Miscellaneous Facts
Established Miscellaneous Facts:

[1] Dragon Names (by Birdsie and Epiphany)
Dragons are born with a one-syllable name. As they perform legendary deeds, they gain a syllable with a meaning reflecting said deeds and add it to their name. A dragon that cheats and adds new sobriquets and titles to its name unjustly is looked down upon as unsightly. Due to cultural dissonance, dragons tend to take beings with long names and lots of titles more seriously and respectfully, while someone like "Ralph the Farmer" is seen as a snack.

[2] Elven Longevity (by Birdsie and Alteras)
Elves don't live much longer than humans on average, only living several decades longer at most. They obtain their longevity (up to 400 years,) by making pacts with nature spirits, which is seen as a tradition and part of their culture, that all elves accomplish at one point in their lives. Over time, a specific 'species' of spirits was born out of this practice, which lives in close symbiosis with elvenkind and grants them longevity in exchange for praise and gifts. These spirits don't respond to anyone who is not an elf.

Avant Elves (City Elves)
Due to the many generations of contact with humans, these elves are more closely aligned, in culture and thinking, to humans. Specifically, these are elves who were born and raised in human dominant cities. However the term has grown to encompass any elf who doesn't live in the presence of elven dominant areas. Originally a derogatory term, the latest generation of Avant Elves take pride in the fact that they have more progressive ideology to their forest brethren.

Unfortunately, due to their lack of contact to nature and the lack of spirits in cities, they aren't able to make pacts with nature spirits and gain Elven Longevity. While many Avant Elves aren't too concerned about this, having grown up alongside the short lifespan of humans, there still many who have taken upon themselves to leave their urban homes to form a pact with a nature spirit. This is done around the time they become an adult in human years.

Semantically, Avant Elves refer to pure elves who live in human cities, however half elves are commonly mistaken to also be Avant Elves.

Lore:
It was said that these shrines were created by the gods to test beings of power. Thousands of years ago people would visit these, after defeating a challenge the gods would reward them. This, in particular, was for the god of nature and growth, Mendalla. Said to have created the great tree now within Appletree village. The shrine goes deep into the mountain. While it might be assumed the tunnels are small and narrow, in fact, the gate leads into a massive open area within the mountain. There are paths carved in by the mountain, and walls higher than an average person, almost as though to guide people a certain way. Although it has been abandoned for centuries and resides in the cold mountain mysterious plants and other life grows within the shrine. Combined with being naturally warm, it made for an escape from the cold mountains. Only after Albion was created, it started being used as a secret black market meeting point. With few people knowing its location and no roads leading to it, the area flourished with an underground market. Only several months ago was it take over by bandits who have continually grown in numbers and are selling massive amounts of goods. It's unclear to whom their selling to.
