Realistic or Modern Here's to the New Memories

Carmen glanced back on the trail, laughing some seeing Charlie coming up close to her, "Since when do we ride without helmets?" She pointed out, leaning over and pecking his cheek. She'd done everything they'd told her to, changed her diet, changed her lifestyle, everything to get better and althogh she'd lost all her hair and it was now her biggest point of insecurity, Charlie had continued to make her feel like the most beautiful woman on the planet. "I'm feeling good, you get all your work done?" she asked him, watching him some while they rode.

Jeff had gotten worse and worse at looking after himself. He was making sure that Lana was taken care of and to the best of his ability, but when it came to self care, he was lacking in all areas. He was stressed 24/7 with work and at home, barely ever had time to eat and he just wasn't himself at all. He'd come to pick up food for dinner for Lana for the week and wasn't paying attention at all to his surroundings until he bumped into another cart, about to apologise but sighed heavily seeing Max there "Hey... How you doing?" He muttered.

Max bit her lip hard watching him a bit "I'm um...I'm alright I guess." she said softly noticing how much thinner her looked "How are you?" she asked quietly before pulling her thin and lifeless hair into a pony tail giving a small sigh "How is Lana?"

Charlie chuckled some and smiled leaning over to kiss her cheek as well "Yup got it all done, and tonight is movie night. So be sure to pick out what you want and I'll handle the food." he said happily as he watched her. Though her appearance had changed due to hair and weight loss she was still as gorgeous as ever to him and he always made sure that she knew it.

"Ooh, look at you getting on top of things... Well don't forget we've got that suit fitting for you tomorrow for the premiere night." She reminded him. "And I'm thinking we pick a TV show instead... My attention span is like a goldfish at the moment." She laughed some, walking the mini trail with him to get back to the house, heading inside, "Oh and I was hoping to have Max over maybe... not tomorrow but the day after? She's just been lost without Jeff and she needs cheering up." She told him, heading to the kitchen to grav a drink.

Jeff shrugged some, looking her over seeing she looked awful as well, "She's fine, doing better in school finally and the constant tantrums have stopped... I get them once a week not once a day." He muttered, looking at the time, "I gotta go, good to see you though." He muttered and headed away from her. He missed her desperately in his life but he just didn't know how to even go about trying to talk to her about starting again

Max gave a small nod and a sad smile "Thats good to hear, yeah....yeah good to see you too." she said softly before she quickly went to check out. She missed him more than anything and seeing him there just made it all worse. She quickly dialed Carmen just needing to speak to someone and let out her heartache.

Charlie followed her all he way inside and gave a small nod smiling a bit "Yeah thats fine by me babe. Really sucks they didn't work out, they seemed like a really happy couple." he said giving a small shrug before he went to look at take out menus that she could eat from

Carmen nodded some and leaned into his side gently while she answered the phone, "Hey, your ears burning? We were just saying you should come over for dinner this week." She told her, moving away to go sit in the lounge.

Jeff finished up at the store and took it all home then got Lana from school and took her home too, heading into the kitchen once they got back and sat down to get some work done while she did her homework, "We'll do dinner in a couple hours okay?" He muttered, taking deep breaths to try and calm himself, his mind on a hundred things at once.

Max frowned some and cried quietly down the line "Carmen...I...I ran into him at the store...Carmen he looked so bad...and he just...Carmen what do I do?" she sobbed shaking her head some as she sat there in her car

Lana nodded some and sighed some putting the rest of her homework away. Max being away had been harder on her than her mother's death so far. She missed her more than anything and her dad starting scare her with how bad he was getting. She looked at him frowning more as she noticed how bad he was looking "Daddy lay down, you don't look good." she said quietly taking his hand and going to the couch

The rook had started spinning about an hour ago and he could barely see straight let alone walk anywhere now, feeling like he was getting sweaty. The last thing he ever wanted to do was scare his daughter but he couldn’t help it when the world turned sideways and the next thing he knew he’d collapsed and blacked out on the floor, his heart hammering in his chest.

carmen frowned some sighing quietly. “Go home, rub yourself a bath and think. Think about what you want and whether that’s jeff or not... max I gotta go but I’m always a call away alright? Your gonna get through this no matter what is meant to be alright?” She coaxed gently, eventually hanging up and sighed some, going back to Charlie and wrapped her arms around him, kissing his cheek

it wasn’t but a few minutes later when her phone rang again. “Hello is this Maxine? I’m calling from Memorial hospital, we have a Jeffrey Morgan here who’s got you listed as an emergency contact. He was brought in to us just a half hour ago with a suspected heart attack, we think you should come down maam so we can explain what’s going on.”

Max gave a small nod sighing heavily "Thanks Carmen." she said softly hanging up the phone. She answered when it rang again picking up "Hello? Yes this is she." She said going wide eyed when she heard everything and nodded some "I'll be right there." She said rushing to the hospital. When she got there she quickly rushed and up to the front desk

Charlie looked at Carmen raising an eyebrow at her "Everything okay?" He asked stroking her cheek gently and smiled wide at her

“Yeah she’s just... tryna get things worked out if she wants to be over him or not. What you making?” She asked him yawning some.

the receptionist listened to her and sent her with a nurse to Jeffs room to wait for him to wake up while the nurse explained that it had in fact been a major heart attack and they weren’t sure of his chances, leaving her to privacy until he eventually started coming around, looking over at her confused.

Max looked at him worriedly as he woke up taking a deep breath "Hey there....still had me as your emergency contact..." she whispered taking a deep breath "Lana is at Amber's." She told him quietly pushing some hair from his face "Jeff what happened?"

Charlie gave a small nod and smiled happily at her "New recipe I found for a dip, thought you'd like it. I've got Thai food coming soon too." He said happily

He frowned some watching her for a minute before he was able to get any words out. “I don’t know... I was... going to the couch... Lana told me... to lay down... said I look bad.... and I got up... but I think... I blacked out... I don’t remember.” He mumbled, trying to relax himself again as he stared at her.

she nodded slowly and looked up at him, chewing on her lip. “What kind of work do you have tomorrow?” She asked, not sure if he had a meeting with the publishers or not. She’d have to look at her diary to remember what his schedule was.

Max frowned more giving a small nod sighing heavily as she watched him some "Jeff....you look awful, whats been going on?" She asked quietly letting a few tears fall from all her worry and heart break seeing him like this.

Charlie shrugged some and sighed a bit "Um I gotta submit what I have done for look over and I think an interview." He said kissing her cheek gently

She nodded and smiled at him some, "Okie dokie.... I was gonna go get my nails done for the premiere next week." She murmured to him, "Then i got an appointment for a check up which will probably take a while so I'll call you when I'm done, see where you're at." She promised, kissing him softly and pulled him in close for a moment.

Jeff frowned just watching her. "Trying to.... keep it all... tigether." He grunted a little and squeezed her hand tiredly. "I miss you." He told her honestly and just watched her as much as he could, trying to stay awake

Charlie gave a nod and smiled happily holding her close to him kissing her back sighing happily "Mmm sounds good beautiful. Lets get going, go get the movie ready and I'll bring in the snacks." he said softly to her

Max gave a small nod letting a few more tears fall "I miss you too Jeff, more than anything." she whispered softly kissing his hand gently watching him more

He frowned watching her and just gently pulled on her hand for her to come closer. “Come home max... please...” he mumbled, drifting off to sleep.

carmen smiled watching him for a moment and nodded, pecking his cheek and going to get set up in the lounge, frowning for a moment once she picked the controls up and looked back to the kitchen “Charlie! I feel kinda funny.” She called to him, frowning still.

Max gave a small nod and kissed the top of his head gently "Okay babe, just rest." She whispered sighing some

Charlie frowned when he heard her and rushed to her "Carmen?!" He said worriedly holding her close "Babe whats wrong?"

He frowned some and just nodded, watching her until he fell asleep, still holding her hand tightly. By morning, one of his farm hands had arrived with Lana so that she could come see him and she walked in with the guy then looked over at Max, shocked for a moment until she ran over and hugged her tightly.

She frowned shaking her head a little, "I don't know.... I just... I feel funny." She slurred a little, leaning against him when it felt like all her energy was zapped in just a moment. "I'm not... in pain I just.... I feel really weird." She mumbled frowning "I'm gonna go to bed, I think I overdid it a bit today." She mumbled, thanking him for helping her up to their room, curling up under the covers and drifted off to sleep. She got up early in the morning, feeling a little better and headed downstairs to get some breakfast, hearing Charlie in his study, getting to make her way in there when she dropped to the floor, carrying her glass of juice, starting to seize up as the glass broke

Max hugged Lana tight when she came over letting a few tears fall and kissing the side of her head repeatedly "Oh Lana.....it is so good to see you." She said softly taking a deep breath and pulled away wiping her eyes some "Your dad is doing okay, just very tired."

Charlie nodded some and kissed her cheek gently "Alright babe, I'll clean everything up." He murmured softly frowning when he heard the glass break and got up to see what happened. He went wide eyed seeing her on the floor and quickly called 911 before he went to make sure she was safe

Carmen was in and out all the rest of the night and into the following morning, eventually coming around sometime after nine in the morning, flinching a little at the bright lights in the room and trying to work out where she was. The last thing she remembered was standing up to go to bed.

Lana frowned and held onto her tightly as possible sobbing into her shoulder. “I’m sorry Mommy! I don’t want you to go away! I miss you so much!” She cried into her arms. “I’m sorry I told you daddy hurt my mom, he didn’t do that I wanted you to go away but I was wrong!” She sobbed

Max held her close shaking her head some kissing the top of her head "No baby its okay I promise. I promise its okay." She said letting more tears fall as she watched the little girl cry "I'm here okay? I'm not going anywhere."

Charlie was asleep in the chair across from.her refusing to leave last night until she woke up the next morning. He twitched some and woke up looking over at Carmen and quickly rushing over seeing her awake

She frowned as she turned to look at him, squeezing his hand gently. It stayed quiet for a minute, still looking dazed. “What’s... What are we doing here?” She mumbled frowning.

jeff woke up to the sound of them both talking and looked over, reaching for lana to come closer. “Hey kiddo... good job getting daddy help.” He smiled at her some and looked to max again

Charlie frowned as he watched her "You had a seizure on your way to bed. They had to bring you in and run more tests." He said softly kissing her knuckles gently

Max watched them and smiled some as Lana scrambled onto the bed cuddling him close "He's alright Lana, right Jeff?" She said softly

She frowned watching him some. “I don’t remember that.... it’s probably just from the treatment.” She mumbled trying to not think the worst but she tugged on his hand anyway to pull him in close anyway.

he frowned some holding her to him, kissing her head. “It’s alright pumpkin, I’m not going anywhere.” He promised gently, glancing over at max tiredly and reached with his free hand to hold hers.

Charlie got up and layed with her giving a small nod "Yeah probably." He whispered keeping close to her and sighing heavily not wanting to think that she might be getting worse.

Max gave him a soft smile and took gis hand in hers "Thats right, we're not going anywhere." She said softly kissing his knuckles some as she scooted closer to him

Carmen frowned watching him some, resting her head against his shoulder, "Talk to me... It scares me when you go quiet like this." She murmured to him after an hour of sitting in silence.

Jeff sighed quietly when Lana finally left with Adam so he could take her to school and he looked over at Max again, "She told me a few days ago.... That she told you I'd been hitting Janet.... She said she told you cause she wanted me to herself again." he muttered
