dark brown-copper; her natural colour is a few shades darker, though she dyed it on her mother's urgency. it falls in loose curls after her perm, resting against her collarbones, though it goes just below her shoulder blades when she straightens it. she rarely does.
build
she's never been particularly curvy, falling more on the slim, petite side.
ye-won is, without a doubt, more on the introverted side. she's the kind to prefer floating underneath the radar, rarely finding the need to really speak up unless it's something she feels strongly against. she's definitely on the shyer side, despite her having no shortage of friends, though that's attributed more to her natural endearment from her nice disposition. ye-won is compassionate and greatly tolerant, which is why she so quickly gets into people's good graces, even if they're often the ones carrying the conversations. she doesn't mind just listening, though her gentle nature shouldn't be taken for spinelessness. ye-won's not bull-headed, but she's not afraid to stand her ground. with how forceful some of the boys had been, she'd have dated at least several more times if she hadn't the backbone to say no. ye-won is adamant and resolute when it comes to her values and beliefs, and it's the one thing she doesn't ever budge on. ironically, however, the same girl is just as indecisive as she is stubborn, and it's her decision not to have a particularly strong opinion on most matters that leads others to believe she's a pushover. she's alright at making friends, for the most part, but tends to be more reserved when it comes to deeper thoughts or more private matters. it may seem difficult to get close to her because of this, but show enough sincerity and persistence and it won't be long before she sees you as a proper friend too.
as a friend and a colleague, ye-won proves time and time again to be reliable and hard-working. the one who's always punctual, the one who would never go back on a promise, and the one who would stick with you through thick and thin. sure, she's a little scatter-brained, but you know that she's always trying her best with anything she sets out to do. creative and adaptable, she's full of bright ideas, though her timidness occasionally deters her from sharing or executing them. ye-won has some trouble completely separating her emotions from her work and can take criticism far too personally. it doesn't result in defensiveness but rather insecurity, and she's the epitome of "once bitten, twice shy", where a bad experience could lead her to avoid it entirely in the future, for fear of the same thing repeating itself.
her ears get super red whenever she's flustered, almost always lets out some sort of noise whenever she's surprised, covers her mouth when she laughs, uncannily sleeps as quiet and as still as a dead person, sets three alarms, has bad alcohol tolerance

once upon a time, or sometime in the joseon era
there were two sisters who loved each other dearly. the older was a talented shaman inheriting a legacy of great power, and the younger was a fair maiden who dreamed of a life beyond sprinkling rice and crooning to disturbed spirits. her sister had always warned her of the dangers of people, for they were far more dangerous than any undead they would encounter, but the younger loved love, along with the whole idea of it. when she fell for her a young man in the village with a particularly brilliant smile, the older objected immediately. her words went in one ear and out the other, and when the shaman discovered her sister's plans to elope with her new lover, she cast a spell on him to test his sincerity: how true would your love be if you could have anyone in the world? simply put, he failed horrendously, and it was the younger who enacted vengeance by cursing the rest of his bloodline with the same power, declaring that they'd never be able to truly find love.
and then, in the 1900s
it took them a good few centuries or so before they thought to seek out a shaman about the curse that passed on from generation to generation. the family sought a shaman that's own bloodline would become intertwined with theirs (the family shaman, they called it), and finally discovered the existence of a "jinx", one that would nullify their powers as long as it was adhered to. she could not provide them any information on curing the curse, offering that it may end if the original curse's grudge was fulfilled.

kim mi-young marries her high school sweetheart, heo sang-ho. mi-young is a model that's slowly rising in popularity, making full use of her ability. sang-ho is seemingly immune to her powers, though he ensures her that he loves her very much regardless. they honeymoon in italy at mi-young's request, not that it's particularly relevant.
september 18th, 2001
mi-young gives birth to her one and only beloved daughter, and her and her husband name her ye-won, meaning "clever and beautiful". ye-won is undisputedly a very pretty baby, and she was very popular with the nurses. mi-young didn't know if she was to attribute it to her daughter's possible inheritance of the curse or her great genes. both were alright in her book.
march 19th, 2007
ye-won's first day of school was otherwise uneventful, save for an almost excessive amount of attention from her peers, in particularly the male ones during class. she received a grand total of 13 confessions in the coming week, cementing her reputation as the campus rose, a title she very much did not want. when her mother heard wind of it, it was undeniable that the curse had not skipped ye-won. she took ye-won to the family shaman, who confirmed her suspicions and advised ye-won to try different types of clothing. it seemed her jinx would have something to do with that.
may 21st, 2007
up until this day, ye-won had picked up wearing sunglasses in school after her dad advising her to do so when she struggled to quell the growing attention. it was the first day she wore the wrong socks to school, one white and one a pale blue, but it was the first day she didn't get any star-struck looks, no sudden confessions of love. she'd come home overjoyed with her discovery, and when she tried the same odd little stylistic choice for the rest of the week and the weeks after, ye-won was elated to finally learn of her jinx.
november 2nd, 2013
when a boy she had started to develop a crush on asks her out, ye-won says yes very enthusiastically. he breaks up with her a week after, leaving her heartbroken and doubtful about whether her power can ever actually be used for romance. her mother advises her to just use it to be popular, but her father tells her that she'll find someone who'll love her even after the effects of her curse have worn off on him. it's nice to hear, but ye-won decides anyways that she'll just avoid dating for now. the best cure for heartbreak is to just not indulge in romance at all, right?
june 5th, 2017
the heo family make the big move from daegu to seoul, and ye-won transfers to a new school. her first day of school goes great, but her second goes a little worse when she somehow manages to forget to mismatch her socks. her teacher insists she takes off her emergency sunglasses in class, and ye-won spends a good part of the afternoon avoiding eye contact and trying to dodge conversation from random boys. one boy from the next class over seems particularly persistent, much to ye-won's dismay.
june 10th, 2017
ye-won goes with her parents to meet their new next door neighbours, only to find the boy from school sitting opposite her on the dinner table. she looks down. her socks are still on. everything was fine. it would wear off in a week or so. he pesters her from the neighbouring balcony that night, and ye-won strikes up a conversation with him. he's pretty nice, if you look past the fact that he's very forward. he asks her to be his girlfriend, an proposal she gently declines, then offers to walk her to school the next morning. she accepts.
june 13th, 2017
it was supposed to wear off in a week or so, and ye-won thought she was being careful, but she clearly wasn't. she spoke to him once more over their balconies while barefoot. she realises belatedly, and when he greets her the next morning with his daily "thought about going out with me yet?", ye-won resolves to be even more careful.
june 15th, 2017
didn't work. he showed up unannounced at her door with some cookies from his mother and there was no way they didn't make eye contact. he points out the following day on the way back from school that she's always wearing the wrong socks. ye-won asks if he'd like her any less if she wore matching socks. he gives her a funny look. "of course not."
july 27th, 2017
ye-won's gotten too comfortable around him. not that she was like, closed off, or anything, but she seems to keep refreshing her hold on him without even realising. it's been nearly a month since they've met, and she's gotten far too used to his presence around her. is she allowed to be a little selfish? ye-won would like a nice friend, especially since her occasional appearance in school in a pair of shades have earned her the moniker "sunglasses girl". it's not bad, but it's not great either. also, she hated wearing socks out onto the balcony. it was wet sometimes, and nobody likes wet socks.
march 21st, 2018
ye-won gets a new homeroom teacher who tells her off one day when she shows up to school in sunglasses, despite her protests about health concerns. yeah, it was false, but he would've been better off sending her home rather than making her take them off, threatening a suspension otherwise. a suspension! her mother intervened, and here's a troubling little dilemma: is it worse for your teacher to ask your mother if she's single or overhearing your schoolmate describing her as "hot"? the answer is both, and ye-won and her father both agreed he would be on meet-the-parent duty for the rest of high school. her mother would just have to be content being the final, absolute last, never-to-be-used otherwise, resort.
march 23rd, 2018
by some absurd chance, ye-won is elected class president. she'd agreed to run on a whim after minseo very proudly nominated her, but she wasn't expecting that no one else in the class had any semblance of desire to be president. she's alright with it, though, if no one else wants to do it.
november 14th, 2019
ye-won essentially finishes high school, after taking the csat. it was a hard few months, but she's made it. her scores released after aren't anything to brag about, but she's done well enough to get into university. eui-joon and her end up applying and being admitted into the same one. it wasn't planned, at least, not to her knowledge, but it's neither prestigious nor infamous. that's good enough for her.

power
ye-won's power, in essence, makes any person who is attracted to her gender become infatuated with her if they make eye contact for at least 3 seconds. the effects of her ability seems to last for about a week, depending on the extent of attractiveness. as far as she can tell, interactions that may propagate the feelings will add to the length of the ability's effects, and the same is true for interactions that may cause infatuation to deteriorate. it's why most boys rarely try again after the first failed confession, with eui-joon being the lone exception.
the effects of the ability are usually very noticeable, ranging from an immediate interest in her current wellbeing, requests for her number to shy blushes and small smiles. ye-won has yet to meet someone who hasn't had a reaction to her ability, and she believes it'll cause a reaction in just about everyone if they aren't immune, so to speak.
the only way for her to control it is to make sure she has her jinx. ye-won's jinx is wearing mismatched socks, and any attempt to cheat the deities (she's tried doodling on a sock and taking one off) don't seem to work. she's tried just about everything. the only other way to negate the effects of the ability is to avoid making eye contact. it's why ye-won keeps a pair of emergency sunglasses with her at all times for occasions when she accidentally wears matching socks (or no socks at all). her ability is empowered when at least one of the parties are inebriated, whether it's her or the person she's looking at. well, ye-won's yet to find that one out, but it may be powerful enough to even negate her jinx.
relationships.
kim mi-young
a veteran supermodel that barely looks a day past 30, mi-young's most often mistaken as ye-won's older sister, much to the younger's chagrin. she views their shared power as a blessing rather than a curse, and though her stunning features and impeccable work ethic played a part too, it's undeniable that she got a little divine help for her popularity today; rumours say that you'll fall in love with her in 3 seconds, which is way too close to the truth. mi-young adores her daughter and regularly showers her with affection, though ye-won usually feels embarrassment rather than gratitude whenever her mother intervenes. mi-young's jinx is wearing a ring.
heo sung-ho
on the other hand, ye-won's definitely feels closer in personality to her father, a level-headed software engineer that somehow caught mi-young's heart. ye-won never really talks to him about her feelings (that's for mum) but she gets the feeling that they're on the same wavelength, even without words. he's her go-to for advice and his romance with her mother is what shaped ye-won's perspective on love. his immunity to their ability has given her the notion that she's to seek out someone similar.
han minseo
ye-won's high school deskmate and closest friend, aside from eui-joon. they first met because their teacher had arranged them by name; both 'han' and 'heo' start with h, and minseo struck up conversation almost immediately. she's loud, bubbly and a little overbearing, but it complemented ye-won's softer personality well. the two were inseparable back then, close to the point that ye-won nearly (keyword: nearly) told her about her stupid curse after she'd encouraged her for the umpteenth time to just date the boy who'd been chasing her for what felt like ages. they've gone to different universities, but minseo has promised to meet up often.
song eui-joon
ah, he's one of her closest friends, she supposes? as much as she still can't bring herself to agree to date him despite his persistence, eui-joon means a lot to her, as a friend, at least. they've grown close over the past two years, and she's really gotten used to having him around. ye-won's happy they're in the same university, but maybe it'll be now that he gets over her.
SHAUN - WAY BACK HOME baby, you're my way back home...
Appearance
Height: 186 cm | 6'1"
Weight: 80 kg | 176lbs
Hair: Naturally wavy hair, the same color as his eyes, that often falls in a casual, woke-up-like-this sort of style. He doesn't put much effort in it except for occasionally styling it when there are certain school & family events, and even then not nearly as much as he maybe should. Eui-Joon just doesn't like messing with his hair too much; he thinks it's fine as it is.
Face Claim: Song Kang
Build: It goes without saying that Eui-Joon is tall, enough to tower over most of a street's population while walking down it. He's also on the leaner side of the spectrum, but can't be mistaken for being skinny, with broad shoulders and fairly obvious tone to his muscle thanks to having grown up loving sports. He's the type to both gain and lose weight easily, so there were definitely parts of his life when he was slightly more or less athletic-looking than he is now. But it's safe to say that since he was eighteen or so, his figure and proportions have mostly freeze-framed at their most aesthetically pleasing.
Mods: Eui-Joon has no piercings or tattoos. He's never actually thought about getting either, thus far. They look cool, for sure, but he isn't sure they'd suit him all that much.
Personality: Song Eui-Joon has never had a day in his life that was spent involuntarily alone. That much is clear to see, even if you don't know him at all, from the sheer popularity he possesses among his peers and adults alike, whether in school or around his neighborhood. Defined by an effortless sort of charm, Eui-Joon seems to float through life like a morning breeze, being a refreshingly calm, open character. Outgoing but relaxed, humorous but tactful, assertive but understanding β his persona strikes a careful balance between many extremes, making him easy to get along with for pretty much anyone.
That doesn't mean, however, that Eui-Joon has no edge. A stubborn combination of idealist and perfectionist, he often has a very specific and certain idea of what he wants to do, and it's difficult for anyone to persuade him off the path he sets for himself. Wilful and obstinate, Eui-Joon is the type to keep up his ever polite mannerisms and a gentle smile while doing whatever the hell he wants to even despite opposing opinions.
In addition, he is someone who is very aware of what others think of him. Though too kind and genuine a person to use that as a tool, it inevitably only adds to his already existing confidence and forthrightness. That, combined with his impulsive nature, makes it easy to mistake him as being fickle or even sly, sometimes. The reality is contrary β Eui-Joon is trusting and loyal, almost to a fault, being far from calculating even when it would perhaps serve him better to be so.

History
Unknown Date, Long Ago Past, Joseon
A powerful shaman watched her beautiful, beloved younger sister fall for scum and, when no amount of words could persuade the naive girl against her love, decided to take action instead. She cast a spell, that anyone who laid eyes on her sister's lover would begin to feel the same way the girl did for him. It was a test of faith β was she truly his first choice, his one & only as he claimed she was? Even if the whole world wanted him, would he still be hers alone?
The answer was a heartrendingly straightforward negative. The man wasted no time at all to indulge in his newfound possibilities, his proclamations of adoration gone like smoke and all his promises forgotten. The elder shaman succeeded in her quest to show her sister the truth, but never imagined that in moment of heartbroken rage, the scorned girl would unleash a terrible curse on the traitor: that he, and every generation after to carry his treacherous blood, would forever remain unable to distinguish between true love and artificial desire.
Late 1990s, Incheon, South Korea
Song Ha-Min, a young doctor too focused on his job to be dating, was dragged along by his worried mother to get his future love life predicted and blessed. And blessed it was, when he realized the new, famous shaman whom all the neighborhood ahjummas were talking about was, to his surprise, a woman around his age β a stunning one. Sure, she was a little weird, with her old-wise-witch-like tendencies and choice of career path. But, Jang Ha-Yeon was also the love of his life, and it didn't long for him to convince her the vice versa.
Though people occasionally comment on what an odd pairing they make β a cool-as-cucumber surgeon and a cheerful, flighty shaman β the duo had as perfect a romance as realistically possible. Three years and one ridiculously romantic candlelight proposal (that the man is still extremely proud of) later, the pair got married and moved away together to Seoul to start their own family.
Early 2000s, Seoul, South Korea
Song Eui-Joon was born late one night to a tired but ecstatic mother and a father who, for all his usual calm, was about ready to faint from emotion. It had been a hard pregnancy, and that made their baby seem all the more like an invaluable treasure. Eui-Joon grew up in a very loving, bustling home, and inevitably took on the characteristics of his surroundings to become a playful, bubbly child with an almost worrying lack of fear.
For the first few years of his life, his family moved around pretty often, trying to find a place that suited them best. Thanks to that, Eui-Joon quickly became adept at making new friends. By the time they settled down in one small, peaceful neighborhood, he was in middle school, around the time when romance and popularity began to matter, Eui-Joon had become good enough at socializing to take the throne as the single most well-liked student on campus off nothing but, well, likeability.
2017, Seoul, South Korea
One average morning, his father casually comments that the house next to theirs had new people moving in while taking a sip of coffee. Oh, cool, was Eui-Joon's only sentiment toward it, too busy reading through his notes one last time for the sudden, late-notice English pop quiz. As he comes back home from school that day, though, he belatedly spotted a girl in the same uniform as him entering that house and realized the "cute new girl" from his friend's class was now his neighbor.
The next morning, he left late and didn't get a chance to greet the girl, so he decided to approach her at lunch instead. He heard something about her wearing sunglasses to school that morning but figured, well, people have personal preferences. He tried to talk to her, only to get completely ignored, much to his confusion. He tried again around when school was ending, since they were heading back in the same direction. Again, a failure to even meet her eyes.
Of course, it wasn't like Eui-Joon expected everybody to like him or something, but he had to admit getting such a cold shoulder was a dumbfounding first for him. Did she have something against him? Did he offend her somehow? Or was she just extremely, painfully shy? He spent a good part of that week trying to understand her and found himself thinking she was kind of adorable.
A few days later, her family came over for dinner and she looked surprised to see him. Surprised. Like she hadn't noticed until that very moment. Did he have that little of a presence? Feeling oddly competitive about it and unwilling to admit defeat, he tried once again to talk to her from their adjacent balconies. They finally managed to hold a proper conversation that day, and Eui-Joon surprised even himself by asking her out. He gets rejected, of course, but somehow that only made him like her more.
The months following that late night conversation was spent with them growing gradually closer. Eui-Joon began to make a habit of asking her to date him almost on the daily. At first, he was mostly joking and not expecting anything out of it. But as time passed, he started to genuinely fall for her. Sure, she had odd habits β like never wearing matching socks β and said the weirdest things sometimes β like asking if he would have any less of a crush on her if she did wear matching socks, a question he has yet to understand to this day β but even those things became cute in his eyes the more time he spent with her.
His confessions got increasingly serious, but her answer was as certain and firm as always. It got occasionally disheartening, but he became used to it. Eui-Joon spent the entire rest of his high school life chasing after Heo Ye-Won, probably racking up some sort of record for the total number of times rejected in two years along the way. He gave out plenty rejections of his own, too, to every girl brave enough to confess to him despite his famously undying crush on Ye-Won, earning himself a reputation as a heartbreaker despite having only ever dated one girl in his first year.
Current Time, Seoul, South Korea
Eui-Joon graduated with fairly impressive grades, but decided against going to any of the major universities in favor of one with the exact course he wanted to join. Ye-Won getting into the same university, despite their vastly different majors, was a happy coincidence, but he hasn't much time to celebrate it yet. He's been busy with helping a friend out for a performance, helping his mom set up her new shop, and being dragged along to group dates by his friends' mandate that he gets over his too-long crush for a new start in university.
With the first day of freshman orientation finally starting though, it will hopefully mark the start of a peaceful few days.

ye-won's definitely feels closer in personality to her father, a level-headed software engineer that somehow caught mi-young's heart. though she rarely talks to him about her feelings (that's for mumβ he's the "hands-off till you need me" type), she gets the feeling that they're on the same wavelength even without words. ye-won doesn't often tell him about every bit of her day, but when it comes to seeking out advice or solutions, he's her go-to for a perspective she usually finds most helpful. it's like he always knows the right thing to say. despite his usual rationality, he's quite fiercely protective of his wife and daughter, which is why he's never had a good impression on eui-joon. his romance with her mother is what shaped ye-won's perspective on love, and his immunity to their ability has given her the notion that she's to seek out someone similar, in physicality, if not personality.

Jang Ha-yeon
eui-joon's mother | fc: kim hee-sun
a shaman who is quite famous in her line of work β by which it means her services cost a rather ridiculous amount of money, and a great portion of her clientele are rich housewives hoping to get anti-cheating charms for their husbands. though she puts on an oh-so mysterious image while working, ha-yeon is really a fiery, vivacious woman who is as generous with her affections as she is with its antonyms. she used to be very slightly overprotective of eui-joon when he was younger, but has steadily chilled out over the years, enough to now be called a fairly liberal parent. the mother-son duo get along great either way, thanks to eui-joon having learnt quickly to just smile through her frequent nagging and put a stop to it by acting cute at the right time.
Song Ha-min
eui-joon's father | fc: yoo ji-tae
ha-min is an experienced neurosurgeon, who often comes off as charismatic but quiet and serious upon first meeting. however, the only way that he can actually be considered reserved, once you get to know him, is if you set his wife as the standard for not. though it's not noticeable on the surface, eui-joon and his father share a lot of similarities, from their sense of humor to, apparently, their taste in romantic partners. eui-joon trusts and respects both his parents, but definitely opens more about his personal life and emotions to his father, both because he feels that the man understands him more than he does himself and because his dad is much less prone to worrying his head off.

joon-jae and eui-joon have been friends since middle school, though they only grew as close as they are now in junior year of high school after planning a school event together. the two share a lot of the same interests, whether in sports or in music, but the one topic they can't agree on for the life of them is romance. jae is probably the biggest advocator of eui-joon getting over ye-won, and has tried in many different ways to make that happen β he thought that he's succeeded with reika. his disappointment when eui-joon friendzoned that cutie for the sake of his forever unrequited crush? enormous.

Oh Soo-young
ye-won's newest friend | fc: kim seul gi
soo-young and ye-won were paired up during the first day of orientation, and though their interactions started off a little cold, as soon as soo-young got past the initial awkwardness, ye-won found out just how talkative the other girl was. soo-young majors in asian history, so the two don't exactly have mirrored schedules, but she seems to be omnipresent and omniscient. the girl's a huge gossip, and ye-won doesn't even want to know where she gets all of her info from. if she didn't know any better, she'd suspect soo-young was a mythical creature of some sort.
Jung Hye-jin
ye-won's senior | fc: lee joo woo
hye-jin has always seemed the kindest of the seniors because she's the only one willing to entertain the newcomers and bring them up to speed with everything that's going on. she's a third-year korean major that's strong-willed, highly argumentative, quick to anger but also generally very forgiving. she's gotten into fights because of it, but she (mostly) comes from a good place. hye-jin's the first to speak up against anything she sees as unjust, and is especially ruthless towards seniors who use their age to take advantage of younger students. she's almost intimidatingly loud, and her jokes come off in a way that make you half-scared that she's being serious. after all, as the leader of the taekwondo club, she's one of the ones you don't want to mess with.
Park Ji-hoon
ye-won's classmate | fc: kim myung jun
a first-year korean history major who has proclaimed himself the next "kwon do-young". he toes the line between annoying and funny to the point that he sometimes doesn't realise when he's crossed over into either territory, much to the irritation of those around him. you kind of tell he cares, though? in his own way. nosy, egotistical, but endearing like your little brother that you just wish you could strangle sometimes. ji-hoon and ye-won share almost all their classes together, so she'll be seeing a lot of him, especially since him and soo-young have known each other since kindergarten. they're always butting heads.
Kim Jin-ah
eui-joon's senior | fc: kim so-hee
jin-ah is often viewed as lee yun-hee's sidekick, though she proves herself to be a sweet girl when you get to know her, if just a little gossipy at times. she was the one to give her year's freshman speech from their faculty, despite living up to her air-headed image otherwise, and is generally just very knowledgeable about the school, so she's been a lot of help to eui-joon & his class the past week. the only downside to hanging out with her is that yun-hee often comes as a mandatory add-on, in eui-joon's opinion; despite or, perhaps, partly because of this, jin-ah's very popular among the freshmen. she's probably the senior eui-joon's closest to currently.
Gong Yoo-bin
eui-joon's friend & classmate| fc: kim do-wan
if you saw yoo-bin & eui-joon at the end of their first day of orientation, you'd think they've been friends forever, even though they only met that morning. yoo-bin was the one to enthusiastically approach eui-joon from out of nowhere, asking for a picture together. apparently the story goes that his sister follows eui-joon's social media β by the boy's words, he's her "favorite ulzzang" β and the greatest joy in yoo-bin's life is getting one over her, hence why he needed that selfie. both of them are relaxed & open sorts, so it's no surprise they became fast friends. yoo-bin is loud, energetic, and the definition of not overthinking things β even occasionally crossing the line into not thinking enough, especially when it comes to interactions with people β making him a rather divisive character despite his friendliness. you either love him or hate him, with very few in-betweens.

Park-Aoi Reika
ye-won's dormmate & eui-joon's new friend | fc: araki yuko
reika is a half-korean exchange student from japan studying art history. she & eui-joon met even before university started at a group blind date organized by joon-jae. they found out they were going to the same school, exchanged numbers and have been keeping in fairly close contact since. eui-joon is aware of her interest in him and hence has tried to keep a clear distance between them β unfortunately, her shy, sweet way of approaching him makes it more than a little difficult to reject her requests, much less be cold to her. reika & ye-won also know each other through staying in neighboring rooms of the same dorm.
Kwon Do-young
ye-won's crush | fc: lee jongwon
lovingly dubbed the prince of the arts faculty, do-young is widely regarded to be the most attractive boy in his year, though much of his popularity also stems from his polite nature. he's amiable with everyone and also great at studies, so there's no surprise as to why everyone wants to be friendly with him. nothing seems to faze the guy, and his default expression is a small, easygoing smile that rarely leaves his face. the very fact that he's the only one able to control shi-woo speaks volumes of his patience, but he's otherwise known to be mature and chivalrous. what a lad! he majors in literature but has recently joined the first-years in korean history to gain some extra knowledge for his planned research study, on his professor's advice.
bastards
just people we hate lol
Bang Shi-woo
ye-won's faculty senior| fc: park sun-ho
shi-woo is one of the oldest members of the korean history faculty and has quite a reputation for taking advantage of that fact. has spent every faculty gathering since he became a senior cornering freshmen into drinking and bothering the prettier girls, presumably using some elementary school method of flirting. an aggressive sort of guy who thinks he's the shit, and wins every argument by exasperating the hell out of anyone trying to talk sense into his thick head until they give up. has a nasty habit of holding grudges, which is why juniors are often warned by his nicer batch-mates just to grit their teeth and tolerate him for the few hours, especially the girls. he's known to be unforgiving in the crass rumours he spreads, and no matter how untrue, can end up incredibly damaging. openly pines for yunhee, though his advances are mostly rebuffed with disgust. doesn't stop him from being a simp for her.
Lee Yun-hee
eui-joon's faculty senior & campus belle | fc: im jin-ah
an architecture major who specialises in interior design, yun-hee's title as the prettiest person on campus may be self-elected but it's rarely disputed. the third-year is well aware of her beauty and uses it to get her way, more often than not stepping on others in the process. the strongest form of karma against her is her repeated failure in courting the boys she chooses to pursue, most famously the arts faculty's idol, kwon do-young, though it seems to have done nothing to curb her wealth of confidence. she is, however, notorious for blaming other girls for her rejection, and tends to be particularly cruel to anyone she perceives as competition.
Seo Hyuk
a necessary input in all bastard categories | fc: evan lin
