Personality: Katie is a happy, well adjusted kid. She never really had any problems making friends wherever she went, and has pretty much been super social her whole like. She’s very charismatic and bubbly. She loves to joke around with her friends, and she loves to tease them. She’s a bit cocky and sometimes overly self-confident and occasionally overestimates her own abilities. It isn’t unheard of for Kate to be a bit arrogant, either.

History: Katie has had an exceedingly average life. Both her parents had good jobs, so she had it a bit easier than most. She was involved in every activity under the sun as a child, but she only ended up taking to soccer and cheerleading. It was Kate’s older sister who told her about the spooky history of their sleepy town. While Kate never believed her sister’s stories, she loved to hear about them. It’s what made her so interested in all things scary. With this love of things that go bump in the night, Katie ended up making a wonderful group of friends with the same creepy passions.
Family: Kate is a middle child. She has one older sister, one older brother, and two twin younger sisters. Her both of her parents are doctors at the local hospital. Since their hours are erratic, Kate takes advantage of this to stay out fairly often. They have 3 dogs, which the responsibly of care usually falls on Kate. Personality: Jace often appears to be a calm and collected boy, and he tries his best to maintain that image. He is usually outwardly level-headed, but sometimes end up coming off as a bit too cold, making him seem unfriendly or rude. Inwardly, though, that couldn't be farther from the truth. He is greatly driven by instinct and emotion, and in the past was prone to frequent outbursts. Over the years, however, he managed to develop a greater control over his emotions, and to avoid losing his temper again, he tends to restrain himself around others. Despite that, if he is overcome by any strong emotion, it can make him lose his composure quickly.

History: Originally, there was Jace, his sister Elizabeth, and their parents. They were perfectly happy and exceedingly average. HIs father was an accountant, and his mother, the manager of a neighborhood cafe. Then, when he was three, their father died. For a time, his mother took some time away from her work to care for Jace and Liz, but eventually, she had to return. For several years, it was mostly Jace and his sister on their own. With Liz a perpetually distant presence, Jace spent most of his time alone. He took to reading books and comics, playing video games, and whatever other activities he could do on his own, leading to him having few friends. But after five years, his mother eventually remarried. It took some getting used to, but Jace and his family gradually spent more and more time together, though Jace was never very comfortable around his step-father. A year later, his mother quit her job and his brother Aaron was born. None of Jace's discomfort transferred over to this boy, whom Jace doted on. After this, Jace's family lived a plain, ordinary life.

Family: Jace lives with his mother, step-father, and half-brother. Aaron is nine years younger than him and Elizabeth is four years older. Liz is currently attending college across the country, and with his step-father often gone on business, it's usually only him, his mother, and his brother at home.

PERSONA AND BACKGROUND

Personality: Allegra is a carefree, enthusiastic and cheerful person, who can be a bit abrasive at times. Her strong and outspoken demeanor can be a hit or miss kind of deal to a lot of people; people who don't like her really don't like her, and the people who do love her for it. Ally is also very observant, able to pick up on small things in her surroundings, and little signs in her friends when something's bothering them. She's brash and confident, not thinking twice before doing something stupid or risky or both, or not worrying with meeting deadlines for projects and other responsibilities, which of course, has landed her in hot water many times. But she never lets it get to her, always living in the moment and not dwelling on the past. She joined the school's track and field team and has quickly proven to be their best member yet, having won the local championship in the same year she joined. She certainly likes the attention it gets her.

Deep inside however, Ally isn't as confident as she appears to be. She plays the part of the fun, loud and cheerful girl because it's what makes people look at her, what makes people give her the light of day. All her life, she had been thrown to the wayside by her parents because of her brother's condition, and that left deep scars in her. She never really felt like she had someone to rely on, since her brother always took priority in her family. Because of this, she tries to distance herself from him and her parents. Most people at school know who her brother is and she hates it because she doesn't want to be the weird kid's sister, she doesn't want to carry that baggage around. And she hates that she hates it and that she hates him because she knows it's not his fault and that's it's unfair to put the blame on him. This cycle has been growing since a young age, festering inside her, making her hate herself. On bad days, she goes for jogs around her neighborhood or rambles to her friends. On really bad days, she becomes uncharacteristically quiet and disconnected from the world around her, lost in her own thoughts.

Ally is needy and relies heavily on her friends, as she feels those are the only people she can really trust. She's terrified of being alone, and values her friendships greatly. She has a tendency to procrastinate and ignore her problems. She has an aversion to conflict in general, possibly explaining why she doesn't confront her problems and why she never talked to her parents about how she felt. To her, it's easier to just ignore everything, pretend like everything's fine. And when they aren't, she just runs.

History: Allegra and Aaron were both born on the same day as twins, which was definitely a surprise to their parents, who had only found out a month prior, but were happy nonetheless. Their early lives were okay, although Allegra can't say she remembers much. But from early on, it was apparent something wasn't quite right with Aaron. He was taken to many doctors, which diagnosed him with ADHD, ADD, and eventually, autism. This was the turning point in Allegra's life.

Suddenly, priorities shifted. Ally's parents, not knowing how to handle the situation, smothered Aaron in attention and care, which left Al in the dust. While her parents also cared for her, it was nowhere near as much in comparison to her brother. Allegra speculates that, if that were only it, then things would be better between her and her parents. Unfortunately, this overzealous attention they gave her brother bled into her life too. There were many instances where she had to make sacrifices because of him: her parents needing to leave her school plays or movie theaters because he was getting agitated; having to work with him on school projects because no one else wanted to and "she was his sister, she had to help him"; not being allowed to go to her friend's house because Aaron would also want to go and that would be "unfair"; and more recently, having to give up time spent with her social circle to take care of Aaron, despite the fact that he is the same age as her. She reached her limit on their 11th birthday, which was spent in a party hall. Aaron was getting increasingly agitated and nervous due to how big the space was and how much people there were. Of course, Ally's parents, bending to meet his every requirement, took him and left the party, and since Ally couldn't stay by herself, they took her too, ending the party early.

Since then, Ally has been finding more and more things to do after school to spend less time home. She joined the school's track and field team and quickly became one of their best members, also rising in popularity inside the school. She hangs around a nearby skateboard park, getting to know some of the boys there. She spends time at her aunt's house, which is a good twenty minute walk from her own, and helps her out with anything she might need. And she's currently looking for a job, but doesn't really know where to start. But anything that gets her out of her house is fine by her.
