I'm going to guess that this is a stupid question, but does every character have to have a relation to one of the families, and if not, since this is an oriental fantasy rp, could characters come from other fantasy Asian countries (i.e. China, Korea)?

Yes, they must be related someway, either directly (born into the family) or indirectly (married in or due to career. Think of clans like companies in the same industry.)

Yes, they can be from other fantasy Asian countries. With heavy emphasis on the fantasy as long as you don't use IRL countries in ur cs, everything is pretty Gucci

To avoid misunderstandings on Ikigai's mechanics here are some notes to clear things up regarding the first post: 1. The rumors of Mizuha being kidnapped by a yokai/spirited away is mostly limited to members of the onmyouji family as normal humans do not even consider the possibility of that happening (let alone know much or believe in the existence of the supernatural). 2. The one who gave the information on the yokai Mizuha was last spotted with was a bonded onmyouji so no, it was not a regular human and it still follows the RP's meta. 3. Mizuha would be played mostly by me as I will be the one guiding everyone towards the end goal of the episode. While bunnying this NPC is allowed, if it interferes with the plot in mind, I will privately message the roleplayer to edit their post. 4. Throughout the RP, more NPCs will be introduced. It may be necessary for your OC to have relations with these NPCs e.g. members who wish to make a Nishimura Clan member would have to keep in mind that Mizuha Nishimura is the youngest daughter of the clan's head. NPCs can be found in the lore section. 5. Any further questions can be asked here in OOC. o 7o)/

Yes. In the first place, only malevolent ayakashi are known to cast curses. The Muroo only deal with breaking them.

Rhakun Your CS is fine but can you tweak the part about killing humans? I know it's stated in the Iso-hime description but only A ranks can interact with Ametsuchi. Your OC being able to not only interact but kill humans (people from Ametsuchi) breaks the world's mechanics.

Hm. But would an onmyouji still be capable of casting curses/ summoning an ayakashi to cast curses? Also, I have a question about my first character CS. It is complete, but I see that it is not on the accepted list. So that means something is wrong with it, but I'm not very sure what exactly. Could you tell me so I am able to fix it?

I don't think I did but it's alright. It's easy to overlook things in OOC so I'll tag you next time.
And no? I don't remember giving anyone permission to do so. I've clearly stated multiple times that deities (even fallen ones) are S-rank and no S-rank OCs are allowed because they do not need a contract. Even if they form one, they would easily turn their human counterpart into Wasuremono.

For this reason/plot hole, I've banned the creation of all S-rank Ayakashi altogether as stated here: x

A fallen deity isn't a deity anymore. It's a spirit who used to be something more but is now at ground level like all the other yokai. Figure out the issue and fix it I guess? >x>;;;

Sure! Just a question: It is mentioned in their folklore that Iso-Onna only manifest on a very specific period of the year (Shōgatsu, I think) and cannot interact with humans otherwise. Is it breaking the rules even if I play to that restriction? (I mean, she cannot enter Ametsuchi most of the year.).

To fit the world's mechanics, Ayakashi who can interact with Ametsuchi are A-rank. So regarding the time period thing, that is still only applicable to A-rank Iso-hime. (There are varying ranks of Iso-hime because ranks depends on the spiritual strength of a yokai.)

What I can suggest is that your Iso-hime is a B-rank who's heard of stories about hunting and what not from the other A-rank Iso-hime. Maybe during the specific time period, she's given the opportunity to enter Ametsuchi with them to see how the hunt is performed? She still won't be able to be seen by humans though even if she goes because a B-rank's spiritual presence is not strong enough to be visible in Ametsuchi.

I asked you this question in the main interest check after the ban to check in with you. It was a while ago, so I'm not sure if you forgot, but I've attached a screenshot. I guess this will no longer be applicable though, since you seem to have solidified your ideas about lore. I guess it can't be helped
