Immortal Sins [Inactive]

"It's okay. I'll go back later. Cherice can stay a few nights alone." Token shuddered, "Plus, Nate's a creep. I don't wanna run into him again."

Nate caught up with the girls, sprinting when he saw Emma pick up Token, who had wounded herself--as usual. "Hey. Why are you running away from me?" He asked, keeping up with their pace.

Emma nodded, giving a short laugh at Token's statement, before hearing Nate. She shot him a look, not slowing her pace, if anything she sped up a bit. "We're trying to get out of here! Who knows how many of those things are in this area!" she exclaimed. "There's only so much we can do now, and I need to fix Token's leg."

"Fine, we will get somewhere safe and fix her leg. I promise I wont let anything harm either of you--not even myself. Now can you please stop treating me like a plauge of insanity!" He yelled, keeping up with Emma the entire time. They knew of the events that transpired after the war. He fell from the title of being their leader to being exiled, just because he was cursed by his Mistress.

Emma glared at him. "I'm not treating you like anything. You tried to stay and fight, we tried to get out of there. Sorry if that's how you feel, but right now, it doesn't matter." she said, making a turn. "Just shut up and keep up then, if you're coming." she announced, tightening her grip on Token's leg.

"Yeah! Shut up!" Token added, feeling the need to add her own two cents into the conversation, "Also, has anybody told you that the whole "oh my lady" thing is kind of creepy? Like, really creepy? It makes you sound like an old sugar daddy from the 1800's."

Emma snorted, a grin on her face, though she remained quiet and continued running, listening to their bickering. "Token," she interrupted. "How far away do you think? I haven't been in this area for a while." she said, looking around, not exactly sure where the edge of the forest was. She knew it should at least be nearby.

"Like, go maybe half a mile in that general direction." Token waved the hand not clutching Emma vaguely south. The faint glow of a highway could be seen through the thick brush. Next, she turned to Nate and stuck her tongue out.

"I'm just a little girl, so I don't know what that means. Maybe you should just shut up before you taint my purity."

Emma nodded and started going south, watching the faint lights from the highway when she broke into giggles at the younger girls comment. "Alright," she chuckled. "At this rate, we should be there in a few minutes. Nate, you should calm down and put any weapons away, Token, appear perfectly fine just sleepy, and I'll put my Scythe away and slow down soon." she stated, a grin still on her face. "We'll appear perfectly normal, like siblings or something and in need of a place to stay."

"Purity, You honestly must not remember the Parisan Incident." Nate yelled, remembering how the small girl nearly destroyed the French Government due to a small bet.

"Oh. That." Token sniffed in reply to Nate's mocking comment, "Marie Antoinette had it coming. I mean, she wasn't even that good of a gambler! I could beat her with one hand tied behind my back! Which I did. Didn't really predict the whole "Viva la Resistance" thing that came up after." After finishing her rant, she nodded her head in reply to Emma.

Snickering Emma slowed her speed so she was now at a jog, the lights becoming vividly bright now. Putting her Scythe away, Emma gently grabbed Token's other leg as she stopped at the tree line. She looked back at Token and glanced at Nate. "You guys ready?" she asked.

"Yeah." Token replied, stifling an actual yawn, "The people who run this place really don't give a crap. I got into a fight with this mortal gang, like five years ago. Got shot a couple times, nothing to big, but I was bleeding pretty bad. Dragged myself in here 'cause I couldn't get to the warehouse. They didn't even offer to call the police, which was very nice of them, come to think of it."

Emma looked back at her, her eyes slightly widened. "That's....kinda weird." she muttered before shaking her head. "Well, thankfully that'll be in our favor." she said. "We don't need anyone asking questions. Actually, do you think they might recognize you?"

"Yeah...it is. Y'know, I always get a weird feeling when I go by that place. They actually opened up right when I moved here. " Token shrugged, her face creasing as she thought about these new pieces of information in a different light, "Maybe we shouldn't stop here. Remember what happened to that guy who represented lying or some shit like that? Can't for the life of me remember his name, but they say he got caught by this cult of mortals. Not sure if it's true, but with these creatures showing up again...maybe we should be a bit more careful."

Emma sighed, nodding. "Yeah....Do you know anywhere else we could go? Or at least steal some stuff from? Your leg needs to be looked at, and we need to try and get out of this nearby area." she said, glancing around, wondering if they were being followed.

"Dunno, really. Usually I patch myself up." Token pondered this for a moment, "We could try to break into the hospital. Real quick get in and get out type of thing."

"Seems like we'll have to..." Emma muttered, looking at Nate. "How do you feel about breaking into a hospital?" she asked.

"....Conflicted. Lets do it." he said, brandishing his axe. "I'll cause a distraction...there are evil people all over this place." He smiled a little too wide.

Emma raised an eyebrow, but nodded none-the-less. "Alright," she said. "Token, where would be the best place to sneak in?"

The dancer twisted out of the grasping claws of the monsters. She deftly twirled her giant spear around her, black fluid spraying out from her gracefully. Her body moved fluidly and quickly. She focused on nothing in particular, taking power from the pride that emanated from the creatures. It seemed to the immortal that whomever created them was filled with great pride, and the woman grinned at the thought. All at once, the monsters rushed her. The beads around her garb clacked together, much like the monsters' outstretched claws.

She lowered her body, ready to spring into the air. Large, glorious wings like that of a peacock shot from her back with a tearing noise and blood spilled from the place they grew. Right before the monsters reached her, the dancer leapt high into the air and beat her wings, once, twice, until she was high above the bloody field below her. The creatures ran into each other, slicing and killing before realizing their prey was too far above them to be reached. Many screeched as the woman tore off into the night sky in no direction in particular.

Moments later, she heard voices. Her adrenaline was beginning to rid itself from her system, so she alighted on a tree branch. A noise much like breaking bones emanated from the woman's back. She steeled herself against the pain, and prided herself in being able to force the tears away. She didn't even flinch. Hm, I sure know how to handle myself, she thought smugly. The voices from moments later could be heard nearby, and they were discussing something about going to a hospital.

The woman's eyes lit up when she realized three immortals were nearby. She dropped from the tree and landed with the grace and poise only a dancer can seem to achieve with years of practice. Still crouched and spear in hand, she said, "My, my. I haven't seen the lot of you since one of my grand parties in the '20s." She grinned at them before noticing the small one was hurt.

"Just can the theatrics, won't you?" Token grumbled, barely making eye contact with Nefertiti. She had worked for her a couple times in the previously mentioned grand parties. Token remembered the prideful immortal having a rather flamboyant personality, and liked to surround herself with things of glamor. The fanciful lifestyle had drawn the girl in, and she had made quite a name for herself in the gambling business of the era. She didn't like to remember that part of her life. The parties had been fun, getting hauled in by the police hadn't been.

"Your parties sucked, by the way. A little more security would've been nice. Now, as I was saying, getting into the hospital should be pretty easy. We can crawl in through a window or whatever, I don't care. Let's get some pain meds fast, though. The adrenaline's wearing off. "

Emma sighed, rolling her eyes at Nefertiti's comment. She didn't really care for her parties. Too much hunger for her new calmer tastes. "I don't prefer your parties Titi..." she muttered before sighing again. "Alright then, let's go." Emma commented, shaking off her slight mood, taking off, making sure she was running inside the tree line so they weren't seen. "We want to get in and out, and if the adrenaline wears off before then, keep as quiet as possible. Bite my shoulder if you have to." she told the girl on her back as the Hospital came into view. "I'll head to the back..." she muttered.

"Not enough cocktail sauce..." Nate muttered under his breath, scanning the area for any voices speaking of weaknesses to entering hospitals and such.

He remembered Nerfertiti. She would always be droning on about how fabulous she was. Nate thought of her more as a nuisance-- any thime she would get hurt, she'd keep it to herself instead of telling anyone. One thing would lead to another and she'd get them all hurt. "Who invited you, Peacock?" he asked, calling her by the name everyone said without saying.
