Realistic or Modern Horror Hotel ~A Vacation Gone Horribly Wrong~

Ian screamed when he felt someone bump into him, his heart nearly stopping inside of his chest. He shit his eyes momentarily, afraid to see another bloody, eyeless monster standing in front of him. However, upon realizing after a few seconds that he wasn't dead and finally looking at the face of the person with whom he had collided, he noticed a bright pair of eyes, not empty sockets. It was the girl that Avyanna had nicknamed "Princess," not a horrifying creature.

Never had Ian Kidd been so relieved to see another human being.

"What the hell?!" he managed to get out as he tried to regulate his breathing, his usual moody self returning after the initial shock had passed. He was about further tell her off, but before he did, he got a better look at her and thought better of it. She looked slightly wasted. And she was wearing a bathing suit, of all things.

"Are you drunk?" he asked her, eyebrows raising in disbelief. The question came out sounding insensitive, but he couldn't help but feel at least the slightest bit of concern for the "Princess." She looked pretty messed up. @OrangeCandy

"Ian..." Jade put together his face and his name slowly. "What the hell?!" He yelled, it made her head pound.

"I... I don't... He put something in my drinks." Jade forced her mouth move, her head pounded again, she held a tired hand to her temple. "He..." Jade remembered the pool boy's torn, decaying flesh, and her stomach grew queasy. "He wasn't... human." She finished, squinting at the harsh hall lights. She couldn't make it much longer, she needed to get back to her room to sleep off whatever was in her system. But... she needed to leave. What was she supposed to do?

@NimbusTheCat

Several questions raced through Ian's mind at that moment. Who is "he"? What exactly did he put in her drink? She's not going to die on me, is she? What he did understand, though, was when she said that he wasn't human. So he and America weren't the only two that were seeing things.

Ian was at a loss. On one hand, he couldn't quit looking for his niece, could he? What if something happened to the poor girl? Or worse, what if something had already happened to her. With this place being as it was, that seemed, unfortunately, very likely. But he also couldn't just leave this young woman alone, and in the state that she was in, she wouldn't exactly be able to help him search. And America and Aurelia were both still looking for Avyanna...Breathing a heavy sigh, Ian made his decision.

On the bright side, it was somewhat less difficult for him to speak with the woman while she was inebriated.

He wanted to ask her if she could walk, but, judging by the way she looked, she wasn't going to make it very far.

"C'mon," he said as he, while very much regretting every life decision that he'd ever made, reached down and lifted her into his arms. He was just going to have to take her back to their room until she felt better. Ironically, as he walked, he noticed that he was carrying her princess style, which prompted him to say, "Just hang in there, Princess."

Suddenly, Jade's legs were swept out from beneath her. "Huh?" Jade screamed in her head, but it only came out of her mouth as a tired murmur. Looking up, she realized that Ian had picked her up. Why? She asked herself, Where are we going? Is this really Ian? Why can't I walk? The questions swam lazily throughout her drugged consciousness before she blacked out a little. Jade thought she heard someone say to her, "Just hang in there, Princess." This woke her from the few minutes she was under, opening her eyes in surprise. "Ian?" Where am I? She asked herself another question, then remembered that she was in the strange hotel where the dead and demonic roamed the halls. But, looking up into the anxious face of her hero, it made her feel safe. She fell back into her slow subconscious.

After nearly half an hour of searching with no results, America and Aurelia finally happened across the security office.

"Oh, thank goodness," Aurelia breathed, darting in as quickly as she could. Up until that point, she had been inconsolable and had been starting to believe that security was just another thing that the Golden Crown was lacking in.

"Excuse me, sir," she called out to the man behind the desk as America walked in behind her. (Although nothing else suspicious had happened as of yet, she was still wary of letting Aurelia out of her sight.) "Please, our daughter is missing. She's a little blonde girl, five years old, and..."

She paused as America laid a hand on her shoulder, signaling her to stop. There was something strange about the guard. He had a huge, mannequin-esque smile plastered onto his face, and his eyes remained unblinking as he stared at the two of them.

"Good evening," he droned in a voice that sounded more machine than human. "What seems to be the problem? It is my duty to assist you in the most efficient manner possible?

Aurelia became slightly flustered at the question.

"I already told you," she said, giving the strange officer an odd look. "Our daughter's gone missing. Could you please find out if anyone's seen her? She's a little five-year-old blonde girl -"

"Your daughter is gone."

It took both women a moment to process what the officer had said.

"Excuse me?" Aurelia's voice rose slightly in pitch, her indignation obvious on her face. America gave her shoulder a squeeze in an attempt to calm her down. Something definitely wasn't right.

"Your daughter is gone," the officer repeated, his smile unwavering. "If there is any other issue with which I can assist, feel free to ask."

"Look here, sir, I don't appreciate you talking to my wife -"

"Why, you bastard!" Aurelia shouted, cutting her wife off and advancing on the man. America tried to hold her back, but wasn't fast enough. As soon as Aurelia got within one foot of him, however, a shrill sound filled the room, volume increasing until it was downright painful.

Aurelia cried out and pressed her palms to her ears, and America, grating her teeth and trying to ignore her own pain, reached out to grab her arm and pulled her from the room. The officer simply watched them go, the smile never leaving his mannequin face.

(@OrangeCandy I'll continue with Ian and Jade when I get back from driver's ed)

(Awww, Ian's a hero. The princess and her knight. xD )
((Lol okay! Good luck in driver's ed! And haha mmhmm :D ))

By some weird stroke of luck, Ian was able to get Princess (as he'd begun to refer to her in his mind) back to the room without incident. Unfortunately, neither Avyvanna nor her mothers were there when he got back, but he opted to take one small victory at a time.

When he entered the suite, Ian placed Princess in the bed in the room that had been allotted to him and tried his best to make her comfortable, bringing in an extra pillow from the couch and gently pulling the blanket and sheet up over her still form. Once he had finished, he took a seat in the armchair that sat in the corner of the room. He thought about just leaving her there to sleep while he went back out to look for Avyanna, but he figured it best not to, as he didn't want her waking up in a strange place, especially if something weird happened.

He brought up a hand to scratch at the back of his head as he looked at the sleeping girl, the blankets around her moving almost unnoticeably with every breath. He wasn't exactly sure how he was going to go about speaking to her once she came around, but he would cross that bridge when he came to it. The most important thing at the moment would be looking out for any...unwanted guests, although he severely hoped that he wouldn't need to. He felt the need to protect the Princess, for a reason that he really preferred not to get into with himself at the moment. Avyanna would probably be thrilled at the idea, would most likely say that he was some sort of knight. But he really wasn't. He was just...doing the right thing. Yeah, that was it, he thought to himself as he continued to watch over the girl sleeping in his bed.

(@OrangeCandy I said the thing xD )

Jade slept restlessly for a while, tossing and turning, her dreams turning to nightmares of the horrible things she'd experienced in the past 24 hours. Finally after a scene including the pool boy's smiling face falling off into his skeletal hands, Jade awoke with a start. Bolting upright, she was relieved to see that she had only woken up in her hotel room once more. Though it didn't make much sense, it was better than waking up in - "AAHH!" Jade screamed when she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Turning quickly to see her attacker and pulling the bed sheets up to her face, Jade finally realized who it was. "Ian?" Quick images of Ian's face from her perspective of being carried flashed through her mind. Jade began to piece together that she was probably in his room, and he had probably just saved her. The poor girl didn't know what to feel - horrified at her situation, disgusted with what happened with the pool boy, thankful for being saved, insane for the night's events. Ian's stern mouth opened cautiously, about to say something, but Jade cut him off with her pointer finger to signal 'wait'. She held a hand over her mouth as she ran to the bathroom and vomit up whatever the undead poolboy had given her to drink. Being the young girl she was, for the moment Jade could only think about the man who saved her. I'm sure I'm making a great first impression... Jade sighed, pressing her forehead against the cool toilet seat and flushing her vomit down the drain.

((@NimbusTheCat EEK! What a hero. *Swoon* Too bad the princess isn't feeling too well...))

(( Haha I don't blame him. Saving a drunk girl that wouldn't take a hint to leave you alone, bringing her to your room because you have no other option, and watching her wake up only to scream in your face and then go puke in your toilet? Oh, and she's in a friggen bikini? I have no idea what I would do if I were him... Probably just sit there lol :'D. Lucky for him, Jade's a talker. ))

(Sounds good! I'll post mine rn and then we shall wait.)

Ian stood outside of the bathroom, unsure of what exactly to do. What was she doing in there? Was she alright? Did she need help? He didn't want to walk in on something that he wasn't meant to see. When he heard the sounds of retching from inside, though, he figured that it would be alright for him to check on her. He walked in just as she flushed the toilet and found her sitting on the floor, her head resting on the toilet seat. Good. He had made it into the room. Now what?

Kneeling down beside her and asking if she was alright really wasn't his style, or something he could do without messing up somehow, in all likelihood. So, instead, he walked out into the main room, filled a glass with water from the kitchenette, returned to the bathroom, and grabbed a clean towel out of the overhead rack.

"Here," he said as he held both of the items towards her at arm's length.
