------
As two of the guards were eliminated, one shot by both Valeria and Theodore and the other hit and promptly beheaded by Wesley, the final guard took Ethraeil's ball of dark magic in stride. He counter-attacked, firing off another carbine shot which zipped through Ethraeil's ribs and hit his spinal column. Meanwhile, things were heating up between the inquiry group and the team of Cassandra and Archer. As the group fought, Aleister attempted to heal both Jakob and Camille, but the attempt failed. Perhaps he needed to get closer?

As Archer suffered a few final burns before the flames fizzled out, he was struck once again by Rosanna who slashed across his side. Galina's shots hit their mark as well, ripping through Archer's torso while Jakob used a broken piece of hardwood from the dynamite explosion to hit and stab Archer with. Finally, as Archer stumbled away with the piece of wood jutting from his stomach, he finally reached his limit. "I've had about enough of you, you fucking mutt." spat Archer, glaring at Jakob as he began to shift. His bone structure rearranged and morphed, shifting to a more werewolf like appearance. The differences was that he was taking a more 'aggressive' appearance than most average werewolves. Significantly more aggressive than the form Wallace had taken, even after drinking the Romanov blood. He had two long fangs that grew from his mouth, much like a vampire's fangs. He truly was a hybrid. Once his transformation was complete, his clothes shredded and his hulking furry form towering over Jakob, he quickly shoved a massive clawed hand into Jakob's chest before hurling him across the room. Jakob slammed into the wall of the estate, before landing hard on a table which collapsed under his weight.

Cassandra, meanwhile, continued to deal with both Camille and Mariette, whom launched their attacks on the pureblood. Camille moved in with her feint attack, which Cassandra slapped away as expected, before shoving her dagger into Cassandra's chest. The pureblood grunted angrily, before Mariette shoved Cassandra's own sword into her back. The sword ripped outwards out of her stomach, forcing a groan from the pureblood. She directed her fury towards Camille, ripping the dagger from her chest and shoving it into Camille's lower back in one swift motion. "Keep your fucking blade." she spat, as she gave the blade a rough twist before releasing it and shoving the hunter away. She then turned her attention to Mariette behind her. "Once I rip her heart out, I'll make you eat it." she said with a grin, before looking back to Camille.

Rosanna watched as Archer threw Jakob across the room in his new, mutant form. This needed to be ended quickly. She drew her revolver back out, taking several shots at Archer's head in an attempt to redirect his attention. Valeria, meanwhile, turned her attention to the final soldier whom she promptly shot at.

Camille fell to her knees yet again, gritting her teeth as she was quick to pry her quill out from her back and grasp it firmly. This time she took a few seconds to pant and regain her constitution, glaring up at Cassandra through the brim of her hood as the pureblood continued to over-confidently taunt and chide them all the more. It was truly sickening how stereotypical of a vampire she was, blinded by hubris and empty pursuits of power. The huntress made herself appear severely wounded for a few moments, waiting for Cassandra to encroach just a bit closer before she swiftly swept her leg out under her feet. If they could pin her down for any amount of time they could stab her onto the floor and perhaps keep her there. Regardless of if the attack was successful or not, her follow-through resulted in her quickly getting back up to a fighting stance after the sweep was concluded.

Ethraeil shrugged off yet another shot from the soldier, but as their numbers dwindled to the last vampire standing Ethraeil turned his attention to the two big elephants in the room. Archer was dealing a beating onto Jakob and Cassandra was doing the same to both Mariette and Camille. The question was, who would he target from the two? Both needed to be stopped, and both were immediate threats. Ethraeil made the split-second decision to lob a dark bolt at Archer, hopefully to take attention off of Jakob as well as to deliver a powerful blow against the hybrid.

Jakob struggled to get back up, coughing up blood as he stood. He then made an unnatural laugh. "H-Heh...t-this mutt is kicking your ass!" On his feet, now with Archer no longer on fire, he looked at the hybrid while laughing. "E-Even if I don't kill you, my friends here will. And then..." His toothy smile grew. "I'LL TEAR YOUR HEAD OFF!" He charged the vampiric lycan again, gunning for his neck once more.

Archer was nearly done for. Galina could feel it. Tears began to stream down her cheeks as she looked at the massive werewolf-hybrid.

Then a voice spoke to her. "Fiiiniiisssh hiiim..."

Galina felt something inside her. Something deep. Something strong. She closed her eyes and for a brief moment her figure faded into something a great many people feared. A banshee.

She opened her eyes suddenly. They were now completely black. Slowly she let go of her rifle and raised an accusing finger at Archer. At the same time she opened her mouth to speak...

"HALVÍR URÂNÂS VADŪM KARZAÍK ARCHER!"

A deafening scream was unleashed at the werewolf and with it a ghastly figure shot out from Galina towards Archer.

It was the Queen of Whispers, the Mistress of all Banshees and Death.

Theodore did his best to ignore the screeching of the banshee. In hindsight maybe he should have seen it coming. Gallina had a peculiar interest towards the inhabitants of the spirit realm during their talks. It didn't matter now. She was fighting their enemies, questions and inquiries would come later.

Cassandra was getting too comfortable in her skin. Perhaps he could do something about that. If there was ever a time to test the effects of those experimental bullets, now would be it. 'We never came to the conclusions if acid was effective against purebloods. Mademoiselle Cassandra is a fine candidate.'

Archer's transformation and the reveal of the banshee were nearly enough to give him pause, but Aleister darted through the room to narrow the gap somewhat between him, Camille, and Jakob. They were in rough shape and they needed help - now. He ducked behind a pillar and recast his healing spell.

Mariette took stock of the situation and tried to come up with a new plan of attack; at the current rate, the inquisitors might defeat all the other foes, but Cassandra would outlast them with her incredible healing ability. Just then, Galina's increasingly strange aura crossed a new threshold, and brought her to a standstill. Is this what she's been becoming all along? she found herself thinking. She shook herself out of her state of awe and focused on the implications of the banshee's emergence. Someone is about to die..? No one but me, please...

She took up a stance to launch herself. If Cassandra tried to attack Camille again, Mariette would take the blow instead. If the pureblood turned her fury on Mariette, however, she would be happy to impale Cassandra with her own rapier yet again.

------

The final soldier of the group that had been guarding Archer was dispatched quickly, as Valeria unloaded her revolver on the man long enough for Wesley to close the gap. As the vampire turned about, Wesley swung the axe he had been carrying the whole battle. Off came the vampire's head, in a spray of blood that soaked Wesley's weapon as well as most of his upper body. Valeria moved over, patting Wesley on the shoulder. "Excellent work. Lets focus on the larger threats now." she said, before looking over just in time to see Galina unleash her inner banshee on Archer. Her eyes widened. She had never seen a banshee in action herself, so this was all fairly new to her. Meanwhile, Aleister drew closer and attempted to heal Camille and Jakob once more. Camille seemed to visibly improve, as her knee healed and her stance straightened. Good. The problem was Jakob didn't seem to be affected at all. Really not good.

Archer was shoved backwards by the force of the scream, before being hit by what appeared to be some form of spectre. He swatted at the air for a few moments, his clawed hands passing through the spectre several times before he looked over in time for Jakob's claws to carve a gash across his chest. Archer roared in pain, before latching onto Jakob and lifting him into the air. "I'M SICK OF YOU." he shouted aloud, before spinning Jakob around and driving his claws into Jakob's spine. Jakob let out a whimper, before eventually falling to the floor. Seemingly lifeless.

Enraged by the sight of her friend being apparently killed before her, Rosanna jumped onto Archer's back and drove her sword down into his neck. Archer let out a yelp, before grabbing and tossing Rosanna off and onto the floor. "Gods damned dullahan!" he spat with a growl. He then glanced up to see Ethraeil's ball of dark magic hurdling his way, which he easily avoided by stepping out of the way.

Meanwhile, Cassandra took a step towards Camille, intending to end the fight between her and the master duelist. Right into Camille's trap. She swung low, sweeping her leg and knocking Cassandra off her feet and onto the hardwood. A moment later, she popped up and shoved her rapier blade through Cassandra's chest as hard as she could in an attempt to pin her there. The problem was that Cassandra was far stronger than Camille. She pushed herself off the floor, prying the rapier out with her. She drew the rapier from her chest, before tossing it back to Camille. The toss was followed by a fist, in an attempt to catch the duelist off guard and break her windpipe with a shot to the throat. Mariette would take the impact, however, as she dove in front of Cassandra. Cassandra's fist collided with Mariette's sternum, knocking the wind out of the vampire and shattering a few bones in the process inside the vampire's chest.

Cassandra cast a glance to Mariette as she landed on the floor, shaking her head. "Throwing yourself in front of HER? Good gods, Countess, just what in the Abyss has come over you?" she said, before returning her attention to Camille. She then felt something hit her in the back. Then, a burning sensation. "What the hell?" she said, touching at her back. As she touched one of the wounds, she felt her fingers start to burn. "Acid? Clever boy!" she said, glancing over to where Theodore remained on the second floor.

Rosanna climbed back to her feet from where she landed, grabbing her sword back up and charging Archer once more. Meanwhile, Valeria focused more on the pureblood as she reloaded. "Wesley, we need to take Cassandra out. The others have Archer handled." she said, looking to the vampire before firing off shots at Cassandra while she was distracted by Theodore's acidic rounds.

Aleister couldn't fathom why his magic was not reaching Jakob. He had been in worse situations before and managed to apply magic where it was needed, healing or otherwise. His focus wasn't broken, either, unless he was simply fooling himself. Cassandra had always put his soul into an uncomfortable spot. While he admired a woman of her stature and the power she could wield, she was also incredibly deplorable and, for lack of a more eloquent phrase, evil. She stood for nothing worthy, and on top of her deeds, she was mentally unhinged. Perhaps simply being near her was affecting his casting.

Seeing Jakob take his last hit and collapse sent an electric tingle across his body, a shiver he rarely felt in his state of undeath. Rosanna was quick to leap into action, so Aleister did what he could to take charge of the situation. He hurried forwards and skidded across the marble floor towards Jakob. In his mortal life, he was not a strong man, but now he had the power to drag Jakob across the floor away from the heat of the combat. Targeted healing wasn't going to work. He needed to perform the magic directly.

Aleister brought Jakob towards the pillar he had been hiding behind, and hoping the others were able to handle the situation, he began to cast the strongest healing magic he knew - while keeping his hands firmly against Jakob's wounds.

Tried as she might, she was unable to keep the rapier driven into Cassandra despite her best efforts. Both hands pressed down on the handle of her blade, applying as much force as she could muster. To no avail, however, as she was thrown off of the pureblood with a considerable amount of strength, her plan only allowing her to deal more damage to Cassandra's frame rather than hold her steady. Thrown off of Cassandra and losing her footing slightly, she was wide open for a counterattack. Yet Camille was taken aback by the countess stepping in front of Cassandra's blow, and it gave her time to scramble for her rapier and re-arm herself.

"Need I stab your throat again, vampire?" was all the huntress had to say, glancing toward Mariette as she recovered from the bone-shattering strike with a look of silent appreciation. Her rapier pointed itself at Cassandra yet again, and quickly as she could muster on her healed leg she leaped forward and stabbed with both her rapier and dagger.

Frustrated with missing, and to see Jakob so horribly battered, Ethraeil clapped his hands together and spread them apart to release a wave of ice spikes towards Archer. The hybrid seemed to have taken a great deal of punishment and perhaps would not survive for much longer. Galina was hounding onto Archer, but what surprised Ethraeil the most was this new... form of hers. A banshee, and a powerful one at that, had been let loose upon the hybrid. He had felt something off about her aura as of late, but he never could have known it was this.

Acid? Clever boy!
"There's more medicine to what ails you, wretch." Theodore replied while looking at Cassandra. Just those bullets were not enough to burn through her skin on their own. No, more quantity was required for that. A quick reload and another salvo was send towards the pureblood.

Slowly Galina marched towards Archer. Her screaming continued while her form flickered repeatedly into her inner spectral form. With her hand raised she approached Archer and grabbed him. His life would end now at this very moment.

As the banshee howled, Mariette pounded the floor in anguish at the apparent death of Jakob. If only I could be in two places at once...

She painfully took up a fighting stance once more. Cassandra could hardly believe Mariette was defending Camille. What's come over you?

"I'm finally free from our curse," she rasped in reply. "Perhaps I'll see you in Hell soon enough, madame."

Rosanna closed the distance between her and Archer, rushing in and carving a slice out of Archer's right thigh before dodging his backswing. Ethraeil's ice spears also connected, impailing themselves in Archer's side which forced a loud groan out of his hybrid werewolf body. He was on his last legs. And Galina moved in to seal the deal. She marched over to the hybrid, as he collapsed to his knees, before taking hold of his large werewolf head. A moment later, she unleashed the most powerful banshee scream she could muster, forcing everyone in the room to pause to cover their ears. Archer, at the center of the sonic blast, could only take it. His eyes rolled back in his head, as he went limp a few seconds into the scream, before his head quite literally exploded violently. Blood and gore stained the hardwood behind him, as chunks of his head and bone rolled a short distance. Galina had executed the hybrid traitor.

Just before Galina's execution of the hybrid, Aleister managed to revive Jakob through the use of his holy healing magic. The werewolf coughed a few times, reverting back to his human form as he looked up at Aleister. Elsewhere, Camille and the others took their shots at the pureblood. Valeria, Camille, and Wesley all missed the vampire, each making their attempts to cause further damage but failing. Mariette and Theodore were more successful, as Theodore's acidic bullets hit her in the back while Mariette managed to score a slash across the vampire's side.

Once Galina had blown Archer's head off with her scream, Cassandra finally realized the situation she was in. All of her allies were now dead, and the inquiry group was moving in for the kill. Her anger faded, and she straightened up as she looked around the room at the others. Eventually, her eyes met Wesley.

Then, faint giggling could be heard. It grew into laughter, as Cassandra's face twisted into a more disturbing expression. She then disappeared, appearing across the room away from the group. She reached into her coat as she continued to snicker and laugh, and drew out several vials of Romanov blood. "I guess I should go all in, now!" she said, letting loose a loud cackle as she popped the tops off the vials. She then drank them all at once, coughing as she seemingly drowned herself in the magical blood.

A moment past, as she tossed the empty vials aside and shattered them. Nothing seemed to change, until she reached up and began to clutch her head. She struggled to stay standing, her legs wobbling as her fingernails dug into the flesh on the sides of her skull. Pained groans escaped her lips, and her eyes seemed to appear bloodshot.

Eventually, after minute had passed, she straightened up. Her expression was softer now, a warm smile appearing on her face. Her eyes told a different story. Cassandra had checked out upstairs, an empty gaze leveled on the group. Those empty eyes moved straight to Wesley, whom she grinned at. "David...its been so long...I've missed you." she said. Those closer to the pureblood noticed that there were tears streaming down her face now.

Cassandra Bainbridge [Insane] (Former Inquisitor, Pureblood Vampire) (Super Boss)
75 HP
Trait #1 - Fueled By Romanov Blood - +2 Chance to hit, +4 to DMG.
Trait #2 - Insanity - Can attack up to three targets at once.

Trait #3 - Pureblood - Immune to silver. Fire and Magic does +1 DMG.

Valeria spoke up after a moment, panic in her voice. "Take her down now! Before she kills us all!" she spat, pointing her revolver at the pureblood and opening fire. Rosanna pointed her own revolver at the woman, firing off a few shots as she gripped her sword in the other hand.

"David?" Wesley thought about what Cassandra said and then he remembered their conversation in the barn, she talking about someone who looked like him back when Cassandra was still sane and human. The Romanov blood must've completely jacked her mind. considering that she was starting to regain her old memories. nonetheless. Wesley raised up his axe again, preparing to retaliate once the crazed pureblood attacks him in a blink of an eye.

"If I were David, He'd tell you to fuck off."

Camille's stab met nothing but air, and before she could continue her assault the huntress was forced to cover her ears from the banshee's wail. Once she was sure it was over she quickly spun about to see where Cassandra had gone, quickly grabbing several more quills from the bandolier on her leg. Valeria's orders were obvious to her, and she flashed those silver needle-like daggers before her face to get on target. Standing there so vacantly, relishing in her own insanity, Camille figured she would not get another shot like this for a long time.

She loosed her daggers and threw them straight, hoping to embed them into Cassandra's eyes.

What Cassandra was doing was pure madness, ingesting all that potent Romanov blood to fuel her fight and it resulted in this currently spectacle. She had completely lost it, and now was more powerful than ever before. Ethraeil swirled his hands, dark magic pulsing and emanating in his hands. He prepared a dark, cruel spell that would cause prolonged anguish to its victim. A curse of flesh, as it was called, would tear her apart from the inside as it worked its way through her.

Once the energy was gathered, he thrust it at the crazed pureblood with full force.

Jakob's life was fading away. The memories of his wife, daughter, sister, and son flashed before his eyes. The curse of the werewolf blinded him, making him violent and irrational. He wanted to kill thoes that had cursed him, but remembering the sweet kisses of his wife, the little games he played with his daughter, the jokes from his sister, and the warm hugs of his son made him realize what he was. Once again, failing them. He tried to remember the words of his companions, the reassuring advices of Galina, the way both Aleister and Mariette had told him to accept himself, and specifically, the advice of Thiasis.

But as he continued to embrace the fate Adona had seemingly chosen for him, the cold yet soothing hands of an angel gave him life. His eyes opened wide and looked upon this angel, only to find that it was Aleister. Once again saving his hide. "H-Heh...maybe you are my guardian angel after all!" He coughed up some blood. While he was alive again, he was nowhere near in shape. He tried to stand again, to fight Archer, but witnessed Galina's true nature emerge. She had finally turned into a full fledged Banshee. He covered his ears as she screamed Archer to death. The traitor finally was put to death, and Jakob fell back, sitting against the column Aleister had carried him to. "Gl-Glad she got him..." he said, looking back to the priest. "Sorry Al...for pushing you and insulting you." He then gave him a smile. "This dog needs some training..." He offered his constable's revolver to Aleister. "Go." He gently patted Aleister's head. "Go help them, tiger...I'll be fine."

The banshee wail certainly lived up to its name. Aleister plugged his ears and inadvertently, when he gritted his teeth, bit his bottom lip with his fangs. If that scream wasn't the loudest thing he had ever heard, it was damn near it. He glanced over to see the carnage and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had completely killed Archer. The man's head had simply burst apart. Still, his head swam a bit from the sonic assault, and he groaned.

Jakob's voice brought his attention back to the man, and he gave a thin smile marked with stress. "Its quite alright. The wolf within you is not so easy to control, I'd imagine."

When the constable offered his revolver, Aleister gently turned it down. "You need it more than I do, friend. In your state you can barely move. It'll be a few minutes before the sorcery has you up and about again. As for me, I need to try my hand at helping put that bitch down. A gun won't help me, I'm afraid."

He shook his head in a flustered manner when Jakob patted his head. "Just... get a few good shots in from here. I need some space to try something."

Cassandra had finally gone over the edge, if she hadn't already done so long ago. Even in her normal state she was a nightmare, but now, Aleister wasn't sure what he'd even consider her. They had managed to kill Archer but he wasn't so sure that they would be able to take out Cassandra like this. She was fast, though perhaps he could do something about that. He had read some more about the odd Saint Gwyndolin following the fight with the necromancer back in the city. He had utilized their spell of solar snakes, and it seemed the holy affinity to such creatures was not limited to only one spell. They could also bind one in place, for a time.

With the chamber mostly open now as it was down to Cassandra, Aleister hurried out to an open spot and went to his knees. He removed a vial of blood from his jacket and poured it out on the ground. Not an unusual medium for magic, but a curious method for holy casting. He needed the extra strength it would lend, as well as the speed granted by an additional medium rather than speech. It took only a moment to create a few hasty scribbles in the blood puddle, and he looked up towards Cassandra.

Bind her, holy serpents.

Galina released Archer's now limp body, letting it fall to the floor. For a moment it seemed like she was beginning to calm down but when Cassandra spoke up Galina turned towards her in a quick, sudden, motion.

With a slight forward lean Galina targeted Cassandra with one final powerful scream as she walked across the room.

The Countess stumbled as she scored a powerful strike to Cassandra, almost in a daze after the terrifying display of Galina's new abilities. Having swung the sword like a club rather than using proper technique, she was surprised to have landed her attack at all when much more skilled fighters had failed. Perhaps it was simply her speed advantage which allowed a miracle to happen. Nevertheless, she turned and immediately got into position to receive the pureblood's reprisal, only to find that Cassandra was about to plunge down a rabbit hole she might never emerge from. "Merde!" she blurted as the vials were drained, bringing the pureblood to a terrifying and mind-obliterating nirvana.

Galina screamed again, and the others prepared their next volley of attacks, but Mariette was skeptical that anything could stop her now. Regardless, she took up her sword once more and let out a battle cry of her own before sprinting at her enemy. Please, let no one else fall...

Cassandra cannot attack. Bound for one turn (Aleister's Holy snake magic.)
Galina's Moment of Glory has ended.

------
Valeria, Rosanna, and Theodore opened fire on the pureblood, their shots connecting with Cassandra's torso but seemingly having not much effect on her. Then, Jakob and Ethraeil took their own shots at the pureblood, Jakob shooting at her with his revolver while Ethraeil flung his curse towards her. Mysteriously, both phased right through her. She then appeared in another part of the room, seemingly without moving from where she had stood before. As if she had created a copy of herself. Then, the one that everyone had been shooting at disolved to nothingness.

Cassandra had moved so fast that she created an afterimage of herself.

Then, Galina's scream hit her. She stumbled backwards a single step, before straightening up and looking upon the banshee as she finally silenced herself. The distraction proved helpful enough to allow Aleister's holy snakes to coil around Cassandra and bind her in place. Mariette used the chance to rush in and shove Cassandra's own rapier blade through her stomach.

Cassandra simply looked down at Mariette, and her expression turned to one of sadness. "...Elizabeth, I do hope you're feeling alright...Donovan told me what happened to Selene...she was always such a sweet little cat..." Rosanna moved in with her own sword while Cassandra spoke to Mariette, while Valeria took up a better position and fired once more upon the pureblood.

Ethraeil was shocked by just the speed Cassandra wielded now, having not noticed her moving until his attack had already missed by moving through her afterimage. He quickly turned to where she was now, preparing another attack. "She's completely lost it. I don't think she even realizes where she is anymore, or what time she's in." he stated with a growing worry. "This just makes her all the more dangerous."

With Aleister binding her in place, Ethraeil took the time to charge up a more powerful spell that he would release later for a bigger impact. It was a dangerous move, that was for certain, but decisive action needed to be taken. Dark energy combined with crystals of ice began to swirl into his hands as he brought them together to concentrate them at a single point. The air began to ripple as distort around his hands as he continued to charge up his attack.

"Keep her busy for the time being!"
