I agree! A cycle with a time limit would work best imo. Personally I was thinking we could give people about 3 days to respond (or in this case the entire weekend) in order to get the ball rolling, but I also don't mind waiting a week depending on everyone's schedules.

To throw in my two cents, for what it's worth, I do like some kind of cycle myself, especially when a group is large. When groups become smaller, if they do, I feel like things can be different so there is more freedom and people don't feel like they get restricted and others don't feel that they are being left behind

We'll see what happens after the weekend. If everyone happens to post by Monday, then we'll see if 3 days is really enough. I personally feel like 5 days to a week would be better, but who knows. That's why I'm asking for everyone to say what kind of time limit would be best for them so I can reach an average.

what i always find best is a middle ground; If character A and character B are separate from everybody else and not doing anything plot important, the rate those two post at doesnt make any difference. their date for tea doesnt affect anyone except them, so theyre not subject to the cycle.

if theyre doing this while everyone else is in the middle of combat, their date just conveniently takes as long as the battle takes.

the separate ones and the ones in the middle of combat are both mutually engaged

I have to agree with both sides of the argument tbh, since I've been on both ends before lol.

I think the timed cycle thing is best, or some variant of it. Say, maybe with the "rapid fire" groups, they get like, 2-3 posts per person before they need to stop and let the rest of the group catch up? In addition to the week-1.5 week cycle updates. I don't know just spit balling. Lol

Especially since we have such a large group, I feel it'll kill flow if we wait too long for cycles, since the cycles would end up being longer than if there was just 2-4 players in the rp. If that makes sense?

Making different posting rate allowances is usually a bad idea because you can't be sure how those posts might effect the greater rp scene in ways that one post per cycle wouldn't have, but the worst thing is allowing rule breaks. Once the time is set it should be followed. If it breaks even once, it leads to lot of people slowly getting used to the extra time and then poof goes the rp lol.

It doesn't help we are entering holiday season. It's going to be rough. So even though I like around 2-3 day limits, a week is more fair for this time of year.

To some extent it comes down to "are you leaving someone behind?" If the answer to that is yes then giving some time to said person would be nice. Like as someone who tends to need time to post, I'm not bothered if a few posts happen without me (referring to be tagged in the scene), but if it becomes a rapid fire fest and I'm not given time to get anything out then that would be unfair. Obviously this applies to everyone. Scenes completely unrelated to my character(s) don't need to wait of course and should move at a pace that those people are comfortable with. Main thing is to just be nice to those in your interactions and to communicate. I feel lack of communication hurts things pretty quickly

This really depends on group size though. Imo it's hard to find a perfect balance when everyone is meshed into one group because people on both ends (faster or slower) could suffer

thats exactly what im saying

of course, rn were just starting and literally everyone is together, so we should wait for everyone bc like. everyone is interacting with the same two vegetables. those vegetables should get to reply before we start branching off into different conversations that vary in pace.

I mean, either way I'm gonna wait for the next Herbs post, but it is good to be thinking of this ahead of time imo
I don't have an answer to it either, hence the spitballing of possible solutions that could also be adjusted to fit better. I don't know.

I. Just realized that pyralis and Ed have very similar color schemes. That was unintentional lmao

That's the thing; both sides of the argument are valid. That's why I say we should wait until after the weekend to see how everything goes. As for right now, I want to wait until at least 75% of the members of our RP have posted for their characters before writing for the B&P bros. Then, as we go on, we'll see if we need more or less time. Hopefully, as the RP goes on, we will gain a better understanding of each other's posting times.

On a completely unrelated note, seeing B&P referred to as "herbs" made me instantly think of them high asf on weed or something lmfao

Are. Are basil and parsley not the names of herbs tho? Lmao

I'll also try to post for Linkle. I see most of the people active here have posted, as I've counted 12 engaged RPers and 12 posts from different people. I think I'll write for Basil and Parsley soon too

Omg Winry was gonna go fix Ed’s auto mail she’s lugging a tool box and 03 Ed is there luckily not the Ed from her universe

Dhdjfjf it’s a shame Ed’s not currently in his red coat, rn his color palette is just a bunch of boring browns 😩 dhdjfjf I say that but it’s probably my favorite Ed outfit lmao
