I looked at Miller, having the sense to paint embarrassment on my face for the fact that the flame that was supposed to come out of the tip of the cigarette instead blew up the roll. Although, that could make for a mischievous way to take out enemies...
I shook out such thoughts out of my mind, as Miller gave her verbal acceptance to my request to join her Fireteam. "Thank you, and uhh..." I turned towards the person scavenging whose cigarette I blew up moments ago, hand on the back of my head, "Sorry about your cig."
Just then, I heard a yell coming from the reactor, sounding like Joachim, though muffled or censored by middleman censoring software in my earpiece, which I had no reason to disbelieve, and then an unsure response to Miller's message. Sounds like someone is also pissed about the possible retreat order. Glad I'm not the only one, but it's good to make sure he's actually doing okay and not taking more blows from more enemies. "You okay there Joe?"
Though we were inside the relatively soundproof hangar, plus the vacuum of space outside, I was surprised to hear fighters on a fly-by maneuver, most likely to signify that they're still alive or that reinforcements have come.
