"Thanks!" She said biting into it while looking around the house

He bit into a piece of his own.

 

[Tapadero]

"This is good!" She exclaimed

 

[SorrelColonel]

"Thanks! I got it from pizza palace."

 

[Tapadero]

"Nice!" She said with a smile "It's so great to be outa school!" as she said that she noticed a bruise on the side of his neck

He finished his pizza and put his plate away. He noticed her looking and gave her a half wary glance and swallowed. "Can I show you something?"

 

[Tapadero]

TJ nodded "Yeah" That's not from a skateboard She thought

 

[SorrelColonel]

He walked a bit closer, gazing somberly at her. He turned and pulled his shirt off, revealing numerous long scars over his back, some of them fresh. Bruises also wrapped around his rib cage. He breathed out slowly.

 

[Tapadero]

TJs hand flew to her mouth stifling a gasp. "Oh my goodness Sam" she said softly, she couldn't tear her eyes away as she looked him over, tears welling in her eyes "What...who"

 

[SorrelColonel]

He still didn't turn around. "My... Stepdad." He gulped.

 

[Tapadero]

TJ stepped forward lightly and touched a old scar "For how long" she asked quietly

 

[SorrelColonel]

His breath hitches slightly when she touched it. "About two months."

 

[Tapadero]

"We have to tell someone" She said reeling back suddenly feeling awful for touching

 

[SorrelColonel]

"No!" He shook his head, turning to face her. "We can't."

 

[Tapadero]

"Yes we have to!" Tj said stepping away from him to get her bag with her phone in it


(What if the step dad showed up?)

 

[SorrelColonel]

(Hmmm, maybe! Good idea!) He stepped forward, blocking her from her bag. "Please. No."

 

[Tapadero]

"Sam if we don't call, then nothing will change" She said worriedly, trying to grab at her bag

 

[SorrelColonel]

"Yes, it will. As soon as they get their divorce finalized." He grabbed her shoulders to keep her still. "Please." His brown eyes gazed in hers pleadingly.

 

[Tapadero]

"But what if he comes back after their divorced?" She asked

 

[SorrelColonel]

"He won't." He assured her.

 

[Tapadero]

"Alright but I need to fix these, do you have a first aid?" She asked

 

[SorrelColonel]

"No." He shook his head. "We just have peroxide."

 

[Tapadero]

"Ok then your either coming to my house or going to the hospital, my vote is the hospital" TJ annoucned

 

[SorrelColonel]

"Neither. I can't. That'll fuel the fire." He shook his head.

 

[Tapadero]

"No your coming to one of them, there's not an option" She said walking to Shasta
