Fantasy Hell: Casual Days

Lucifer shook his head and sighed as their spat continued. At least he was the one holding the sharp weapon, it seemed they weren't too far from body shots.

"It's a very symbolic piece." He told the gang, showing the goat head pentagram engraved in the handle. He brought it down to his palm and lightly but quickly slit into it. "A little blood goes along way with these things."

He walked back to the summoning circle and righted a couple candles that had fallen over, breathing out a flicker of flame to the wicks. Soon the circle was illuminated. putting pressure on his palm, he let the demon blood drip into a small puddle and with his finger wrote in it: MARA

It wasn't a portal that appear, rather it was like a window. In the apparition you could see the robed figure of a man wandering a darkening forest.

"Must be the man Mara possessed."

The figure slowed it's pace, then stood still scanning the environment. How long had he wandered around this woods?

"I think Mara's body may be tired," Satan added. The man hadn't made a move to continue on, "I think now is a good time to try to reach her Echnia. But be careful of what you say to her. I couldn't guess what she's planning to in this body or where she plans to go."

"Torva, please be hasty in returning this group to Hell to find this man's true soul and see what this is all about."
He said waving his hand to Nyx, Mark and Dex.

Torva let out a short sigh looking back at Satan "Of course, I'm stuck with the boring jobs, like always!" looking to the others he had to take back to hell; he guess that there really was no one else that could take his spot at the time and did what he was asked anyway. Waiting for the others to gather their bearings before heading off Torva assured them a safe rule for travel "Keep a clear mind; Or you might lose it forever hehe~" he waited for the others to give him the 'OK' to transport them back to hell and begin their search.

Tahaliston felt a rising in his stomach as he approached the front of the line for Hellbucks (guaranteed hot!) coffee. His thousand years of torment were nearly up. "Bill," said Tahaliston, rousing his friend from a meditative stupor "The line's moving again."

"Would you look at that," Bill said dozily, a gentle minetaur. He stretched his expansive chest and huffed a sigh. "I suppose you'll be wanting your old job back once this is over."

"With my very soul," said Tahaliston, and Bill chuckled appreciatively. A demon's joke.

"You've had about eight hundred years to think about it Bill," said Tahaliston. "Can you get me an audience with the man downstairs?"

Bill's gaze shifted and, reluctantly, he produced a charred invitation from the pocket of his khakis. "They'll have my left hand for this, but you've been a good friend, Hal. And there's a chance he's in a good mood."

It was an invitation to a Halloween rave.

"It fluttered down one of the garbage chutes just the other millenium, and it's coming up. In fact, it should have started just a few days ago, but if I know Satan, he's barely getting warmed up."

"I could kiss you, Bill." said Tahaliston. "You won't regret this." He stepped out of the line just as his turn came up and strode towards the elevators.

"Do you want me to get you anything?" Asked Bill, "For later?"

"If I ever see this level of Hell again, Bill, I'm going to need something stronger than coffee." Tahaliston called over his shoulder, giddy like only a man finished with a thousand years of torment can feel.

Nyx didn't really know what then happened next. They drove so fast back to Satan's place. Discovered one of them was called into the human world and she was excited she was back.

"I'm home! I'm actually back, I, "then she stopped, she was one of the ones returning to Hell. And she growled.

"I refuse to return, Mark, Dex? Do I have to, I miss Earth already, I only died a few hours or so ago? My funeral?" Nyx asked with a sob in her voice.

Boss's Men

Dex bit his lip hesitantly as Mark tried to comfort Nyx..

"Er... If anything you gotta ask
that guy." Dex said, pointing at Satan. Being his henchmen, they never tried to question Satan's command and simply endured what they had to. They shoveled up corpses, kidnapped folk, scrubbed bloody walls, and why? It was all in the line of duty.

"The worst he could say is no." Mark added with a shrug, "Probably."

From a distance, the light rustling in the bushes was starting to be audible enough for Mara to notice, However, she was getting rather drowsy, so she decided to ignore it. Gradually, the fatigue crept over her body. She was starting to feel too unfunctional to regret killing a clan of humans. But the good thing was she was going to meet most of them in Hell, where they probably wanted to be. Good for them, she thought.

She was feeling off--oddly weak, and peaceful. It must be the scenery...

Her eyelids were starting to get heavy. Mara let herself drift to sleep.

Tahaliston arrived in the deepest circle of Hell and stepped off the elevator. They were going for the classic look down here-- real sinners, real torment. Racks and iron maidens and boiling lakes of fire. He stepped over someones severed left arm, tallied with a thousand days of torment. Tahaliston was wary of looking too much like a tourist, but demons, on the whole, could be reasonable to other demons. He combed his hair back and straightened his horns. "Excuse me," he said, walking towards a dense cluster of demons, and clumsily adopting the slang he had seen in movies about the deepest circle of Hell. "Can you tell me where the party's at?"

Nyx looked over at Satan and shrugged. "His decisions final though, isn't it? There's no point arguing, let's just go," she said with half a smile, no light in her eyes. Home? Was that hell? Or did she just not have one?
