I can write those types of characters, but I prefer to not have them painfully unaware of everything bad in this world. In my opinion, there is no such thing as being truly good or pure, so that's why I try to make the happiest of characters different from the others of the same type, no matter how small. It's one of the reasons I have problems with happy endings. They don't exist.

I suppose you are right... Though I wouldn't say happy endings simply "don't exist", sad endings are just more common... It's a stereotype in the real world and the world of the imaginary.


Poor results overshadow good ones in this world.


A murder is more likely to be breaking news than a reunion.

It's not that they don't exist, but it's a bit hard to believe. Good things usually require some sort of sacrifice to be produced, so seeing a completely happy end is a bit odd to me.

I'm writing this during the day, which I find hard to do, so it's not much. You'll at least get somewhat of a grasp on Nova's character. So far, he looks a lot like the Kouki you've seen, Quirk.

I never really thought length mattered in an rp. Your post was coherent. And the style of writing your char's thoughts in a journal is interesting

I've played a lot of different characters, many of which I prefer to not remember. Some I keep around in the back of my mind, such as the happy character I previously mentioned. Aside from Kouki and Nova, I have two other characters in the same roleplay, one a villain and the other a "good guy".


I haven't seen many of your characters either, aside from Chiaki and Olympia. Regardless, I'm sure that they're well-made.

Nova seems like an interesting character. I'd say he resembles what Kouki would be like if he were older...which is awkward cause Kouki is older than Nova...

I already know what Kouki will be like if he is alive enough to get older. He changes, yet he doesn't. It's hard to describe, but I'll be able to actually show you if he survives.


Nova is...Nova. He's driven by curiosity like Kouki and has a similar empty atmosphere, but he shows a lot more emotion, mostly negative. They're both dark, but Kouki is more unsettling and creepy, like when he tried to kill Kuro again. Nova is more intimidating and calculative. Until that eye of his activates...


 
Nova is also who Kouki is based on, so in a way, he is older.

Kouki always seemed kind of naive to me...like he doesn't know any better...or any other way to live. That's what makes him creepy.


Nova definitely seems like the analytical and calculating type...

Kouki and Chiaki are both naive, in my opinion. Kouki doesn't know anything aside from how to kill people, since he's only been exposed to torture and was made to live that way. Chiaki chooses to be that way, tricking himself into believing things that aren't true with "logic". That's something Kouki will call him out on if it comes up. When it comes to his opinion on humanity, he's somewhat like a different person while describing it.

Well, Kouki hates everyone, so you won't have to worry about Chiaki being adored by all. You wouldn't really know it unless he's asked, but Kouki despises humanity in every way, especially those that lie. Hopefully, I'll be able to expand on why and the vision he saw in the future.


I'm looking forward to a meeting between them even more now. If they do become sibling students, that would be an interesting dynamic, along with all of their differences.

Don't worry YOU WILL reach the level soon. It's all in the details and considering the surrounding settings around your character not solely your character. For example in Lucem's post his character was examining other examinees from a distance and describing the material on them and how it appears to his character.


It's not an immediate thought for a writer to consider what is around, it takes practice and some thought into it.
