Description: Pre-Augmentation: Before her SPARTAN augmentations took place, Linde was a woman of slightly above average height who walked with a slight limp in her step due to an injury from her childhood. She grew to be 5’ 11”, weighed approximately 145 lb., but was every bit as physically beautiful as she is today. Long dark brown hair cascading down her back to just below her posterior. A smooth, elegant, athletic frame fit to bewitch any man of her choosing. A full and voluptuous bust which remains perky against all logic. A beautiful face enough to rival an angel of heaven. Bow shaped lips naturally touched light pink without any make-up. Long thick eyelashes, slender arched eyebrows, and a smile to melt the heart of all who were lucky enough to see it. Indeed, despite her slight disability, she was a beauty to behold of the highest caliber.
Post-Augmentation: After her augmentation process, Linde became an entirely new woman. Physically she looked the same on the outside, with one exception… She grew to a height of 6’ 9” (~210cm), weighs 320 lb. (~145kg), and now has more pronounced musculature though it does appear soft on the outside helping retain her femininity. Her hair is the same length. Her body the same shape. But what separates her now as well is the fact that her limp is gone. Instead, she now walks with purpose and pride. Her smile is still an angel’s kiss to those who look at it, but her normal relaxed expression is one of determination and confidence where it used to be simple and soft happiness or sometimes even slight shyness. She holds none of that anymore.
With her armor on, she’s an imposing sight. Standing at 7’ 1” (~216cm) and weighing just under 1000 lb. (~450kg), she is almost indistinguishable from her male SPARTAN counterparts were it not for one design change which helps her to stand out. Her armor is not large, bulky, or polygonal. Instead, it is sleek and shaped to her frame exactly. This has helped to result in the lightened load on her body from the suit versus other SPARTAN warriors, and allows her to move at even faster speeds than most of her male counterparts. The trade off is that there is a slight reduction in the density of the Polymerized Lithium Nibocene Layer, which helps produce artificial muscle in the SPARTAN suit. However, she opted for this reduction, preferring to be faster and more agile than physically overpowering. Thanks to this detail, she is about as powerful as the original SPARTAN II’s, though she still holds a slight advantage in 99% of cases.

Personality: Linde is, has always been, and will forever remain a very kindhearted young woman. Thanks to her mother’s kindness growing up, especially after the tragedy os losing her father in the line of duty against the Covenant, Linde has grown up with an almost supernatural sense of compassion and understanding. This has helped her to develop a powerful sense of empathy. To put herself in the mental and emotional position of someone else to gain a better understanding of what they have been going through has always been easy for her. It has helped to earn her many friends in both modest and important positions. Linde expresses her kindness and empathy by being a good listener, taking in the words of others and processing what they say before speaking herself. She always does her best to let others speak their mind before crafting a response, as she has no wishes for conflict in any form. However, her life as a SPARTAN now ensures she will see plenty of it which clashes with this part of her personality and makes her new life somewhat difficult.
Another aspect of Linde’s personality has changed drastically, and that’s her confidence. Due to her childhood injury which gave her a limp, Linde began as a weak minded and weak hearted girl. Her slight disability, while not particularly damaging overall, did make her incredibly self conscious about the way she appeared whenever walking from one place to another, which was often. This diminished her self confidence around other people, though she was much more at home with herself and didn’t mind when alone. After all, when and if nobody is there to see it, who cares? But after her augmentations, Linde’s confidence skyrocketed. Without the limp to hold her back, and now endowed with physical power beyond even the legendary SPARTAN II-IV super soldiers, what is there not to be confident about? Her knowledge of the military and the UNSC is fairly extensive thanks to her father having been a Commanding level Officer, and he taught her as much as he could before his untimely death many years ago. But now Linde is where she feels she has always belonged; on the front lines where her father stood many a time in defense of the human race.
She is naturally a happy girl young woman on most days, except during that time of the month. Thanks to her mother’s loving care, she grew up happy and wanting for nothing except to be like her father. This lack of selfishness gave her a bright and chipper attitude, a warm heart, and a welcoming smile which many adore. Even now, after her augmentation and her job as a SPARTAN VI warrior on the front lines, she is still as happy and spirited as ever. It’s one of the few things about her which never changed no matter what happened. Even seeing death and destruction on a daily basis after being deployed for the first time did nothing to shake her upbeat attitude and hopeful thought process. Bad language, insults, doom and gloom, death, destruction. Nothing fazes her. The only thing which makes her irritable and breaks the happiness she always wears is that time of the month.
Linde has always been highly intelligent when it came to natural intellect. She learned very quickly as an infant how to stand at age 7 months, and how to run by 8 months. She was escaping her crib, opening doors, and climbing stairs within one year’s time. As a toddler, she learned how to manipulate the television remote at age 2, zippers and velcro slightly before that, and at age three she learned on her own how to tie her shoes (though it was a bit of a clumsy effort at first). As she grew, she proved to have strong instincts as well. When her family purchased a dog as a pet for the first time, she was wary of it due to it being somewhat quiet and fearful. Sure enough, the dog bit her mother one day and was given up for adoption shortly thereafter. They would not take care of a pet who bit its owners, even when they did nothing to make it fearful of them.
However, academically, she was not quite as adept. Her studies went well, there were no doubts. She worked hard through 5th to 8th grade to get high scores, but it was slow going at first. C’s and low B’s were common, though not from lack of effort or studying. She simply had a hard time grasping and holding onto information for long periods of time, making test taking difficult for her at first. Over time, she grew and matured, and managed to strengthen her information retention skills. By age fourteen, and a sophomore in high school, she had straight A’s in every subject. However, this came with a price: she had no social life. She spent hours every day studying and cramming, even when she didn’t need to, in order to finish homework the day it was assigned, study for tests that were weeks away, and ensure that she remembered as much as she could. Academically, she soared. Socially, she regressed. Her circle of friends grew smaller and smaller until it was only a handful of other students who didn’t mind her stuffing herself in her room to study.
Strengths:
* Highly intelligent
* Faster and more agile than 99% of her SPARTAN peers thanks to her customized MJOLNIR armor
* Very precise and calculated
Weaknesses:
* Trusting and ignorant to some of the more harsh realities beyond the scope of her current experience (which is minimal)
* Gullible, believing rumors and easily being tricked or pranked
* Empathetic, emotionally sidelining her from time to time because she has a hard time letting go of the pain she knows others are facing (especially when she knows she can do nothing about it)
Call-Sign: Angel, 7, or sometimes even Hot Stuff
SPARTAN AI: Xia, a.k.a “Killjoy” (A term Linde uses “with love”)
AI Description: Xia is an elegant and maternal figure for an AI. She speaks calmly and with dignity, addressing everyone by their appropriate titles, speaking only when spoken to, and behaving in general as a “proper” woman should when addressing those of importance. However, this does falter from time to time. Every so often she will crack the occasional joke, and her sense of humor is quite distasteful. This led to Linde calling her “Killjoy”, in reference to her rather poor sense of humor and timing. But the two get along very well. Linde respects her AI’s sense of calm dignity and restraint, and Xia in turn respects Linde’s ability to get the job done. The pair got along nearly from the first moment they were united, and it’s been an almost sisterly relationship for the two of them. They make a great team, with both of them reacting quickly to changing environments and being able to bolster the morale of their allies with bold and reliable words which they are more than capable of backing up together.
Training History: Linde’s training began when she was but a child with her father. He returned home for a two year hiatus, as determined necessary due to a temporary failing in his health during his time in service. She was four years old when her father determined that she needed to be capable of defending herself given the state humanity was in at the time in its battle against the Covenant. It started with the basics, drilling in proper posture, hand position, body alignment, and stepping methods. These drills were performed over and over again for weeks on end to create the muscle memory necessary for her to become a little bruiser in her own right for being only four years old. Around five months into training and she’d become a little boxer, much to her father’s great pride. Her mother was a little less enthusiastic, fearing her daughter would become “one of the guys” so to speak. But thankfully Linde never fell into that trap.
Linde’s training intensified once she had hit the 8 month mark in her training with her father, and she started learning how to punch, how to kick, and how to grapple on a very basic level. Her father crafted several body dummies to be used as practice targets so she could practice her techniques at full strength without worrying about breaking anything. These targets helped her to have confidence in what she was doing, and every time her father told her she had performed a technique incorrectly, and pointed out what would have happened if it were a human being, she did her best to log the information away and hold onto it. It was difficult at first, especially being so young, but she eventually got a handle on his teachings and teaching method. By the time she’d been training for a year and a half, her father deemed her ready to begin training with him in a more direct fashion. He began wearing protective gloves, and allowed Linde to target them and strike with full power to perfect her basic techniques. Her punches grew stronger, her kicks more accurate, and in time she was a miniature warrior ready for just about any confrontation with anyone in and around her own size. In fact, she proved this when she fought back against a local school bully, who ended up with a broken nose which received Linde a minor’s misdemeanor warning.
After Linde had trained for two years with her father, he returned to service when his health was diagnosed as acceptable. Linde was given several documents, as well as a video communicator, to continue her studies. The video communicator allowed her to chat live with her father for video lessons, and she would then practice for herself at home on Earth. This went on for a few more years until the unthinkable happened, and Linde’s father was declared KIA when she was only eight years old. The news struck both Linde and her mother very hard, but Linde most of all as the two had grown very close during their time training together. Her father was her idol, and now he was gone. However, her mother refused to give in to the depression and the anxiety, and steeled herself for the sake of her daughter. She could not train with Linde, but she was able to encourage her to continue so as not to let her father’s teachings die. Even if he was gone, Linde remained to carry on his legacy which was a tall order. He was a highly decorated war hero who had earned over a dozen awards including the Medal of Honor. Linde had mighty big shoes to fill, and Commander Almna’s name is highly recognized and respected among the UNSC military forces for being an active Commanding Officer who was not afraid to take to the field and get the job done beside his troops.
When Linde was ten, she broke her leg during a training accident. It had been raining previously, and the stone foundation upon which she trained was still slippery. The inevitable took place, and Linde landed just right to crack her femur on an area which was bulging slightly thanks to the roots of a nearby tree screwing with the foundation’s level. She was in a cast for several weeks, and on crutches for almost two months before she was able to walk by herself again. However, she now walked with a limp which began to slowly eat away at her confidence and her training began to suffer for it. However, after she was recruited for the SPARTAN VI program by Dr. Ishiwata, and after the augmentation process took place and returned her ability to walk without issue, her confidence soared. She was one of the youngest initiates for the program, being recruited at the age of eighteen whereas 95% of initiates to the program were at least twenty one years of age, if not older. Her father’s record was the reason for this, and Dr. Ishiwata had high hopes for her as his daughter. She aims to live up to that legendary status her father earned, but she is nervous and it sometimes shows through.
Biography: Linde was born on April 7, 2546 in Tokyo, Japan on Earth. Her father was a caucasian American, Stephen Almna, and a veteran of the Human-Covenant War and then Lieutenant in the UNSC’s Marine Corps. branch. Her mother was a Japanese woman, Yuri Sato, whom her father had married just before Linde’s birth. The two were in a somewhat shaky relationship at the time due to his active service constantly sending him away for months at a time, but their love persisted long enough for Linde’s birth to keep them together and renew the powerful bond they shared. Had Linde never been born, it would have been likely that the two would have split from one another due to irreconcilable differences. But that did not happen. The two remained together from then on, as Linde was delivered via c-section which damaged her mother’s ability to reproduce further and bear more children. As an only child, Linde grew up as the sole object of her parent’s love and affection.
It was a happy life for Linde, full of love and laughter from day one. Her father was on military leave for eight months for distinguished service, also having earned his second purple heart at this time. Her mother was always home, a stay at home mother, as she was the daughter of a wealthy Japanese corporate magnate and was in good standing with her family despite marrying an American with little to no significant worth in the corporate world. Thanks to the family fortune, Linde grew up wanting for nothing. She was taught early the value of money from an economic standpoint, but also raised to believe that it held little to no personal value. Whether there was money or not, she was raised to understand that people could be truly happy no matter their circumstances. Because she grew up knowing that money was but a tool for use when in need, she never used her family fortune for anything. In fact, in her entire life, she’s only used her family credit card one time when she was sixteen: to buy a pack of gum because she had no cash on hand.
Linde's time as a toddler was a strange but rather interesting time. She was schooled at home, with numerous instructors being hired by her parents to teach her from home as they believed it would be a more comfortable learning environment. Linde was taught all of the basics that every child learned of at this young age: basic math, science, history, cause and effect, and more. Her parents ensured she spent much of her time studying and growing smarter, as Linde at first demonstrated a somewhat stunted learning curve. She could remember information for approximately three to five days before forgetting it, and when it came to more important information and topics she'd need to remember for the rest of her life, that was unacceptable. Her parents were not in any way pushy about this, but they did carefully and calmly emphasize the importance of being able to absorb and retain information for her. Linde learned well, taking several years to adjust to the method of instruction, but eventually taking full command of it.
Linde was four years old when her father returned home on military leave due to a failing in his health. He took this opportunity to both train and bond with Linde, teaching her the basics of martial arts stance, posture, and stepping methods for a total of eight months before she graduated to basic strikes and blocks. The rest of this two year period, until she was six years old and almost ready to turn seven, saw her become a miniature ninja warrior. She could kick well above her head, punch with great speed for a child, and was unafraid of anyone due to sparring with her father who was much larger and more imposing than any school bullies. It was around this time she began attending public schools, as she was getting tired of being taught at home. She ran into a few bullies at first, but she quickly proved her father's teachings worked as she would not take any BS from any of them. One of them landed in the nurses office with a broken nose, and Linde was given a warning. If she fought again, she'd be expelled which wouldn't be good for her or her parents.
Once her father returned to service when his health improved, things returned mostly to normal for her. Linde was eight years old now, and she trained at home on her own, occasionally communicating with her father and taking visual lessons from him on the big screen. Keeping up with her lessons was fun, but she was at this time spending more time on schoolwork at her mother's insistence. From time to time she'd sneak out to practice on her own, but always she kept up with her schoolwork. For some time, things remained this way until Linde and her mother received the news every family with someone in the UNSC dreaded... Her father had been confirmed as KIA in the line of duty. Both of them grieved the death of her father, but with her mother determined to never let either of them fall into depression, they pushed forward. It was at this time that her mother began drawing on the family fortune to send Linde to the best schools and provide her with whatever she needed to succeed. It was a change of pace, but overall not a huge change in lifestyle. Linde still wanted for nothing, and used only what she absolutely needed to move forward as her mother wished.
When Linde was ten, she was training out back after a rainstorm and inevitably fell and broke her leg. She spent several weeks in a cast and almost two full months on crutches before being allowed to walk without them. But from that point on, she walked with a slight limp. It was not immediately noticeable, but if one spent enough time walking with her, it would grow more apparent with time. Linde received numerous bullying treatments during her recovery, and that coupled with her new limp did not help her self esteem which began to take a nose dive. She was beautiful physically, but this new slight disability was wreaking havoc on her social life. She coped with this by isolating herself in her home studying for hours on end to keep her mind off of what was happening on school grounds. Her training also suffered due to her injury, and she began losing flexibility as well as agility because of her wound. It was a bitter blow for her, as she loved training up until that point. But now... Things didn't look too good for it now.
Linde continued growing and eventually hit puberty between the ages of twelve and thirteen. She filled out in all the right places, growing taller, more slender, and more voluptuous. By age fourteen, she was a top contender for Queen of her high school as but a freshman, and she ended up winning by almost unanimous vote knocking the previous Queen, now a senior, off her throne most spectacularly. This earned Linde her first nickname: Angel. Despite her slight limp, almost every major school jock and pretty boy tried to wrap themselves around her finger. However, she avoided them. This lack of desire for a boyfriend and for contact with all the hottest guys began spreading rumors that she was a lesbian, which she denied whenever asked. Instead, Linde surprised everyone when she declared openly one day that she was in fact bi-sexual. Both men and women interested her, but none of the boys here at her high school sparked her interest because they were either too distant and apathetic to others or simply had ugly personalities. This declaration was not well received, and though she retained her title of Queen for that year she lost it the next year as a sophomore to a then junior. But she didn't care. She just wanted to graduate and move on.
Graduation came, and Linde moved on at age seventeen to prepare for tryouts for the military. By age sixteen, she'd gained an interest in trying for it, despite her disability. She was concerned she wouldn't be allowed in because of the limp, but she was determined to at least try. She began training seriously again, becoming more flexible than ever as well as stronger and faster. She pushed herself to the absolute limit in the gym and with a private instructor at home. When she turned eighteen, she made the attempt to apply for the Marine Corps branch of the UNSC. However, true to her fears, her disability prevented her from being allowed in. She was devastated, but thankfully the recruiters were kind to her and respectful thanks to her father's legacy and name. They gave their condolences, and as Linde walked away she was approached by a woman in her mid forties who asked if she still wanted into the UNSC. Linde gave her an affirmative answer, and she was then escorted to a limo which drove her to an undisclosed location where she was met by a woman named Dr. Kumiko Ishiwata.
After the interview with Dr. Ishiwata, Linde returned home with a bright smile on her face. She wouldn't tell her mother what she was about to do, but asked for her continued love and support as she would need it. Her mother reluctantly agreed, fearing the worst, but Linde left with that smile and a renewed determination. She was taken off world and traveled for over two months in warp space to a facility where Dr. Ishiwata was conducting new research on a new breed of SPARTAN warriors. Linde was met by the other initiates of the Program, and after a week or so of further recruiting everyone was inducted into the Program officially and began the process of becoming new SPARTAN warriors. At first, it went well, but as Linde took to the operating table for the augmentation process, she was almost disqualified due to her damaged leg. When it was told she had roughly a 15% chance to survive due to this injury, she took her chances. The operation was dicy, but ultimately successful. Her damaged muscle was restored, tendons renewed, and as her body adjusted to the new augmentations, she discovered that she now walked normally without the limp or any pain. She was an entirely new woman now!
Now a SPARTAN VI, Linde was unstoppable. Her confidence had been renewed in spades, her determination to succeed and dominate skyrocketed, and a new mindset as a warrior began to take shape within her. Her training alongside her fellow SPARTANs went very well, and her father's teachings in martial arts gave her a bit of an edge in close range hand-to-hand combat over her peers. Her lack of fear or even the slightest hint of intimidation was, in and of itself, intimidating. That single grain of fear was all she needed to take her position near the top of the class as one of the best hand-to-hand combatants of the SPARTAN VI crop. Of the original 240 initiates, only 96 had survived. It was not a fantastic ratio, but Linde was one of those lucky few who had made it and now took her place alongside her new brothers and sisters in arms as a new and more powerful fighting force. When Linde was given her choice of MJOLNIR armor, she made a request to have a personalized set made for her which was not stock. She asked for more form fitting armor to allow her to keep her speed and flexibility, and when notified that it would sacrifice a small percentage of her strength by comparison to the other SPARTAN VI warriors, she opted for it without protest. This was not about power. This was about making her father proud in the best way she knew how.
And so Linde received her new armor, and once inside for the first time she met with her new AI, Xia. The two got along very well from the get go, and they gave each other nicknames out of a new sisterly love they shared for each other. Xia was called "Killjoy", and Linde was called "Sweetie". It was the beginning of what both were sure would be an excellent relationship. The pair were deployed along with other SPARTAN VI warriors to a neighboring planet where the remnant Covenant forces who fought against the peace negotiations were gathering. The mounting threat was neutralized in less than 8 hours, and Linde had barely even broken a sweat despite facing down literally hundreds of Covenant soldiers alongside her new SPARTAN family. Not a single member was lost that day. Their numbers were small, but the results spoke for themselves. Even with the new breed of Covenant warriors such as the Grand Hunters, they posed little threat to the new SPARTAN assault teams. Linde returned to base for the first time, very pleased and content with the way things were going. Becoming a SPARTAN was akin to a rebirth for Linde in every respect, and thus far she is loving every second of it.

”Some say the SPARTANs are corrupt, run via the Ghost Agenda from a shadow organization that has infiltrated the UNSC’s ranks. But if that were true, then we wouldn’t be having this conversation would we?”
