Ethraeil shrugged off the next shot, as bullets didn't hurt him much although it was a nuisance. More importantly was the threat to the other members of the inquiry it pressed should they fire upon them.

With his crowd control having succeeded and Theodore having blown them away as a gory mess, Ethraeil focused next on the soldier that had taken the most beating so far. He extended a hand towards him and pulled his hand forward, intent on tearing the vampire's soul out from his body.

Mariette was stunned as the blade ran through her body once again, the pain even greater than when she had been a pureblood. And yet, knowing that this could be her final act, a crazed determination flowed through her as she gripped the rapier's basket with all of her strength, grinning madly through a river of blood from her nose and mouth. She didn't bother replying to Cassandra; it was too difficult to speak. Moreover, the woman probably couldn't hear her, anyway, and so she simply stared back at her with equal ferocity.

After being punched in the snout by the hybrid creature, Jakob let out a wounded dog-like whimper as he tried to get up. He was slowly but surely seeing things past his anger. He was being too brazen, and he knew that Archer was indeed winning. As he got up, he looked at the hybrid, his claws ready to strike again. But, he noticed that Cassandra and Mariette were still fighting, bathed in flames. He looked back at Archer, and made a grin that looked rather unnatural in his current form. He charged towards the hybrid, and tried to grapple him. He had an idea.

"Damnable firearm," Alesiter cursed as he missed his shots in the fighting. He had done his best to avoid his comrades, which he had managed, but he had been too careful and missed his targets too. Quickly he stuffed the gun into its holster on his hip, and he clapped his hands together to begin channeling neutral magic. The blows being exchanged were ferocious, and it was difficult to tell who was really hurting in the melee. One on one healing would not be viable in this environment, but he had a novel idea.

Healing vapors were often used in churches or hospital wards whereas one could imbue sage or incense with healing properties. He had used this tactic before to help numerous people recover from illness. As he lacked herbs to enchant and a censor to place them in, he decided to attempt a somewhat unorthodox method of using the healing vapors. Focusing his mind and channeling his spell, Aleister intended to cast the magic directly from his hand. It would emit from his palm like a thin, wispy smoke that would fill the air and heal those that breathed it in. Which led to an issue - it would also, possibly, heal the enemy. However, Aleister was not one to shy away from further unorthodox methods, and he began to recite a long and old prayer on the nature of protecting one's comrades. He had no allegiance to any of their foe in the least, and if he was right in his melding of holy spell casting, the healing vapor should only help those he counted to be comrades. Mass healing was not the easiest thing to do, but it seemed he was not a major target at the moment. With enough focus, it should be possible.

Camille was quick to regain her footing after being shoved back, as it would take more than a simple push to get her out of the fight. Her eyes were only on Cassandra, and she narrowed her eyes as the mad pureblood stabbed straight into Mariette. As much as she had despised the type of vampire the countess was becoming, she remembered their agreement, and the respect she gained for her meant that this would be a pitiful place to die.

She didn't hesitate to intervene, pivoting on her foot as she performed an upward slash with her rapier that would transition into another stab. If Cassandra sought to hold that grapple and continue to ignore the Marquess, she would pay dearly. Every thrust she made with her sword was targeting vital areas, and this time she was aiming to drive its point straight through her throat. Maybe that would be enough to shut the crazed addict up.

The Soldier countered Wesley's axe swipe and drove a silver dagger to his stomach. leaving there and backing away fast. "Ugh!" Wesley grunts in pain as he pull the dagger out of his body and dropping it in the floor. Wesley retaliates and swings the axe, hoping that it would hit and finish off the soldier.

Having gained some space to maneuver Galina set her sights on Archer once more. She was aiming for his knees this time- hopefully she could at least score a hit on one of them.
A new swarm of bullets was let loose, flying towards the traitor.

Cassandra is no longer on fire. Mariette is no longer on fire.

Cassandra's hearing has returned.

------
Cassandra watched as Mariette shoved herself up further onto the blade, eyes locked onto her own. Cassandra growled before releasing the weapon's handle and shoving Mariette away with her boot. She wouldn't be preventing Cassandra from taking out her frustrations on everyone. As Cassandra turned about however, Camille rammed the tip of her rapier through Cassandra's throat. With a blood-filled gasp, she clutched at her throat. Once she gripped onto the rapier blade, she jerked it back out and pulled Camille right into a savage series of punches. With each punch, Cassandra's own blood poured from her now open throat as well as from her gritted teeth.

After the third punch, she planted her boot in Camille's stomach, sending her flying backwards as she let go of the woman's rapier. A moment later, Rosanna's sword sliced into roasted flesh of Cassandra's still burning shoulder. The pureblood looked back at Rosanna, enraged further, but failed to attack before being plowed into by someone else. Jakob, while the trio were fighting Cassandra, had managed to grab onto Archer. The idea he had was to throw Archer at Cassandra, and hopefully catch the hybrid on fire. Which proved successful. As soon as the hybrid's form touched the fire on Cassandra's body, he himself also caught on fire.

While the two attempted to get up, the remaining guards continued their fight against the group. The heavily weakened soldier that was still fighting Wesley prepared to strike once more, but found himself growing rapidly weaker. Ethraeil had decided to target him and rip his soul from his body. He was successful, as the man's eyes turned sold white as he dropped his weapon. Leaving his corpse very open to the incoming axe swing from Wesley. A moment later, the soldier's head was rolling across the hardwood floor.

The other soldier had continued to target Galina, who's shots had missed Archer as he sailed through the air. He swung at her once more, but luckily she moved out of the way so that his rifle didn't connect. The last soldier took another shot at Rosanna yet again, hitting her in the shoulder. Meanwhile, Valeria fired upon the soldier attacking Galina while Theodore shot connected with its target. Aleister's magical healing dust moved about the room, gently landing on his allies and soothing their wounds a bit.

As Archer climbed to his feet, he delivered a haymaker to Rosanna, whom had remained too close to the pair as they recovered. His back was on fire, the flames burning through his clothing. Meanwhile, Cassandra finally smothered the flames on her torso and shoulder, leaving scorched and mangled flesh in its place which ever so slowly began to heal. She attempted to speak, but eventually found herself coughing as blood continued to pour from the wound in her throat. The rage in her eyes spoke volumes, however. It also appeared that her hearing had returned, as she looked back at Archer after he delivered his punch to Rosanna.

The flames on Mariette's body finally went out as well, and she also began to slowly heal from the fire damage. It'd take far longer to heal than Cassandra's would, though. Rosanna looked to her friend for a moment, deeply worried for the vampire, before looking furiously back to Archer. If he was going to get in the way, she would remove him. Her eyes shifted to their black dullahan color, and she gripped her sword tighter. This hybrid needed to be put down. Elsewhere, Valeria continued her efforts, moving up from the pillar and taking a few more shots at the man whom was still attacking Galina.

"Stand back from them!" Theodore warned the others before lighting another fuse. Cassandra and Archer were in one place after a brutal onslaught from the inquiry. They were strong, but losing ground steadily to the inquisitors, they had to secure the advantage. He aimed the bomb to land behind the duo. Knocking them forward and dealing damage to their unguarded back.

The odds were beginning to turn in the Inquiry's favor as more and more soldiers fell. Cassandra and Archer were still in the field, but their lackeys were losing numbers quickly. Ethraeil felt a bit of a sting from Aleister's holy magic as it flowed to heal those with wounds. It certainly helped, but he was slightly annoyed since he was after all an undead being.

Nonetheless, Ethraeil continued his attack by forming a spear of ice from his hands, aiming at one of the vampire soldiers, and throwing it at him with an inhuman speed.

Camille found herself buffeted by Cassandra's fists and boot for landing such a decisive strike on her, knocked back and rolling about on her side before she quickly scrambled to get back up. Breathing heavily, she took note of the healing vapors in the air and glanced to Aleister, granting him a nod of appreciation before she stood back up and rolled her shoulders to work out the numbing pain in her body. At Theodore's warning, she stood where she was, flourishing her weapons and waiting for the detonation of the explosive before rushing back in.

If his idea was to knock back their enemies, her plan was to rush forward and give Cassandra a silver-plated point to land on. Another spirited charge had her hoisting her rapier at her opponent, ready to plunge it into her chest with her dagger ready for a follow up strike or parry.

Aleister continued his spell, allowing the thin healing mist to fill the air. Naturally it should settle near the ground, but in this case it floated up towards the ceiling in wispy trails. It seemed to be helping the inquiry and not the enemy, which was excellent. He had learned a little more about spellcasting, it seemed, and perhaps he could experiment some more later on mixing spells together or trying to enhance them. Dangerous work to be sure, but the immortality and health of a vampire allowed for such daring-do actions. He could still smell burned skin and grass if he thought back to his first few times trying to channel lightning.

Eventually, the mist faded from his hands and continued to linger for a while above them. He glanced about the group and noticed that Camille seemed to always at the forefront of the fighting, with near reckless abandon. Perhaps he could help her deal a little more damage. Aleister focused on Camille and summoned what energy he could to boost her strength and speed temporarily.

Jakob tossed Archer towards Cassandra with all his strength, letting out a bark-like noise as the Major was lit on fire by the magical blaze that Mariette had summoned. Then, a healing miasma began to set into the wounds on Jakob. The werebeast looked at Aleister, and gave him a respectful nod before charging towards Archer again. He had to kill him. Or at least wound him enough so Galina could. He knew that if he tried to strike Archer, though, that fire would spread to his own fur. He looked about the room, pausing his charge, before noticing a table that had been overturned during the battle. He went to it, and broke one of its legs off before charging the Major again as he swung his crude mace.

As the fight continued so did the bloodshed. Galina felt tears running down her cheeks as death was imminent for several people inside the room. She could also sense the presence of the Queen of Whispers which itself was a bad omen.

Preparing to fire another volley at Archer, Galina raised her rifle and took aim. This time she was aiming for his torso.

Mariette yanked the sword out of her chest in agonizing pain after having been kicked to the ground by Cassandra. As soon as it was free, she took stock of the situation. Aleister was doing a good job keeping everyone in the fight, herself included. Nevertheless, she was very slow to get up, and doubted that she could hit either Cassandra or Archer in her current state. Instead, she backed away, as Theodore instructed, and waited for an opportunity. Should Cassandra be stabbed by Camille again, Mariette would deliver a complimentary blow.

Wesley was unfazed as the axe goes through the Soldier's neck and comes out the other side. effectively decapitating him. sprays of blood went everywhere, staining Wesley's clothing. Wesley then looks around to evaluate the battlefield. his other Inquiry members seem to be doing well with Cassandra. Unaware, he was shot on the arm by another one of Archer's soldier. Wesley hissed in pain before he closes in and swings his axe at him in retaliation

As the group moved back from Archer and Cassandra, the pair didn't see the half-a-stick of dynamite that was tossed in behind them by Theodore. A moment later, as the fuse was rather short, it detonated. Archer and Cassandra, however, seemed practically unfazed by it. They merely stumbled a few steps before both straightened up, growling at the group. Rosanna was the first to move in and strike, followed immediately by Camille (whom was being buffed from afar by Aleister.) Rosanna's blade struck true, sidestepping an attack by Archer and shoving her sword through Archer's back. The sword ripped out the front of his chest, having been shoved clean through his right lung. As she jerked it back out, Jakob moved in for his own attack. After a meaty thwack from the wooden table leg in Jakob's hand (which shattered on impact), Archer spun about and delivered a crippling shot to Jakob's gut. The impact almost brought Jakob to his knees, due to the sheer power behind it. And this man hadn't even shifted yet! Still, it was close, as Archer's eyes had turned a blood red from their previous human color. He also seemed to reverse some of the damage that Rosanna had dealt to him, as his chest wound healed shut. Another wound was promptly given to him by Galina, as a few rifle shots hit Archer in the torso.

Meanwhile, Camille attempted to land another strike on Cassandra. Even with Aleister's buffs to her strength and speed, she was still far too slow for Cassandra. Cassandra seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye, appearing next to Camille and delivering a brutal kick to Camille's left knee. It felt as though the joint itself had shattered upon impact, almost bringing Camille down. As Cassandra stepped back, she finally managed to get a few words out as her throat wound had mostly healed by now. "I'm gonna mount your fucking corpse on a pike, carry it back to your homeland, and show it to the rest of your gods damned family." she spat, blood still oozing from her mouth through her stained teeth. "Then, I'll do the same to them!" she added. Mariette nearby refrained from attacking as Camille had missed her shot.

Elsewhere, Ethraeil hurled a ice spear at one of the soldiers, which ripped through the man's thigh and forced a yelp out of him. He fired back afterwards, his carbine hitting Ethraeil in one of his ribs. Wesley's axe carved a gash in another soldier, whom attempted to return the favor but missed, while Valeria missed the soldier that quickly took another crack at Galina. The rifle butt smashed into Galina's spike, sending sharp pains up through her back.

Rosanna took the chance to strike Archer again as he turned his attention to Jakob, moving in with her sword. Meanwhile, Valeria moved out into the open, taking shots at the vampire that struck Galina.

Ethraeil grunted as the soldier's shot impacted with his ribcage, growing more frustrated as the soldiers continued to fight. They just didn't seem to give up at all. In a fit of vengeance, Ethraeil readied a bolt of dark magic and aimed it at the soldier that had shot him but not before noticing how the fight was progressing against Archer and Cassandra. Camille was taking a beating, as was Jakob, which sparked a determination in Ethraeil get rid of the soldiers quicker so that he could aid his allies sooner rather than later.

With that in mind, Ethraeil unleashed his magic upon his target.

The kick to her knee was enough to get Camille to scream in pain, falling onto it despite the damage it suffered as she planted her hands on the ground for support. Once Cassandra stepped back and threatened her, she grunted and stood back up to her stance. Her limbs shook slightly, yet she spread the position of her legs a bit further and did her best to ignore the rippling waves of pain that were residing in her body. Cassandra's threat didn't frighten the Marquess one bit, and she stepped closer and leveled her rapier and dagger yet again. "You are not the first vampire to say such vitriol to me. And I swear you won't be the last..!" she shouts, performing a diagonal swipe of her blade to slash at the pureblood's midsection. Yet that was but a misdirection, as whether that strike missed or was parried she went in with her quill to stab into her chest.

Aleister could see both Camille and Jakob take brutal hits to their bodies. It was difficult not to recoil in sympathy from the damage they took, and Aleister was surprised to see Camille still moving on her leg. Jakob was at least supernaturally aided and could manage, but Camille was merely human. In the back of his mind, he wondered how much better she could be if she did away with the frailty of the human condition. Or how much more terrifying.

The healing vapors worked well, but Camille and Jakob seemed to be in most need of assistance. Remote targeted healing wasn't difficult, but it was slightly slower than laying on hands. Aleister raised his left hand in the air as if he were taking an oath, and he watched the battle steadily as he began another prayer-spell to heal both Camille and Jakob.

Having been struck again was annoying though Galina entrusted Valeria and Wesley to protect her- she was far too busy assisting Jakob from afar with Archer.

She loaded a fresh magazine and took aim once more. This salvo too was intended for Archer's torso.

As the Soldier missed his attack, Wesley uses his enhanced strength and sends his knee towards the soldier's gut, if it connects, he can raise his axe and send it right down the Soldier's neck

Cassandra and Archer didn't suffer too much damage it seemed. 'Disappointing this dynamite. What quality even is it?' He wondered as he prepared his revolver. The soldiers were still a nuisance that needed to be taken care of.

Theodore aimed and fired several silver tipped bullets at those fanged vermin.

Having regained her constitution, Mariette felt emboldened to attack Cassandra directly. As Camille lunged in yet again, Mariette attacked from behind.

Jakob let out another dog-like whimper, but he got back to his feet and struck Archer with a piece of loose wooden debris caused by Theodore's dynamite detonation.
