Tallah applied new herbs to the new skin and wrapped it with a thin bandage. It would need to be changed in a few hous so there was no reason to wrap it for the long term. He leaned against Mac's stomach his hands placed as if he wanted to push him away. "I can't say that I don't feel anything for you, but I don't have the right to fool you into believing that my situation will ever change. How can you be sure that I am what you want? We've not known each other for even a day, yet you claim to have feelings for me that inspire dreams of an eternity. How do I know that this isn't just an infatuation born from curiosity or naivete, on both our parts?"

Garren accepted her compliment with grace. "What do you want? Even if it is just a quiet moment in the future in a time of turmoil, wish for it now. That's the wonderful thing about making wishes." He leaned in closer to Lyla. "You don't ever have to stop making them." He was close enough for his breath to disturb her hair. "And they don't ever have to stop coming true." He leaned in for the kiss.

"Dammit, Tallah, does it matter whether it is naivety or curiosity? I want to help you." Mac pleaded.

"I could care less if you feel the same way. But the fact that you saved my life basically fucked me over. And if there is anything I absolutely hate, it's someone not trying. So, either you are going to allow me to help you, or I can just do it by my self. Because unlike you, I actually know someone who can help!"

"If you knew everything, you'd no longer consider it a waste," the female remarked, thoroughly pissed. Having her enraged and yet still appear composed was a rare occurrence, and typically, it wasn't one you'd wish to see. She continued, "It was all in vain hoping you'd be any different." The blades torn from her boots, they rested back in her pockets, allowing her to tramp away from the crocodile.

"Oh  my dear Lyla. The real question is what didn't I expect." He gave her a closed eye smile before vanishing in a tightly wrapped swirl of raindow energy. "I'm usually ready for anything, my dear." He reappeared behind her with her other shotgun in hand, playing with it like a wodden pistol. "It isn't very polite trying to capture your only ride back to civilization when you're on an uncharted island in the middle of the ocean, so far away from any other landmass."

Magnus growled, moving quickly to get in her way. "Wait a second, you cant just leave now, I-" Then he realized, he was fighting for her to actually stay? He snarled at himself again and stepped away. "Fine"

Lyla looked back to try and see her other gun, but it wasnt there. Garren had it. Though, she just laughed and put the one she had in her hand away. "Haha, nice" She grinned. "I like your style"

Halting in her tracks, the female's eyes softened up, although her anger wasn't entirely dissipated. She heard something from the crocodile, something she never thought she would. "I can't what?"

Magnus wasnt sure what to say now, but whatever. "You cant leave" He growled lowly, not hostile at all but more of a quiet and somewhat shy growl.

Her hand rising to cup her ear, the giantess leaned closer to Magnus. "Ehh? I can't hear you~" She teased, singing the words.

"It matters!" Tallah actually yelled.

"It matters. You can't help me unless it matters. There is no one in this entire world who can change that simple fact. Don't you think Garren has tried? Why do you think that he hasn't been back in five years? He couldn't find a way to tell me that his search ended in nothing, but I already knew." Tallah stepped back from Mac and turned away. "There's a way to try and change things, but it's dangerous and nearly impossible. It has to matter, or failure will bring an even more terrible punishment. It matters."

(How the ever loving fuck?)

((Garren has jumper fever. What can I say?))

Lyla looked back to try and see her other gun, but it wasnt there. Garren had it. Though, she just laughed and put the one she had in her hand away. "Haha, nice" She grinned. "I like your style"

"You didn't think that I brought you out here just to fool around, did you?" Garren handed her the other gun and sat back down beside her. Reaching sideways, he opened up a portal and pulled a well stocked picnic basket out. He wasted to time in opening the basket and reaching for the wine and two glasses. "Care for a drink?" The cork popped out of the bottle lazily, on it's own.

(The forest is near your town. Because plot reasons.)

Mac sighed. He hated seeing the ten-year old like this. But there was a slight silliness to it all, since the elf boy looked adorable when he was angry. He even had that little pout that kids do when they don't get their way.

"Alright. I already know my feelings are pure. Just tell me what this trial or test is, and I'll do it."

(Which town? Hanover or the one I mention in my last post?)

"You'll kill yourself for me?" He whirled around and glared at Mac with all the skepticism a child could muster. "That's what'll happen if you fail, which you probably will, and I'll have to live with that fact for the rest of my life. For centuries to come!" He raised his voice with every world till he was just a few decibels short of yelling. "Why?!"

Magnus hissed at her, irritated at her now. "Shut up"

"Sure, drinking is kinda fun" She said, sitting and lying back and stretched. Then sat up again.

"Good, cuz I'd hate to drink this alone." Hr handed her a filled glass then took a sip of his own. Placing the glass down, he started unpacking the items in the basket. "I know that it's night here, but I'm dying for a good lunch right about now." Inside the basket was fresh bread and fruit, steaming pots of meat and soups with bowls and utensils. "Oh, look, they even packed us pie."

Lyla didnt know what sipping was, she just drank regularly like she would anything. "So you can grab about anything from anywhere huh?"

After letting out a chuckle, she responded, "I won't leave." Her anger certainly wasn't forgotten, but for now, she assumed it could be thrown to the side. "But, let me ask you this.. If you're the monster you believe you are, why do you want me to stay?"

"To put it into layman's terms, yes. Usually, I ask nicely and pay for anything I take from people. That being said, I've had this picnic planned for a few days now. You just so happened to be the one I brought along for the ride. It isn't like I could just go around Opening the Way for free, though. I've just gotten real good at making it look easy." He poured the wine bottle out into thin air only for a small portal to pop open just before the wine spilt onto the grass. Simultaneously, a portal opened above Lyla's glass and deposited the wine.

Magnus really didnt want to answer the question, it would make him look weak. But he had already put himself in that position already. "I have grown used to you" She said. It was a different way of saying he liked having her around.

"Yea, it does look real dang easy" SHe nodded, "So, you do this all the time? Just bring random people around and such?"

"Eh?" She voiced, her hands at her hips. Frankly, the giantess was disappointed with what was said, mainly because it was all that was said. Niklaus figured that it was because Magnus was just being himself, but that didn't stop her from messing with him. "Is that all?"

"Why not? I've already seen every place that I can open a portal to, safely. So, why not share it with a fresh pair of eyes and enjoy the way they see it? It keeps things fresh. On occasion, I even experience something new. It is a neverending story and I'm always eager to read the next chapter." Garren set about serving Lyla a sizeable portion of everything he'd unpacked. "On occasion, I just like to go places and help people fix their problems. The only thing is that people treat me like I'm something special when I'm just a normal human being, but what can you do about how people see you?"

Magnus didnt know what else to say, and he hated looking like some kind of stupid animal. He felt like he was small right now, and this wasnt something he could beat his way through. This is why he was a fighter, not a lover. "I am not good with words"

"Well, you can make some sort of neato portals and stuff. So that is kind of special, I think so anyway. Besides, isnt it nice to be treated like the super cool good guy?" SHe asked.

Responding with a hum, the female decided to finish with that. She didn't want a red-eyed crocodile on her hands, of course. The corners of her mouth rose, however, and she blurted out, "Let me take you to my home-village."

"Home village?" He blinked, tilting his head. Well, it was better than just walking around aimlessly. "Alright, why not?"

"I guess the portals I make are special." Garren nodded as he handed her a loaded plate and utensils. "I never said that I'm treated like a good guy. Where ever I go, usually some kind of big change follows. A lot of people fear change, so, by assumed correlation, they fear me. That fear usually manifests as enmity. Usually for every place that I go where I'm loved, there are two olaces where I'm hated. I like to think of myself as a good guy, but I'm never so sure. I've left sadness and ruin in my wake before."

Lyla started her eating, taking a few moments to think before responding. "Well, I dont hate you. Or at least I dont think I dont, I really havent known ya long enough to know" She shrugged. "So far you seem pretty cool"
