Era's fingers interlaced with one another and her chin reseted atop them.


"... It's something I discovered a while back. I call it Bio-Electric Ki Disruption, or BEKD for short. I have only encountered it once and never heard or read of it from any scientific sources or journals during my travels through the galaxy. As far as I know it's  undiscovered, or at least unrecognized by most, if not all, intergalactic scientific organizations. But you can liken it to an EMP which specifically targets bio-electricity and everything connected to it, including Ki." She said.


She looked at Elprede out of the corner of her eye.


"I encountered the attack two years ago. I was visiting Earth on the continent called Australia teaching a class of human warriors how to use their Ki to fly when the facility was attacked by a relatively weak non-humanoid alien creature with a strange node on its back. I managed to drive it back due to its low power level, but then the purpose of that node was revealed to me. I noticed the energy condensing around the node and initially thought nothing of it, but as soon as its aura flared I felt some kind of invisible shockwave hit me and after that everything went to Hell in a hand basket, as the humans say..She recalled.


"My exterior limbs instantly went numb and my head began to swim. My vision blurred and my sense of balance was so thrown I couldn't tell up from down anymore. I fell to the ground like a sac of rice, and the creature escaped while I was down. The humans tended to me, telling me afterwards that their warriors and all civilians within a roughly five mile radius of the creature when it let the attack loose suffered from it as well. The farther away they were, the less effective it was. But they were affected all the same. Because the humans were weaker than I was, they recovered before I did which is rather interesting and somewhat counter-intuitive. You'd think that the stronger individual would recover first, but then again since I was so much stronger it's possible that I was just hit that much harder by it. It took me over two hours to be able to think straight. Another hour to be able to see properly. Another hour to move my arms and legs. And another half hour before I could stand and walk around." She recalled.


She then turned her head to face Elprede.


"The worst part was that my Ki was disrupted for the entire day. I couldn't so much as form a tiny ball of Ki on my finger until the next morning after almost fourteen hours of rest. And it was another eight hours after that before I could fly again." She said.


"I can imagine that you with your speed and with Jasmine's help could probably predict if such an unnatural wave of energy was forming and avoid it, but as a precaution I would advise that in the event that you can't sense any changes that you should at least keep it in your mind to be wary of anything that has a semi rounded horn-like node on its body, particularly if you see it along the spinal chord which is where I saw it." She warned.


"I have a theory about this biological weapon, but since I'm no scientist don't put too much stock in this idea... But I believe that this creature's body was essentially a factory on overdrive of bio-electricity. The reason for this is because as we fought and during each of its attacks, I felt a tiny shock of static electricity when my body collided with its own. As well, anytime we got near a source of electricity in the human world like a telephone pole or a utility box, the boxes shorted out and the wires along the entire stretch of the street shorted out and began sparking." She said.


"My theory is that this creature's node somehow concentrates it sown overdriven levels of bio-electricity into a weapon which it can then expel outwards. Based on the way its energy pooled around the node, I suspect that the node is the point of release. I noticed just moments before my vision blurred that the creature's body grew slightly smaller and its muscles seemed to relax for an instant. After that, I cannot say. The humans confirmed these momentary observations once I was able to speak again and discuss what had happened. When it took off, its body no longer shorted sources of electricity as it made its escape."


She returned her head forwards and rested her chin on her interlaced hands again.


"If that wave affected me so much I can only imagine the kind of damage it would do to your body, to say nothing of what it could potentially do to Jasmine... So be wary. If you ever encounter a being who can short out sources of electricity in its vicinity and which carries that rounded horn-like node anywhere on its body, keep your distance if at all possible. Chances are it can use that technique and is not worth the risk of engaging in combat." She warned.

Elprede stared Era down with a strange look of intensity in his eyes at the mention of 'bio-electric.' He had never heard of anything that could actually disrupt the natural body in such a way, the bioelectricity one formed was something he'd never even dream of messing with. It was the one thing that was keeping Jasmine from totally going haywire and stable. It kept her alive. The fact that there existed an attack that could possibly kill Jasmine frightened him to the very core of his being... he had no idea what he would ever do if Jasmine were gone. He has been with her, as her partner, for as long as he could remember.


The more that Era said, the faster Elprede was thinking. He was in total analyzation mode--gathering every detail from her descriptions and calculating them all in his mind. He was thinking of ways to counter or dodge the attack specifically first. One of the easiest, though perhaps most unreliable method was simply outrunning it. Nothing moved faster than a Nephelem and he was damn sure that rule was still in application. Another would be for him to generate enough electricity of his own to override and disrupt the thing's own bioelectricity... perhaps a combination of the Ki and bioelectricity would do the trick. The thought then came to mind on how badly that could backfire on him. Perhaps not the best way to handle it.


His eyes became more and more sightless as he delved deeper and deeper into his own thoughts. He did remember once running across a planet that he couldn't even go near due to the heavy electrical storms in the atmosphere of it. The planet had been almost completely covered by them, Jasmine had scanned them to be incredibly strong as well. They made the hurricanes and such on Earth look like child's play. The lingering thought of that was where they might live would not leave his thoughts... perhaps they were like the Nephelem; weak in relative to their power level, but had many quirks and hidden qualities to them that made them equal or above to the other races of the universe. It was food for thought.


Jasmine, what do you think of it? Elprede eventually asked her, knowing full well that she was currently scanning her own data banks for knowledge on what Era just described.


"While I am uncertain of nothing," he started after a moment of hesitation. That hesitation put Elprede on edge. "I believe I know what she is describing. A scholar had once managed to breach a planet that was near impossible to reach the surface of through a technique called 'Polarizing.' What it does is unknown to me, but it does mean that it could perhaps be used as a defense. Maybe it involves a change in your own natural bioelectricity, transforming it to deflect or repel the similarly charged particles within electricity nearby." She said, trying to make the code within her go faster. "It is my best guess, I'll be looking further into it in the meantime."


Well, it's certainly better than nothing, JJ. You're doing great. Elprede praised, feeling slightly relieved. Perhaps there was some hope for him to combat such creatures besides just running away entirely.


"Thank you, Niir'lana. Though I almost wish I didn't know so that I didn't have to worry about attacks such as those," he said, leaning back against the boulder and sighing, looking down at the ground. His vision regained focus on reality, though his thought processes were still stuck on trying to find ways to counter these BEKD attacks. They were much different than your standard blast attack. "I'm glad you told me. I'll be ready whenever I meet one for myself."


He jumped off the boulder and landed on the ground, stretching. "But, we should be getting some rest, or we can continue to brainstorm on different, unique techniques until we're both tired. I've got a few more experimental ones I want to share with you, honestly. That transformation I underwent gave me a few ideas... one of them being a similar power-up that might work for others as well." He looked back over his shoulder at her and grinned, hiding his worry over Jasmine well. "C'mon, I'm gonna need to be able to draw stuff you can actually see to really show you."


He took off towards the Saiyan outpost, though going slow enough for Era to keep up fairly well.

Era smiled as he thanked her. He went on about either getting some rest or brainstorming some new techniques, and it seemed the latter idea appealed more as he started flying off towards the base.


Era stood up and chuckled to herself before following behind him. Together they spoke for hours about their own technique preferences in combat and the details behind how they developed them.


It was odd for Era, finding a kindred spirit with a mind equally as curious and eager to learn as her own. Among the Saiyans she was an oddity. A Saiyan who sought knowledge instead of power and who placed a greater value on understanding the meaning behind how she could do what she could do as opposed to just seeking the highest power level possible. It was almost unheard of.


But Era welcomed the change of pace, as speaking only to power hungry Saiyans was tiresome after a while.

Two days passed by very quickly, and the day of the tournament arrived.


The Saiyans home world had indeed commanded them to send their best to the tournament for various reasons going beyond just taking them down. Valkyrie had recovered after 18 hours in the chamber, and her final power level was higher than even Nills predicted. His prediction was between 24-30,000, roughly. But Valkyrie's new power level as she stepped out of the chamber was an astonishing 42,600.


Valkyrie could not have been more proud. It was the first time in many years she'd experienced a beating like that, and because of it her body responded by growing more powerful than she ever thought she'd become. It was rapture to feel that much Ki flowing through her body. However as she powered up the morning of the tournament, pain shot through her body as her power reached approximately 24,000. Just over half her total potential and her body couldn't handle the power anymore.


According to Nills, just before Valkyrie departed the base, Valkyrie's body may have become more powerful than ever before, but it was at present incapable of handling that much power at once. There was just too much of it. She'd need several days of acclimation before she'd be capable of accessing all of it, and this reality infuriated her. However she accepted it, thinking that it was just a few days. She could handle waiting a few days for power like this. She didn't like it, but she could do it.


The morning of the tournament, Valkyrie and Era were together after literally beating out the competition from the qualifying rounds and waited for the official lineup of competitors to be announced.


@ChazGhost @Deathrattle BB (We can decide who fights who in the OOC thread. I have it in my head that Era versus Valkyrie would be an interesting bout, perhaps in the quarter finals, as I want to pit the two against one another to really demonstrate their differences in combat style and how they handle their respective powers. But again, we can decide OOC.)

"Lady, Gentlemen, and everything in-between welcome to the first ever Pyro Games!!!" the announcer over the speakers to a pack stadium of people, from the natives to saiyans to even the pirates. In the center of the stadium was stage were all the battles would take place. The competitors were told to be on stage for the beginning ceremony. "Now for this tournament we will be following normal tournament regulations with a few tweaks to it. For those who don't know the rules or need a refresher, contestants will be randomly chosen to fight by the computer through five different rounds. You all five rounds you then go on to fight the great Pyro himself. Next to win a match you most either knock your opponent out, make them surrender or , and this rule we added, finish them..." The announcer said with a silence going through the crowd when he said the contests could die. "Next you may use whatever you like for your battles, any fighting style, any weapon, any ki attacks, and heck you can even use the arena it self if you wanted to." the part he said with a evil smirk. "Now enough talk from me lets get the great man who made this all possible, the great Pyro!"








Panels on the stage separated slowly as music (video above) started playing. Then when they fully opened Pyro slowly floated up from under the stage. He was wearing a long black cape that moved with the wind. Once he was well above the stage he started speaking "I welcome you all to this great and historic tournament. This day you all come here from different paths of life for one goal, from low class saiyan and lowly villager to saiyan royalty and raiding pirate. And you know what goal that is? TO DEFEAT ME! I will take on anyone who prove themselves through all five rounds! Now let the Pyro games began!" Pyro yelled with two large pillars of fire bursting from panels behind him on his final words. The crowd then screamed, most with excitement but few natives in fear they will not get there freedom.

Era and Valkyrie watched the opening ceremony while seated on a bench just at the edge of the stadium near the entrance to the contestant waiting area. Neither of them were happy to be there, but they were under orders.


The only Saiyans attending this tournament were the two of them and one other who commonly worked with them on missions, a Saiyan named Bertoldt. He stood an impressive 6' 4", weighed around 225 pounds of raw muscle with no body fat to be seen anywhere, and had a power level of just over 22,000. He was a Saiyan Elite, and quite the infamous one at that. He was not only one of the strongest of the Elites, but one of the most seasoned having seen over 500 successful missions in his time. He was a quiet and thoughtful man who carefully analyzed whatever situation was presented to him and made rapid but precise judgement calls to ensure not only his own survival, but that of those who worked with him.


He was a near perfect leader, and at 44 years old he was still in his prime.


All three Saiyans were watching the ceremony and silently mocking the theatrics. They just wanted to get this over with. Being in the general galactic vicinity (within the same solar system), let alone on the same planet, as a Frost Demon sent chills down their spines. Their Scouters all told them of Pyro's current power level, and they were not at all hopeful of actually being able to defeat him. Given the Saiyan's rather complicated and less than friendly history with the Frost Demon race, they were sure that if and when one of them made it to the final bout against hi that they would be killed as a way to send a message to the Saiyans not to interfere with him any further. It was fairly common practice by those who fancied themselves intergalactic overlords.


Pyro didn't seem to be any exception. His recent movements suggested that he was out to make a name for himself and establish himself as some kind of intergalactic powerhouse. He would succeed too if something wasn't done, but what could they do? Their power levels were just too inefficient to do much of anything against him, especially if he took to his other forms. His first form was bad enough. They didn't even want to know what his power level was in his second, third, and true forms.


Each of the three Saiyans attending the tournament were nervous, but none more than Valkyrie who was still upset that she could only access about half of her newfound power. Era was as calm as could be. Her power was only 10,445, but she had a very particular method of combat which didn't rely on raw power to get the job done. She and Valkyrie had a quick sparring match not long after Val got out of the rejuvenation chamber, and even pushing her power to around 16,000 Valkyrie couldn't beat Era which was more than a little irritating for the crimson haired Saiyan.


As they sat and watched the opening festivities, Era kept a close eye on Pyro. Even if she couldn't hope to overpower him, at least she could manage to accomplish one thing against him if the tournament went south and the rules became null and void. Hopefully she wouldn't have to do that, but if she did she was ready.

Elprede stood somewhere on top of all the stands, looking down over the crowds, especially observing Pyro's arrogant behavior. He had literally only just arrived compared to the others who probably have been waiting hours, it did only take him maybe 3 seconds of flight before he arrived. His eyes narrowed as he peered at the many nameless, faceless people in the crowd. They were all here to watch the fate of the planet. It disgusted him.


He was the only Nephelem here, though that wasn't actually surprising to him. They left most matters or safety and foreign affairs up to him whenever they knew he was in that particular solar system. Such was the date of him being the color silver in Nephelem society, being entrusted with so much responsibility at such a young age. Most Nephelem were well above 100 years of age before they even left Planet Zaero, while he left at 18. How odd.


"Are you alright, sir? You seem tense." JJ asked suddenmy but kin fly.


Elprede nodded his head slowly at her. Yeah, I'm just worried about what's gonna happen when one of us makes it up to the Frost Demon. He let a quiet sigh, rebalancing himself stop of the large poles around the edge of the arena. Wonder which one of us will take him down... If any of us. While I don't want to undermine the abilities of the Saiyans, but I don't think any of them stand a chance even right now. I don't want to play up what I can do, but I can at least hurt him pretty badly still. Second form... I don't know. I can at least just focus on dodging his attacks if I can't hurt him past that.


"Relax, sir." She soothed gently. "Being nervous and tense has never gotten us anywhere before."


Elprede had to agree with her. He just wondered who would be the first contestant... He kept hoping it would be him just because of what he did earlier.

Pyro float to the announcers booth. "Ok lady's and gentlemen if could look at the screen, the first round pair will be choosen!" The announcer stated. There was a giant T.V. directly across from the booth. Pictures of of all the fighters appeared on it before being shuffled up. Then pairs were next to eachother with V.S. inbetween them. Val was paired with a huge lizard man in a luchador mask, Era was paired with yellow humanoid human with an afro, and Elprede was paired with female pirate who wanted him as a pet.


"Looks like this will be exciting first round. First up to fight is the saiyan elite, Valkyrie and desert storm himself, Riptor!" The announcer yelled. "Everyone not fight please leave the stage and let the fighters get ready"


The fighter a walked off stage, except the giant lizard. He was seven feet tall with huge claws and bright red eyes. He had collar around his neck that stated "I will enjoy ripping you apart princess.". He then got in a fight stance and roared at Val.


"Fighter's ready? Began!" The announcers said once both sides were ready.

Valkyrie observed as the Frost Demon announced her being paired with a gigantic lizard-like humanoid. Despite its mouth shape, it seemed capable of intelligible speech.


And that luchador mask was rather revolting, Val had to admit.


She clicked her tongue.


"If you really think you stand a chance of defeating me then you're in for the beating of your life," she said with a smile as she simply turned to the side in a neutral stance.


"If you think you can beat me with a stance like that princess then I have some bad news for you: You're going to die, and I shall feast upon your fallen corpse!" It roared.


Valkyrie's smile widened slightly as her Scouter revealed its power climbing to approximately 15,000. This thing had no device to measure power levels, and unlike Elprede it didn't seem to have any ability to sense energy either. It had no way of knowing that Val had access to around 24,000 of her 42,600 power level. Even with what power she did have access to she was more than a match for this creature and she knew it.


The lizard man charged at her, and as its fist came about she turned her head and let the punch land squarely against her jaw. Her head jerked back about half an inch and her feet slid back about two or three inches against the ring floor, but other than that she didn't move. The creature was more than a little shocked by her reaction to his attack, but he tried to make up for it by launching a furious assault against her. It began attacking as fast as it could, but Valkyrie dodged each blow simply by side stepping back and forth never once straying from the spot she was currently rooted to.


When the creature jumped back and away to catch its breath, she was still standing in the same spot smiling at her opponent who was taking big breaths of air to try and get his heart rate under control.


"I promised you the beating of your life... And a true Saiyan never goes back on their word." She said in a lower and more ominous tone.


The creature growled at her and took a more defensive posture as Valkyrie took a single step forward.


"Grr... What are you?" It asked.


Valkyrie took another step forward.


"I just told you. Do you have too much wax in those tiny ears?" She asked.


Her smile faded.


"I am a Saiyan, and you shall take the name 'Valkyrie' to your grave." She growled.


Valkyrie's aura exploded to life engulfing most of the arena and the surrounding audience seating in red light. The ground shook and the crowd began to scream in fear as her power began to build. She had been holding some of her power back to test the creature's strength, but even for a power level of around 15,000 its blows were laughably weak, so there was no point in holding back against it.


Valkyrie's power rose to 24,200 and she raced into action. Flying forward at full speed she slammed her left knee into the creature's stomach causing it to instantly lose all the air in its lungs as well as cough up a small amount of blood. As well it vomited whatever it was that it had eaten before the match onto the arena floor, much to Valkyrie's disgust. She clicked her tongue again and retracted her knee before performing a spinning kick to the side of its head.


The creature flew across the arena and seemed like it would fly out of bounds, but Valkyrie wouldn't let it. She reappeared in its path and kicked it back across the other direction. Racing across the arena, she repeated the action several times until she had batted it across to all four corners of the ring and then slammed it down in the middle. Once it was on the ground she slammed both heels into its lower back, breaking it almost instantaneously before she wrapped her right arm around its throat and threw it up into the air. Racing upwards she slammed both fists into its stomach, further enforcing the broken back causing its upper and lower body to begin bending away from each other.


Valkyrie then began a relentless physical assault on the creature bashing in its nose, crushing the front of its skull, snapping each of its ribs, and breaking both of its arms and legs before slamming it back down into the arena once again.


She landed beside the creature and examined it. It was still alive, though only just. It was conscious too, meaning its brain was registering all of the pain she had since inflicted upon it.


Valkyrie smiled.


"Rest in peace, and thank you for the warmup." She said, oddly sincerely.


Valkyrie pointed an open hand at her opponent and launched a single red blast of Ki into its body disintegrating it and leaving nothing but a black smear of ash behind. With that, she began walking out of the arena with her head held high.

"Riptor... has fallen... The winner is Valkyrie!" The announcer called out slightly sadden by Riptors death. "How do you feel after the first battle Pyro?" the announcer asked.


"She manged to kill our comrade, something the others will happily pay her back for that. But she fought quickly and powerfully, so I must give her that." Pyro said smirking. Then pirate came into the announcer booth and handed Pyro a glasses of wine. "Thank you" Pyro told the man.


"Wait are you drinking during the tournament?! Your supposed to help announce over it!"  the announcer said surprised.


"Calm down and just tell the crowd who's next" Pyro said calmly drinking some wine.


"Umm right sir... Next up to fight, the fast as light fox, Elprede V.S. the she devil, Alice!" The announcer called out.


"So I get to claim my little pet now, I look forward to it" Alice said walking on to the stage with child like smirk on her face.


"Fighters ready? Began!" The announcer shouted once both fighters were ready.

Elprede grimaced at the death of the one called 'Riptor,' was it really necessary? While he didn't exactly condone the killing of others, he supposed Riptor would have been killed by Pyro anyways for failing so badly. He closed his eyes and observed a moment of silence for him. He let it hang out for a while, even after the announcer had called him. When he deemed it enough time, he reopened his eyes and jumped off from the pole he was balancing on, landing gracefully in the middle of the stage. He looked towards Alice and... did not recognize her, so she did look vaguely familiar.


Who is that, JJ? He asked, preparing himself by doing several different warm-up motions, stretching each muscle out. Not that he actually needed to, but more for the fact that it kept him busy.


"Sir, that is the one that wanted you as a pet," Jasmine replied, though sounded a bit annoyed at the mere mention of it. "Her power level reads at just 10,000. A single blow to the right area would finish the job quickly, sir."


Elprede continued stretching, watching with amusement as the she-devil, Alice, grew more and more annoyed at him. He remembered who this person was now, he had a plan to turn them into a pair of shoes. Not literally, of course. I could've figured that one out. Don't worry, JJ, this fight will be over before they even realize what had just happened.


Elprede remained woefully still, allowing the tension in the air to drag on for minutes. He was focused solely on watching Alice shuffle back and forth, growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of an approach. That wasn't even the half of it, though, she was getting more and more frustrated by that inane look on his face that told her she wasn't even worth his time. Though, of course, she WAS nothing to Elprede, considering he had battled with opponents far more powerful than she and hadn't broken much of a sweat at all. Elprede was content to just let her anger grow until she made a rash decision. That stupid choice was all he would need.


Surprisingly, she waited patiently for him even as her vision grew increasingly red. He could see just how much she was restraining herself to just not charge him now. When he had finally finished his stretching, Elprede stood up and regarded her for a few moments longer before he disappeared in a flash, appearing in front of her. He waited just long enough for Alice to realize he had moved and threw a kick forward in his direction. He seemed to fade away as he moved again, appearing behind her and pulling his face back, his expression locked in a snarl, teeth bared.


"Here's what happens when you cross a Nephelem and insult them repeatedly." He seethed, jumping in spinning to the left. His leg shot out quickly and his heel smashed into her temple with the force of a power high above his own. The force contained behind that single blow was more than enough to surely knock her unconscious and to do catastrophic brain damage, but more than that, she had a very likely chance of simply dying outright from taking such a hit. Elprede's speed was certainly a very deadly weapon to those who were not a few times stronger than him.


Alice was blasted back from the hit, spinning through the air in the direction she had taken the hit and plowing through the far wall. Elprede leaned backward in the air and reached upwards--or downwards, depending upon perspective--landing upon his hand and flipping back onto his feet fluidly. A small cloud of steam came from his foot, telling surely of the massive amount of energy that was behind the single attack. He put his hands in the pockets of his cloak, watching the shattered wall for any movement. More than that, though, he was simply trying to sense if she were even still alive. He continued like that until he felt it--her life force was extremely low from just the single hit. He had held nothing back, unlike what he had done with the shark-man.


He turned to the announcer and Pyro. "Your pirate is alive. You should get her out of there while she still has time." He called.


"Sir, don't you believe that may have been a bit much?" Jasmine asked, a bit dazed and frightened by the fact that Elprede decided to use such an excessive amount of force.


He shrugged. Can't afford to hold back, JJ. The planet's freedom is on the line here. He replied simply.

The pirates doctor quickly got to the wall were Alice was stuck in the wall and started trying to get her out. It took a few minutes of carefully breaking the wall around her before they got her out. Then they rushed her to the infirmary for immediate medical care.


"Well that went even quicker then the last fight..." The announcer said slightly scared.


"This little fox speed is interesting to say the least. But if he makes it to fight me, I'll just crush him" Pyro said with a shrug drink his wine.


"Expiring words coming from you captain... Now anyway the winner is Elprede!" the announcer said with the crowd that weren't pirates cheering for Elprede.


The announcer coughed before saying "Now for the next exciting match of the tournament. The low class elite, Era V.S. the funky bounty hunter,...". He then paused and asked Pyro "is this really this guys name?".


"Who cares, just say it." Pyro said with a sigh.


"Alright... Era V.S. Disco..." the announcer said disappointed


"Looks like I get the foxy sayain babe for my first fight. Lets make this quick, I want to collect the frosty devil's bounty as soon as possible, ya dig." Disco said moon walking onto the stage.


"Fighter ready? Began!" the announcer stated once both fighters were ready.

Era was seated on a bench just outside the entrance to the stadium from the contestant waiting area and watched Elprede's match... if you could call it a match. The woman was put down in the blink of an eye with Elprede as nonchalant as ever. Era couldn't help but smile to herself when she saw the woman go flying and hit the wall. She didn't laugh or anything, but she was happy Elprede won so handily all the same.


Speaking of matches, Era was next.


When she got in the ring with Disco, she smiled flirtatiously as he called her a "foxy Saiyan babe."


"Aww, you're so sweet. Thank you!" She said, putting her weight on her left hip.


"You know what big boy? Just for you, because you're so charming, I'll give you a little look-see at my assets." She said.


She unbuttoned the top three buttons on her combat tunic revealing a rather hefty level of cleavage for him. He began to go red in the face and leaned forward a bit as she crossed her arms under her breasts and pushed them up ever so slightly while turning her head to one side in a rather sultry manner.


"Ho hoooo! That's what I'm talking 'bout! Ya dig what she's puttin' down boys?!" He yelled.


A lot of male pirates in the crowd began going nuts as she showcased her cleavage, some of them leaning over the front of their seats and onto their forward neighbors shoulders to get a better look.


Era, meanwhile, uncrossed her arms and took her stance as the gong sounded and the match began.


"Awright hot stuff! I'm gonna get this over and done real quick! Afterwards, what say you and me hit the town on another planet? I know a fantastic market with all the best gear and clothing a lady like you could ask for!" He said.


Era was still smiling very sweetly and flirtatiously at him and her lips parted. She disappeared and reappeared in front of him, her face mere inches from his.


"Whoa!" He yelped as he jumped back a bit, but Era forced her way forward to keep her face directly in front of his.


"Sadly I'm not that kind of gal who thinks shopping is life. But I'll tell you what I will do sweetie." She said as she put a finger against his lips and ran it down his chin, throat, and chest.


Her eyes closed and her smile widened slightly showing her teeth.


"Because you've been so nice to me and thought highly of my assets, I'll be sure that this match doesn't embarrass you too much... If I can help it of course," she said, drawing her finger down a bit further to his belt level.


He looked down at her finger with a goofy smile on his face and a rather pathetic laugh began to escape his lips. The male crowd of pirates were "oohing" and chanting about Era's behavior and appearance, and she relished their ignorance as to what she was about to do to this poor soul.


Era's eyes opened and her lips closed and she kissed Disco's nose which got him even more excited and red in the face.


"Just do your best sweetie." She said.


Her finger curled, and from that close proximity she put all of her weight into a single punch aimed just below his naval. The blow knocked the wind from his lungs and bent him completely forward and off his feet sending him flying out of the ring at great speed. However, he managed to recover and stopped himself in midair. He coughed and tried to catch his breath as Era remained perfectly stationary. Once Disco got his breath back he cleared his throat.


"Well now, that was pretty low beautiful! But don't worry. This won't take long!" He said.


Disco began to power up, and Valkyrie's Scouter read his power spiking to 14,800 which was a decent cut above Era's 10,445. However, Valkyrie was not worried in the slightest. She knew Era's prodigious talent and knack for combat would see her through this. The only question was which style would Era use to defeat this clown?


Disco finished powering up and charged at Era throwing a flurry of attacks her way. Era was able to block or evade most of them though a few snuck by her defenses here and there. However as the seconds ticked by it became clear that Disco's attacks were growing less and less effective. Every time an attack made it through Era's defenses, she remembered the angle and speed of the attack and adjusted her defenses on the fly so that the same attack never worked more than once. Before long, around ten more seconds in, and Era was dodging and/or blocking all of his attacks.


Disco flew back and away after another fifteen seconds or so of pressing this attack and fought to catch his breath as Era stood up straight and flicked her bangs out of her eyes.


"You'll need to step it up a notch if you want to beat me sweetie. I'm barely even warmed up yet!" She called, gesturing for him to come to her.


Disco caught his breath and renewed his assault, but this time Era defended herself differently than before.


Each time he punched at her, she deflected it deliberately across her chest so his fist and arm just barely brushed against her breasts. As she moved around she kept herself in very close proximity to him, brushing against him constantly with her legs, posterior, breasts, even her lips.


She was teasing him.


It would be any male Saiyan's dream to have Era brushing up against them like that, even if it was in combat. But right now Disco was both excited and embarrassed beyond measure that Era was toying with him like this. Her movements were fluid and soft as if she were made of water, but her ruthlessness with the physical contact was flustering to an extreme. Disco couldn't tell where he should be looking. Down at her partly revealed breasts or up at her face as she smiled ever so sultrily at him and continued to caress and tease him.


Before long Disco was again out of breath and Era was standing just out of his arm's reach with one hand on her hip.


"Aww... Are you okay? You seem tired." She said.


"Do-... Haaaa... Don't think you've won gorgeous. I'll be collecting that bounty and you won't stop me. Ya dig?" He asked.


Era's smile widened again.


"Oh, I dig." She teased.


"However even though I understand your drive I cannot in good conscience let you continue. It's time to end this warmup round." She said.


With that she raced forward and slammed her fist into his lower stomach knocking what remained of his breath from his lungs and causing him to pass out due to lack of oxygen to his brain. She stood there quietly and looked to the referee to start counting.


"Oh, uh-... Right... 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... TIME!!" The referee called.


Era waved to the non-pirate crowd as they cheered and chanted her name. She buttoned her combat tunic and walked out of the arena and back to the waiting area where Valkyrie was waiting with her arms crossed and a rather stern look in her eye.


"What?" Era asked.


Valkyrie just shook her head.


"Oh come on Val," she said as she walked behind Valkyrie and wrapped her arms around her pressing her chest into Val's back.


"You're angry because I had a little fun?" She whispered.


Valkyrie's cheeks flushed ever so slightly and her nose scrunched in frustration.


"We're not here to have fun, Era. We're here to do our job in helping keep this planet and people safe. Don't forget that." She said angrily.


Era sighed and backed off.


"I know, I know. But c'mon at least let me enjoy myself in the ring. Is that so much to ask?" She said with a chuckle.


Val sighed and shook her head again.

"Well that was an interesting battle, these saiyans sure know how bring the beat down. What did you think of the fight?" the announcer asked Pyro.


"Well it was an interesting battle to say the least..." Pyro said slightly redder then usual before he coughed. "Anyways I glad the took down that disco freak, I'm more of a classical man my self." Pyro said going back to a normal color.


"Well anyways... Lets continue the fights, next is..."...


Skip to end of the first round-


"Ladies and gentlemen it that will end round one of the Pyro games. We will take a short twenty minute break, to give our fighters a short rest. But before that, will announce the pairings for round two!" the announcer stated as the big T.V. shuffled up the pictures of the fighters once again. Era was paired with an alien in a ninja costume, Valkyrie  was paired with old looking native with an long white beard, and Elprede was paired with a some kind of green gooey slimey alien. "Enjoy your break fighters but remember to be back here twenty minutes sharp!" The announcer stated.


After the short break the Announcer coughed into the mic and said "Is everyone ready for the next fight? It's the fast as light fox, Elprede V.S. the goo ball, Slime!"


Then a giant humanoid shaped slime creature walked onto the stage. It yelled... well made weird sounds loudly.


"Fighters ready? Began!" The announcer shouted once they were ready.

Elprede couldn't help but smirk at what Era did to the poor man that was Disco. From the moment he saw her unbuttoning her tunic, he knew what was about to happen; that man was going to be utterly embarrassed and beaten. He found it interesting that she used her body as such a strange mental weapon against male opponents, and perhaps even a few female ones. He certainly didn't condone it but it was nonetheless an effective strategy to use.

Regardless, that match was very amusing to watch.

He didn't pay much attention to the other Saiyan's match, though unsurprised that he also won easily enough. Probably. Elprede was certain that everybody here that was either a Saiyan or himself were in a league far above those of all the other contestants. Each one of them had their own different tools and assets (he used that term loosely around Niir'lana now, considering her rather large breasts and posterior in accordance to him). Each one of them fought in different ways and utilized their skills effectively. He did find somewhat strange similarities in fighting patterns and tactics with Era, which made it easier for them to communicate and collaborate.

He sat and meditated for the period of the break, high above everybody else on one of the flag poles. When it was over and he was called once more, he opened his eyes and looked down at the announcer and Pyro. A small sneer grew on his face and he stood up, jumping down and went into a free fall. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the cold air rushing through his fur, his tail streaming behind him. When he approached the ground, Elprede arranged his body and hit the ground soundlessly on his paws, straightening back up to look his opponent.


He wasn't sure what to make of the thing. It seemed content to make strange squishy noises at him, though, and he was content to just stand there and stare. Trying to determine what the hell it was was just going to give him a headache, so he shunted the task over to Jasmine.


According to my knowledge, it's a goo monster.” She stated flatly. “While having no specific, definitive name, they are held together by a crystal core that is moved throughout the body. Fire and water are both very effective against them, however, a Ki blast with enough force may do the trick. Perhaps you can use your Kinetic Discharge?


Kinetic Discharge…? Hm, maybe. He thought back to that technique. It was an old one that the Nephelem used, and very often by Nephelem usually. It allowed them to transform generated kinetic energy by their rapid movement into a force of power usable to empower their Ki attacks. Gathering too much kinetic energy could lead to permanent damage in his body because of loss of control over the energy, or simply have the undesirable effect of rebounding and hitting him. Both could be potentially very dangerous. However, Nephelem were always passively using it, allowing them to store small amounts of the kinetic energy formed in their body as a self-sufficient, near limitless source of Ki. The faster you could move, the more energy you generated.


Maybe he could teach Niir’lana how to use that…


Sir, incoming from your 12!” JJ yelled.


Elprede snapped out of his thoughts just barely in time to sidestep a Jell-O fist coming in his direction, aimed at his face. Reflexively, he spun to the right into a straight kick… which passed straight through and into Slime’s body. He tried to pull his leg free and nothing happened. It was stuck.


Oh, shit.


Slime gurgled in what he presumed to be laughter and Elprede was wrapped up in a giant, green, slimy fist. His leg was pulled free, but he was in an even worse predicament. Predicting what would happen next, be borrowed a technique from Niir'lana; the rainbow-hued flow of the Ki Gradient formed around him as he focused his energy intently, tightening his aura to his body.


Just in time, as well. Slime smashed him down into the ground. The brute force of an attack actually landing on him shocked Elprede to the most extreme degree, only barely managing to hold onto his focus on the Ki Gradient still. It drained him considerably just to tank that one hit. A trick came into mind. He went limp and acted as if he was unconscious when Slime pulled him back up. The gooey monster regarded him for a few moments before hurling him across the stage.


Elprede spun through the air and almost immediately gained control of his trajectory. Balancing himself with his tail, Elprede spun and came down on all fours, sliding across the smooth surface of the stage and facing Slime once more. The Ki Gradient faded, leaving a much more tired silver fox, panting laboriously. Was that really what it was like to get hit? He was not eager to relive the experience.


JJ, scan Slime for his core.


“Sir, isn’t that cheating?” Jasmine asked.


Just do it, you did it last round anyways!


Elprede stood up and got into his fighting stance when Slime charged him once more. He dodged out of the way easily of a flurry of punches. An idea came to mind and he suddenly went to full speed instantly, appearing behind Slime. He unleashed a straight kick on Slime once more, but instead, missed him purposefully by inches. The resulting force of it sent a violent torrent of rushing air at the gooey monster, causing it to go flying across the stage from the force of the air.


A ding sounded and the reticle suddenly locked onto a slowly moving point in Slime. He had to quickly come back together and reform his humanoid shape from being knocked away. “Target acquired, sir.


Elprede grinned. He rushed Slime while he was still reforming completely and put his palm out, Ki building up within it. “Game over.” He said, firing upon the crystal. His mark was dead on, obliterating the crystal that held Slime together. It made a piercing cry as it dissolved and evaporated, leaving only the shattered remnants of its purple crystal behind. Elprede sighed in relief and bent over on his knees, taking a moment to recover before he floated back up to the stands and say next to Niir’lana.



“I hate anything green and slimy now.” He gasped, though gave her a small grin and thumbs up. “Thanks for that technique, by the way.”

Era and Valkyrie watched Elprede's match, each with a different opinion on the matter.


Valkyrie watched with general disinterest. It wasn't that she didn't find Elprede's resourcefulness impressive. It's that she didn't much care for the tournament as a whole and watching others fight was boring to her. She wanted to fight. It was the whole reason they main reason they were here in the first place was to fight and make sure that the planet and its people are safe.


Era watched with great interest. Partly because this slime creature was an enemy which she'd never seen before. She didn't know how to fight it, so watching Elprede take it down showed her exactly what she needed to do in the event she fought something like it in the future. It was quite the performance as well, and she was very proud to see him using the Ki Gradient which she'd taught him to protect himself during the fight. It served him well this time, but if he tried it against something with a power level significantly higher than his own he'd pay dearly for it.


Still, it was a good match> When Elprede came back and thanked her for the technique, Era winked at him with a smile.


The question was who was fighting next?

"Wow, that was a spectacle fight. Elprede had is work cut out for him but he manged to win in the end. What did you think about the fight?" the announcer asked pyro.


"Impressive, he figured out how to defeat the slime monster. They are a very hard to pin down, let alone hit there crystal. But he has done it" Pyro said impressed. 


"Wow, That's a big complement coming from you sir" The announcer said


"Well I give them when they are deserved. But I'm still far more stronger then him. I won't go down like that slime, but he may"


"Great now for the next match. The low class elite, Era V.S. the silent killer, the nameless ninja... He never gave his name..." the announcer said looked down his list of names.


Smoke then filled the center stage and as it cleared the ninja appeared. In bowed and got into a fighting stance.


"Fighters Ready? Began!" the announcer said when both fighters were ready.

Era watched as the smoke filled the ring, and as the ninja appeared her eyebrows went up.


"That's a handy trick." She said.


"Stay focused. That ninja isn't just about theatrics. His power level is almost 18,000. Be careful." Valkyrie warned.


Era took a deep breath and let it out on a sigh as she walked into the ring to face down this rather powerful ninja. She and the ninja bowed to one another, and as the ninja took his stance Era took a different stance than she had against Disco.


This stance was all business. She was not interested in trying to sex him up. She was truly here to fight.


The gong sounded, and the ninja's stance deepened slightly. Era's stance lowered slightly as well in response, and she very carefully focused on the ninja's stance. As the ninja began to inch himself forward, he vanished into thin air. Era's eyes were adept at tracking fast moving targets, but this ninja didn't move fast. It truly vanished. It was as if it had a warp technique that transcended space and time.


Without the use of her eyes, Era relied on her ears. Wherever the ninja had gone, she couldn't see him.


... However...


The moment Era's ears picked up the sound of a foot touching down behind her, she lashed out with a back kick into the ninja's midsection while it was still invisible. It became visible as she kicked it and flinched back a few steps, but quickly vanished again. Her power was at max, 10,455, but she was still not strong enough to do much other than knock him back a bit. He brushed that attack off and vanished gain.


It was fitting that this thing was a ninja. It had some kind of light bending trick which made it invisible to the naked eye. Saiyan eyes were similar to those of humans in that they relied on the infrared spectrum of light to see. Whatever spectrum this creature was hiding in, Era couldn't see him. But she could hear him just fine and the ninja had obviously figured that out as it was taking great pains not to be heard anymore.


Era focused hard on what she could hear, but the ninja made no other noises and continued to hide from her eyes.


Suddenly, Era was kicked in the side of the head and sent flying across the ring. She slammed her open hand into the arena floor to right herself and jumped up into the air. As she did so, she was met with a kick in the back and sent back towards the area. She landed on her feet, creating two small craters in the arena floor as she stopped herself. She looked up, but remembered too late that she couldn't see it and was kicked in the back again and sent flying outside the ring.


Era stopped herself just shy of touching the ground and blasted the ground pushing herself up against a stomp into her lower back. The force of her Ki was a desperate one, and just barely managed to push her up against its attack and prevented her from losing by touching outside the ring. She continued to blast herself up against the ninja's stomp as it tried to push her back down. It was incredibly painful as it was just above the root of her tail, but she pushed back against it all the same until she finally rolled out from under it.


As she rolled and the ninja's invisible form began to fly towards the ground, she threw out one arm and caught it just under the chin causing it to spin backwards in midair against her attack and became visible again. She quickly grabbed hold of its lapel and slammed her forehead into and across its jaw which really gave it a bout a dizziness as she then threw it down towards the arena.


The ninja righted itself and landed softly, disappearing once gain as Era remained up in the air watching carefully before it vanished.


Era's eyes narrowed and a smile appeared on her face as she took her stance.


A few seconds went by and Era suddenly jerked her head to one side and jammed her elbow upwards at the open air where her head used to be. The ninja became visible just long enough to see that she had slammed her elbow into the muscles of its calf on the back of the shin, and it disappeared once more.


Era remained still, and again jerked her hips to the side and grabbed seemingly at nothing. A moment later, the ninja became visible as her fingers wrapped around its ankle and she threw it around herself toward the ground. The ninja stopped itself and turned up to face her as she smiled down at it.


"You can't use the same move on me twice, so you may as well fight me head on now." She called down.


The ninja seemed to understand her and agreed as it stood up straight and brushed itself off.


Era floated down and the two squared off properly. At first, the ninja's higher power level made life difficult for Era to keep pace and more than once she nearly was knocked out of the ring. Thankfully Era's talent as a prodigy showed itself once again as she acclimated herself to the speed and force of its attacks and began taking control of the fight after around three minutes of head on combat.


Eventually Era wore the ninja down and sent him flying out of the ring with a single powerful kick to the stomach which left him unable to recover in time to stop himself from hitting the ground outside the ring. When it was over, the ninja floated back into the ring and bowed to Era. She bowed back, and the two left the ring side by side to a cheering crowd. The ninja disappeared before walking into the contestant waiting are while Era sat down on a bench and groaned as she of felt the soreness of her lower back beginning to catch up to her.

Elprede watched the match between the ninja and Era with great interest the ninja's ability to turn invisible by bending light around it was interesting to say the least. It left him wondering how exactly he was doing it. He also worried for a moment that Era may in fact lose the battle due to the very shaky start she had with him... She was starting to get out of her league due to the power levels of the contestants now. Everybody could only fight somebody but so powerful before they just outright could no longer compete.


He grinned when Era managed to pull off the comeback victory, which quickly turned into a frown when she sat back down with a groan. "You sound like your back could use a massage after that one," he commented. "Or a good stretch now, maybe." He murmured to himself. He was still feeling the effects of taking such a strong hit against the Ki Gradient earlier. She was certainly probably feeling the effects of taking so many direct hits like that.


His smile felt strained now. "Almost knew how you guys felt about getting hit... Bit close of a call."

"Looks like Era barely pulled it out in the end, but in the end she showed us that the she isn't just all looks but a true warrior!' the announcer said impressed.


"I agree. That little ninja was impressive both in power level and skill. I even have to say I'm impressed by his ability to turn invisible, not something you see or well don't see every day." Pyro chuckled.


"Your right on that one sir. Now the next fighters to enter the ring are the saiyan elite Valkyrie and the master martial artist, Yan. As the fighters get on stage what do you think about master Yan sir? He only has power level of 8000 but he manged to defeat his last opponent who was at 20,000?" the announcer asked as Yan walked onto stage.


"Well I have to say I'm impressed, but only a little. The natives of this world have not mastered ki yet he is capable of defeating opponents several times stronger then him. I have to say he's interesting at the very least." Pyro saibld.


Yan was older looking man with a long white beard and a bald head. "It's an great honor to be able to fight a warrior of your caliber. I thank you for coming to help us in our time of need, but I need to make sure you are strong enough to face the demon at the end" Yan said before bowing and got into a fighting stance.


"Fighters ready? Began!" The announcer stated when both fighters were ready.

Valkyrie walked out to the ring and bowed to the elderly man. Since he was a member of the people she was here to protect, she knew that she shouldn't do anything to harm him even though losing was not an option.


She took her stance and the gong sounded, giving her the signal to begin.


I didn't watch your earlier match... Just what kind of fighter are you to beat an opponent with a power level of 20,000? She thought to herself.


The old man was quick to respond, literally.


He appeared in front of her and landed a powerful palm press attack to her stomach which send her skidding backwards. The force of the attack, despite his low power, was astounding. Valkyrie let out a breath as she came to a halt and put her hand where his had been and felt that it was hot.


Thankfully, Valkyrie had seen this method of combat before by none other than Era herself.


So that's your game. Concentrated Ki attacks to a small surface area for enhanced effect. She thought.


This was going to be difficult.


Even if her power was much greater and she knew what to expect from him, it made it no easier trying to win this fight. Knowing what to expect and being able to actually take the advantage against an opponent like this was no easy feat. He could focus his Ki into a single point to either move or strike, making him not only hard to hit, but hard to counter as well. If she had full access to her 42,000 power level, then this would be a different story. There'd be nothing he could do to win. But with only 24,000 available to her, even his 8,000, only 1/3 of her power, was enough to keep him competitive.


Valkyrie would have to be careful here.


The old man nodded.


"You seem to know my strategy. That's good. But can you follow through?" He asked.


Valkyrie took a breath.


The old man appeared before her again and tried the same technique once more. This time Valkyrie was able to move her arm to block his attack, but the heat of it burned her forearm causing a bit of smoke to come from the point where his flesh met hers. But at the same time she was able to return his strike with one of her own which sent him flying back in the same way he had done to her. He was impressed, but not at all surprised that she'd managed to counter him like that. In fact he had expected it.


"Well done my dear. But can you keep it up?" He asked.


Valkyrie and Yan went back and forth like this for around two minutes, and as Era watched she crossed her arms and frowned.


"Come on Val. You know how to deal with this technique by now after all the years we spent training together." She muttered.


Valkyrie's mounting frustration prevented her from seeing clearly what she was doing wrong by engaging him directly in this fashion. Had she remembered Era's teachings from their years of training she'd have remembered that to face an opponent who forces Ki into a single point to enhance their speed and/or power, you had to avoid the point of focus and target literally anything else. It was a simple countermeasure since their Ki pooled into their point of contact leaving the rest of their body vulernable.


However valkyrie couldn't see that. She was so focused on fighting directly, as was her M.O., that she neglected to target anything other than the point of contact he was sending her way.


"My dear, I'm sorry. But this is not enough." He said.


With that statement the old man began to utilize a more advanced version of the technique. He concentrated his Ki into not one location, not two, but five separate locations. The speed and strength he attacked with din't seem to increase by much, but what did happen was that he had greater control over his limbs and even allowed them greater flexibility by flushing them with Ki. While he threw a punch with his left hand, his right hand came up in an uppercut while his left leg also came up underneath his left arm keeping it relatively hidden from Valkyrie's field of view beneath his arm which allowed him to occupy her hands while kicking her in the side.


Three unified attacks in one caught Valkyrie off guard. Most combatants focused only one two attacks at maximum, one to distract and one to strike. But three attacks all in one was new and something she didn't expect. Nobody had attacked her with more than one solid technique at a time before. But the attacks didn't end there. Yan managed to attack her with all four of his limbs during his next attack. He once again occupied her hands with his own and his left leg kicked her in the same place before his right leg contorted and kicked her in the same place yet again with equal force despite the contortion and the unnatural position of his right leg.


Valkyrie's anger was growing with each successfully landed attack, and Era watched with acted breath as she let out a sigh of nervousness.


"Keep your cool Val... You can't harm one of the natives." She said quietly.


Valkyrie seemed to pick up on this as she began to calm down as she got used to Yan's attacks. But it still didn't make her any more happy that he was able to pull these techniques off against her.


As the fight dragged on Valkyrie began to recall and pick up on the memory of what Era taught her about how to deal with this kind of a technique. Val began to parry rather than block directly, and assaulted Yan's chest and abdomen which had an obvious and intended effect. It only took a few such attacks to wear down Yan in his age and due to the difference in raw power output they had with their power levels to force Yan to back down and concede the match for the sake of his health and physical well being.


With the match concluded, Valkyrie walked out of the ring and glared at Era as the latter smiled at her while shaking her head.


"Lick my tail," Val growled as she kept walking through to the contestant waiting area's benches in the back.

"Looked like Valkyrie had a ruff time in the ring, but she made it out in the very end." The announcer said once the battle was over.


"I have to give the old man credit, he was able to fight a sayain and was a challenge. That's not easy for someone with a power level of 8000 to fight a sayain with over 20,000" Pyro said smirking.


"Great words coming from a great man, now for the next fight..."


After the rest of round two...


"What amazing fights, now we are down to eight fighters but after this round there will only be four. The fighters will get another twenty minute break before the next round starts. But first the matches for round three!" The announcer stated. The T.V. shuffled the pictures once again. The matches this time were Val V.S. a crab man, Elprede V.S. a cybernetic alien, and Era V.S. a Namekian. "Enjoy your break and be ready to fight when you return!"


Twenty minute late...


"Welcome back fighters, time for the first fight of round three. The low class elite, Era V.S. the big green bounty hunter, Sabi!" The announcer shouted starting round three.


Sabi, a seven foot tall Namekian, walked onto to the stage. "Stay out of my way, the frost demon will fall at my hands!" Sabi stated getting in a stance to fight.


"Fighters Ready? Began!" the announcer yelled when both fighters were ready.

Era floated gracefully out to the arena and landed near the center where the Namekian stood watching her every move. After his declaration, Era sized him up and checked his power level on her Scouter.


"Your power is only 16,000, so that's not likely to happen." She warned.


"Be silent. Those devices cannot help you understand my power." He barked.


The gong sounded, and the fight began.


Sabi immediately launched himself at Era, but unfortunately for the overzealous Namekian that was a mistake. Having a photographic memory Era had experienced charges like this countless times and the counter was always the same.


Taking her fighting stance with her left leg front and her right leg in back, the obvious maneuver would be to spin back and to the right which she could see Sabi was expecting based on her stance. However Era jerked her right elbow back to fake that exact maneuver, which got Sabi to react and extend his right arm out in hopes of catching her mid-turn, but she ducked and lunged forward and to the right instead using her left hand to smash him in the stomach. With her hips twisted into the technique to deliver that little bit of extra power Sabi's lungs lost a lot of air as he sailed past her and skidded to a halt.


He held his stomach where she struck him, clearly wondering how she hit so hard. As he was confused as to how she could hit him so hard for having a power of only 10,455, she raced forward as quietly as she was able. As he turned her left fist smashed into the side of his jaw knocking him off his feet as she flew past him and used her right leg to grind into the arena and bring her to a stop. Using her momentum as a springboard, she rocketed back across towards him again and as she flew over him she pressed her index finger into a specific point along and just to the right of his spine.


Sabi let out a yell of pain and rolled onto his back to protect himself from further attacks. However she was already gone. She had floated away and touched down nearby standing and watching him as he forced himself to his feet.


Sabi made it to his feet and raced towards her powering up as much as he could and threw a punch to her face. Surprisingly, Era just stood there and took the hit. But it became less of a surprise when the reality sunk in that she had shut down his Ki pathways as his punch barely did a thing. His power level came up on her Scouter as a mere 100, a far cry from what it had once been.


He backed away in shock and horror looking down at his hands and wondering how his power could be so greatly diminished.


"You'll regain your power in about twelve hours. But right now you should give up. I cannot guarantee your survival if you insist on continuing." She warned.


Sabi was fuming.


"How dare you! Are you so afraid of me that you must resort to such cheap tactics?" He demanded.


She shook her head.


"It is out of concern that I do this to you. As a bounty hunter, you are not bound by any kind of rules or regulations to wait for this tournament to stalk and attack the Frost Demon. This tournament in fact is a farce, and the only reason myself and my fellow Saiyans are even playing along with it is because we are under orders to do so. But nobody else here is truly obligated to go through the tournament procedure if they want a shot at the Frost Demon. It's a complete waste of time and energy on your part." She said.


Sabi was a bit confused, and Era sighed.


"You didn't think about this tournament did you? The Frost Demon has no authority here save that which exists within his own mind, which is to say none whatsoever. If he mandates that you must go through the tournament to face him, that mandate is worth less than the dust in my hair. Both he and his tournament can lick my tail all the way from base to tip. You have no orders, obligations, nor need to be here. If you wanted to you could have just come to this planet secretly and attacked the Frost Demon at any time to try and bring him down. But you chose to go through the tournament even though there was no need. Out of concern for your lack of judgement, I have chosen to end this fight without any significant drama or damage as you clearly have much to learn and think about before continuing in this line of work." She said.


Sabi was still furious, but he was beginning to see the truth of her words.


This tournament was in fact a farce. Nothing but a game the Frost Demon created for his own amusement. There was no need to partake in it. No obligation to do so either. If he had wanted, he could have snuck into this world and waited until the Frost Demon's back was turned and attacked him that way to bring him down. But no. Sabi had foolishly thought he could use the tournament to do this "the right way," which had gotten him nowhere against an opponent far inferior to the Frost Demon himself. What a fool he'd been.


Sabi took Era's advice and conceded the match, leaving to the contestant waiting area as she walked behind him to a rather astonished crowd.


Era had openly denied and defiled the very purpose of the Frost Demon's tournament for all to hear. Not only that, she insulted the Frost Demon directly by saying he could lick her tail from base to tip, the nastiest insult a Saiyan could give to another being. It was a miracle that Era was not already dead after those comments, and the audience waited with bated breath to see how the Frost Demon would react to Era's words.

"Those are some strong words but... sir are you okay..." the announcer asked  turning to Pyro who was now getting mad. His power level went from 20,000 to instantly  65,000. "umm... sir calm down..." the announcer said nervously.


"Well sense you think this tournament is a farce and I have no authority, how about you me fight right now, you little dirty monkey. Or are your orders to go through the tournament and die then? Or are you to chicken enough to attack me other wise?" Pyro said mocking Era. "So in the end I think I do have the authority and that you and the rest of peanut gallery of monkeys don't have guts to really fight me." Pyro added smirking.


(And if the sayains don't attack Pyro after mocking them)


"Sir please calm down, we still have a few others matches left before it's your turn to fight... Next to fight is the fast as light fox, Elprede V.S. the cyber pirate, Steel!" the announcer yelled.


"Well it looks like the sayain monkey decide to make Pyro mad, well who cares it'll be fun to watch him kill one them. But for now I get to skin a fox" Steel said entering the ring checking his robotic arm before getting into a fighting stance.


"Fighters ready? Began!" The announcer yelled once both fighters were ready.

Elprede perked his ears up at Era, watching her battle intently, his eyes watching every movement each other made. He was surprised that a Namekian had come to the tournament, considering the ideals of their people. He was far less shocked by the way Era had handled him; Saiyans and the Namekians were known to be good friends, that much was obvious. He was sure that she simply did not want to hurt him. His eyes widened when he heard her, though, and he hopped down instantly to land next to her.


"Era, this isn't the time or place," he muttered, glancing up at Pyro. He eyed the Frost Demon carefully. "We'll get him in the final round. It won't be much use if we go against everything right here, right now."


JJ... be prepared for full combat if things go south. Elprede warned lightly.


Jasmine acknowledged him quietly. He could feel her tension like he could his own. Fighting a pissed off Frost Demon was not something he really wanted to do.

Era looked back at Pyro, and against Elprede's warning she smiled at Pyro.
 


"Say whatever you like Frost Demon, because you and I both know why you're taking that tone with me." She said in an equally snarky and mocking tone as the one Pyro had given her.


She turned to face him, having previously had her back to him as she had begun to walk to the contestant waiting area before.


"The reason you are taking that tone is because you know you have a higher power level than I do. Despite that fact your outburst proves that you consider me a threat, otherwise you'd have just laughed off my remarks. If our powers were equal we both know I'd wipe the floor with you." She mocked, leaning on one hip.


"You are just lucky you were born a Frost Demon. Had you been born to any other race, you'd just be another shmuck whom I would wipe off my boot."


She unraveled her tail from around her waist and raised it up, gently and daintily flicking the tip in his direction. It was a Saiyan gesture which basically mean "you are nothing to me."


"Use whatever mocking tone and words you like Frost Demon, but the damage is already done. It doesn't matter what you do or say to me now. Just look around..." She said, gesturing with her hand to the entire audience and the rest of the contestants.


All of them were looking at him with not fear, but rather with anger and obvious hope. Era's remarks and her talking back to him in such a manner had given them courage despite the knowledge that his power level was so high. Pyro's control over the natives and the very foundation of the tournament were now in jeopardy, and if he did nothing then the tournament's purpose would be forever marred. But if he did do something then he'd only prove Era's words true which would then diminish his reputation faster than he could salvage the situation.


It was a lose-lose situation for him now.


The choice was up to Pyro, but it would be taken out of his hands before long...


Something was approaching the planet, but the incoming force's power levels were perfectly masked with Ki Disruption plating on their vessels to prevent the sensation of the Ki of those on board from escaping the vessel itself. Not only that, but they also were shielding their ship from radar with the next generation stealth technology. Even Pyro's best surveillance and communication's staff would not know that these vessels were approaching.


A terror far beyond Pyro himself was on board the approaching fleet of vessels, and it was going to spell the beginning of a new age of destruction and fear.
