I choose you.

Flustered, Riel blushed, "You don't have to put a lot of effort, you know?" she mumbled, averting her eyes once again. It was on a rare occasion that people she knew would try to look their best around Riel, only having to be told that a few times. However, once Lance suggested what she should wear, her face boiled with embarrassment as she was quick to react.

"Non!" she cried out in her native tongue. "I-I–that's too embarrassing!" Riel cried out, hiding her face.

Lance couldn't help but to laugh. He hadn't been serious, obviously. It would take quite some time before he could actually give a proper dirty comment about anyone, especially Riel, he liked her too much. He placed his wine glass down and decided it was for the best to change the topic from clothes and other things that possibly could make his female company turn rosy red. "Would you like some desert?" He asked, innocently as he peered towards a small one sided menu put down between the salt and pepper pots.

The Dragon Master wasn't much for sweets. He enjoyed the occasional sugar rush but it wasn't very often. One bottle of coke would last him for months. That didn't meant that he couldn't spoil his lady friend with some cake though.

After fidgeting in her seat uncomfortably with a large blush on her face, she looked up to Lance. Smiling shyly, the girl gave a small nod, looking over at the menu Lance looked at. Oddly enough, as sweet as she is, she doesn't like sweets that much. Sure, she'll have one here and there, and she hasn't nothing against sweets. Riel just doesn't enjoy sweets than many other people.

"Yeah. Cheesecake?" she requested, glancing over to Lance.

He shrugged. "Never actually had it." He looked up at her with a sly smirk. "I normally don't do sweet." He peered back at the menu, perhaps a coffee would be enough for him. Was he old? Lance felt pretty old. Ordering coffee after a meal was something his father did and that man was old. He leaned back in his seat and continued to smile at her. "Pick whatever you like dear, again; my treat."

Spoiling Riel seemed to be his way of having a good time. At least right now. He hadn't had a holiday in years and wasn't certain how to actually do anything that had nothing to do with work.

"You never had cheesecake before?" Riel gasped. "Lance, we should share a cheesecake together! Please?" the girl asked with a large smile. The girl crossed her ankles under the seat and grinned, leaning back. Riel couldn't remember the last time she had cheesecake, but what she remembered is that it was pretty good. It has been quite some years since she had last cheesecake, probably when she was around sixteen...She remembers because one of her friends took her out to go eat, and they ended up having cheesecake when they were done.

The girl grinned at the memory, "This is the second time this had happened to me. Being dragged out to eat and then having cheesecake for dessert," she giggled.

"Share one?" He wasn't certain he wanted to. It was a cute enough gesture and he wouldn't mind having such a moment with Riel. He just didn't like sweets all that much. He smiled though as he leaned back, waiting for the waitress to come over to take their plates. "One cheesecake please, so share." He smiled up at the lady who nodded and walked off to get them what they wanted. Lance looked back down at Riel, tilting his head. "I hope you don't feel as if I'm dragging you around. That's not at all what I mean by all of this..."

Riel shook her head, "Mnn, no I know you don't mean to drag me around. I'm glad to walk around Luminose, I haven't stepped foot in Lumi for awhile," she said, resting her hand in her lap while fiddling her fingers. "It makes it even more fun when I'm with you," she added, flashing a small smile towards Lance. She brushed a hand through her wavy hair, thinking for a moment.

And in that moment, she realized this is what you consider a date. At the realization, she felt the tips of her ears go red, but a small grin broke onto her face. It's been quite awhile since she went on a date with the opposite gender. It kinda made her all giggly.

Lance was sitting, leaned back in his seat, watching the young girl in front of him rather intensely. Wondering what she was thinking about. She suddenly looked a lot more.. happy and gleeful than she had been earlier. He tiled his head, blew strings of red hair out of his face and almost jumped in his seat when the waitress came back and placed a piece of cake in-between the both of them with two spoons.

When she asked if they needed anything he simple waved a had dismissively and continued to peer at Riel. "Are you alright? You look a bit flustered."

Blue orbs lit up at the sight of cheesecake, having to take a large liking to the small dessert. She thanked the waitress, taking the spoon with her nimble hands and scooping up a slice. However, once Lance mentioned about being flustered the girl flashed him a smile. "Do I?" she asked, setting the spoon down and using one hand to touch her cheek. She gave a giggly grin, "I guess I just realized that you actually like me," she smiled, taking a bit of the cheesecake.

Riel glanced up at Lance, smiling. "I guess spending a lot of time with the opposite sex makes you develope feelings you haven't felt before," she hummed, glancing around the restaurant as she rested her elbow on the table with her chin resting in her palm. "It makes me giggly, seeing I haven't felt this way for a long time..."

Lance grinned. "I don't think that's quite it either. Some develop hate after spending forced time together. I simply enjoy your company, no matter how bratty I thought you were." He childishly stuck out his tongue towards her before leaning back against his seat, taking a small piece of cheesecake with his fork. He wasn't certain that he would enjoy it, it looked wobbly and strange. Like jelly but... softer and made with a lot more cream. He put it between his lips and as first did nothing and then started to frown. It was almost impossible to swallow. It became liquid in his mouth after a short moment overtime, swallowing heard he peered down at the cake. The taste was fine, he supposed.

"I never really had a thing for sweets." He laughed, nervously.

Riel rolled her eyes, "Sure, I hate your company at first but you grew on me. And I'm not bratty!" she whined, sticking her tongue out back at him. She laughed at the expression Lance made when he took his first bite, "You already said that..." Riel commented with another roll of her eyes as she sliced another piece of the cheesecake.

"I don't like sweets that much either, but cheesecake is really good so I won't mind it from time to time," she grinned.

He held up two fingers, showing the gap between them. "Just a little." He smirked. "Besides, I start to find your attitude endearing. You're very energetic and positive. I like that." It was a great difference from the Elite Four, they were all personality tropes in one way or another. He couldn't say he met that many people, of course he met a lot but they simply walked in, lost and walked out. There wasn't much conversation sharing or personality traits to be discovered. Just one faceless person after the other. He had also realized that most women that he encountered were either depressive or aggressive. Not something he found very attractive.

No, Riel was fine. She was intelligent, funny and interesting. Never mind the fact that she was also quite the adorable girl. Quite a catch, even.

"I suppose it's better than most cakes, not as sweet. But does it have to melt like cream in my mouth? It's a rather... strange feeling."

Riel grinned at the compliment, "Thanks! I try my best," she giggled. It's true, she has been raised around a mother who taught her to always look on the bright and positive side. She had always told her daughter that "there was always a light, you're just gonna have to look for it" and Riel stood strong with that line in mind. There are a few times here and there she was sad or depressed, but it didn't last long.

The girl gave a small giggle at how he explained it as she took one more piece and plopped it in her mouth. She shrugged, "I guess it's kinda strange. I still like it though."

Lance continued to smile at her and nodded carefully. "Well I eh--" The waitress walked up to him and asked if they wanted anything else. He shook his head, asked for the bill and paid without even looking how much it cost - simply giving the lady his card and punched in his number. "Shall we get going to the beach?" He smiled at Riel as he got out of his seat.

The girl nodded eagerly, following him behind. "Let's stop at my house real quick. Drop off these bags," she gestured to the shopping bags in her arm, "And lemme grab my swimsuit," she grinned. Riel grabbed Lance's hand, and walked out of the restaurant with a large grin, jumping in excitement. "I haven't been in the beach in forever! I'm so excited!"

"I'm glad you're excited." He mumbled, slightly surprised that she were so eager. As Riel pulled him along he snatched the bags out of her hands. A lady wasn't suppose to carry those! It would have been awfully ungentlemanly of him. He hurried across the street and towards her home, waiting patiently as she unlocked the door and the both of them stepped inside, just to be greeted by the large draconic pokemon who instantly burst out of its pokeball just to squeak over the strange new outfit its trainer was wearing.

Riel was taken by surprise when Dragonite had popped out of his pokeball. She had a hadn to her chest and she gave a small laugh, "Oh, it's you Dragonite. You scared me," she laughed gently. Riel reached over and rubbed Dragonite's snout affectionately, "You don't like being stuffed in your pokeball, do you?" she giggled, walking around the pokemon.

She turned to Lance, "Give me a moment to get changed and grab some towels," Riel smiled before disappearing into her room.

Towels. It took Lance a good while before everything sank in. They were actually going to the beach and it seemed like they were going to join in on the usual ocean activities - he assumed sitting on the sand fully dressed with the beautiful view and a attempt to light conversation wasn't going to be the only thing involved. Swallowing heavily he scratched the back of his head. He had swimwear with him - as well as diving suits and other attire that would be necessary for finding Pokémon on the bottom of the sea - but it had been a while since he had to use either.

It took the Dragon Master even longer to realize that Dragonite was still staring rather intensely at him, saddened that its master didn't pay him any attention. Lance's gaze was stuck on a particular spot on the wall and it wasn't until the big dragon stepped on his foot and made him flinch that he noticed the sad expression on the dragons face.

"Oh, hi there buddy. Sorry about that, I was thinking." He patted the dragon on the head, gently and carefully. Trying his hardest not to seem as if he had indeed forgotten about his best friend. He was just occupied with unwanted thoughts that caused him to seem far less polite than he actually was. "So eh--" He took a deep breath, filling his lunges with fresh indoor air and peered towards the door which his company had recently walked through. "Where you planning on taking us to this beach by the ways of roller-skates? I don't think riding Dragonite would be such a good idea if I'm to stay hidden from the eye of the public."

The eye of the public. Poor Riel was going to end up in mighty problems due to him. He sighed slightly and placed a hand on his hip, not realizing how feminine it made him look. He missed his usual attire. Even if it made him seem like a wanna-be magician at least it made him look broad shouldered and manly. Perhaps Riel's worry about him dating Steven wasn't too farfetched after all. He shrugged his shoulder and did his very best to shake himself back into his usual train of thought but without success.

He had to get these thoughts out of his head. "You do realize that if you are seen as my date you'll be on the first page of every gossip magazine on this side of the planet, right?" He just wanted her to realize what it entailed to be shown as anything close to 'The Dragon Master's Girlfriend.' even if she wasn't. Yet.
