Leo barely escaped with his life, and likely because of his demon heritage. He ran as far and as fast as he could, which is when he met Frederick. The two immediately hit things off and became fast friends, almost like brothers, even. They both found the house in Clair de Lune together, and have been there ever since.

  One might think that Winter Morrano always had it all. The wealthy family, best schools, popular friends, prom queen crown, hot boyfriend… But it was all just a pretty package on everything that was fucked up. When she was born, her parents were not overly excited as any other parents would be. They only had a child because it was expected of them. The second Winter was born, they handed her over to nannies and barely paid attention to her.
  
  In her early years, Win was confused, knowing that all kids had mommy and daddy and she, although having them too, barely saw them. They only met during dinners at long dining table. Mom on one end, dad on the other and little Winny in the middle. She knew something was wrong but was too young to name it.
  
  As she was growing up, Winter started to understand what was happening. Her parents were simply not interested. They gave her anything she might want and even extra if she asked. Of course, teenage Win abused it as much as she could. But all she ever really wanted was attention. She wanted people to see her. That’s why she flashed around the family money, trying to buy affection from her friends and her popularity. No wonder she became the prom queen. People liked having her around. It was profitable.
  
  But under that shiny crown, no one noticed the pain. Winny’s heart was slowly but surely turning into stone and she became known as the Queen Bitch. According to her own words, if people didn’t really like her for her, why should she bother and like them for real? But there was one person Winter genuinely liked and it was Leah Beck. The girls knew each other for years thanks to their fathers working together and Leah was the only proof that humanity still existed.

  But what she really wanted was attention from her parents. No matter how old she was, Elijah and Lilith Morrano simply did their own things, leading the family business, and didn’t care what was happening to their daughter. Winter started her fight for their affection with online shopping, wasting money, acting out, causing trouble. But that never got her anywhere. And this whole time, only one question kept nagging at the back of her head. Why did her parents not like her? What did she ever do to them?
  
  After graduating high school, Winny’s rebellion peaked. She started to party harder than ever, drink and smoke beyond the limit and drugs were not something she avoided. On a few occasions, the police brought her home and only the family name helped ensure that she was not charged with DUI or possession or anything else. Win was simply desperate and didn’t know how else to force her parents to notice her.
  
  But it was all in vain and in the end, Winny concluded that her old folk were never going to care for her.   When Freddy was born, there was no saying what was going to happen to him. He was born in roaring 20s and his parents were the greatest partiers, raising their son n a luxury of suits and flapper dresses, fancy drinks and parties. But Freddy was always a bit more on intellectual side, rather spent time with reading books and collecting herbs. He loved knowledge and his first ten years of life already determined that a scholar career was awaiting him.
  
  No one was surprised when he went to med school. What was surprising was that he went there when he was fifteen. Miracle child they called it and for that time, it was definitely unusual. By the age of twenty, he already graduated with honors and started to do what he always wanted. He became a doctor, had his own small office and a few patients. But he only practiced his occupation for a year when the war broke out in Europe. America did not join right away but the army was mobilized and naturally, Freddy was recruited, being assigned a position of the military doctor.
  
  Freddy coped with this new situation as he coped with everything. As best as he could. He was sent to Pearl Harbor base and it seemed that everything was going to be peaceful. And then he met her. Olivia. The love of his live. Beautiful, smart, witty, amazing dancer, someone Freddy could talk to for hours and never be tired of her.   It was December morning when the whole Pearl Harbor base woke up to sounds of explosions and screams. Japanese planes flooded the sky and dropped bombs all over, destroying everything. As one of the soldiers, Freddy had to fight immediately. That day was long as hell and even more tiring than ever. Once the whole catastrophe ceased, soldiers collected the casualties and filled the hospital with injured. Freddy was in his working mode and it was late at night when he finally stumbled out of the hospital, dirty, bloody, sweaty as hell, looking for Olivia. When he found her, his heart was shattered in millions of sharp shards. She was lying there, pale and beautiful. And horribly lifeless. As were all the other victims of the day.
  
  In that moment, Freddy snapped. He stopped seeing all that was good in life. Horrors of the war in combination with losing the one and only woman simply caused that he became disillusioned as ever. Awarded medal of honor for his service, Frederick left everything he knew and just roamed the streets of his hometown at night, trying to get so drunk he would forget cascades of dark hair and full red lips. No success though. Until one night, he was going home already when he was attacked. It all happened so fast that Freddy barely remembered a thing. Next thing he knew, he was thirsty beyond belief and his teeth were sharp as razors.
  
  His new condition also strengthened all his features. His cold, closed heart, his disillusionment, his mean side and created the Jackass. Freddy left his hometown to live his life differently, to find a cure for his memory, something that would allow him to forget about Olivia. With heart of stone and eternal thirst, he met Leo Richardson and the two became tight immediately. Being with his newly found brother, Freddy finally started to feel alive, they roamed the cities, bars, countries, the whole world.   Aleksei Drozdov was born in Russia during a time of political unrest. From a young age, he found himself working in factories to help his family make ends meet. After an unfortunate accident, his father was crippled and the responsibility to provide for his family fell solely on Aleksei. Angered by the vast wealth gap in Russia, Aleksei started to become vocal about his dissatisfaction with Russian Rule. Eventually Aleksei found himself part of a group of rebels that were making plans to overthrow the local government to demand better wages and working environments. The rebellion had a rat in its midst though, and the group was betrayed before they could carry out their plans. Aleksei was arrested and tortured with weekly lashings for information, but he refused to say anything.   Inches from death, Aleksei was rescued by a dark haired woman who easily dragged his limp body to a cabin on the edge of town. There Aleksei lost his humanity forever and began his new life as a bloodsucker. The woman, Alina was a vampire and a rebel sympathizer. As such, she turned Aleksei to save his life. At first Aleksei was full of rage when he regained consciousness and learned of his new fate. He took his rage and used it to get even with those who wronged him and the townspeople, slaying those authority figures with blood on their hands. His murderous rage became so out of control that Alina became concerned and tried to rein in the then youngling. It took a while, but Alina was finally able to help Aleksei find a part of his humanity again. The two ended up falling in love and for a while they were happy and travelled the world together. Traveling the world was something he did with Alina, so now he has become a homebody to prevent from opening up old wounds.   Vera has lived a bit of a gypsy-like lifestyle. Raised by her single mother, Vera’s childhood was composed of constantly being on the move as her mother got and lost odd jobs that were supposed to provide a living for the pair. While her mother, Lucia, was an extremely charming and charismatic woman, she was also eccentric and had strange beliefs. So just as quick as she was able to talk her way into a new job, Lucia’s peculiarities often lost her the job just as quickly. As such, Vera found herself working to help make money at a young age. When all else failed, Lucia would use her knowledge of palm reading and other such psychic abilities to tell people’s fortunes at fairs and festivals to make extra money. Vera would often pose as her assistant and was in charge of collecting the fees. While Vera believed that her mother truly was a psychic when she was younger, she became more reasonable as she got older, and began to see her mother more as a conwoman than fortune teller. Vera’s schooling consisted of spending a few months at each school before moving onto another town. Lucia wanted to teach Vera the art of palm reading, but Vera refused, having lofty goals for herself of actually holding a real job someday. Like a bank teller or store manager. Something normal and not always on the move.
  
  Their drifter lifestyle all changed though when Lucia became sick. Without insurance or enough money to pay for medical bills, there was little that Vera or the doctors could do to save Lucia from her terminal illness. Lucia then read her own fortune and saw that she would die a little over a year after being diagnosed. Vera tried to ignore her mother’s prediction, but on the very date that Lucia foretold, the 18 year old found herself beside her mother’s deathbed. Before passing on, Lucia apologized to her daughter not for things she had done in the past, but for things to come. Lucia said that she’d read Vera’s future and saw that her daughter would meet a similar fate as her. Vera again tried to ignore her mother’s prediction, telling herself that her mother was ill and delusional during her last moments of life. However, after burying her mother, Vera began to become paranoid that her mother was right.
  
  Determined not to live life in fear of death, Vera took control of her life for the first time and set out to see as much as she could of the country. On her travels she met many interesting people, and little by little found herself looking for ways to avoid succumbing to her foretold fate. The eccentric ways of her mother had rubbed off on Vera and she explored options beyond conventional medicine.   During her travels, Vera found herself in a town not far from Clair de Lune. There she stayed at a bed and breakfast run by an old woman considered by many to be insane. The two began talking and the old woman claimed she might know a way to help Vera avoid her mother’s illness. Unfortunately the woman did seem to be off her rocker a bit, and spoke largely in vague riddles. The best Vera could discern, was that if she attended a party held in the woods outside Clair de Lune, that she may meet someone who knew how to cheat death.   Vera always wears a necklace that her mother claims would keep her safe. Considering that her mother later foretold that she’d die despite the necklace, Vera doesn’t put much faith in the mystical properties of the family heirloom. How well could it really work if it can’t even protect her against disease? Personality: Mal has been around for some time and you don’t get that way without learning how to survive. He has the most experience out of any vampire he’s met and has mastered the art deception. He easily reads others and it’s hard for others to hide their intentions from him. He enjoys being around others at times but tends to also want only his own company at seemingly random moments. There’s this, air of melancholy that he carries around him. He has read almost everything there is out there at least once. He isn’t smug with what he knows but will tell you that he knows a lot, to the point where very little surprises him. The times he looks out at the world with sadness are the times he thinks of what could’ve been if his love were alive today.

History: Mal has lived so long there are times when he isn’t even sure how he got to where is or when he was born. Mal lived in a small Middle Eastern village and was turned after the last night of Ramadan. The one who turned him forced him to follow him, killing others for survival. They were apart of a nest that travelled gathering more and more followers to add. Eventually Mal learned what he could and then killed everyone else, as he was the only one who seemed to regret his actions and took no pleasure in what he did only doing so for survival. He travelled where he could, learning in an attempt to get to the source of where this all came from in the hopes of at least lessening the need for bloodshed. He only killed those of his kind that took pleasure in killing and even then it was after learning what they had known. Eventually his travels took him to Russia.

He’d heard of a woman who had powers that lived in a moving house. He was able to track her down but when he saw what she was doing to children and the experiments she was running on them, he let his rage overtake him and killed her. Before she died she injected a potion into him, this would draw beasts in order to kill him and eat his flesh. For years he’d run, never resting and struggling to survive. Eventually a pack of werewolves had tracked him down in the black forest in winter. When he talks of that night, he will not mention how he survived, changing the subject or skipping over the details, but when he walked out of the forest the next night, no beast would go after him and he’d become a half werewolf.

As the years and change in his body went on, he felt his mind slip. He slowly gave into the tendencies he’d fought against for so long and was seen as one of the most bloodthirsty vampires out there. England, Spain, Ireland, everywhere he went, he’d feed himself until the people were close to death, a stomach seemingly never full, then move to the next place. There were times when he was chased or nearly put to death. Then one day after escaping from a mob and hiding in a barn the next town over, a very unexpected event happened. Someone had seen him injured and decided to nurse him back to health. She allowed him to regain his strength and mind, even knowing what he was eventually. The two fell in love and were married. Mal had never even thought of love in his life. He’d always have some way of keeping busy or distraction. She was soon lost to him though from illness, offering him some words that kept him sane the rest of his life. As he buried her, he proclaimed to never fall in love with any woman again as he felt it would betray her, instead turning to men, his favorite ones were those that either tried their hardest to resist his charms or the ones that were reluctant or inexperienced when it came to matters of male love. He eventually made his way to France where he met up with the others of the group and became responsible for teaching them and others, now he watches over the youngest member of their home.
