the optimist
Suddenly the same hands that had picked her up moments ago that had felt safe and comforting, now felt cold and unbearable. She wanted to rip herself away from him, she could tell just from his eyes he wasn't telling the whole truth, there was so much more he was hiding, something she knew she wouldn't be able to pull out of him with ease. Something she knew had hurt her best friend. That was the last thing she ever wanted to do. She came here, made Kat and Liana come for the sake of it being her first time and she wanted to be with her friends, but now she wished she never came…never dragged them here.
“Don't touch me” she blew off his hand stepping away from him and shaking her head, “I get it Nico I was late, I get it I didn't send you a message about where I was, if I was coming or not…but you didn't send me a message either…” she said, holding out her phone as if to emphasize the mistake had also made.
“You just could have asked…and” she looked at the bottle in his hands then his eyes, “and you conveniently went with my best friend to just have a drink” she walked up to him pointing an angered finger at his chest, “do you think im stupid!?! I wasn't born yesterday Nico! I get it this” she moved her fingers between them “this is new to me and I don't know the first thing about what it means to fall in love and to trust someone…but I know when my best friend shoves a bottle in your chest like that. It's not over just some silly problem like forgetting to wait around” She wondered if the same sweet lines hed used on her, hed used on Kat, she wondered if she wasn't the only one…she wondered if she was just another one of the many girls he was around…she wondered if she was ever special to him…but Addison knew, shed never be special to anyone. She was a fool to believe otherwise.
Her green eyes looked into his, the ones that were always so kind and joyful looked to be filled with anger, and an undertone of…hurt. “I don't know what you said or did to Kat but you screwed her over and me over…and you're a damn fool and jerk for that. I may not be worth much, I may not look as pretty as perfect as all the other girls, I may not smile bright enough, I may not say enough, I may not act perfect enough and that's okay…but Kat” She shook her head, “she's someone you never want to lose, she's the person that's always there, a shoulder to lean on, she barries herself in school work to prove to the world she's something when in reality she never needs to prove anything. Because just her being in this world is something every damn person should be grateful about. Because no one in this world will ever be half the person she is…and you hurt her.”
“You hurt me…” Addison mumbled her eyes seemed glossy on the edge of turning to tears, “im stupid for trusting you…for talking to you…you're just some drunk heartless fool…and I fell for it…guess that says a lot about me huh?” she didn't give him a chance to talk, not wanting his words to get to her, instead she turned around and tried to find Kat.
Through the crowd running into people and bumping into them, she suddenly wished for them all to disappear, she wished the day would have been different. A part of her wished she never came, and never told the others to come either…but the biggest part of her hoped she wouldn't lose Kat.
Kat.
Her eyes had found Liana and Kat, and the eyes that had filled with tears had vanished, shed pushed a big bright smile on her lips. The one she always had that seemed to fill the room with sunlight, that was her job to be positive in a world so dark and lonely. She made her way over with a slight skip in her step as if nothing had happened. She was good at that. Pretending the world was okay, it was her specialty.
“Hey guys!” Addison walked over, “I'd been looking all over for you guys!”
