Now I must begin the arduous task of going through and changing the name in the CS and all of my previous posts... At least this was caught early on lol
I'm sure just changing it in the CS would be fine. Having to go back and change every post.... (-_-)

I mean everyone is pretty active and will see the posts in the OOC noticing that there was a name change.

But if you really wish to go back and change the name in the posts, that just shows me that you are dedicated to your characters. (^_^)

Thankfully, I don't think she was mentioned by name nearly as often as I originally thought. I think I've gotten her name changed in all of my posts now.

Dominique is a prefect

Also, as Morgana is Headmistress do we know what happened to McGonagall?

(Finally, for some reason I haven't been receiving any alerts from this chat, so sorry if I came of as rude or as ignoring it <3)

Felix is Head Boy, as mentioned, and Felissa's a prefect.

I think I was kinda addicted to the position.

I imagined that McGonagall would have been thrown into the dungeons, tortured and/or killed. Though, I wish she wasn't.

Why would she be killed?

Provided age hasn't claimed her, I could see her being kept alive. Tortured, yes, but alive. What better way for the Dark Lady to keep her foes in check? If McGonagall is killed, she becomes a rallying cry for those who knew her. If she's kept alive, then those loyal to her will be hesitant, worrying if their actions or lack thereof will result in her demise. Not to mention she could inevitably be used as bait. Let her location leak out to the resistance and watch the flies swarm into the spider's den.

In other words, she's more valuable alive than dead, at least in my humble and slightly twisted opinion.

You're right. I imagined it in a way where there was a battle and the Dark Witch would be forced to kill her - but capturing her does sound like their best bet. It does seem that it would be highly likely that she would just be captured huh?

Given the amount of skill required to basically take over the wizarding world, I think it's a safe assumption that the Dark Lady's dueling skills are sufficient to handle an aging McGonagall. McGonagall in her prime? Yeah, Morgana would have likely been forced to kill her, but she's not exactly in her prime these days.

Needless to say, our budding wizards are going to want to brush up on some serious Defense Against the Dark Arts for this new threat. Though, if she's anything like the old Dark Lord, you can expect that DAtDA will possibly be a stunted class focused primarily on theory with no real applications in order to keep this new generation of Wizards from being able to sufficiently stand against her.

Then again, there are always a few who have a knack for the subject and may well be able to pass some knowledge onto the others, provided you can find a suitable way to keep anyone from finding out, like, say, a secret room, or a trunk with an Undetectable Extension Charm on it.....

Of course, I'm only making conjectures at this point. Gotta see where things go from here. ^^

I suppose. McGonagall is in her 70s or 90s by this point? Was she in her 50s back then, I'm not so sure. Never really told us outright, to be honest, but she had been present in school back when Tom Riddle was as well right?

Yeah. It'll probably be like Umbridge's class all over again.

I kinda mentioned that the Room of Requirement is still up, but the Room of Hidden Things is kind of burned out. I mean, we could go to the Chamber of Secrets (since why would the opposing army for the Dark Witch use something that was directly connected to Voldemort) or something, but no one knows Parsletongue so...

I'm quite looking forward to how we're going to play this, actually.

McGonagall was 70 years old at the start of the series. Based off what I've seen via searching info for certain characters, she was said to be born in oct of 1925 and was the transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts from 1956 to 1998.

She's been around quite a long time, so I'd say she's pretty far up there in years. If anything got her at this point, I'd think it'd be age, not the Dark Lady.

Yeah, I caught that the Room of Requirement is still around, but odds are it's not nearly as secret as it used to be. Chamber of Secrets would work, but yeah, I don't see anyone in this group speaking Parseltongue.

That's why I suggested the trunk option. Kinda been hinted that Dante's trunk has been heavily modified, including by a rather good sized Undetectable Extension Charm, given he's twice disappeared completely inside of it lol!

I agree with you, it should be incredibly interesting to see how this all plays out.

Practicing inside a trunk huh? Could work, and it sounds rather unique to be honest. They'd have to bring in some books about spells though, since they'd need all the knowledge they can get - theoretical or otherwise.

This is true. Dante has all of his past textbooks kept in there, heavily annotated and earmarked, in case someone left their old textbooks at home. Knowing him, he also would have made it a point to check out some more advanced books from the library prior to, what I assume, would have been attempts to remove the best DADA books from the library by the Dark Lady. Dante does have a tendency to be a bit of a hoarder, after all...

Edit: To clarify, I mean he checked them out prior to the Dark Lady coming to power. When DADA got watered down, he just elected to keep the books instead of returning them to be removed/destroyed.

Cool! That would give them quite a lot to work on. Hopefully, using Dark Magic wouldn't be looked down upon. I can get why they would use stunning spells, disarming spells and the likes - but I do hope we could be more open to using deadlier spells to ward off the enemies. I get morality and all, but seriously, when it comes to life-and-death, I'd rather use something that could incapacitate my opponent for quite some time, over a momentary stun.

But that's just me.

I think that depends on how Dark we're getting with this dark magic. I doubt anyone wants to practice the cruciatus curse on each other, and I highly doubt they want to practice the Killing Curse lmfao!

The tricky part of all of this is that no one really knows any of this about Dante (yet). Of course, if anyone goes looking for those library textbooks, they'll find they're checked out to him in the records. (No one ever seems to actually read those things...) As for his trunk, if anyone is around him often enough they'll likely see him disappear into it at some point or other.

Really though, it'll come down to if people find out more about Dante or not, and how they react once they find things out.

To be fair, I don't think anyone really knows anything about anyone's character (yet).

But the talk about what might to come is interesting.

As for the hidden room or using a trunk to study magic to fight the Dark Lady, maybe we can get a little more creative on the subject. Hogwarts holds many secrets of course. We learned that through the years and the books. Every year you would learn something new about the Wizarding world and Hogwarts that was never explained or introduced until the time of need. (like the hidden room for example)

With this rp we could probably put our heads together and figure out a new way of doing things. (^_^)

I personally like the idea of the chamber of secrets. Isn't that alone a maze of tunnels?! And it has been closed for such a very long time.... Maybe there are some hidden things down there that could help with what is to come for the rp?

Just a thought. (^_^)

It would be awesome to use the Chamber. I think the only issue is finding a way in, given the only entrance is supposed to be only accessible via parseltongue.

As for knowing nothing Jon Snow , Dante is one of the few that doesn't really have a friend clique and tends to keep more to himself for fear of what people may do if they figure out his secrets. It's gonna be interesting seeing him actually interacting with people outside of James antagonizing him.

I do agree it will be interesting to see everyone's characters grow and evolve in this rp. But remember the golden rule... 'there is nothing friendly about friendly fire".... Wait wrong rule. lmao!!! (That's something one of my characters live by...))
Right the golden rule. "Don't judge a book by it's cover."

And I always take that rule and apply it to every character, rp and rper I meet. Mostly because people surprise me at times. And so do characters. They could have a million and one things in their CS, but in the rp they just shock you. lol

To me all the characters have a little something that wont be revealed until further into the rp. (^_^)

Words to live by.

I'm excited to start revealing things about Dante. Of course, I don't want to spoil anything, because then it wouldn't be as exciting, shocking, or just downright interesting if I did ^^

If I could add my two cents to the McGonagall conversation ~

Witches and wizards have much longer life expectancies than muggles. Dumbledore, in the series, was 150 (or 115ish, depending on what JKR interview you go by) and was sprightly enough for even Voldemort to fear him.

Interview here:

Also, on the subject of Dante's DADA books, how has he managed to hoard them for so long without Madam Pince declaring war on him xD

That was mentioned in the first book I believe. Remember the chocolate frogs? And when Hermione talked about what she found in the restricted section. She stated that the stone was created a long time ago by two wizards. Dumbledore was one of them... And I think they even mentioned the year it was made.

There have been many time where the series stated that witches and wizards have longer lives.....

Oh, I haven't read the first book for much too long...but I could have sworn that the references to longer lives in that book were only as a result of the Philosophers stone? Again, it's been way too long and I easily could have looked over something.

Also, Dumbledore didn't make the stone. He was only a friend to Nicholas Flamel, as the latter was born about 500 years before Albus was.
