Nicholas looks around "hey bird boy, still with me?" He looks at the empty cup and sighs "I miss my coffee. Anyway, you seem really eager to help me. Why? What's in it for you?"

Jake tapped on the table, "In it for me... ah yes, I do get something out of this. The satisfaction of helping, as well as feeling a little more safe inside. Look Nicholas, I think that you are a pretty powerful dude. If you were on our side, then not only would you be free, be able to do what you want to do, do the good that you deserve to do, but you would be making the rest of us feel safer." He paused, "You would make me feel safer. It's also sort of a symbol of hope, to show that yes, you guys are actually human at the core."

Nicholas chuckles "a symbol of hope? You guys are supes. You're powerful as is. In the true picture of things I'm pretty weak compared to some of the supes in my time. I can hold my own against an S-class and with the right armour an SS-class. But SSS-class supes? It'd be like a gazelle taking on a pride of lions. You understand?" He puts a cigarette between his lips and holds it there with his teeth, even with years of coffee drinking and smoking they were still white. He refrains from lighting it

Jake laughed back at the image, "Yeah, but imagine three of you. Not even a SSS-class could hold that back. And there are many talented people in that organization. Even just one repenting their beliefs makes us feel safer." He sipped his cup of water, "Never liked smoking. Tried it, never got into it."

"Helps me calm down. Not a nice habit though. Anyway three of me? You mean matching in skill or are you just going to clone me?" He laughs and then becomes serious "I've done some bad things to you supes. How can I trust you? How do I know I'm not walking into a death trap?"

"Skill," Jake said, "And to be honest, you don't!" He smirked, "But, I am one that accepts reform and I hope that others will too. And I will try and protect you against those who don't have such ideals." He sipped the water again, "It works out."

"So I'm basically walking into the unknown? I don't really like doing something until I'm sure I'm not gonna take a knife to the back. But I'll trust you bird boy, if anyone tries to kill me I'll make sure to take you with me" Nicholas smiles at Jake and then stands up, he grabs the weapon case and looks around

"Oh, I know you alright. How can I forget the person I had to make sure didn't fall out of a skyscraper?"


Max takes off his hat, revealing his brown hair, and taking off his sunglasses, which in turn showed his eyes.

Jake clapped once, "Great," he said, "what's in the case? Actually, don't say that here. We should get moving." He walked out of the coffee shop and started heading off towards the center of the city.

Nicholas follows Jake, his lights the cigarette and looks around. Anyone could be a supe and he wouldn't know until they used their powers "so, what are your powers?"

"Ah, you know. Wings. Also, I'm pretty damn fast and agile. Oh, and I have the power of influence." He noticed Nicholas's tension, "Relax, nobody's going to try anything. Too densely populated." Jake stopped at a crosswalk, "Though I have yet to discover my full potential. I don't really try, as you saw at the facility. I'm more of a words guy."

Nicholas nods "I've seen supes try things in public before trust me, when they get desperate or scared that's when they do stupid things" he sighs "your little attack didn't too well, while you did free a high value target, a lot of other supes either died or got captured"

Jake briefly cringed before seeing the light turn, "Oh well," he said, walking across the street, "It was a good effort. Learned some stuff. Like not do ever try that again." He turned into an alley and started walking down it, stopping at a brick wall. He pulled out a loose brick and took off the key attached to it, before walking back out of the alley. "Got the key for the place we'll be staying at," he said, proceeding to walk again.

Nicholas sighs "we lost some good men too. I've learnt to never underestimate you supes" he watches as Jake gets the key "this is a key to a safehouse? You guys have safehouses? I'm not surprised now that I think about it" he laughs

Jake chuckled at the thought of it, "No, no, not our safe house," he said, "It belongs to someone else. But I'm just borrowing it." He stopped for a second, "Just make sure that nobody watches you go in."

"Why? Is it a secret?" He laughs "this feels like a trap to me but I can't let a little paranoia stop me" he tightens his grip on the weapon case

Jake turned another corner, "It's a retired house, used to belong to one of the gangs in this city. If somebody else was found using it, especially me, well... it would be bad. But it's the best place I have."

"I see, the hotels aren't trashy enough" Nicholas laughs to himself and then sighs "so Max was working with you guys the entire time? Why did he only free one person?"

Jake shook his head, "Max was... a case, to say the least. He was against us, fought us, but two of us beat him, not me however. I offered for the group to take him and not leave him to the mercy of Elya, but Alex chose to take her daughter instead. I hated that decision, one made because of love. And I think that's how Max made his decision as well."

Nicholas nods "so Max just decided to help you guys for no reason? That's a little weird" he adjusts his tie and continues following Jake

Jake shrugged, "I think he fell in love," he said, walking towards a residential neighborhood, "That generally compels people to do stupid stuff. We're almost there, by the way."

Nicholas nods "love is a complicated emotion to say the least. Once it has you in its grasp all rationality goes out the window." He follows Jake and begins singing to himself
