Fandom Hunger Games

Shog

The Infinite Being
It's just a normal hunger games. Pretty simple.

Keep cussing to a minimum.

Talk with the person if you are going to kill them, but don't kill them if they don't want to yet.

That said, be open to death as there will be only one winner.

If you try to get away with two winners, one or both of you will be killed.

If you are away from the RP for too long, then I will give the ok to kill you in the OOC section.

Don't make OP characters and make them fit the district they are from.

Make a maximum of 2 tributes per person.

Go to the OOC section to vote for the type of map you want.

"This is your first day of training. It's true you might die at the end of a spear, but you have just as much chance to die from the arena. Make sure you know how to survive the elements first. The smart ones always do. Begin!" The instructor shouted.

-----

Leo: It seemed like everyone ran straight for the deadly things. He headed to the survival area with confidence. He then serpent the next half hour completing it with confidence. He wanted to show off to try and get team mates without giving too much away. He hoped it worked.

-----

Alex: He picked up a spear and tried to look good. He was ok with it, but he wanted his hammer. He want stupid enough to pick it up in front of everyone, though. He looked around and started to study people. A partner is good. A good meat shield, anyway.

Olivia watched as all the contestants dispersed thought out the training arena. She stood still for a moment not really knowing what to do. She though about going to the survival guides, but she knew she had to spend some time with the weapons if she was even gonna have the slightest chance at this. She had her son to think about. What would Max do first?

Looking around she finally decided to go for the weapons. She headed toward the range arena and grabbed some daggers. they felt a bit heavier than expected, but they seemed easy enough to wield. She took a look of the person that was in front of her. He was throwing daggers around at lightning speed. Panic began to make Olivia feel overwhelmed,
There's no way I'm going to survive this.

As soon as they were released Carmen ran straight for the dummies. She grabbed a sword and began slaughtering those poor holograms. Her purpose was to intimidate the competition before they decided she was a weakling. She was small so that put her at a disadvantage, but Carmen was ready to slight throats. This was what she was raised for.

After spending some time at the fighting arena she skipped away to the survival arena with a smile on her face. She already knew all these survival skills, but reviewing was always helpful. Looking around at the other competitors, she could read all types of emotions. Fear, Confidence, Anger, Agony where all present in that small training room. Confidence, of course, was Carmen's second name.

Leo was about to leave basic survival when a girl showed up. "What district are you?" He asked. He already knew, but it couldn't hurt to try and make a team mate. He had everyone memorized from the train ride. He saw a few he thought were worthy of life. One was the person from his own district and the other was Olivia from district 8. She needs to live for her child.

Jason walked in the room excited, Finally! he thought I've been training for this for years.. it's finally here! He surveyed his prey around the room, noticing a girl that held daggers... though they seemed a bit heavy for her.. only because she held them wrong. A plan brewed in his head. He walked over and said, "Hi... my name's Jason... I'm from district 1.. let me show you how to hold those daggers right... "

Richard entered the room knowing he had almost no chance of getting out alive. Surprisingly, he was not afraid. He wasn't too excited either... In truth, he was calm. He saw a girl she had seen get reaped from district 8, Olivia.. I think.. what is she doing with that career.. she should know he'll just betray her....

Oliva's heart began racing with fear when the guy introduced himself as Jason and mentioned he was from district 1. She looked around to see if anyone was gathering around to make fun of her, but it seemed as if everyone was about their own business. If I reject his help, he might take it as an offense. Then again if I let my guard down, he can probably kill me with his bare hands. What do I do?! Without saying a single word, she handed the daggers over to him. He can't kill me here. So I'm safe for now. Maybe I actually do learn something. She waited for Jason to do whatever he planned on doing.

Carmen craned her neck to the guy who had just spoken to her. Her face was emotionless and her eyes stared deep into his. "Who want's to know?" Her high voice came out softly, but they sounded like a deadly threat. It wasn't like she was mean, but no one was your friend here. You were on your own. Even if you started an alliance, they were all going to have to betray each other eventually since only one person could come out alive. Carmen had a long life ahead of her since she was barely 13, so she wasn't going to let these days be her last.

Jason took the girl's daggers, and held them tightly, with his thumbs facing the ground, "These daggers are very well-balanced, hold them right, and they hold themselves, hold them wrong, and you'll end up dropping them, blade-down on your feet..", then he attempted to start phase one of his plan, "I know you're district 8.. you probably don't have much experience in these kinds of things.. but I see potential in you. I'm just a Career.. I mean, I could live famously after killing everyone here, but you, your life could actually get better... If we team up, I'll let you take me out after everyone else is gone..." He was saying complete bullshit, but one of the things he had been trained to do was lie perfectly... he would train her, then kill her as soon as she was the last one... Training her enough to survive did not mean training her well enough to beat him

Richard picked up a European sword, it felt heavy, and clumsy Maybe... if I could train myself to handle it.... He put it down, and reached for a thinner, sharper blade, a kitana Well... this is nice.. I think I could do this.. He gave it a couple swings, and decided that he liked it... he liked it a lot

"Leo, that's who. District 4. Word of advice, act like you don't want to slaughter everything you see. The Capitol won't like it and you won't get a team. Unless you want to solo it and die. I'm just trying to decide if your worth saving."

His last comment made Olivia laugh, "Yeah because giving up the life of rich and famous for a girl you just met is in your nature." Olivia smirked and grabbed the dagger from his hand. She mimicked the way that he was holding the dagger. There was an instant difference in weight although it felt a bit uncomfortable in her hand. "Like this?" Maybe I should keep him around. Even if he plans on killing me after, at least I'll survive for a while. Then I can escape.

"Maybe you should worry about saving yourself." She turned back to the rope she had been tying and finished off the knot. Yanking on the rope to make it was secure, she sighed and said in an almost sad tone, "The Capitol only wants a show. Could care less how we act as long as we don't sit around and mope." She faced Leo and crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm Carmen. District 3. But you already knew that, didn't you?"

Jason inspected how Olivia held the dagger, "almost, lift your wrist a little bit, it should be good then," He pushed her wrist up a bit, "that better?" he asked

Leo smiled a little. "Maybe. You know, you arn't half bad at that. If we team, we can survived unharmed longer together. It gives us the upper hand. What do you say?"

-----

Alex put his spear away and started throwing some weights around to look more impressive. Everything was planned out.

(OOC: by the end of training week, have two teams ready. You can go solo, but end up in a team to make things simple.)

The dagger melted in her hand as if it was part of her. She sway her hand around a bit to get used to the feel. Aside from it being much easier to maneuver, she bet it would be easier to throw to. With the right patience and practice, she might actually be able to hit the still targets by the end of the week. She lifted her gaze towards Jason, "Thanks..." There was a small amount of guilt in her for thinking that he was going to kill her, but remembering that only one person left here alive, the guilt was gone. Olivia placed the dagger back on the table, smiled and extended her hand towards Jason, "I'm Olivia by the way." Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Carmen debated the idea in her head. Two is better than one, but not if one of the two will betray her after. She could use him as a shield. With her age and size being a disadvantage, a guy as an alliance would definitely come to her advantage, that is until the last two people are left. She could just go solo, it was easier that way. She didn't have to worry constantly about betrayal. She just had to watch her back. Decisions. Decisions. Rolling her eyes, Carmen finally said, "I will not hesitate to kill you if we are the only two left." That was her way of saying, 'Oh yes I'd be glad to.'

Come on little fly... Jason thought, however, he said, "Nice to meet you," he took her hand, shaking it. "Are there any others you think would be good to work with?" He knew full well he was going to bring that district three girl in, she looked like she could do some damage...

Leo nodded. "It's official then. And if were the last people left, I'm not retaliating. I will play their game the way I want to."

Alex walked over to the district 1 boy. He was helping some girl from 8. "What are you doing with her?" He asked gesturing at the girl. "It's not customary for a career to team with a tribute from 9." He didn't really care what the reply was, he just needed a team.

Olivia was about to reply when a boy approached them. She didn't like the way he gestured at her as if she was lower than him, just because she wasn't from a career district. She frowned and gave a dirty look to the guy. Who does he think he is? She didn't want him knowing that she was getting help on holding weapons because that would make her look weaker than she already seemed. With a stern voice Olivia dismissed herself, "I must resume my training, but go ahead and chit chat without me." Olivia gave a half turn and went over to the survival area making sure to stay as far away as possible from the menacing looking 13 year old. She gave Olivia the creeps.

Carmen nodded and went over to a different section. Just because they were in an alliance didn't mean that she had to be with him while training. She wasn't going to let him snoop around so he can make note of her strengths and weaknesses. She went over to an agility course and began practicing her body movements calculating her time in each round and challenging herself to go faster every time. She was pretty quick, though she did loose her balance at times making her pause and lose precious seconds that could mean life or death.

Leo then left to practice throwing knifes. He wasn't to bad, actually. There was defiantly room for improvement, but he had the week. He felt eyes pressing in on his back, but he knew it was just the other two boys hanging around. Neither of them deserved to live through this. He had an ally and that was good for now. Better not to press his luck.

"I have my reasons to train her, I see potential, and I want to build on that, make it a fair game. There's no fun in it if it's too easy, Who are you anyway? I'm Jason."

"I'm Alex, district 2. Is your goal to use her as bait? Make her strong enough to survive, but not win? If so, I like you already." The last part was a lie, of course. He didn't have the ability to 'like' someone. He could be a valuable ally, though.

Jason eyed Alex, "My name is Jason... district 1, and" he began to whisper, "if you can keep that observation from Olivia, then we can work together.. just try to get on her good side, we can fight it out in the end."

Alex grunted in agreement. He then stalked over to Olivia and went into acting mode. "Um, it Olivia, right? Sorry for the way I treated you back there. I was trying to act tough for everyone. You know, get some allies or make myself look too scary to kill. I have been watching you. You know how to handle yourself in a fight, it looks like. Can I trust you? You know, for a while."

-----

Leo put down the knives. He had enough practice with them for one day, and he didn't like hanging around so close to two careers. He saw a guy trying to practice with a sword. A katana, actually. He walked over and picked up a slightly heavier sword and made a few swipes in the air. It felt good. He then walked over to the boy and made a few simple observations. His name was Richard from district 12. "Your'e holding it wrong." He said. He walked over and twisted his sword a bit. "Does that feel better?"

Richard took a couple swings, "Yeah... it does actually... where did you learn that? oh wait, my name is Richard... from District 12.. and you are?"

"Leo, district 4. My dad collected a few swords over the years and I trained with them in case, well, this happened. I could show you some basics, if you would like."

Olivia turned to face the guy from earlier. She placed her hands on her hips and leaned on a table that was near by. "You can trust me. The question is, can I trust you?" Olivia gave the guy a wry smile. "I'm not usually ill natured, but in a situation like this, it's hard to make friends if you ask me, especially when referred to as 'a tribute from 9'." Olivia could have gone on and on, but he approached her for a reason and she was dying to know what made a career approach her, a district 8 teen mom.

Carmen landed on her bottom. She cursed under her breath and got back up. It had been the 8th time she had ran the agility course and she was still at a forty seconds. She had seen a boy from district 5 finish it in thirty seconds. Carmen was determined to improve her timing. She went to the beginning of the obstacle course and prep herself for a re-do. Come on Carmen you can do this. You must be better than everyone here. You need to be better. Stronger. Faster. Smarter. A small beep went off signaling the start of the timer and Carmen darted into the course again.

"Well, I thought you were 9. It was my honest mistake. If it makes you feel any better, if I so much a scratch you the boy from 1 will have my guts out of my body before I hear the cannon. You made quite an impression on him. Just between you and me, I think he has a crush on you. So what do you say? Jason agrees, but I need your agreement first."

Olivia began to blush, but quickly thought back to the reason why she was here. "Not saying I don't appreciate the flattery, I really do, but what would two careers want with me. It seems a bit fishy if you ask me." Olivia knew she was throwing out an opportunity of a life time. Being in an alliance with, not one, but two careers was both a gift and a curse. One wrong move and she was as much as dead, but she would be untouched by the other 21 while she was with them. She needed time to think and make a rational decision. Right now her mind was only focusing on one thing, she needed to find a restroom.
