Fandom Homestuck Roleplay: Sburb Omega

It's a very intricate practice. We must fill an empty skull with the virgin blood, and place the adventure time paraphernalia on a small fire. We then must chant to the elder ones as we each take a sip of the blood, passing the skull in a circle around the fire. The last person must immerse the burning paraphernalia in the remaining blood and the fire should turn blue. From there, we wait.

Note: If the fire turns purple, it means we need a larger sacrifice, either a human baby or 7 pounds of chocolate.

Look everyone, I"m sorry for my great absence this past month but after moving a the last minute and being swept up in a variety of craziness, my life became so hectic that I had to leave for a short period without eve remembering to post notice like an ass. But now I'm here and I want to make sure we keep this alive, because Homestuck Forums can be cool and awesome as well as really kickass yet everyone always abandons them like I did for some reason, but the important part is that I don't let such things transpire on my watch anymore.

Now, for plot.

I assume everyone's just been muttering about after Kamril and Dank entered their various lands, the likes of which are cool but remain in need of being servered. However, if our member count has reached a low as to having only 4 people, then I remain fearful we're going to have to make some augmentations to the roleplay slightly. But i remain additionally doubtful this is the case, unless Witch of Tape has been off recently.

Yay you're back! Anyway, if certain members don't come back to the rp, I could implement something fun to kill them instead of us having to retcon them lol.

I was thinking of a similar situation. We may have to kill off a lot of the kids from our first session and concentrate more on either the Trolls or possibly another session we could always introduce.

Another session could be a scratched version of the kids' game, like maybe a doomed timeline is formed by the deaths of the other kids and so a scratch sends them to a session containing only the ancestors of 4 kids, our kids.

As for any trolls of members who dropped out, they could just be culled in our reckoning.

As for what I was considering doing to kill some kids, I was thinking that BM killed some kids' ancestors in the scratched session after becoming this combination of GLaDOS and the Condesce, taking over the world with some kind of robot apocalypse and enslaving the human race, as well as retconing their place in Prospit and Derse and ultimately the game. Meanwhile, the corresponding omega kids' dream selves were killed by a character that I will reveal later. Muhahaha I'm evil. And Jack can kill the corresponding kids' real selves, if Ryik wants to help me with this diabolical, convoluted and very ridiculous child murder retcon party.

If that's too convoluted though, we could have another alien session or I could insert another cool character to kill people. So many potential SBURB characters. I could also insert HIM lol. Let's fuck shit up.

The other guys might have some morbid, convoluted plans too so I'll wait for them to insert their two cents.

We're still fine to go, assuming @Virtual Laptop is still around. @WitchOfTape can retcon the fuck out of Athena, essentially taking her place.

We could always just continue as normal, and if the troll session is so cumbersome, we could return to the human session, whose plots still await. We haven't had a single direct player interaction in the human session so far.

The troll session waits on Dhirth and the human session has just about everyone doing their own thing. Jack is waiting on Crocia, and just about everyone else has completely open-ended prospects.

I suggest we continue bringing trolls in until everyone is in before switching back around to the human session and retconning the fuck out of Athena into a nonexistent husk.

PUSHKS HAS BEEN GONE FOR ALMOST A MONTH NOW AAAAA
If we're really so eager to abort, we could follow the following plans, though it's both an actual spoiler and really wishy-washy. We already put the human session on hold for the troll session, and to abandon both is a bit callous imo.

Seriously though only read it if you're attached to the prospect of ditching both the human and troll sessions and all potential they have.

So, to recap:

The human session consists of Crocia, Ryan, James, Athena, Ambrosius, and Dina. Crocia and June are switched between the human and troll sessions, but their guardians are not. Jack rides in with Ryan and June to each session. He arrives in the trolls' session of Kamril, Dank, June, Dhirth, Yahtoi and Miante late, only getting a body when the players are already fairly advanced.

Future (possible) plans, both established and just made up:

Jack tries to cheat the game and manages to destroy Skaia, but he is unable to scratch the game. It hardly matters besides since meteors are still being redirected and he could only scratch his way into Alternia, not Earth. He is killed.

Meanwhile:

Jack springs forth, completely naked, on Crocia, who's come to do ectobiology. He plants the two Tigerdeath dolls on Ryan and June respectively before fucking off back to Ryan where he alchemizes a robot body to be sent back through the antitelephone. James and Ambrosius fuck. Ryan later introduces Jack to James and Ambrosius since they are the only ones who are with each other and then fucks off to do what Jack tells him to do. Jack offers help to advance, killing Ambrosius and having him go god tier. James goes grimdark and throws a tantrum ultimately resulting in either his death or suicide. Jack kisses him back to life, but apparently his dream self was way ahead of his other self on the whole grimdark thing, and now he's throwing a tantrum on derse.

This is a good opportunity to kill off every derse dreamself besides James. That other character you mentioned can have prospit.

Jack, deciding this bullshit needs to end, heads to skaia to pick up the now god-tier Ambrosius and bring him to James to get him out of his grimdarkness.

The trolls' game now unwinnable because of Jack, they seek assistance, even if in vain, from the human session June/Crocia got mixed up from/with. This immediately sheds distrust on the Jack in the human session, and James and Jack are at odds with each other in a "you're not to be trusted" "says the one who killed his friends" sort of fashion. Now knowing destroying Skaia doesn't work even with retcon-like shenanigans of tachyonic technology, Jack gives up, having tried several other things already in several other sessions. He tells everyone in the human session so, but of course he's not trusted, so he basically goes about trying to win the session by force. One thing leads to another and it's attempted to give BM a proper body. Jack would naturally object to this, but HE'S EVIL LOL WHO CARES.

...For one reason or another BM scratches the session? Or maybe James to fulfill his role as "Prince of Space"? IDK. Either way our session seems to be leaning towards a scratch. By then Ryan would likely reach his god tiers from sheer grinding and what Jack has been telling him to do. Seeing as how he'd be the highest on the echeladder by then, (almost entirely only because he's been ignoring his planet's quest, unlike Crocia) he'd bring him to face his denizen, earlier than he should no less. Tachyonic antitelephone for a bit of hax, they beat it to gain access to the grist hoard, which is the easiest way to alchemize ridiculously expensive objects. Jack would force Dina to reach god tiers. Athena would die.

Jack wouldn't help James or Crocia go god tiers because the former seems detrimental and the latter is a worrying ability. (also a reason why he chose Ryan over Crocia to defeat a denizen) Crocia might be able to if she actually had someone to tell her what god tiers are and how to get to them.

Jack, with Ryan's grist, heads straight for the most endgame alchemy possible and, naturally, alchemizes a death star. They use it to escape the scratch with everyone but Athena, possibly because, for example, Jack said that hers was the only remaining living guardian, but she couldn't find him in time. (Or did, but only just as BM killed him or something. IDK)

Assuming Virtual Laptop is still around, we can still have a 6 person session with WitchOfTape taking over Athena's guardian, retconning it even to be whatever the fuck we want.

Meanwhile, depending on the omniscience of HIM or the general amount horrorterrors really hate Jack, we might be able to salvage some trolls.

Ugh......I'm not sure what to think anymore. For some reason after being gone for so long, I've only come to be more and more detached towards my characters. When I went on, my initial thoughts were all this 'oh god' and just this 'out of place' feeling I contracted obviously due to my recent absence. I of course disregarded such prospects on the matter primarily, mainly because I felt you all would never go with the idea of simply 'starting over' because unlike me some people have done some posting in the last month. It seemed inherently callous as you said, and not to the characters, but to everyone who made the effort to create something and do a whole fucking adventure just to start over.

It's like deciding if we're going to actually start a scratch. Funny how parallels exist.

I just.....eh. Maybe I'm just being bitchy about this, the obviously logical and more sensible decision is to obviously continue with what we have, gutting some characters here and there and just keep on trucking with what we got. If we spam the enter command with the Trolls, then we'll finish up act 2 and then get on back to the Humans or maybe some other bullshit session that we manage to shove in. Hell, we could have a Cherub session if we wanted to just fuck around.

I think I'm being to heavy handed on one possibility.

I also, for future reference have no problem with Witch's retconning of Athena, she's a nice roleplayer and stuck around. She's reliable and more than decent, you really can't ask for much more in a Forum member. Laptop is definitely still on, lurking somewhere.

There they were greeted by Emily, the teenage horrorterror. Rudely. "Oh my god, didn't Ashley tell you that this is a girls-only session? Like, totally not cool." Emily then flailed her vibrating flagellum, fondling Rick and Morty violently.

Lol :D

I have a horrorterror character who has a tendency to project his personality into a humanoid surrogate in order to communicate. The extent of this ability is that the surrogate can't touch anything, it's pretty much a psychic hologram.

I elect we do an all-Xatu session.

It has... potential.

Okay but seriously what are we going to do?

Yes.

Moving on, since we're planning ahead at the moment I feel I should mention I will probably be unavailable on the 29th and an ambiguous amount of time afterwards. I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed.

Last edited by a moderator:
Getting mine removed wasn't that bad. It honestly didn't even hurt. There was only a bit of pain after the numbness wore off but it's not even close to how they portray it on TV.

Or how the doctors themselves and their pamphlets describe it.

"Get plenty of rest afterward, keep your head elevated on a few pillows, no straws because your mouth might bleed all over the fucking place from the suction, remember to take the anesthetic, you should stop needing it within a week, and no hot foods, you can burn your mouth because you won't have any fucking feeling in it."

Either way I'm getting the anesthetic that puts you to sleep, so how long it takes and when I'll actually wake up I don't know.

I hope you don't get too messed up. I'm not familiar with anesthesia from multiple things, mostly because I don't actually go there or to a doctor's office/hospital very often. I believe it's because I have a healthy inclination. I guess. But since it seems you'll be drowsy for a while I'm happy you told us in advance, now we can use the weekend to plan out on where we really need to go.

Despite the fact that there is an actual poll I can put in place on the forum, I'm deciding against making it any more of a big deal it is. Plus I don't even know how to make such a thing, so there.

Ok, so we have basically three options laid out before us. Three main options anyway. We can either;

  • A: Go back to the Trolls and continue to Roleplay, since Witch is probably still active in addition with laptop, we should have no real problem. If we do, the Trolls would go muck about and suffer some shittty fate, contacting Humans and having their own shenanigans.
  • B: But some yellow tape on the Trolls for now or end their arc prematurely and go back to the humans and see what's up there. That's always viable considering we have a lot of potential in what we left when we cut to the Trolls, no one's even met IRL yet like what Ryik said in addition to their possible developments in store. However, we remain with the issue of Athena, which actually isn't that bad of a situation considering how easily Witch can retcon her.
  • C: We scrap the hell out of what we done for no real logical reason besides getting a fresh start with more reliable members and make a new session, the nature of which would possibly be more guided considering I've learned more Homestuck basics in my leave of absence, like how we need Frog temples on a planet to begin a session unlike what we did with the Trolls (I believe).

I think I'm literally a compulsive Admin. Whenever I'm bored or think a new anime is cool, I make a forum about it. It's a very bitter process and cycle which has hurt myself so much. It's an addiction, I was watching SAO last night and well.....this happened.

I spliced avatar classes and aspects with God tier titles.

That's Homestuck+SAO.

It was my impression Yahtoi had a frog temple. Maybe not stated directly, but in the fact that he's living in a desert. There were two Alternian frog temples due to the mobius double reacharound, and one was near Kanaya's hive.

I shouldn't really be drowsy. Once the surgery-grade sleep drugs wears off, the anesthetics are the just the painkiller kinds.

We could scrap the hell out of one thing after another, but that just makes for transient roleplay nobody wants to invest any effort in. (aka a simple roleplay) Since they are meant to be an interwoven story, we could always just have the troll and human sessions happen in parallel, albeit not necessarily linearly. For example, the human session can continue, troll interaction included, and the trolls can continue working to get into their session. When we get to the point where the trolls would have their conversations with the humans we can just reference the IC page number or whatever.

Depending on how quickly we want to escalate the session into an apocalyptic circlejerk, we could have the characters move on towards scratching a session and, naturally, escaping it into the post-scratch session. Our guardians are largely unfleshed characters, so there's a fair amount of open-endedness.

An alternative option would be to open the RP up. The problem with Homestuck RPs is that is relies either on character death or retcons to fix problems with its roleplayers. Every session has a finite amount of players, so that will universally be a problem. Now, if more people wanted to join, they wouldn't be able to.

A possible fix for this is to allow multiple sessions to happen at the same time, and that includes more than just our human and troll session. Say half of us wanted to create more RP characters: As such, we could, and 3 additional RPers could join in.

I elect that, like most RPs with large involvement and no retirement available, that characters we don't want anymore get culled and we can make new ones infinitely.

Let me put it another way:

In the overview tab, we put a list of all sessions and applicants, looking something like this:

Human session 1

Crocia, Ryan, James, Ambrosius, Athena, Ambrosius, Dina
Troll session 1

Kamril, Dank, June, Dhirth, Yahtoi, Miante
Human session 1 (scratched)

That guy, that other guy, etc. etc.
Waiting applicants

Izen, Nyna, etc.
We of course add a rule that you can't have two characters originating from the same session lest we end up with stuff like two people controlling a ten player session. In this way you aren't forced to change your character, but changing it would allow you to form a session with other applicants faster, with a first-come first-serve policy if multiple applicants are viable.

We can call Crocia/June an exception for allowing trolls into human sessions and humans into troll sessions. They technically were, but it's hard to fuck up ectobiology so much that it happens multiple times.

So, if you no longer liked James/Dhirth any longer, you could kill them off, and then create a new character that would eventually be put into another session.

In this way we can always allow more RPers in and because of the multiverse nature of Homestuck, could let characters in one session join characters in another if we so chose. (either through winning the game or escaping a session)

Yes I know, it was a bad idea.

Hmmm, I like the concept, it's definitely different than how an initial Homestuck roleplay works due to how a fundamental and almost universal problem in Homestuck roleplays is how they always fail inevitably, either because there aren't enough people or whatever, but it always eventually happens through some unfortunate and shitty means. However, it's a viable option if you think about it.....

I think, for my own sake, I'll kill of James and Dhirth so I can start again, fresh and new and lead a new session with those people still waiting to join. That way I can get back into the groove of a new character while everybody else can continue with their own sessions, whether troll or human as they interweave and intermingle. However, there remains a problem with this. If I simply cull the space player of both Human A and Troll A sessions, won't that inherently screw over that session?

I suppose it would just give purpose for the characters of that session to overlap into other sessions by starting a scratch. Such is the world of Homestuck.

Having both sessions screwed over doesn't change all that much really. One was scheduled for screwing up, so I guess it'd just be double screwed.

Having the human session do a scratch always seemed like a foregone conclusion. Think you could still RP with James' guardian?

Or I might not cull them at all. In the end I think I'll keep rping them and I might just get back into the swing of their characters, I'll put them both down as maybies for the death train. I still have to Rp Dhirth for a while until some bullshit happens and screw over his session, and for James, I'll figure I'll rp with him for a while as well, it could never hurt to at least try.

I will however Rp James' guardian in addition to Jamesprite, simply because they are the ones I'm most willing to keep alive. I'll participate in the newly erected post-scratch human session I believe we're trying for. I'm spreading myself a little far here, but still, that's not entirely out of the question.

Ok ok I'm all caught up on reading OOC thread and like

I certainly don't mind retconning a character into the place of another, and I'm not entirely sure what other input i can give on this discussion. ^^'
