Fantasy Hunter's Moon: The Sin & Sentence [IC] [CLOSED]

Again, Venextos was silent to this possibility as he thought about it so more. "...even I don't have the answers to such a question."

Hudson smirked beneath his helmet, drawing his sword yet not taking up a combative stance. "Gladly. Best of luck - enjoy the manipulation and enslavement." he said coldly, just to look to Henderson as he was criticized for following Velin.

"Velin doesn't have to care about me. I am but a tool to carry out her will. I wouldn't be surprised if after all this I still ended up back here in the end. I don't care, and I lost the right to care a long time ago. Velin punishes the wicked while demons reward and perpetuate their acts. The choice of who to follow is obvious."

With that, he turned on his heel and began to shuffle off to the complete opposite direction of the group's destination.

Vincent watched Hudson turn about, then noticed Riberta moving. "...I'm going with him." she said, climbing down off the truck and walking after the demon hunter. As she strolled a few steps away from the truck, she said aloud "Someone has to keep the fucking baby alive, and I already said I was going to." Vincent's hand met his face, rubbing his eyes. The mission was falling apart. All because of one man.

So the moment of truth. Hudson was walking off and Senya wondered if this was where the team finally crumbles into pieces. Whether several of their team would follow him remained to be seen. All the Red Warden knew was that this could be the point of no return.

Loque’s a step above Venextos. He has no answers, yet she has no words. The wide expanse in front of her seems to have caught her attention as she sits still, staring at it blankly.

"...Vincent." Jakob gently approached the leader, giving him an apologetic look. "I am sorry... but I am heading with Hudson. You need to understand that as sincere as Tariun might be, I came here for one thing...to save Valeria and help our own plane. This resistance movement she is trying to do... I feel it is doomed." Jakob looked at Hudson and Riberta as they walked away. "...I know you'll do well out there. Take care and hopefully we will all make it out alive." Without saying anything else, Jakob left and parted ways with the group as he reached both Hudson and Riberta. "...You guys heading straight to Sazak? Me as well... but I am going to save Valeria, is that okay?"

Wordlessly Venextos returned to where the group were and found it falling apart right before his eyes. This was the end of the group it seemed. He then turned his head to Jakob: "So you will abandon Ethraeil then, would you?"

Hudson was rather surprised to hear someone addressing him as he walked off to gods-know-where, not expecting to garner any following whatsoever. "If she's in the same place, I don't see any problem with it." he replied to Jakob, turning his head again to keep on walking. "My fight's with him. If we're all doomed I may as well make that fuck pay for what he's done."

Jakob stopped in his tracks as Venextos talked to him. He slowly turned around and gave the man another apologetic look. "...I wish things were different, Venny. You might not agree with me now but... as much as I want to trust Tariun, her plan feels flawed... I care a lot for Ethy and I hope that... deep down I am wrong and you are right. If that's the case... please save him, and tell him I'm sorry." With that, he turned back around and continued onwards. He had made his choice, he felt terribly about it but this is something he has to do. Might Thiasis forgive him if he was wrong. "...Might as well get a few shots on Sazak while we are at it then."

"Then I'm sorry to say that there's an army of wrath demons between you and Sazak's lands, and another army between you and Sazak afterwards." Venextos spoke shaking his head as he followed Jakob. He cursed himself under his breath before finally coming to the conclusion that perhaps they had a chance...

"If you're insistent on going through the land of Wrath once more... then you will need an army of your own to even stand a chance."

Finally, Vincent turned about to face the front of the truck. "Everyone who's coming with me, get in the truck. Everyone who's going with the idiot, start walking." he stated, almost angrily. He for one understood the gravity of what was going on here, and intended to see it through to the end.

As Jakob and the others continued, Venextos' words caught his attention one last time. He looked at the sorcerer as the others continued. "...What are you suggesting then?"

"Always knew you were a dumb barbarian." Henderson said to Ribberta "Have fun with them." he followed with a slight smile. With that he turned around to walk back to the truck. "Bloody idiots."

Inari lounged around as the others had their arguments, stretched out on the edge of the truck bed. These people really were a boring and broken lot. There was no doubt Hudson was the worst of it. Really, it was a wonder why no one shot him in the back of the head yet. She'd seen more than a few go out with a blade in the neck for causing too many problems and being difficult to work with. They made decent examples to the troops when discipline was a needed reminder. She may have even considered doing it herself if Riberta wasn't protecting him. The group was also full of softies so even if she tried... few would take her side on things. I must be the only one willing to do the work here, she lamented to herself.

Then the group started to split and she laughed again to herself as the weak ones, plus Riberta, started to leave. Cannon fodder was always needed, but cannon fodder that didn't run their mouths so much and bring everyone done. The road ahead was already going to be a tough one, but they weren't losing much with the loss of these fellows. Riberta's morals were too misplaced and she was the only real loss. Maybe they could pick up some others along the way to help.

"Bye bye," Inari called out to those walking away as she sat on the edge of the truck. She even offered a sweet little wave. "Have fun being dead, pig-heads. If you think journey hard before, you think easy now with less people? Hah!"

Jakob looked at Venextos for a while as Vincent called for the rest to join him in the truck. The detective was quiet but eventually nodded. He realized that if they actually wanted to get past the few waves of demons, they must have more than just a mace, a claymore, and a shotgun. "...Take care Venny." He tipped his hat at the sorcerer and gave him a small smile. He was going to find Ethraeil.

Venextos nodded and returned to Loque to speak: "This venture has shattered. I believe you must decide where to go now."

Slowly, Loque rises, and just as slowly does she walk all the way to Vincent. Somethings different, though. The way she shambles back again to the truck seems... off.

Senya sighed, the party split forced her to make a tough decision. Without Riberta or Jakob, the main group was weaker in general. Hudson was still a member of their group but just wasn't a team player. It's honorable to join up with him, but then what? What would they do out there in Azgon's territory? They still needed to dismantle the Abyss's war efforts here even if they had to help out Tariun's insurrection. Regardless, one step at a time no matter what, Senya thought. It was far too early to kill Sazak along with the others. Hudson, he was just too emotional. The others like the Grand Magus and Takato are likely to follow Vincent.

Senya shook her head, walked in towards Vincent's direction.

Venextos also walked back to the truck, but stood at the ground next to the driver's seat where Vincent was. "Monsieur Beaumont, a word if I may?" he spoke with a melancholic tone.

Vincent cut Venextos a look. "What?" he asked, still bearing the slightly angry tone from before.

Inari glanced to the shambling form of Loque returning towards the truck, and she waved at the demon. This one always needed cheering up. "You want more rice? Sip of bourbon drink?" She asked, patting her satchel. "Maybe you want weapon, a good weapon? You want borrow small sword? I show you how to use it well." Inari then indicated her short sword, the wakizashi.

"...I have failed in every utter capacity. Failed this group, and our venture as a whole." the wizard spoke, ashamed of himself as he came to a self-realization. "I meddled with fate, and this is the consequence of my meddling."

Venextos then shook his head. "I cannot curse this mission anymore with my own presence. The only honorable thing for me to do is to leave the Abyss as a whole."

Vincent looked to Venextos, his eyes widening. "What? You can't just leave us here. You're one of the few people down here that can actually heal and mend us!" he said, turning to face the mage. "You're just going to abandon all of us?"
