Theo looked at her feet. Hale whined and wriggled in Eliza's arms.
Eliza let Hale down and held the leash tightly.
Hale pranced around happily. Theo looked away. "Eliza, I'm pregnant." Theo said gently.
Eliza smiled at Theo. "Oh my goodness! That's amazing!" she exclaimed.
Theo shook her head, tears falling down her cheeks. "No it's not." She whispered.
Eliza frowned and took Theo's hand. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"I... I have stomach cancer too. If I treat for it, I'll kill my child. If I don't... If I don't I might die." Theo burst into tears again.
"Oh god…Theo…" Eliza said, shocked. She hugged the woman tightly.
Theo hugged Eliza. "I don't know what to do. I want to have Aaron's baby, but... I don't want to die..."
"Theo you need to make sure you're okay first. You could always try again, and I know it hurts. I just lost a baby too and I'm devastated, but this is your life on the line."
"But what if the cancer spreads and I can't ever have another child?" Theo wept.
"You could always adopt a baby." she said softly, holding Theo gently.
Theo shook her head. "I have the chance to give birth to my daughter." She sobbed. "And I get cancer."
Eliza held her gently. "I'm so so sorry." she said softly.
Theo sobbed hopelessly. "It's not your fault." she whimpered.
"I wish I could help." Eliza said sadly.
Theo shook her head. "nothing to do to help."
Eliza held her hand and sighed softly.
"Come on, let's get to my house."
She nodded and walked with her, sighing sadly.
Theodosia opened the door to her house and Hale jumped in. Theo smiled as she sat on the couch. "Dear Theodosia, what to say to you?" Theo whispered, putting a hand on her belly.
Eliza smiled sadly at Theo and played with Hale.
Hale yipped and yapped, prancing around happily. Theodosia closed her eyes tightly, as pain spread through her stomach.
"Can I do anything for you?" she asked sadly.
"Painkillers in the cabinet." Theo whispered.
