Other "I'm new to the site but I've been RPing for..."

I think one of my first roleplaying experiences would have to be on Roblox with all of those RP games that they usually have on the sites. My experience there though wasn't really much as I wasn't really a person who wouldn't roleplay a series for a long time. Quite recently, I joined an RP on alternatehistory.com which as of right now is on part 25 (I joined in part 21) and is still going good (even if its the plot is confusing for newcomers which is exactly how I felt).

I'm not nearly as active as I should be on this site, but I was a zealous roleplayer way back in the day. I used to roleplay on neopets a long time ago. A zeldapower forums, a narnia forum site??? however that happened? And a runescape forum. There have been a few others I can't think of right now, I'm sure.

but most importantly was dollwizard.com, where I learned the true ins and outs of forum roleplaying, even developed my own writing style and it is what drove me to pursue writing seriously. I was there for ten years or so before the site went down and we had to make a new one, where I moderated for a while alongside my buddies who remade the site. After about three-ish years that place went dead. Saddest day of my life. Anyway, I found this place about five years ago and I've been very in and out on various accounts and finally settled on this one. I rarely roleplay anymore but I love being on an active forum so I come on sometimes just for the home-y feeling of it.

I was on an old forum for a video game that had a "Games" section. I'm not really a forum goer, but it looked a lot like this after the remodel of the forum. Is this company that made this forum popular? Anyway, before the old forum shut down, the people that I RPed with started to fade away. There were some left, but they eventually made their own forum, based on a theme from the old forum. I haven't RPed in a long time, that was mainly due to the hectic years of 16', 17' and first half of 18'. My life has started to slow down, so that's why I thought I'd get back into it again.

I am also one of these people! I came from Deviant Art (they have Chatrooms and groups for roleplaying and stuff) but I stopped for a while because life gets busy and when I came back everyone disappeared! Now I find people occasionally on Discord but mostly I just write with my old partners because they were the only ones I could find!

When I was younger I used to rp on Miiverse, then I switched to Quotev, then to Google+. But currently I use this, RpRepository, Roleplay.me, and emails.

I started RPing on the Warrior Cats forums xD during the early/highlight years it was really popular, like this place is now. I started off doing one-liners but progressed to multiple paragraphs over time. It did eventually die so someone made a fan-made WCRP forum which was ok but it's pretty much dead now too.

So I came here! Only joined today, keen to meet people and get back to writing!

There are plenty of good sites. Being exclusively focused on anime does not in any way shape or form retract from that. I'm sure there are non-anime focused ones as well, though most specific roleplaying sites outside of RPN will usually be exclusively fandom-centered. Still, even if you don't like a certain fandom or medium, you shouldn't assume the site or the roleplay that takes place in there is bad just because it centers on a topic you personally don't enjoy.
Mkay I know this is from a while ago, but the reason I don't like the anime roleplay sights I found was that there was a bunch of lolita/shota sexual things and OOPS that's pedophilia! Soooo.... That's my reasoning.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's...wrong on so many levels I don't even know where to begin....

Yeah, I know! It was SO bad! And I don't mind anime (I actually quite like it) but after a good four or five websites being SOLELY devoted to it, I was like "WELP I GUESS THIS ISN"T FOR ME" and noped the heck out of it.

But yeah, if it was like, normal, LEGAL anime RPing, I wouldn't have been so Ick about it

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant...but I guess its best not to argue about it after all. You do you, I guess.

Started with my own forum with just my friends, then we went to GaiaOnline, then I did a little on tumblr and then I had ANOTHER site that shut down, and finally here.

I started on Neopets way back int he day. Eventually migrated to some forums, none of which ever lasted for too long. I've been out of the game for a few years, but I'm eager to jump back in.

Used to roleplay on a piece of paper that me and my buddies passed around discreetly in class. It was in script format too. Good/bad old days.

But anyway, i used to RP on a pretty nice site called RoleplayGateway. It had a pretty good roleplay creation system, a nice character management area and its own forum for people who prefer forum RP to their implemented system. Back in the glory days it even has instant messaging.

It's kind of going under a pretty big site overhaul right now, though there are still probably people roaming around.

I actually started on a site Xanga as well as MMOs like WoW, FFXIV. Also reddit. I've been around haha.

Every platform that allows you to post words has a RP community. Literally anywhere I go, there is one. FB, Tumblr, Twitter, DA, FA, specialised RP forums, fandom sites, anything that has DMs in it... anything!
Also, your voice! Warhammer, and DnD, and WoD, and Cuberpunk, and Apocalypse World - all of these exist, and can be played with your friends at your table!
I have been RPing for thirty years ever since I was a little kid, using my voice in a fantasy universe my uncle had created, with the set of rules, a map of the world, and such. I didn't need the web to do that, neither I need it now to meet friends every weekend for some DnD roleplays. And if I go to, say, deviantArt, and ask in my timeline if anyone's up for a RP, I will get half a dozen people responding. Because playing pretend is what people everywhere do, and there's always a roleplayer somewhere where there's enough people on.

I lived and breathed the old White Wolf RP Chats for about 5 years. That was some good times. Organized/moderated games and unregulated freeform existed simultaneously. After they made the horrible decision to not allow importing characters and stories to their new java chats, one of the organized games I was in broke off, and we kept going in MSN group chats for a couple years. Eventually, it was just me and one last friend continuing by our lonesome for a couple more years. Then, strangely, I bumped into my first TT group which lasted a few years until we all moved or got married around 2010.

So, yeah. I've played online hella years, just not for the past hella years.

I've read that Onyx Path has some sort of chats or forum play for their games (including the WW ones they were producing until recently), but I haven't explored.

i used this website called quotev back when their website wasn't wack, was on there for maybe three ish years until they changed the whole format and made everything so much harder to find? so i joined here about three years ago and have been here ever since.
