I have been wanting to do a Guardian Angel/Human RP that revolves around some hectic-lived humans and one person's guardian angel. It could end up a romance, but I'm going more for friendship/drama RP.


Basically, it would be the story of an angel fallen from heaven for committing a 'crime'; and the angel cannot regain itself without the prospect of redemption. The angel would disguise itself as a human being, concealing its wings with powers; and only revealing them in rare occasions. The person/people they protect could be in some sort of dangerous business.


It could be something like the mafia/mob, or demon hunting, or anything that requires action and protection under some circumstances.


There could be another angel that is basically the flipside of another, and they are forced to work together to redeem themselves; but in the process of trying to fix a broken dysfunctional makeshift family, they could break themselves. It would be a darker RP, but with some fluffy happy things here and there- but I don't want it all to be a comedy.


I would not need too many people, just enough to have a light angel and a dark angel, and then people. It could be one on one if anyone could be both people and angels thoroughly, and RP frequently with me.


The problems are:


a.) I need a partner (possibly more than one) and b.) I need someone to help me figure out what the people they protect do.


I would want it to be an original plot, not with any sort of highschool "all-teen" and mary-sue infested RP; I honestly want it to be intense with a series of original and diverse characters.


So... Yeah, anyone interested in helping me out? :poto:
 
I'd be interested in helping you out. I like dark stories. And I already have a story using that general premise, however I won't be using that because it gets pretty complicated and it's more of a comedy that slowly gets darker. But I'd be willing to help out.
 
Anyone have ideas on what the people could do that is dangerous?


:P And YAY! People like it! ^_^ I'm a literate roleplayer, and would look for someone who can write a lot; but not abandon the roleplay. I mean, at least one paragraph for me (especially if the story is slow, and when the story gets slow I struggle not to 'powerplay' a bit- because I get impatient and I am a writer. I am well aware of the problem, so I may ask to timeskip IF the story gets veeery very very slow)
 
That would be interesting... But not quite a family, more like a group of people. They should be sinners at their best; just people that no one in the right mind would associate with. A dysfunctional makeshift family.


The two angels, the light and dark; should act like ying and yang to one another. They balance each other, but I'm pondering whether one should be a girl and the other a boy. They shouldn't be TOTAL opposites, as they are both going to be three-dimensional characters. Actually, this RP should show them bending to become the opposite of who they once were. Like I mentioned earlier to, they slowly morph into sinners themselves; and twist into breaking themselves over the people they protect.

It's okay, plots are hard to come up with.


Maybe they could be different genders, i don't know.... Light could be male and Dark could be female?

The 2 angels could have sort of similar personalities two, maybe. Instead of being polar opposites or whatever.(just an idea)
 
That's what I was thinking. I am very very VERY good at finding character pics! :tongue: I actually could find ones that fit other people's characters. Ironically, I want there to be little quirks with the light and the dark. Something like, neither are quick to trust humans.


I'm less concerned for them, I'm more concerned for the humans at hand.


Because they need to be a group small enough. If all three of us (assuming that everyone who posted on here would be up for a a really good roleplay) could split it up with two characters each (really good characters though) With two people having angels then two people, and one person having two people... That could work. Or, if it was two people each person could have two people and an angel.


I'm just wondering what type of characters we'd make the people.
 
Well, maybe there would be one adult and one older-teen? Or if three than Two adults, one teen, and maybe a child? I don't know, I'm just trying to come up with ideas at the moment.
 
I think maybe the last one, sort of a variety of characters. They could all have one common interest that makes them sinners though; such as greed. They could also maybe even be some of the worse of the Illuminati or something, as angels are more Christian and the Illuminati are quite anti-Christian.
 
Maybe one or two older people (like 30-40 range) then one or two young adults (like 20-25) or like one 40-45 year old, two 17-25 year olds, and then either a way older or way younger person.


I don't know if we should really bring a child in as a main character though :eek: ....


SO who would be interested in roleplaying this? If you look at my posts from my private Walking Dead RP (now over) you'll see how I intend to RP on this one, the most recent roleplay I've done was a 'less than literate' one.
 
I would be interested. :big grin: It would be a bit more of a challenge, and help me with my writing skills. Also, I'm not the best at older adult characters, because I'm more of a teenager myself.
 
Yeah, they should all be sinners driven by certain things. The seven deadly sins are: Lust, envy, greed, gluttony, sloth, wrath, and pride. These people could be very diverse; but all have some quantity of these things. However, the seven heavenly virtues are: Humility, love, faith, generosity, zeal, kindness, and abstinence (self-control.)


I envision the people as being very consumed by greed, wrath, pride, and lust.


They should also have their upsides. But, we could experiment with potential characters...


The angels, light and dark (male and female)... I think they should both be similar, but on opposite sides of the spectrum. The dark side could act out more on sins, while the light on virtues; but as the storyline progresses they are forced to bend and meld into one similar conflicted person. 
I have been drifting father away from roleplaying teenagers, because even though teenagers are compulsive and less-experienced; I see the angels as being more naive about the human world in some respects. They do not understand a lot of human ways and phrases because they are not humans.


I mean, I say that because this came to mind...


"Hey, baby, so tell me did it hurt?" (anonymous)


"Did... Did what hurt?" (angel; confused as to what is going on since they are not injured)


"When you fell out of heaven?" (cheesy pick up lines)


"Yes. Yes it did, thank you for your concern."


I think I can roleplay an array of characters, and this roleplay would be a good way to experiment with that.
 
That sounds pretty cool. I don't know a whole lot about all of the sins and such, or virtues. I don't go to church very often, only on occasion with my grandparents. I mostly know what I've read in books and a few biblical stories that my brother babbled about when he was reading the bible. I also sort of see these people as those that have been given a choice of moving over to the more virtuous side of things with no trouble at all. They would refuse, not believing themselves good after years of being cruel, proud and greedy. Once one knows power, it's hard to not want it. 
Yeah, it would. In some of my stories, the adults are the less realistic characters; I make them more young acting and such, or far to old fashioned acting. Such as one character that was a father; he believed in all of those older beliefs. Then, later in the story, he acts more as a teenager than an old-fashioned adult.
 
I think that it would be nice for you to play the younger people, sort of a boyish immature guy when you're closer to him; but very serious in his business. It could be two brothers.


The question is, where would this take place? Italy? (I'm not thinking that so much, because even though I adore Italian culture and cuisine and the language, I don't think any of us are well-informed enough to portray all sorts of Italian mannerisms and life) Or somewhere like New York? Or like Chicago?


I would also (sorry about this) want to approve and help people on their characters :oops:


I'm also (since I'm so good at finding RPing photos) good at finding older people (like middle aged folk) that aren't blatantly ugly or a weird stock-photo.
 
I'm good at using Google, and maybe the setting could be a place where we have all been. I have been to Chicago numerous times, and know a lot of terminology. Sadly, I've never been to Italy or any other countries but know some terminology from books. I would be able to navigate places such as Rome and Vatican city well enough, from the book Angels & Demons. And I am really good at playing more immature or messed up characters too; I'm messed up and my brothers are immature, as am I at times.
 
Haha! Brilliant! I am good at describing uptown New York City (since I have been there.) I do not travel a lot, but I know more about Italy because I take a course in Latin with a teacher who is fluent in Italian. I do not know Chicago well, sadly; But I get the city vibe easily. It needs to be a more raunchy side of wherever we choose, taking place in a series of broken down motels; but then to lavish parties and elite wealth gotten from the mob business. Another place I'm throwing out could be New Mexico, if you were going for a setting like the TV Show Breaking Bad.
 
I don't watch TV much, so I have no idea of what that is. o_O Anyway, I could probably get the hang of New York City since my aunt has showed us pictures and such, and I know some well known places. I might use some restaurants I remember from Chicago, though that are just there. Often, I get confused and can mess up whats in what city and such. Boston might also be sort of easy for me, as I am very interested in it and plan on moving there eventually.

Whoever plays the dark angel will have to depict a pretty intense role; I mean, she's the darker side. She's flirtatious, clever, manipulative, and lovely with an underbelly of vulnerability to her charm. Imagine some sort of snake; sly and dangerous.


I kinda want the lighter angel to be naive, with a good heart; but his exterior can be off-putting. He'd be putting on an 'intimidation' technique, but underneath any fake gruff exterior; he would be very sweet and childish. I personally think the light angel's transformation would be more interesting, because he wouldn't show it; but he'd be so desperate to right the wrongs, and in the process of fixing the broken people around him- he destroys himself and becomes bitter and possibly mad.


Both could have the flaws of being full of vanity or overprotective behavior; and have some sort of curiosity that drives them to keep going. I'd see them first off as rivals, but flow into a partnership that may lead to a very bizarre friendship. Sort of like frenemies.

You just described me... besides the flirty bit. I'd love to try and play her, as long as she wasn't to old.
 
My friend is pressuring me to watch Sherlock, but I don't have the time... until I finish one of the 30 or so books that I'm working on. :P I'll watch those clips though, and research the girl character. :D
 
I don't want to make you make your character a certain way :rolleyes: but I just imagine her to be the person (her and the other angel) to hold her temper well until it is severely provoked and she has no other outlet to escape. I don't really think this RP will be a 'smut RP', so I imagine her being a bit of a tease from time to time; just to know that she can manipulate people with lust. Some weird way to describe how I imagine her would be: A delectable and very attractive outside, but once you are in her clutches you realize she is a toxic poison that is draining you of your good with her lies and her trickery.


The other angel, I think, would be a bit removed due to the crime; being kicked out of heaven. He'd probably be more open to people he's close to about things he doesn't understand, but more solitary than the darker angel; like not so open to socialization or lying. I kind've want it to mirror the dark by him appearing unapproachable, but when you're close to him you realize he really has no bad intent.


I'm excited to see them break down (OC sadism? NAH) Just because it is so intriguing to see characters evolve into their own hollow shells or darker sides (however awful that may seem.) Maybe the darker could find herself falling in love with people or a person in particular, and slowly trying to correct her wrongs as she becomes more and more frantic to save said person- which could lead to some pretty bad things. The other angel could so desperately want to guard their person (not even a lover, it could be mutual sentiment) that they become rash in their decisions and break rules they held near and dear; begin to use techniques the darker used before.
