Okay I’m a little halfway through my post but there’s something I think would be really important to check with Shroomie about first.

So Fullmetal Alchemist is a series that heavily deals in themes of Racism, Fascism, and cycles of hatred, with Conqueror of Shamballa especially diving into the racism prevalent during the time period the film takes place in. And as well, in the rp I’ve been emphasizing how the context of what Edward has gone through recently in Amestris and Germany are causing him to just completely misinterpret the current situation at hand.

Specifically at one point in my post I was initially planning on having Edward pick up on Parsley’s comment regarding Andromeda’s ‘heavenly blood’ and think to himself something to the extent of “This idea of someone’s blood being better/more purer than others kinda reminds me of this way I’ve seen people use the concept of ‘better blood or genetics’ to justify doing bad things”, however after some consideration I decided to cut out that part entirely from my post.

However, even if that will no longer be apart of my post I still think it’s very important to have a discussion with you as, with both the kind of series that Fullmetal Alchemist is and the intended tone for the rp itself (since at the end of the day this is an rp about a bunch of silly cartoon and movie characters going dungeon crawling ), it’d probably be a good idea to double check with you on what you would be comfortable with in regards to any potential mentioning of that manner of subject matter. And please be sure to let me know if anything I’ve already written for Edward so far in regards to that sort of topic is also something that you would prefer to be removed or not mentioned in the future.

I've personally never seen Fullmetal Alchemist and while I can't choose what is allowed to be spoken about in this roleplay, I do hope you can showcase Ed's political views.

I say this as someone who is playing a character who is disgnosed with two cancers. And while I will limit speaking on the subject, for the sake of it being frankly, one of the hardest subjects to talk about, Komaeda's personality is a byproduct of his FTD (Frontaltemporal dementia). Thus I can't truly hide it. I can't hide the deterioration of Komaeda's health from his lymphoma either or his ideologies instilled to him by neglect and socital hierarchie because at that point, I'm not role-playing Komaeda.

So, even if you do have to censor themes of the story and by proxy Ed, I hope you can still find little ways to portray him to his fullest. :]

Obviously not my decision to make but I’ve briefly made mentions of tribal discrepancies in my Eupha posts which equates to racism for her. It’s something that greatly influences her character and kind of hard not to mention in order to explain why she does certain things. Metaphor itself explores a lot of those kinds of subjects. I think it would be fine in all honesty especially done in mild ways

While I do want this to be a haha funni RP, I also want to be able to touch more serious topics. I'm completely fine with talking about controversial issues (otherwise, I wouldn't have Linkle talk about warfare and religion, or Carmen with crime and murder, yk). Racism can definitely be touched upon in this RP just as long as it abides by the RPN guidelines.

However, the "Heavenly blood" ordeal isn't what you believe it to be (if for some reason you think the people who have it are lording it up). Basil, Parsley, and even Andromeda experience discrimination. Why do you think Basil and Parsley are one of the only few that live outside of Vespertine's castle-town? Because of their heavenly blood! They have their pointed ears, a symbol of magic among ordinary people, and the citizens of Vespertine have come to be afraid of magic, saying it always leads them to nothing but trouble, etc etc. Andromeda has faced threats and demands to resign from her role as leader of Vespertine because she too can perform magic, and has pointed ears as well. Some have even said that she deserves the curse she currently has, and would much rather prefer a normal mortal in charge once she dies. It was magic that started the Blazei War, and it's because of that magic that Galangal is after all of mankind, so no more magic=no more looming threat of doom in their eyes

So there are already topics of discrimination in the lore of this story, so by all means, go ahead. Im not going to try and censor out things that are controversial in a character's thoughts or background or whatever. All I really care about is not getting in trouble with RPN.

Lol well I’m glad you like it. I had to do a lil silly since it popped into my head since the thought of having Arsene come out in my next post did cross my mind though I probably won’t do it. Dhsjfjdj Like omg I genuinely felt so bad when I realized I’d kinda starting diving into topics of racism in the rp without consulting you first, since I really wasn’t sure what would have been your comfort zone. Especially since the can be a big difference between magical fantasy racism and the genuine stuff that is discussed with FMA. And also with *gestures vaugely to the current state of the world* I know a lot of people can use rp to be an escape from that sort of stuff, so I’d feel especially bad if all I was doing was just reminding them of that exact thing.

And Dw, I didn’t think Parsley was literally being like “Ohoho the princess has such superior blood to the common folk!” It was more so the fact that for Ed it still hasn't fully clicked for him that this is a literal magic world (since at this point I think he’s still slightly convinced that the Herb Bros simply preformed an off shoot of alchemy to bring them here lmao) so he’s basing how Parsley and Basil use these religious terms on his own very limited understanding of abrahamic religions and their impact on discussions of discrimination, and that combined the association with blood/genetics is what would have led to the misunderstanding. If there’s one thing I love writing, it’s characters being so confidently wrong in their train of thought lmao

The Princess having a chronic illness that both affects her physically and mentally, that sways people's opinions about her made me realize how similar she is to Komaeda.

Now she potentially has a character she can relate to and find solace in because while her decease is a fantastical one and Komaeda's are real, there's a comfort of knowing she is around other people in similar situations like her. Possibly making her feel less isolated and able to talk with someone who understands the effects of chronic illness.

However, Komaeda might never admit his illnesses to the group. I do hope some characters catch on to him as it is unfortunate none of his classmates showed much understanding. Granted, Komaeda not talking about it didn't help with that but when has he ever been forward about anything? He spends most of the game being vague towards the love interest main character.

Sorry for the wait but Ed’s post is finally up! So fun fact but the track I used for Winry’s scene is Concerto, which in brotherhood is played during the scene in which Edward promises the next time Winry cries it’ll be out of joy. I thought it’d be fun to basically take that track and focus on the subtle kinda somber sound it has and basically flip its purpose right on its head. Also in general I’ve been using solely Brotherhood tracks for any Winry related scenes to hopefully kinda accentuate that emotional divide that’s there between her and Ed for a lil fun fact lol
