"Let's get breakfast." Alexander said softly. "Okay?"
She looked down. She didn't want to eat at all.
"No, I don't think so." Peggy said softly. She was still reluctant to give her body. "Just... Let's get dressed."
"Oh, uh, sorry..." Lafayette said, smiling awkwardly.
Time Skip to School
Alexander walked Eliza into school, leading her to the band room. He was concerned for her, but he also knew that today was Washington's last day at the school, and that was hard for him to face. He held Eliza's hand firmly, blinking back the tears that were forming in his eyes.
Peggy arrived at school with Lafayette, shivering lightly with both shame and fear. She shouldn't have slept with him, she knew that, and she was terrified that girls would bully her. So she clung tightly to Lafayette, hoping that his presence would dissuade girls from teasing her.
Theodosia woke up in bed, feeling sharp pains in her stomach. She immediately was concerned, as she thought it was something wrong with the baby. She called a doctor and scheduled an appointment for later in the day so she could check what was going on.
Alexander ignored the whispers and pitying looks. He didn't need pity. He needed Washington to stay. @Paint The Wind
Alexander's jaw clenched. "Don't speak to her like that. She's not the one who sucks dick for money," Alexander pointed at a blonde girl, "who is sleeping with her sisters boyfriend," Alexander pointed at a tall brunette, "or who has had four separate nose jobs." Alexander pointed at the last girl. "Keep your opinions to yourselves, whores." @Paint The Wind
Alexander took her hand gently. "Hey, Eliza." He said gently. "Don't. I'm right here."
"I'll be fine." she murmured, walking off.
Alexander felt tears in his eyes. He rushed off to band, blinking back the tears. He opened the door and sat at his desk, putting his head down on the table in front of him and crying softly.
Alexander didnt acknowledge Eliza, he just kept crying. He was a failure. He failed to protect his girlfriend. He failed to keep his life under control. Now he was losing the man who guided him through the toughest years of his life.
Eliza just held him close and rubbed his back, holding him against his chest.
Alexander sobbed into her chest. "I've failed you Eliza. I've failed everyone." he whispered.
"Shh. You haven't." she said softly, wrapping her arms around him and rubbing his back.
"I can't save you. I can't keep Washington here. I can't do anything." he sobbed.
She cupped his face in her hands. "Alexander I love you. So does Washington." she told him, kissing him. "Don't blame yourself."
